Hey Bad Dog,

Your mod is what motivated me to get back into Fallout 4 earlier this week so I'll be sure to give it some extensive testing. The furrifier script was working really well in the previous version, that's for sure. (Made a bunch of patches already)

UPDATE: Couple hours later, been travelling through some busy towns, went to various interiors and so far smooth sailing. Downtown Boston's just fine as well, an area which previously tended to be rather CTD-prone for me. Also used the new furrifier script to update my patches and that too worked without issues. Awesome job.

Good. Yeah, I was locked out of Hangman's Alley for a while because of a repeatable CTD in the area. But I haven't seen that with this version.

The furrifier will have a few minor updates to deal with kids and to give old people old people head textures. (Just gray around the muzzle and eyebrows, nothing fancy. I'm hoping it will work okay with the skin tinting.)

For the kids, I may have to make kid heads and they're going to have to be changed to their parent races. Kid heads to make the neck seam match--some of the outfits won't hide it. Parent races because it's not just the morphs, it's the face patterns. I suppose I could not worry about face patterns. And maybe do minor edit to clothes that expose the seam, like a neck scarf. But really, making a head variant is pretty quick.

So are y'all gonna tell me that if I have furry porno mags in my mod I have to put them in an addon?

You could make a poll or something, but I'd like for it to just be part of the mod. Maybe part of the Furry NPCs mod so that the furrified people come with furrified objects.

I guess it depends on how those are set up.

Are they replacers for some of the vanilla magazines, or entirely new records? Because if it's the former they'd have to go into the NPC addon (alongside the other furrified magazines/billboards/posters). If it's the latter, I'd still put them in the NPC addon, but in theory they could also be offered as part of the main mod file, I guess.

It's Hashi's mags posted on one of the discords. They gave me permission to use them. I'm gonna put them in bandit hideouts and such--places you might find porno mags--and have them give buffs like the vanilla mags. So you have to pick them up to really see what's on them. And ya, they'll go in the NPC file with all the furry world assets.

So, quite a few hours later... Still not an awful lot to report. About the only thing I noticed were the neck seams on kids, alongside their skin colour not matching the fur. (But these are known issues, right?) I came across this while telling the kids about my stories in Vault 81.

Otherwise I had a single occasion where a naked male was missing their torso model once fully looted but sadly forgot to take a screenshot. I am using Armorsmith Extended so that could be causing that one rare error, as well.

Also yay for more art to spice up my post-apocalyptic world with.

If they are the SFM models of popular culture characters with magazine cover edits, I'd say very much a separate addon, what with lore and all that.

K thx, she's looking better now.

I found a bug in the furrifier head morph code that (I think) was causing these screwy morphs. It's better now.

In other news, I've reassigned races to the companions so they are all different. You'll be glad to know Cait is a hyena now and I made MacReady a cheetah because I couldn't tell him and Deacon apart.

For the future (I'm not doing ghouls in this version! Not!): I'm thinking about making the ghouls scalies. The whole ghoul thing is over-the-top stupid anyway, it's got nothing to do with post-atomic-holocaust dystopian future, and they're ugly. And boring. I'm thinking keep the dog/cat/ungulate basic head shape but put scales on, sorta-somewhat like the scaly dog that's on the discords rn. Maybe with bone showing through or at least with the skin tight over the bones on the face, no soft parts. When I come back to this I'll play about with options and see if I can come up with something reasonable.

About ghouls, do you mean something like Nightstalker?

Yeah, like that first one. Canine/feline/ungulate-ish head shape but with scales, maybe not completely scaled.

So... basically existing race(s), but with alt textures that have scales and bare skin/bone instead of fur? Or something further involving edited/new meshes and assets or whatever?

And for the record, Nightstalkers are rattlesnake/coyote hybrids which have rattlesnake heads and tails with coyote ears and body. They were in New Vegas and the Old World Blues DLC explains how they came to be, they aren't just someone's Original The Race, Donnut Steel.

So a hypothetical proper Nightstalker race would need a (anthro) snake head but with canine ears, as well as a rattlesnake tail. But sounds like the "main" inspiration you're getting from there is the blend of skin/fur and scales and not so much the NS race itself, so that's why I wonder.

I like nightstalkers and think they're criminally underrated, and I've also wanted a NS race mod for a long while now; but there's no point in bugging you about it if it's not the kind of thing you had in mind, lol.
