(I just tell people I'm a programmer and run/make websites as a freelancer.) A constant source for my depression... as I never feel like I do enough for the site and should be more active considering my position. Something I'm proud to have built, but nobody I actually know will ever know me for it.

Most people won't admit to having had anything to remotely do with it and will bad mouth it to all of their morally upright friends, family and associates yet they probably know far more about it (and enjoy part of it) more than they would dare ever let on. It might even be how they came across a bit of SFW material which they shared with said morally upright lot. Conversely, there are others who speak of it openly to flaunt their counter-culture credit whether or not they actually walk the walk as well as they talk the talk or if they are just posers.

It can refer to adult male or even female. It's slang.
