So.. Starfield...

I must admit, the fact that they're backing away from the major things I disliked in Fo4 gives me hope for Starfield. A proper dialogue UI, no player VA, not tying you down to a specific backstory ... and Will Shen doing the quest design.

I don't want to get too hyped about the game, but from what I've seen, it's looking very promising. I think this one could be good.

I'm honestly a bit concerned about the vastness of the game. What Bethesda has always done well in my opinion (better than obsidian at that) is cramming their maps full of locations and quests, random encounters and most importantly dungeons/dungeon entrances without sacrificing immersion.

With worlds this big I just don't see how you can do that without spacing everything out to the point where it starts to feel empty.

On the bright side: There's gonna be so many depraved space stations and hidden cities by modders without running the risk of getting in each others way.

Still I'm gonna buy and play the vanilla game first on console as I've always done. If the base game isn't fun, mods can only do so much I feel like.

After the 'Paid Mods' in the 'Creation Club'. The 'Tell me Lies' scenario that was 76. And the complete scam that TES:Blades...

I'm going to wait until the honest reviews, and non-shill gameplay footage starts rolling out to even think about buying it.

Bethesda has done a lot of wrong lately; And I can only hope the the MS buyout gave them a good kick in the keester to start moving in the right direction again.

Think i will wait for reviews. And then prolly wait a year for bug fixes before i will think about trying it. It is a bethesda game after all.

It's my understanding that much of that was caused by the higher-ups from before the Microsoft purchase.

Hence why I have a smudge of optimism that they may have reversed course with the 'anti-consumer bullshit'.

I know it's a bit of a 'necro', and sorry about that. And since this topic was already created, I didn't think it was necessary to make a new one. But...

Well after seeing this:

I have more hope than ever about the game. And good lord does it look good. I think that extra time, via the delayed release, might have paid off.

Looks like I'm going to have to make some room on my computer. Also, I'm sure we will be seeing some of those guns being ported to other games, like Fallout 4.

I had actual goosebumps during that first person tour of the spaceship, it seemed so realistic..

And this game is coming out before TES 6...

Just think of how good that game is going to look. I really hope they bring some of the same exploration and customization over to TES 6 with our own ship that was can sail around the Iliac bay, that we get, not just Hammerfell to explore, but also part or all of High Rock.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Especially after the only 'comparison' being the 45 minute 'Cyberpunk 2077 "gameplay" reveal', and what actually released. But maybe the MS buyout had some influence. We shall see.

Actually I'm kinda hoping a Fallout gun will be ported into Starfield myself. Let's just say I have a 'borderline unhealthy love' for 'This Machine' A.K.A. the 'M1 Garand'. I just love that rifle.

Yeah, as soon as I saw that ship building segment, I was thinking: "The 'Event Horizon' will be mine... Oh yes. It will be mine." Líbera temet ex ínferis

We gotta see the creation kit. To see the new capabilities for modding and what to expect for next TES and FO installments. FO4 creation kit was released 7 months after the game's initial release.

I wonder if that's what part of the delay with Starfield was about. Making sure there were mod tools ready for release either on or shortly after the game's release. That in addition to whatever else they needed to work on.

My guess is that a few years after the release and hundreds of mods installed it will be a decent looter shooter.

That, or it will look like just about every version of Fallout 4 or Skyrim that has been 'touched' by this site; Like a full on, 'universe of porn'.

Maybe FO76 and FO4 were meant to lower our expectations so that when this one is released, we will be super happy!!!????

It does look good, so as soon as it comes down to a reasonable price on Steam, I may have to get it.....and once some mods start showing up.

So something like the thinking in this:

Disappoint people enough so their bar is lowered to a point that when something actually good comes out, they are pleasantly surprised.

I guess that is one way to do things. But it's not a very good way. Because along that particular path, there is more dips, than there is smooth road. Figuratively speaking.

I'm sure there will be some Warhammer mods in there.. at least I certainly hope so, it would be too fitting...

Blowing stuff away with Boltguns, or Lasguns,.. or Plasma weapons...

And of course, how could I possibly forget the sex mods?

I know there was one mod a long time ago for Fallout: New Vegas, that added Necron Gauss weapons. I would love to see a return of those. But then again I'm the kind of 'asshole' that only plays the Necrons. You know the type no one wants to play against because it becomes a game of "Invuln' rolls" and people start rage quitting.

That sandwich collector. I think I fell in love with her. My kind of person.

She actually reminded me of a potion collector I once saw a YT vid on. Seen here:

Anyway, I did a thing and pre-ordered the Constellation edition. AU$499 plus shipping = AU$518.00

Hopefully EB Games will have enough stock allocation that I get my limited edition watch.

I was never able to get the Fallout 4 Pipboy or the Fallout 76 Pipboy. Always sold out.

28:48 gives me the impression that they have been paying attention to Skyrim and Fallout mods. That certainly will spare anyone from having to add a banditry or piracy mod like Outlawz or Wanderer's Heart now.
