Can I just say... I played with this mod for the first time. I did have to do a few console 'kill' commands because I have some extra spawning NPCs, but otherwise (My issue, not this mods) and a couple times the scene left my PC stuck and I used the debug option (really wasn't all that annoying)... just wow. By the end, my rebellious PC had regained her freedom, but I have to admit, it was my first playthrough that I felt my female PC becomes just... COLD towards people. I don't typically do a lot of robbery and thieving and murdering, but after what she went through, she doesn't give many fucks left, and it was hard to play this character any other way after she went through all this.

 

Definitely the first playthrough whom she will find her son, and murder anyone who stands in her way. Excellent work overall. Some of the scenes, with the camera angles, were just awesome. I can only imagine the amount of work that went into this.

The problem is the usual: for some reason, the scripts don't run with Violate installed. I can't replicate it, so I guess there are more factors under the rug.

For me, the quest was starting with the newest version of Violate, but getting hung up on stage 35. I rolled everything AAF back to what I used an January, including Violate, and the quest would no longer trigger. I removed Violate and SEU, restarted the game and am back to getting hung up on stage 35. This is how the quest stages look, with everything above "not set" and quest stage 35 is running. I'd just console it ahead, but not sure what functions need to be trigged before moving to stage 40 or 50 (which I assume is next). Triggering 40 dropped me into the nether still stuck in the same animation. And the skip CS1 feature does nothing, as it stands.

Try this. Reinstall the mod and choose to install the source code.

Make sure my mod has priority on your LO.

I'm a dumbass. I'd brought over the old esp to check a change I made in the ASA outfits and it never got removed. Shockingly, the quest works fine when you are using the right plugin. :confounded:

I thought this was hilarious. I started a new character and let her go through Commonwealth Slavers (my fourth character now to do this), and after a certain upside down stage it put her in a dark area and gave the message that I strayed too far from Gristle. I looked all over and couldn't find what direction gristle was (I'm guessing he walked away before my character spawned in the new cell). Fortunately I'd saved right away.

 

After dying three times trying to figure out what direction Gristle was I hit record. I never did find Gristle, but fortunately you have a summon Gristle option. Ironically after we got to where Gristle wanted to take me the quest marker showed up on him *laughs* But that was severa; explosions late, haha.

 

 

I'm guessing you disabled the Essential status on AAF Violate death? In past playthroughs that essential status saved me when I couldn't keep up with people I was supposed to follow (often they run away much faster than I can follow or before I can figure out what direction they went, haha).

 

I really love the writing in this mod, JB. :)

I don't, but The Weapon (which I've done three times now) is one of the quests which gets stuck the most. I've had to use setstage on it every time. I once had to use the setstage to progress inside the vault and I always have to use the setstage to progress right after the vault when back in Corvega.

 

In Corvega, for instance, there's a point where the boss and one of the bombs need to talk to each other before the scene progresses with me, but they don't finish their conversation, so it all hangs. I'm going off memory, but I found I can keep resetting to the same stage until finally they talk. Something like setstage _cs_weapon 300. But that's going off memory. Eventually they talk to each other on stage reset, but never without it.

 

I also get stuck before going to the vault when I'm being interrogated by the boss when he's mad at me. It just doesn't progress, but repeating the stage eventually progresses it.

 

p.s. When I'm stuck in Commonwealth Slavers, I use the sqt command to find the name of the quest. And then I use the "sqs [quest name]" command to find what stage it's on. Then, when I'm sure it won't progress on its own (because everyone is just wandering around in idles and never progressing), I use the "setstage [quest name] [same stage as it's on currently]"

I mention the following because it also ties in with the FallSouls mod which was recommended by Nuka Ride (and which I agree is a fantastic mod). I'm doing "The Pit" in the early stage where I'm supposed to follow Big Bomb and Little Bomb into a building. Big Bomb walked in first which triggered the 18 second explosion timer, but then Little Bomb blocked the door and went in. And by the time the door was freed for me to walk in, the explosion timer triggered just as I went in the door.

 

That caught me in an infinite loop of explosions in the building. I'd die, respawn, die, respawn, die, respawn, probably around 18 times before I gave up and exited the game.

 

I could not use the Escape menu to load to an earlier point because time continues to pass with FallSouls while in the escape menu. Also for some reason this playthrough the AAF Violate Essential status is not protecting me from the explosions.

@Karna5  I wonder if the mentioned bugs are related to FallSouls. Time doesn't stop, so what I believe has happened in Gristle's case, is that he already started walking to destination after the amputation, leaving you there, so you did well using the MCM to bring him back. 

 

I have to update the main page with the latest reported incompatibilities, but I'm getting lazy.

I do think FallSouls creates all sorts of problems. It's not just the Escape  menu and the inventory menu for which time continues, but conversations also. With FallSouls, while you're reading and deciding what to do, even the person to whom you're speaking goes on doing other non-conversation things.

 

I recommend at least advising people to disable FallSouls while doing your mod(s). :) As I mentioned before, this is my fourth playthrough, and the problems are far worse this time than before. And what's new is FallSouls.

Just one more comment on something I ran into. After fifteen days, since I did the extended ending twice already, I told Gristle I just want to be freed. So he took me to Vault 111 and gave me the option to say there are no heroes. But he did not stop the collar timer, and I'm in an endless loop of saying there are no heroes and dying then saying it and dying. I'll go back to an earlier save and set the cheat to disable the explosion timer, but I don't think it was intended to have the three hour timer continue while they're giving the options.

Okay I found another unexpected issue which I think is related. I have no arms, so to do a certain completion I need to say there are no heroes, but if I use the cheat to disable my own timer, the other person's collar does not explode. I've tried four times, and we just stand there forever. I can't even use the kill console command on that person.

 

I think I'm going to have to give myself my arms back and then restore to before I spoke to gristle so I can kill her manually instead of by collar.

I just did that yesterday, wanted to get back to Nuka Ride, and the timer canceled popup was there before you regain player control.
But I was very close to Gristle before the load screen triggered. I try to keep my PC as close as possible when any loading happens. And make sure I'm in 1st person...and fingers crossed. Don't laugh, it's working so far! ;)

Hmm, I'm checking the scripts and actually this whole quest (The Hero) doesn't activate the collar/set a timer. Never. When you exit the WH to talk to Gristle you can literally run. 

 

I didn't activate it because I didn't see it as necessary anymore. At that point I doubt the player would run, the player would already be trained XD.

 

But back to the bug. Maybe the timer on another Slavers quest didn't turn off and it ended right there. Fortunately there is a cheat. I think I'm going to put this cheat in Nuka Ride too.  Fallsoul effect, perhaps? 

 

I forgot to tell you. I do not modify Violate globals. In fact I usually play with god mode on for testing purposes.

Made a small modification to the Corvega collar equip script. It now uses a imho more fitting hacked firmware and actually locks it.

That's just a NIF replacer, so no code changes. You can upload the different options to MEGA if it you want. It's located here:

The 'torture mode' is currently not utilised in the mod. Perhaps something to add in a future update/tweak?

Hmm, Kharos should add a couple of conditions so that it does not break my scenes/dialogues. 

 

    If PlayerREF.IsInScene()==0 
    If !PlayerREF.HasKeyword(AAF_ActorBusy) 

 

 

It would be great to use it. That shit won't let you sleep. It would be another interesting punishment for a rebellious character.

I've been thinking about it, and too many things went wrong this playthrough for it to be an issue with you. I agree it is likely a Fallsoul's side effect.

 

For instance, leaving to talk to gristle at the end I got a message that a 3 hour timer started. But if you don't set that, then something went wrong.

 

Likewise, when I was going through those endless loops of blowing up, I even tried the TGM command (toggle god mode), and that didn't protect me from the collar explosions. Yet you say for you it protects you. So again something went wrong.

 

When I start my next play through, if I do the Commonwealth Slavers again, I'm going to disable all the FallSoul settings completely. At least there's an MCM ability to do that.

 

Thanks again for your wonderful mod, JB. As I said before, your writing is better than most novels and movies out there and especially better than any game I can think of :)

No, wait. I have two different functions (Herding) and (StartSlaveTimer). The first one is for not moving away from a slaver and the second one is for setting a timer on the collar.  The second function is used in "The Hero". 

 

It may indeed be a bug on my part. 

 

You can see why I decided to make my third quest mod inside NR. I'm already starting to forget Slavers scripts.  ?

 

For the moment it is better to use the cheat function.

So two things.

 

First, I do believe that Dwayne fight has to have some sort of bug. I ended up adding myself some buffout, med-x, psycho, and jet just to beat him. I did, but it still told me "Your adventure ends here." It shows the death cut scene, but then immediately, I was able to progress. Not sure what actually happened. I mean, I was able to finish, so I guess all's well that ends well.

 

Second, @JB. this mod was great. The writing was fantastic, and honestly, it was far better written than the actual Fallout 4 story. The way it all tied together, the plot twists, the character development. Like aside from all the 18+ content, I would have played this for the story alone. I was half tempted to just ask for freedom and not do the "true ending" but I'm so glad I chose to do it. Got a real talent for storytelling.

Hi all, not sure if anyone will still answer, but I'm having an issue with the mod and need some help.

The game runs smoothly, but once I have the very first "whore cage" fight, the game crashes back to desktop after beating up the other slave. 

Little help?

the Dwayne issue sounds like a mod interaction bug.  if you win it should not show the death cut scene.  at least you were able to finish

 

2 options = 1 console unlock his door, 2 use a mod to be able to unlock that door ( i have Store Your Keys installed and iirc it lets me lock containers and unlock some extra doors).

by chance do you have Knockout Framework installed??  you might wan to recheck the incompatibilities section of the first post.

I did, I've unchecked it in my mods, but still same happens, crashes right after the slave is sitting on the ground
