What really makes you happy?

Wow, my district's senator of all people introduced this bill. Who knew? If it turns out not to be a total clusterfuck in the fine print maybe I'll actually vote for him next time (I backed the libertarians last time).

Though it is a bit of a sad commentary that we 'Mericans have such low expectations for our Congress that a member only has to do one thing of relevance to seem better than average.

After what was a bit of a drought for me personally I suddenly have a large que list of upcoming games to look forward to. Granted the only AAA one is DOOM: Eternal, but the indie and smaller dev industry looks to be coming for my personal tastes for a while. Will likely be sometime into next year until the list wears out, so that is something to be happy about?

As strange as it sounds I was actually disappointed to see Jack Thompson lose his license as a lawyer. You couldn't ask for a better enemy: he was a complete buffoon who did nothing but damage to his own agenda while the gaming industry largely ignored him. There were some court cases he was involved with that could have had serious consequences for the American gaming community. Cases he derailed with his own unprofessional conduct. So I honestly liked the moron in a "don't interrupt your enemy while they are making a mistake" kind of way.

Anita on the other hand: don't let the door hit you. It will likely be still years to come before the AAA western gaming industry realizes bending the knee to her brand of rhetoric generates negative profits. You can succeed despite of going woke, but you won't succeed in benefit for going woke.

PS: Contrary to popular belief Anita never actually got to give a speech to the UN. She gave a speech one of an infinite number of UN lobbyist groups that just happened to occur in the UN building. A speech that for all intents and purposes bombed out.

Huh, got that confused momentarily with Unicorn Riot. (look it up. I ain't linking to that shit here)

It isn't much wonder that Jeremy has a thot problem. It was a thot who got him banned from MTG.

I understand his point, though. Stop exploiting thirsty teenage boys.

Jeremy has nothing on Gundam when it comes to hostility towards thots. Even though he seems to watch them regularly. As for ZU, she got slammed by one of the very dancers she claims she was defending. Which puts a smile on my face. :classic_biggrin: I just love it when SJWs' arguments draw hostility from the very people they claim they're representing. It utterly destroys their arguments and leaves them looking like the ignorant fools they really are.

Culture war porn.

You'd think I'd be tired of it all already, having lived through the Moral Majority days, the Tipper Gore days, the Sistah Souljah days, the Flag Burning/One man, One Woman days, but there's something about this seemingly never ending, slow motion train wreck that draws me like a moth to flame...

God Damnit. I can't leave it alone.

I have been worried, as I grew older (first past 40, now very close to 46) that my taste in women was kind of 'stuck'.. I never could find myself interested or even attracted to older women.. in fact I remember being 35 and not being interested in any type of woman of my age (including my wife at the time).. anything below 30 just wasn't interesting in the slightest. And as my relationship with my wife deteriorated I found myself wondering.. will my taste in women every grow? Or will I become one of those sad old geezer guys, always longing for younger women?

But in the past year something miraculous has happened, it's almost like a second puberty or something.. I find myself almost repulsed by young women.. their 'emptiness' and their usually bland expressions and content just.. annoys the fuck out of me. When younger women flirt with me (it happens) instead of being baited I find myself playing with them in a way more akin to teasing that this is something they'll never get, other than how I used to feel inside (like a horny puppy ready to fuck anything that will let me).

This has been growing and changing in the past 6 months.. I'm TOTALLY into cougars and older women.. women with experience that know what they want, need and like.. And what's even weirder is that the more 'normal' the woman, the quicker I can find myself attracted. It's as if my old ideals of what was beautiful and what's 'horny' are completely shifting.

And I'm fucking reveling in it.

It's feels like a huge thing.. like relief... That: 'Hey.. I'm normal, despite so many experiences trying to make me not'..

Somehow it soothes me, this thought. I can't really explain it well.

Let's say it like this. I have quite a few good friends and they all have lovely wives, but none of them were even remotely attractive. Some of my (male) friends could (proverbially) 'do much better'. A great example: Hugh Jackman's wife.. who's more than once been described as his mother, by members of the press that didn't know better. So I figured.. how can my friends be so in love with their wives? This was a real issue for me!

Perhaps deep down for me, it felt like romance was dying as I was growing older. I'd never be able to fall in love again, after my failed marriage.. because I'm too old myself and I felt like I could never truly fall in LOVE with an older woman... but now that all of this has happened.. it feels like it can (all) still happen again.

tbt.. I have been having on/off sexual relationships after my marriage.. many of them. And I've had a long time girl friend with benefits.. but that was sexual relief, more than anything else. I've went 'all out' after my marriage ended. I went over my entire bucket list and if I couldn't find volunteers, I just hired escorts to do these things with me (if you go far back into my posting history you'd perhaps find some of my exploits in the 'Confessions' thread).

Anyway very long story short. I used to not like older women, now I do, and I'm really happy about that, it feels as if I reached a level of maturity that I was afraid I would not reach.

And also, completely randomly.. this man.. makes me happy.. :D

Have you ever observed an impromptu "office party" on the 15th of February, when all of the office women congregate to show off the spoils of the previous day... Valentines Day... to compare the baubles they managed to extract from their men.

Doesn't that make you sick.

"Breeders," my male (and openly gay) boss at the time, clucked, contemptuously.

I've never seen that. I have once walked into 3 exes as they were having drinks together, even though I didn't even know any of them knew each other. I walked in, turned around, then walked out again feeling very uncomfortable.

That's... Holy shit. You must have lived in an awfully small town.

100.00 people lived in my town. But the dating scene was pretty small at the time. And I played in a band so there was this group of people surrounding us often and I only frequented a certain scene (e.g. grunge etc..).

A bunch of conservative activists just cleaned out 12 tons of trash from Baltimore, Maryland.

It is always nice when people can put aside petty political differences to help others rather than just complaining about the problem endlessly or using the continued existence of said problem to score cheap points against one's opposition.

Cool tech I can afford.

I'm wishing for a door thermometer for my refrigerator, the very last refrigerator I'll ever be able to afford,

and I read (on amazon) about wireless thermometers costing less than $20.

Then I read of a magical laser gun that does it all for less than 30.

Lasers. For 30.

Of course, I'd prolly yank open the refrigerator, remember that I needed the gun, (hopefully not drop it),

*Open* the refrigerator to take a measurement, while all the cold air leaked out,

read "50", be disappointed, and put the (pretty useless) gun away for another day, then a week, then years because I've forgotten where I put it.

But still, it's cool.

I like the wireless sensors better.

When the fuck will you Ever get off politics?

Tech is tons more fun.

This toy I'm not sure I'd use and when I could've, it was 10 times bigger and $10,000

Seeing big, bad Diz-knee losing money. Especially after they forced my brethren off a cliff for a stupid "documentary." And I guess for ruining Marvel and being so lawsuit happy that they'll sue anyone who dares use their name in vain. IDK. It's pretty easy to ignore them when you block their channels and avoid their theme parks.

You don't even need moral reasons to avoid their theme parks. You could almost afford a nice full week vacation trip for robbery prices you'd pay just spending a day at a Disney park.

But yeah, hearing they took a bit of a hit and got their shareholders pissed at them is nice. Even if it was only a small stumble for them. They control way too much of the mainstream entertainment industry. That industry in general is long overdue for a few anti-trust shakedowns.
