I've never used the texture blend before, but I think I may have an idea how you can get it to work.

Do it again so that it appears in the overwrite folder and leave it there. God back to MO and on the mod list side scroll all the way down where it says overwrite in red. If you double click it, it will show you the files that are in your overwrite. They should be there. Close that overwrite window and right click on overwrite and then click on "create mod...". Give it a name along the lines of what you are doing so you know what it is. Enable it and adjust it where you feel it belongs so that it isn't overwritten but overwriting.

See if that does the trick.

Note: you might also find files pertaining to some other mod that ended up in the overwrite. As a reminder, it's crucial to always keep an eye on the overwrite at the bottom. If it's red, that indicates that files are in the overwrite. As you install a mod you want to keep an eye on that so you know what is overwritting. This helps maintain files each in their order according how you organize your mod list. In other words, it's a certain you will have to use the "create mod..." as much as possible for each time this occurs and adjust them where you feel they belong.

That makes my characters whole body black....

Do you have a full body mod? Says you could get a black body from not having one installed right.

Important:

Texture Blender only works if you have a complete Face/Body Mod installed. If you're missing one of the folders below and Blend the Faces, you will end up with a Black Face for that specific Race.

Blending the Head:

1) Select "Head" from the first dropdown menu.
2) Select "Color" from the second dropdown menu.
3) Select "UNPNeckColor.png" from the middle.
4) Click on "Preview" to see the outcome. (If the preview shows a black image it will look the same ingame)
5) Click on "Blend Images" to blend it.
6) Repeat step 3 to 6 for "Normal" and "Specular" aswell.

Done!

Does your preview look black in TexBlend? you may need to edit the config.xml. Mine's installed manually in Data, but MO's running it. My files don't go to overwrite though.

Ok so when I preview abs it shows the abs but on a black backround, is this what it means?

Also I'm not really sure how I should edit the xml. As in pointing the exe to the textures, as they are installed with MO as well..

Does it not have a specular or something? In my case, I was altering the UNPB (pregnant) bod. Perhaps try blending with Bodyslide & Outfit Studio? Have you asked on the textblend page? Or is this another case of "I don't use MO, ask AwfulArchdemon"? :P

Odd behavior: Creation kit through mod organizer stopped working suddenly

I've been using Creation kit through mod organizer without a hitch for months to compile scripts and manipulate properties in the esp for those scripts, but quite suddenly that stopped working.

Day one: attempting to change the properties of a script caused an error "Errors encountered while attempting to reload the script" followed by a empty properties window. I'm 90% positive I attempted to recompile the scrips to make sure there wasn't anything corrupted and succeeded because I left off that night confused when it persisted across multiple esp versions.

Day two: First bug remains, but I can no longer compile scripts, "<unknown>(0,0): unable to locate script <script>". Error spans all scripts for given mod (they were all compilable days ago) and seems to encompass all non-vanilla skyrim scripts. Error persists regardless of profile, new or old, and is uneffected by reverting to older mods of any version.

I have no clue what changed all of a sudden, if mod organizer updated, .NET updated, or skyrim, I didn't notice. It sounds to me like the compiler can't see the virtual folder, is there some way to test this?

I haven't yet tried moving scripts to overwrite yet to see if at least that works. Nope, couldn't find the script in overwrite/scritps/source either.

Windows 7 on x64 arch, yes I did the .NET thing months ago to fix it back then, haven't yet tried to update as a attempted fix.

Well, if you already did this:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v8.1A\bin\NETFX 4.5.1 Tools\corflags.exe" /32bit+ "C:\Games\Steam\SteamApps\common\skyrim\Papyrus Compiler\PapyrusCompiler.exe"
...then have you tried it with the mod installed manually? If no errors there, try an older MO? Verified CK's files? Mine's still working (afaik...you got me worried). It won't see any mod files at all....all of a sudden?

I haven't gotten any updates for anything.

You know, I wouldn't be surprised if the problem suddenly went away. :P (crosses fingers)

Verified through steam and got one bad file, redownloaded, reran corflags and got silent exit

"Microsoft ® .NET Framework CorFlags Conversion Tool.  Vers
Copyright © Microsoft Corporation.  All rights reserved."

Refreshed MO and still doesn't work.

Looks like reverting MO to an earlier version is next on the list, what was the last recomended stable version?

About says I'm on 1.3.8 0615fe71ab+ Edit: oh I'm not on the latest, alright I'll test that too. Nope

Double checking, there weren't any skyrimeditor.ini changes I had to make right?

Posted

Wait, so you were using 1.3.8 and switched to the new version? Is that what that means? And just make sure the ini is there, and if you know you made changes, just make sure they're still changed.

If you changed versions and it still isn't working, it stands to reason that it's a CK problem (whether you verified or not :D), a Skyrim problem, or a Harddrive problem. Last stable version was 1.3.7, but I still recommend trying 1.2.8. Worked great in every way, and was able to support Win XP.

CK can see the new scripts I make in any active mod, so clearly CK can see the virtual folder, and mod organizer is probably doing it's job. I think the compiler itself can't find the right stuff, which is odd since I thought the compiler ran from CK would see the virtual tree too.

Yeah, no difference when I upgraded. I'll try 1.2.8 when I get the chance.

For reference, in the event I want to setup the compiler to point specifically at it, what is the dir for the virtual folder, or can we even reach it through userland?

Edit: never fixed, switched to NMM v5 as workaround.

Hi all,

I'm just wondering, is there some super easy way to reorder plugins or do I have to do each one individually? I somehow managed to disable a bunch of them and shuffle them around a bit and now MO keeps throwing up load order warnings. I would just fix them but my old load order had no neck seams, this one does. Thanks!

MO only throws load order warnings about scripts, which are almost certainly not the cause or solution for neck seams. Let MO clear up its order then tweak the order of body-related mods to fix the seam. There really is no way to sort these other than manually.

Take backups of the left side (and right side) before making changes. This can be reverted. (the easy way) when something inevitably screws up as in your case Infernas17. However now if you don't have a backup of the old list (left side) then you have to manually change the order of the mods relating to your bodies. Now those are easy enough to find out. Just check a mod with body textures, meshes in it and it will have conflicts. Just move those listed in the conflicts tab and test until you find the fix. Then make a backup of the mods list ;).

Is there a way to backup the right side list then?

Is there a way to backup the right side list then?

Why don't you simply archive (zip/rar/7z) all the TXT and INI files in your profile folder? Or am I missing something?

Below is some of the files you should look for. I'm still using an older version so there might be some changes.

archives.txt (list of BSAs)

lockedorder.txt (if you have plugins with locked order)

modlist.txt (mods on the left pane in reversed order, +:enabled, -:disabled)

loadorder.txt (plugin order on the right pane, includes disabled plugins as well)

plugins.txt (plugin order on the right pane, but only the active/enabled ones)

initweaks.ini

Skyrim.ini

SkyrimPrefs.ini

Give the archive a proper name with the date you created it.

To revert back to an earlier state, close MO and simply replace the current files with the ones in the archive. You'll return to the previous order for both sides when you relaunch MO.

I didn't think of that, thanks!

You're missing that MO can do that for you, and you don't need to manually mess around with copying files or restarting the program every time you want to do it.

It's the same way as backing up the left side, except on the right.

Sure, that's another way to do it. Personally, I don't like having too many files with awkward file extensions in my profile folder and in Windows registry. I also want the backup to include my INI files. I find my method cleaner and more reliable.

Yes Infernas. There is a back up button on the top right of the right side. Click on that and you have a list generated that is a backup. You can later restore that backup. Now as bjornk stated there are .ini files that show mod list etc in your profiles. Now if you get a lot of backups or have a few that are bad and you don't want them you can back those up or delete those. Mo is very powerful and lots of options.
