You can adjust the manifest modifiers under mcm->patcher to low percentages if it is happening too frequently.

You can also bump up the cooldown multiplier percentage under custom devices.

Adjusting these should slow down UD from spamming you with devices.... you know...if that is really what you want....:)

But in general if NPC's get devices they come from your other mods, Cursed Loot perhaps or Enchanted chests, Devious Carriages, Devious Strike... i'm not sure what you have installed. All those mods usually have an option to disable follower support (not equip things on them when trap happens for example).

 

There is also a hotkey to register NPC/follower to the mod so that she will automatically struggle out of them without your help.

 

.. oh there is 1 other matter, UD does change poison dart traps in dungeons. If anyone gets hit by them it will equip a lot of hard devices.

The log seems to be pretty normal. 

 

1. The classic solution remains. Try the minimum workable mod build with UD. Hopefully everything will be fine there, and you can add mods until it breaks again.

 

2. On Skyrim LE I've encountered a problem with the encoding of json files. Legendary Edition only worked with UTF-8 w/o BOM files, and since then all "UDStruggle_***.json" files are in that encoding. Hypothetically, for some wild reason, your SSE build may refuse to work correctly with this encoding.
Try saving some file in UTF-8 with BOM encoding and see if animations will appear from there.

I'm trying to struggle out of the bound cunt collar and use the magic option (my char is a mage) but during the struggling animation only the stamina bar on the right gets used. Why? I have no chance with my stamina number.

Also is that thing regenerating health/condition while worn? I reduced it wtice now and it is only at 98% health.

You should see the blue bar loweting too. Might not if you have some crazy bosts to magika regeneration.

 

Are you landing crits? When your character glows green or blue you should press D or A for damage bost on the cunt collar.

 

If you are not seeing them and you are blindfolded: make sure you start the struggle in 1st person. Some mods hinders what the character see when blindfolded and in 3rd person and that might cause you not to see your glowing.

 

If you don't know what I'm talking about regarding the crits, then you need to read struggling instructions in Unforgiving devices mod.

No. My stamina runs out in like 3-5 seconds and the struggle ends in exhaustion so no time for crits.

Did you have god mode enabled?

TGM in the console.

Maybe but then the stamina shouldn't run out, no?

I will test if it makes a difference. Edit: Yes I was. Still strange that the stamina runs out then and that the collar regenerates faster than I can damage it.

But I really saw no crits. The bars run out too fast.

Yeah I had the same thing happen a few hours ago, no idea why stamina drains but magica doesnt when god mode is on, maybe its how to mod is programmed or something.

Are you maybe debuffed by some other mods? How much stamina do you have, what is the stamina regen stat value? You can check the amount in the spelltree menu, and regen from console. Click player and browse the list to see actor values using Shift key.

680 magicka, 1.5 Magicka rate, 240 stamina, 3.5 stamina rate, 100 staminaRatemult

Haven't changed any mod settings either

I have an issue where the mod is stuck in updating, it doesn't move from Update Progress 16. It seems to happen if you load/reload (or crash in my case) while it's updating as it does everytime you load a save.

 

Is there a way to "kickstart" or force it to continue or restart the update as the only way to solve this now is to find a save from before it got stuck and play from there which can be a long time ago...

I have this issue too. Same symptoms, menu is locked saying it is updating or disabled. Devious Devices are broken, can't interact or start struggling with them. I can start the minigame via help with an NPC, but it is broken and the device has no durability bar. I also no logner get the 'Unforgiving Devices is updating' message at the bottom of the screen when loading a save.

 

I've noticed a few other people on the forums + GitHub having this issue too from around mid 2024 to present. Is there any fix yet, or a way to 'reset' the mod?

You can reset the updating using quest variables.

 

Open the console and enter:

 

SETPQV UD_Main _Updating_var False

 

For good measure also:

 

SETPQV UD_Main _Disabled_var False

 

Then the usual save and reload. Should fix it.

 

A more persistent fix  after "unstucking" seems to be to update iwantwidgets to the NG version.

I have two questions:

 

  • On the NPC menu, what does "Undo Persist" do?
  • I want to register a follower, but I do not want said follower to attempt removing devices by themselves. How can I set it up?

How to choose a device to struggle from? I have yoke equipped by DevInterests and piercing which had been equipped before. Cant struggle out of yoke cause only option given is to struggle out of piercing.

Hello, not sure if this has been addressed before as a bug, but I have 2 chastity keys and it always keeps giving me the message "You are too exhausted, try again later" I don't understand why I can't seem to lockpick or unlock my chastity belt? Struggling still works though.

UD NB requires DD NG, Skyrim SE/AE, OSL Aroused, patches have to be generated using Synthesis.

Also note that Slaverun Reloaded is very heavy mod.

Just a request for a the future update:

 

Would it be possible to give more player control over the timelock feature. I love the idea of it, but it seems to be pretty limited with 2.1.2. It doesn't come up often, and usually with chastity devices. I would love to change the chance of timelock being applied to any item. I would also love to be able to adjust the time locked as well. It seems that 1 or 2 hours is the only result at this point. I would love to be able to adjust this more for longer periods of time.

Do not use NB unless you are on the Discord and have also indev of DDNG. The version 3.0 is still indev, and the NB should be not used by people on LL. Its mainly intended for people on Discord who help testing the indev version. I will probably have to add some kind of check to UD, so it will throw error if user does not use DDNG. So:

DO NOT USE NIGHTLY BUILDS UNLESS YOU ARE ALSO ON DISCORD AND READ THE DETAILS THERE

You would be surprised, but it seems to me most users actually have the timelock option, so I didnt really give it that much thought. Still, you can actually change this setting in Patcher tab in MCM. Note that this only affect newly patched devices. So abadon devices will stay the same.

So you can struggle for the belt, but cant access the locks ? What struggle option are you using ? If you are using Helpless option, it does not require stamina so that might be why it works

Persistent NPCs will be kept registered even if you leave cell in which they are (so they can actually escape device even if you are in different location). All NPC registered by auto scan are non persistent. I added this option so you make the NPC you registered to automatically unregister once you leave the cell. This way that NPC will not try to escape if you are away
  • Currently there is no way to do it, but I was thinking of adding some dialogues for this so player can prevent NPC from struggling.
