From what I understand GIMP is watered-down free version of photoshop so I'm sure the names/termanology is a bit off When i open a .DDS in GIMP I get this notice and I say "Okay" Then once I am finished with the edits to the .DDS I will select File -> Export As Select the location of the .DDS that you are modofying and Replace (overwrite) At this point GIMP will pop up a window for the settings of the .DDS export and these 3 values are important Compression: should always be BC3 / DXT5 Use perceptual error metric: On or Off depending on the way the .DDS you are editing was setup... I will always have it checked but if G1tRePack.exe gives me an error message I will uncheck it and that usually resolves the issue Minimap: Enable Minimaps I hope this answers you question or at least gives an idea how you need your photoshop settings need to look well man ... i use the Adobe Photoshop and in the edition of DDS ... this program generate this menu ...
Joe Average Posted February 2, 2021 Posted February 2, 2021 I took the wet clothes part of pc26a_wet.g1t and placed it inside my tan Serri mod. Then I took parts/referenced the Ryza and Klaudia wet shirt mods. Created a wet and tan Serri pc26b_model.g1t (Please note that you need pc26b_model.elixir.gz for this to work as intended) edit: wanted to give photo mode a try for better presentation of the mod 5
nothingworksfuck Posted February 2, 2021 Posted February 2, 2021 have you tried using the gust_g1t.exe to repack the files? @k0kelivecl

I followed your advice to use the GIMP ... but the original DDS I edited it in photoshop transforming it into a .png with transparency ... I opened that file in the GIMP and saved it in DDS with the recommended configuration ... then I entered it in the pc20d_model that I had in the G1tRePack which I got a message from DTX1 ... DTX5 ... I thought I think it is I don't know a direct x error ... but I tried it and it worked without problems ... here I leave the mod that I made ... in reality it is simply the mod that the Japanese ryza gal did but with the hair and the original color skin I am under the impression that GIMP is just a worse version of Photoshop that is free. My intention was not to sugest the use of GIMP, I only ment to say that is how I do it (because I do not own Photoshop). I suggest searching through the beginning of the forum for the first Ryza game (https://www.loverslab.com/topic/132178-atelier-ryza-ever-darkness-and-the-secret-hideout/) where we had to learn how to modify the .DDS files. I am using the same exact methods from the previous game with no issue. I skimmed thru the first several pages and saw this picture. Does it help at all? I also saw some talk of converting the .dds to a .png for editing then converting back to .dds when finished 1
hotNess16 Posted February 2, 2021 Author Posted February 2, 2021 So I did the recovery thing @nothingworksfuck and it fixed my game thank you. But I don't know why my mods stopped working. The only mod that works rn are the mods in the mods folder. The Ryza see through mod doesn't work anymore for some reason. And for some reason, one of Serri's costumes is see through even before installing that Serri mod from this thread. I also don't remember why I have two data folders and what to do with the extra data folder. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.
RyuUzuki Posted February 2, 2021 Posted February 2, 2021 Here is the button mod for updated version. Dont really understand why they decided to randomly change the order of the letters in an update that has nothing to do with that. PS4input v4.rar
nothingworksfuck Posted February 2, 2021 Posted February 2, 2021 I think you are confusing the game as to what file to read honestly. When you unpack those .pak files, you should rename the .pak file so the game doesnt try to read that as well as all the unpacked files that are in your data folder. It seems you have some duplicate files too. I would just move all those extra files somewhere else and keep them as a backup. I dont have many mods so I'm not sure why the serri is invisible. I renamed mine to .bak so it changes the format, that way i know the game is reading files from the x64 folder and not the pak files eg: PACK00_O2.PAK.bak. I think the game prioritizes reading those .pak files.

Joe Average Posted February 2, 2021 Posted February 2, 2021 @hotNess16 Based on the last of the pictures that you posted showing your files, you have a "data" folder inside the "...\Steam\steamapps\common\Atelier Ryza 2\Data" folder. If you merge the data folders it may fix the issue. There appears to be some confusion on what to do about the game update so some people's mods are not working or behaving strangely. Personally I keep a copy of all the mods for the game out of the game's folder directly. This will also make reapplying the mods after updates more simple. These are the steps that I took when I saw that there was an available update for the game... 1.) deleted "...\Steam\steamapps\common\Atelier Ryza 2\Data\x64\character" folder that was created when using gust_pak.exe 2.) copied PACK00_02.PAK.bak to another location and labeled it for potentially referencing these older files in the future. 3.) renamed PACK00_02.PAK.bak to PACK00_02.PAK so that it can be updated - now the "...\Steam\steamapps\common\Atelier Ryza 2\Data" folder is untouched besides the gust tools that can stay here - 4.) update game - at this point you can just follow the orginal method for installing mods - 5.) click-and-drag PACK00_02.PAK onto gust_pak.exe 6.) move the "data" folder just created in "...\Steam\steamapps\common\Atelier Ryza 2\Data" back to "...\Steam\steamapps\common\Atelier Ryza 2" and merge the Data folder 7.) rename PACK00_02.PAK to PACK00_02.PAK.bak so that the game will read the Data fold contents instead of the PACK00_02.PAK 8.) select the mods that you wish you reapply to the game and overwrite the files in the game directory - there may be some excessive steps but I prefer working with a "clean" set of files after an update to avoid potential issues -

Not sure why its only this mod. My other mods work fine. Edit: The mod does work it's just that the preview is glitched for this costume for whatever reason.
Joe Average Posted February 2, 2021 Posted February 2, 2021 @hotNess16 When you unpack PACK00_02.PAK it will create "...\Steam\steamapps\common\Atelier Ryza 2\Data\data\x64\character". By default there is no "character" folder within "...\Steam\steamapps\common\Atelier Ryza 2\Data\x64". That is what we are creating when we use gust_pak.exe on PACK00_02.PAK My pc26b_model.g1t Serri mods are intended for "...\Steam\steamapps\common\Atelier Ryza 2\Data\x64\character\pc26b" so that it pairs with pc26b_model.elixir.gz If the pc26b_model.g1t was renamed to pc26a_model.g1t and placed in the "...\Steam\steamapps\common\Atelier Ryza 2\Data\x64\character\pc26a" folder it will likely cause errors because pc26a_model.elixir.gz is not the same model as pc26b_model.elixir.gz. I cannot think of any reason why the mod would not work when overwriting pc26b_model.g1t inside the "...\Steam\steamapps\common\Atelier Ryza 2\Data\x64\character\pc26b" folder. Has anyone else been having issues with my Serri mods?

I think that you have some misunderstanding of basic windows stuff. So 1 thing everybody says to do to rename the pak files to add the BAK extensions, but with your pictures you can't do that because your extensions don't show in windows because you have a program associated with pak files. So in windows explorer click on view then options, in the Folder Options that opens up click on view and in the advanced settings box, there will be an options that says hide extensions for known types. Disable that and click ok. Now you will see that the file names will have a .PAK after them, that will enable you to rename the extension. So first thing start fresh, in the Atelier RYza 2/Data folder delete the data folder, x64 folder and all those Original PAK you did, you can delete the json files also you probably won't need them. Now go into steam and do the file integrity thing to restore to normal state. Now if you try it your game will work like normal. Now what you can do is create a copy of the x64 folder something like x64 - Backup, so if you ever need to return to a normal state you can easily delete the x64 folder and rename the Backup one to just x64 (along with restoring the BAK extensions to PAK). Now drag PACK00_01.PAK & PACK00_04_01.PAK (at least for the PS4 buttons mod) on gust_pak.exe this will create a data folder inside your Data folder. Now I think this where you are getting confused. If you remember when we did the fresh start the game paths are like this: Atelier Ryza 2\Data\x64 and this is how the game will want them to be, but when you unpack the PAK files it creates the data folder at the same level as the PAK files so you have Data\data\x64, this obviously not correct so when we are talking about merging the folders, what you need to do is select the second data folder inside Data\ and do a right-click button -> Cut (or Ctrl+X), now go one folder higher (Atelier Ryza 2) and Paste (Ctrl+V), this will merge the data folder. So when you go inside the Data folder you should have only a x64 folder (and your backup one). if you browse the content of the x64 folder you will see it contains a lot more folder and files that the backup one you did, these are the unpacked files, but the game will still not use them yet. To make the game use the unpacked files you need to rename the original PAK files, what is the easiest is just to add a .BAK after them so you have the original files and you can easily restore them. Then you can go and replace the files in the x64 folder and your mods should work. Now is the topic of updates, and what I believe messed up your mods, the game will update the PAK files is there is any update, it could change any number of files (like the mainfont we had from version 1.1 that messed up the text). if you update normally the game will probably download the PAK files and if you just rename them or delete them the unpacked files you had from the previous version are still there, but it won't use the right files version (most will probably not change, but you will have problems somewhere). So what I suggest before installing the update, is go into you Data folder delete your x64 folder with your mods, rename the Backup one to x64. Remove the .BAK extensions from your files, and then update. After the update redo the above, backup the x64 folder, and unpack the PAK files again and reapply the modded files and rename the PAK files to BAK. Or you could just forego doing a backup of the x64 folder, unpack the newly updated PAK files, merge the data folder replacing all the files, reapply your mods and rename the PAK file to BAK after that.

There are a lot of new "elixir.gz" files for facial expression and body movement that were added. This results in horrible distortion of the model when the characters move. I do not know how to edit the "model.elixir.gz" properly myself but based on other games, I believe the bones and grip points are different between Ryza 1 and Ryza 1.
