While I kinda like this mod, I wonder if you ever considered a version where those Thanes had some sort of basic manners? You know it pays to show some basic courtesy around someone who is a.) cooperative and b.) can easily kill you.
As is using this mod is just too much hassle for me. It always goes like this. Get designated public whore, cope with the shock, reluctantly comply. Do as you are asked, find that Thane *whoever* behaves like an utter jerk regardless. Get more and more pissed. Remove his essential flag, kill him, teleport out before the guards, Jarl, etc. lay into me fully. Wait till things calmed down, pay off the bounty ... as you see WAY to much hassle just because the Jarls decided to hire the lowest gutter rubbish for a job that requires some diplomatic skills. So a version with some Thanes that had a decent upbringing would be great. :P

I think the thanes are perfect the way they are. Besides, they have no reason to be nice to you. It's just the theme of the mod. Everyone has a different perspective on why things should be a certain way and why they shouldn't. Thanes are dicks for the same reason Joffrey is in GoT, he knows he can get away with it. Just because the hound could kill him doesn't mean he would. For obvious repercussions. And most importantly, it's the way the author envisioned them so I think we out to respect that. If it really bothers you, it's just dialogue. It would be very easy to edit to your preference in the CK.

All fine and well, but why exactly does it matter so much to you that I asked the author if he considered a variant? It's not that I demanded any changes or wanted the mod to change for everyone. I'm well aware enough people seem to like it as is. I simply asked for a different version. VD can say no, and I can consider making one for myself anyway. Or he can say yes, and you can still enjoy your version with 'Dick Thanes'. (Who btw can not get away with their behavior, as I proved at least three times so far with no real repercussions aside from an insignificant amount of gold lost ... obviously killing "Dick Thanes" is not really frowned upon in Skyrim. ^^)

Guarantee you threw the mod in during an existing playthrough. Start a new game or don't complain when things don't work.

That one was actually pretty busted, but the newest upload should have fixed it.

I've gotten that they're too nice as well during one of the beta tests so I've attempted to settle for condescending. Their dialogue was written over like a year so I'm surprised they have any consistency at all.

There's basically three ways to approach the mod, weak character, enthusiastic character, and strong character. One mannerism must be used that best fits each of those, as to avoid an insane amount of dialogue branching. I personally think cold and condescending is what best fits for all three approaches. Why be nice to a weak pc, or show any respect to a pc that acts like a shameless whore? As for a strong character, you could say they realize how powerful the pc is and feel they need to remind her who is in charge. Similar to how you're supposed to make yourself look big if you encounter a mountain lion. The mountain lion could tear you to pieces but you hope it doesn't realize that. It's fair to assume that a strong PC wouldn't put up with that sort of behavior, but then again there is an option to intimidate the Thane so that your character doesn't get put in that situation in the first place. A strong character that puts up with being declared public whore, but not able to put up with a few remarks just doesn't make sense to me. Plus if you have to console cheat to accomplish killing the thane and escape the guards, it kind of proves my point that the pc knows she wouldn't be able to handle the fallout, therefore has no choice but to bite her tongue and accept it. But, the real reason it matters to me is that I'd much rather see other things done to the mod. Sure it would be nice to have some more variety but is it worth it?

You lost your guarantee.  And you should have read my comment before insulting about it. You know  what LAL is ?

The actual version to download mcm does show up on a new game and on an existing game on saves, that have been made before pw was added. At saves in which PW was added mcm does not show up. That is interesting and unique.  i installed PW together with SLPrivacy and SS++.

You mean, you really fixed all the bugs listed ? In that short time ? Puh, i believe when i see, start testing soon.

Edit : first Impresion : mcm does not show up .     LE   LAL standard

Seems like an issue on your end, new game MCM and existing save MCM both works fine for me.

Visio, could you make an mcm option that ss++ does not lead to forced mode ?    Or that forced mode does allow leaving city ?

A question about bandit quest. How is it handle if there are bandits outside the dungeon, which is mostly the case ? Inside the dungeon often there are only a few bandits, doing 8 x sex then means 4x with the same bandit (or the dog).

Okay, I tried the new version with a new game. ActorManager doesn't seem to work right from the start.

May I suggest to revert to the old code (v1.1.0) which seemed to work but tended to break after some time, and give us an option to somehow restart this module from MCM?

ScreenShot2.bmp 5.45 MB · 1 download ScreenShot4.bmp 5.45 MB · 1 download

Working on it now. I'm not used to MO2 and some of the stuff didn't go where I expected. Just found the missing files though.

ActorManager uses a power to grab actors now and the script on it wasn't included; I think once it is it will be more reliable

Fixed version is up, 1.1.2

Upgrading from 1.1.1 does not require a clean save

Upgrading from anything else does

How stable is it? And how script heavy?

Most of the scripts are dialogue topic scripts, but as for it's performance I can't say. I don't actually use my mod lol

This fixed the issue I was having with the previous version where the mcm would not appear no matter what.
Thanks :D

Hello, I have a problem with bandits, when I save near them and I have already taken a quest, then after uploading to this save they become aggressive, I tried to move away from them so that they lose me and return to them, but they remain aggressive, Skyrim se.

I'm trying out this mod for the first time (I'm on latest AE patch with most recent SexLab and compatible mods). I have this issue with the Belathor advertising quest:

Spoiler

For some reason when Vilkas wants to start his scene with my PC an invisible copy of me spawn behind the counter and SexLab triest to start a human/horse scene which made everyone stand still waiting for a scene that wasn't playing to finish.

Using SexLab Tools I was able to change it to stage 5 so it would end so the Companion would approach me.

bild.thumb.png.fd39ea5ffbc84bb6febcbe4bee5e963d.png

But it is still playing another human/horse scene and the Companion is just standing there.

bild.thumb.png.0a049f38e6f7ecbda52a8aa37a517c4d.png

Dunno what causes this, so thought I'd just let you know. I've tried reloading a few times, but it keeps happening. After the scene plays out Vilkas remains in the shop and the quest is soft-locked.

Edit: I tried doing Adrianne the smith instead to see what would happen. I finished getting the scroll for her and the textbox says she snaps a collar on me but when the quest log says I completed it I still have her scroll and no collar on my neck.

ooh, I think the LE version you put up yesterday sent me into a tailspin of crashing.  I thought it was maybe hitting the animation limit after Billy's update, but that was only a few new animations so it seemed unlikely.  I was afraid that save was toast and was going to start a new game today but saw your update and voila, no more crashing.  (Well, no more than usual.)

Now that's a detail about that bug I haven't seen yet. Very odd.

Is it safe to update from 1.0 to 1.1.2 SSE mid-save?

I doubt it, 1.0 is pretty old and a lot of major changes/ optimizations have been made since then.

It probably isn't safe, but a clean save will reduce problems.

That is, load without PW, save, load with the new PW. If PW doesn't work properly after that, though, I'd switch back.

In case you dont know this one.....

I've seen it but not sure what it would add. Seems like it'd require rearranging the intros to utilize it.
