The game refuses to get their aliases like you said JB but everyone is alive and well, Mags doesn't talk to me at all (even if I try to talk to her before the quest is "given" but I think that's intended since I don't fill the conditions for her "welcome to NUKA World" vanilla dialogue)

 

 

It only occurs to me that one of two things is happening.

 

Either a mod is modifying Mags (changing her for another variant and making the original one disappear) or you have a mod that is reserving Mag, disabling my mod from being able to use her. (And probably the same is the case with William).

 

Either case, there is clear interference and you should consider disabling mods.

 

A quick test:


Load a new save, out of the Vault (I think even works in pre-war scenario). Write:

StartQuest _NukaRide_Music
SetStage _NukaRide_Music 10

 

If it still won't start, it's definitely another mod messing around.

Here is a solution offered by one radio modder.  I haven't used it yet, but he makes a compelling case if NR radio is suffering from the silence bug:

What Was the Radio Silence Bug?

The radio silence bug was essentially a issue that would happen when you were not listening to a radio station and the game script playing it would eventually start playing all the tracks one immediatly after another every 1 second until it just stopped playing everything all together. Now CDante fixed this by engineer a invisible radio that would play the music but silently and had it spawn at the player every 30 seconds and would delete the last radio spawned so in effect the music was never not playing in game which avoided this bug. Now what I did is I went over the vanilla radio stations and exactly duplicated them. What I found is that every radio mod on nexus does not have a NPC "speaker" but all of the bethesda radio stations that work does have a NPC "Speaker". Meaning there is a NPC in the game at all times that is silently playing the radio from them but no audio is heard. In the institute this is a synth in the back you can talk to and this synth actually does a destruction count down as well. Effectively this system circumvents the issue via also having the radio station being played and heard its similar to what CDante did but I did it the way Bethesda did since that method was easier and required no additional scripts. That being said yes there are 2 NPC's added to the game that are the actual DJ's of the radio stations that I added you may find them you may not.

As a bonus I also included a option to reset the radio stations if you do run into any radio silence issue. This is only a emergency backup and is not required but makes a lore friendly in game way to fix the issue should it come up for any reason and is built into the holotape used to find the new radio stations.

Hi All, I've been away doing some upgrades to my PC and I've missed like 25 pages of posts.  I just wanted to check, have there been any updates since 4.24?  Something @JB. or anyone else updated that hasn't been included in the download from Mega? 

 

I'm just getting ready to restart a game so I wanted to check in quick.  Gonna keep scanning backwards, but wow, the thread was more active than I expected in the past 33 weeks or so!!

If you read the first page there are some work arounds to get fah ra what ever its called to work right......that is about it....and maybe a plug in to get the radio working again for those that can't get it to work anymore.

I appreciate the link to the deleted Japanese house mod. Out of curiosity, since the mod is deleted, how do you normally access the house vanilla-wise/unrelated to Nuka Ride? Is it a blueprint or a landscape change? Where?

 

On the topic of glitches, I met Adolf and we loaded into our adventure in the basement, but he spawned so far away nothing happened. I reloaded to where I met him again, same problem. Once we loaded into the basement he spawned again against the far wall. I console-commanded him to my location, and that solved it.

 

I and Music entered the shop first time, she said she could do some stuff for me, I sat in the chair, but she only kept saying, "Sit in the chair". I'm guessing that might be related to her not being quite ready (quest-wise) to do nails or add/remove tatts at that point. What should have happened there?

 

Otherwise I am floored by the mod. It has so much content so far I can't even imagine how long it must have taken to get this far.

Thanks, already did the F4z Ro D-oh install and fix and it's working great, I never really use the radio, but I'll play with it as I go through NR.

There are two chairs, one for nails  to the right when you enter and the wooden one for piercings in the middle of the floor at this point.  Make sure you sit in the correct one.

Just had this problem. No suit. No Overboss. I rolled back and definitely heard everything that Charlotte had to say, but as it turns out the quest itself never kicked off to ready myself for the trip. I have noticed that a lot of AAF scenes one after the other tend to bog down the game. Quitting and reloading solved that so far. Texture loading is sometimes a problem too if the custom asset is dropped into the scene like the Overbosses car - once that scene ended, the landscape around Abernathy was low rez. lol Nothing a reload didn't solve.

Hmm, no as that is a Bethseda Radio station so it should be configured the same as the Institute, diamond city and minutemen radios.     I know that the silence bug affects most of the radio mods that used the cookie cutter approach to build the mod (like I did for mine), so if you have a mod that affects that radio station, that might be the issue.

Edit: Indeed, I missed removing one last slot. I'll fix it for the next version.

I've just stumbled upon this bug playing version 4.2.4. I couldn't equip the Jaguar Helmet for Cito's quest. After console-removing the tongue piercings, I could wear the Jaguar Helmet normally. I was wearing the 'normal' tongue piercing, not the gold version.

 

(Also, thanks for the mod, it's a wild ride!)

JB. NR V 4.2.4

I have been having an issue of porn star tattoos getting removed by the cleansing kit, and BYOP showers.

I checked my MCM shower settings and they are ok, does not remove tattoos I overlayed when I built my P/C any ideas, is anyone else having this issue??

Also since the update to the latest version the tattoos are no longer in the looks menu so I cannot reinstall them, but every shower or cleanse with kit removes them anyway..... Thanks for all your time and effort!

Maybe the script for that mod runs some instance of Looksmenu, because it's not the first time it's happened. I did not modify anything, I only put the shower at the request of the users. If it happens with my tattoos it will happen with tattoos from other mods.

 

If I remember correctly, there is a patch so that the shower also removes the cum overlays, right? Do you have that? If you have it let me know. Maybe the problem originates there.

 

If you want to see the tattoos in Looksmenu, go to Data\F4SE\Plugins\F4EE\overlays\Nuka Ride.esp

 

Go into the file and change all "false" to "true".


There are 29 "false". With Notepad++ you change them in a second.

 

I did it this way because there are tattoos that I would like to be unlockable, and it loses a bit of fun when you have them all available. But if another mod hurts that experience, you can do that ?

I noticed the Overbosses brand was removed post-PornFlake scenario. Not sure if it was intended. Rather like it. lol

I have an similar issue without even shower... After the fistfight, the tattoos were beaten out of my body and were changed into bruises (instead of additional bruises)

But since music is nearly always avaiable and cost nothing, I didn't care to much for it

I don't think it's specific to your mod, I've seen this happen on very odd occasions and as it's seems to be intermittent unfortunately not easy to reproduce and can happen whether Nuka Ride is installed or not.

 

The mods in question that may relate to this are (aside from Looksmenu)

bruh, un-fucking-believable

 

for some reason the character Earl from Atom Cat's garage was disabled by default (yes even in a brand new save) and that was preventing A New Ride from starting. I spent the entire week reading and re-reading the FO4edit and then decided to .placeatme all the characters that the mod touches.

 

Hal was ok but Earl was nowhere to be found whenever I used the command. I reenabled him and BAM, the quest automatically started after A New Name

 

I have When Freedom Calls bugged with the same occurence, the raiders from outside + deathclaw are disabled and won't spawn. I read everywhere and the culprit is one of the Creation Kit mods (Tunnel Snakes) I don't think it's related to this Nuka Ride issue but whatever my game is finally playable now. Sorry for asking too many questions these days JB, but this mod looked too good to simply give up LMFAO

 

also did you have Earl based on a Newgrounds' NSFW game character (same name, same looks, also had a bike related) very similar lol I forgot the game's name but it had to do with bikes

In the Fan letter quest, i report about fan letter to Charlotte, after short conversation, she said she give some outfit for persuade lucy's parents, in my apt.

 

but, when i go to apt in nuka world, there is nothing. only bed and some device..so i really don't know how to begin this level. i trying to solve this quest with just talking to lucy's

 

parents, but, ain't gonna work. please give some advice.

Thanks; I also lost whipping marks from OB and the brand by walking into the apartment. I like earning the tattoos the right way, just wondered about the cause and effect. Will uninstall some mods and see.

And yes to the showers removing overlays. I also lost some tatts by using skin cream on ass slap hand marks.

Turns out im hugely behind on keeping this up to date ? , if im jumping from 3.2.4 i assume its best to be going to a new game entirely? Is there much variation in fixes/content between 4XX - 3XX?

 

Thanks, Gotta admit ive been streaming it to a friend and even 3xx is super well made, really fun quirky mod ❤️

There is new content and a slightly new storyline if you tell mason you are not a vault dweller.....if you do then you are not looking for your son....so the old sugar daddy is not your son in the DC mission....makes for an interesting situation.  The story takes a dark turn in 4.xx too.  I started a new run through myself just so I would not miss anything.

I mean tbh i dont think ive played through a /huge/ amount of it yet , the only thing i'll lament is going back through alllll the MCM boomf , NAC-X  & settlements / home decorating blah blah. Its more from a stability / bugs / crash fixes / script interferences standing i guess that im asking as if 3XX is pretty solid ,If so i'll likely just carry on.Friend will likely lynch me if i start over lmao ??

You can continue your game from version 3 without problems. Just version 4 has different things in the first missions.


For example:


The protectron changed his location (and now he is sincere and offers you a job as a porn actress).
There are dancers in the Mason amphitheater.
Sullivan gives you new gifts during his quest.

 

But nothing that affects your 3.0 save.
