guk Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 (edited) That's what I would do. If something acts up, let us know. Only copying the MO folder didn't work. MO launches but gives an error, and shows no mods being installed. Â edit: seems like you have to enter the MO config, change the directory paths accordingly, restore the Profiles folder from the original again (because MO wrecks the modlists at launch), also fix the executable paths. RitualClarity Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Delete the bsa_extractor.dll from \Plugins. Guess that's bugged. He's using Win 7 64bit.   I also have this issue. Removing plugins/installer_ncc.dll allowed me to install the mod, though MO2a3 crashed on attempting the replacement of the existing mod.On restarting MO2a3 I saw that the mod was successfully installed. This is something I have not confirmed, but may help some.  I've had my mods installed manually, since Alpha 2 wasn't working for me and crashing at the title.   The version you have the most current stable one? I want to give it a try again shortly to see if it resolved my python issue. MO works fine but MO2 don't. (win7 x64bit) Not necessarily "stable", no. It's Alpha.   Doesn't work.  Also now it wants to install your files elsewhere(data) ... local vs portable version. One MO to control all the MO supported games. My recommendation is to use Portable. Tannin mentioned that using Regular leaves MO2 without a modorganizer.ini, which I would prefer to have (RC can confirm that ).  I'm gonna get to testing it today or maybe tomorrow. Got my data folder backed up (live n' learn), so I'm good.  RC, you say mods are being installed to Data? From what I understand, it wants to install your mods to AppData\Local\Fallout4. Guess I can't verify either until I test it myself, unless a bunch of people tell me mods are being installed manually like NMM. Is that what you meant? Installs to Data like NMM?  I don't usually upload MOs unless I think they're stable enough to use, but since I've had someone tell me in person that mods installed and worked (even if they crashed MO2 upon installation), I decided to upload it here, unless it proves totally unreliable. Let's see how it goes, and feel free to report bugs here. Not necessary to report it to STEP or github until we find something that hasn't already been reported there. Find something new, report it there on github or STEP. And here, so I know sooner.  Thanks for feedback guys. A stable MO2 is neigh! Tannin's workin' his ass off and bringing out versions fairly quickly, so I will soon fall in love with MO all over again. "Renew the vows", so to speak.  While I'm here, guess I'll ask: Has anyone seen a mod that makes use of F4SE yet? I wanna use it with something!   Edit: LL's having some stupid problems with quotes right now. Just lightened the color of one of my responses to compensate. Nothing else works. Tried 7 times.  I tried the portable and the other verson. Both crash when attempting to start. I can't even try to install a mod to see if it crashes. I have downloaded it 2 of the 3 times it shows in the OP.. (lol). going to try it again. I hate giving bug logs etc.  and yes I did remove the BSA_Extract.dll.  In the mO_interface file 17:10:00 [C] Failed to load python runner (): (errorcode 193)  Yep for some reason it try to install files into yada, yada appdata/local/modorganizer/fallout 4... It states to change it "later". Can't since I can't install it.
AwfulArchdemon Posted January 14, 2016 Author Posted January 14, 2016 ...lame. Well, I suppose ya gotta send that dump file to sherb. You, me and my friend are all using Win 7 64, so I don't know wtf. Not yet, at least (sorry). In fact, he downgraded from Win 10 to 7. He's coming over soon, so I guess we can troubleshoot together. Always nice to have someone in person who's helping test stuff. Quite looking forward to the beta. Â I get the feeling it'd work best on Win 10, since Tannin recently upgraded to that. I'll keep my eyes on new versions, and replace each alpha with each new version on the OP. Not much reason to have multiple versions of MO2 on the OP, like MO(1). Best reason to have a couple versions of MO on the OP is simply cuz certain one's work better for certain people, and 1.2.8 is the last one to support WinXP. Plus, I maxed dafuq out on file space on that monstrous OP.
RitualClarity Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 I hate sending debugs through email, however I did. Â Are you and your friend having problems with Win7? Â I am likely going to have to use NMM.
AwfulArchdemon Posted January 14, 2016 Author Posted January 14, 2016 Just the crash upon installation thing. I have my mods installed manually in the meantime. I was mostly just testing MO2 when installing mods, not preparing to play through the game with MO2. I may wait until the beta for that. Â Just back up the data folder and install manually. It's easier than using NMM tbh. Extract and done. Gonna use MO2? Delete data and extract the data.rar. Life is good. Only thing tedious is FOMOD installers, but I used MO2 for that, and took the installed mod out of MO2's mods folder and just added the files to data. I used the last version for that, though. Have't tried the FOMOD installer with the new alpha yet. Worked with the last one.
RitualClarity Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 So you get the crash upon installation of the MO program? Am I correct? If so than at least I am not alone. Â Manual is cool however even if NMM does flub up something occasionally it would be better (managing) than doing it manually. At least going forward if you use lots of mods or plan on testing various mods (which I am) Otherwise it will take considerable time to refresh the Data folder when cleaning up.
ErikModi Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 So, having a very minor and weird issue, wondering if anyone can give me a hand. The icon image for Mod Organizer is missing. Everything works fine, but the shortcut and file both have just a generic program icon instead of the MO icon. Tried Googling "missing icons" and followed some fixes there, no joy.
AwfulArchdemon Posted January 20, 2016 Author Posted January 20, 2016 Well, maybe it's an alpha thing? I dunno, that's not the sort of problem I'm used to hearing about.

ErikModi Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 I reinstalled MO already, still nothing. And I had the proper icon earlier.
dje34 Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 Still using and loving MO. Â Thanks so much guys !

Guest Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Awful and ritual - is there a reason why this thread is not pinned? I've been visiting this thread regularly and sometimes I have to scroll to find it. Many other MO users needs this thread as easily/fast accessible. It will be good if it stay always on the top. What does it take to make it pinned and who decides about that?
RitualClarity Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 It has been brought up before. Nothing happened. Your NMM thread isn't pinned either. Perhaps the moderators/admin don't pin the tutorial or discussion threads related to mod managers? Anyway I keep a link im my sig for those that need the assistance (8000 post across the forum.. many many references and opportunities to find MO help.. and for that matter NMM links as well ). I say just keep a nice link ready to send to those that need the help. Fortunately Like your NMM thread this thread is pretty active so it usually stays pretty far up the list. at least most of the time.
RitualClarity Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 I see. Thanks for the answer ritual. Â No problem. . However both Awfularchdemon and myself and perhaps others would like to see it pinned. Â
AwfulArchdemon Posted January 30, 2016 Author Posted January 30, 2016 It might as well be. Plenty of people have asked for it. Perhaps leave a pile of requests to have it pinned on Ashal's desk  (was joking). I haven't really pursued it. In fact I don't think I've ever asked. Could be beneficial to people using the Almighty Google Machine to find help with a problem we have already answered. Step 1 was to have it moved to Tech support. Maybe time for a step 2?  This MO2 alpha's weird. Each person with a problem seems to be having a different problem.

Not even for the games MO(older non 64bit version) I sent in a bug report that was generated through email, no response (I understand) and no solution so far. MO2 is so bad for Fallout 4 and in general.. I have installed NMM (don't worry and don't hate I still use it for Fallout and Skyrim . ) Â

I have tried and tried and tried.. MO is actually working worse than better. At least before I could install the manager but just got some Python error, I can't even do that now. I even sent in a bug report to the email listed (which I really don't like doing ). to help. I believe I am not the only one having problems with MO2 and Windows 7.  Like Elf Prince stated..I have to improvise with what I have that works if I have any intention of playing that game with out manually installing all the mods which my desired list is getting quite big. I can manually install it but one screw up.. 15 minutes to restore then the time to extract the mods back into the data folder again in proper order. Not hard, hell not even complex but tedious as hell. I might still need NMM to just order the plugins now.. Or go and redate the B2A and all sorts of junk to make it read properly.. Extract to loose files and all other manner of stuff to prepare to make the mods easier to managed manual installing
gregathit Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Thread pinned. Â If you think something should be pinned, just PM a moderator and we will look into it. Â Cheers, Greg
AwfulArchdemon Posted January 31, 2016 Author Posted January 31, 2016 @RC: Yeah, I was just screwin' around. Use what works. If that's NMM, so be it. I don't really have a problem with it. I was just getting preachy 'bout MO2. Been a while since my last sermon.  @Greg: Thanks buddy. You da man.  Like I said, I never even asked. I have derped.  On a side note: You might even consider making a Dead or Alive sub-forum. DOA mods are all over the place. It is, afterall, the sexiest mainstream game in history. Technically, LL could just do with DOA and Sims what it did with Bethesda games, and just actively show them on the home page. I guess this is a site devoted to Beth games, but it doesn't really have to limit itself to them. Not when the others are so popular too.  This would clean up the Adult Gaming section, and then any threads listing an index of mods for them could be pinned to the front page of those sub-forums. Just a thought. If LL is to be Beth exclusive, with bonus games on the side (like now), so be it.  I was thinking:  Bethesda  Fallout 3/NV Fallout 4 Oblivion Skyrim   EA  Sims 3 Sims 4 Jade Empire (?)...(I made a few mods and would then release them)    Dead or Alive (no need to make it Koei/Techmo or Team Ninja, since this is the only game people nude-mod from them, to my knowledge)  Dead or Alive 5/Ult/+/LR Dead or Alive Extreme 2* Dead or Alive Extreme 3* (???)...(come to PC dammit!)*   Again, just a thought, not necessarily a request. Â
RitualClarity Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 @ Awfularchdemon I know.. I know. I would love to be able to use the new MO. Be as preachy as you want I guess I will just have to sit at the back of the church (at least until MO does work for me )
D_ManXX2 Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 This part of MO has always eluded me for some reason. Does the left panel really have to reflect the same load order as the right panel ?? Some mods in my list does not use esm/esp but still active in the left panel but in the right panel. So in all the left panel is always different then my right panel load order.
