Yeah, I used the term "gay" in chat and was repremanded harshly then booted. I'd say I used it in a harmless, colloquial sense, the way people used to use it and not get their feather boas all ruffled. I wasn't hate speech at all (as I do have a couple homosexual friends, and they use "gay" the same way I do!).

It isn't PC, it is people like Linspuppy and Myrmaad run amok with their neo-nazi leftist mind set. About a year ago I reported an image at Nexus that depicted NV's Vulpes Inculcata as The Pope. The image is STILL UP, even though it targets a specific group and is against their stupid TOS. In the debate threads at Nexus I have seen Jews and white people (as groups) attacked openly. 'White people are just stoopid (sic).' 'We all know how Jews are.' Those posts are still there and the staff did nothing. At one time the was a mod for Oblivion named 'Negro Race'. All it was was a copy of the vanilla Redguard race with the stats changed. The content wasn't offensive in any way. The dweebs on Nexus threw a fit without even downloading the mod. They swarmed like lemmings and called the uploader racist and lots of other pathetic hot words people like to throw around. Come to find out the uploader was a 15 yr old German kid who simply didn't know or understand how intorelant and stupid Nexus can be. The uploader was attacked personally in the upload thread AND in the open forums and the staff did nothing...other than reprimanding the uploader and letting the trolls off scott-free. The Nexus staff by and large is just incompetent, but I guess Dark0ne likes it that way since they are all still there. Maybe he likes stupid people on his staff. They have to be easier to control than actual thinkers. Disclaimer: this post is NOT an attempt to start a politcal debate. I'm simply pointing out the obvious about Nexus.

As long as people have unreasonable views and in an abusive power, shit like this will continue to perpetrate. The problem I have with the Nexus staff is that they want people to be like them but instead, they're showing how to be completely inept when shit hits the fan. Plus it didn't help that they continually show arrogance against the very people they want to like them. I did question the Dark0ne over why TVD and Myrmaad was promoted to mod status despite their questionable attitudes in other parts of the site. The answer I got? Promptly 'get the fuck out'. Plus bad eggs will stink up the entire fridge which is what happened to Nexus overall.

Yes, there is a free registration. When you're making an account there's a page with paying options. You just skip that and continue to the next page for the free account.

(in this case, pay = saying thank you to the modder) I never bother with discussions with anyone. Who knows, soon you might get banned for just saying "thank you" without an exclamation mark in it. Hm, that's actually the way I deal with all modding-sites so far. Though it has not much to do with the Nexus itself, I am pretty much neutral with them as I never had any issues. But then I never voice my opinions to mods or discussions anyway. Which has more to do with my actual fear of pissing off modders They are a delicate bunch to handle, like all creative persons I suppose...one wrong word too much, and you scare them away, never to make things for free for you anymore... The LL however is a nice therapy for that fear, in a way. I am way more relaxed to post around here for some reason. But I think, with the Nexus so much in public focus and the Nr. one Bethesa modding site they might just be a bit paranoid to keep that status. While the LL, being more a niche-site featuring heavily on mostly sexual things, is naturally a bit more care-free and relaxed with things...

ElectricSheep Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 (1) Stay out of the chat room at all costs, there are a couple of moderators that lurk there for the specific reason of trapping people into saying something remotely offensive just so they can ban you, it sounds like im BSing you, and i wish i was, but it's what happens in there. Not only moderators; "Are you using the non-steam version?" is the most common trap - I see up to 7 people getting banned over this every day.

Hm, that's actually the way I deal with all modding-sites so far. Well, it depends. I would like to say yes and no. There are few modding sites I have only gotten maybe one or two mods from. And never returned. And to sign up, just to say thanks or something and maybe never come back again, feels... dumb or just pure waste of time. But If I come back on regular basis, I usually start sneak around and see what kind of community it is and start "socialize". Not with Nexus thou, only created an account so I can download larger mods But here on LL, I became a member late 2012, but it was not until a few months back, I actually started to post and made my presence known

Of course, hence no self-respecting site supports piracy in any way. The rule of thumb for pirated content is simple: if you sail to The Bay don't expect any help and stay quiet about it. Then again, I don't know a site that would ban you over a mere suggestion/statement that you may be using a pirated version of something - you're most likely to get a verbal or formal warming to stfu, ban should you post links to such content. How is this of Dork0ne's business whenever I use a pirated version of Skyrim or not, is he going to jail for it that he's so hell-bent on banning? IMO it's just another extreme that he pushed the Nexus into and the number of asshole vigilantes trying to lure noobs into admitting they're pirates is just a proof of that.

I'm not for piracy, but i have an exemple (maybe i'm wrong): i have a friend, he has 3 computers (good ones he makes a new one each 2/3 years), he buy a game for playing in lan....he can't, he must buy 3 times the same game for this? and download the game to install it? it's a joke? no, it's steam, so when i visit him, most of the time, we play warcraft 3 :/ or grid (1st grid), or some others old games because of that, it's stupid, the 3 computers can run farcry 3 on ultra. Nexus, we can play without, steam no (no lan). Maybe nexus guys are assholes, i don't care, i find good mods (here too). Think, there's more piracy because of steam, it's the weirdest thing i've ever seen...(with playstation 3 a 4 ) So i hate steam a lot more than nexus for this...i don't hate nexus (we installed starcraft 2... 6 hours for one computer...can't play lan... kewl! hurra steam!)

It not only supports multiple games, it also automatically downloads, categorizes, installs and manages several different types of files seemingly effortlessly, and all this FREE OF CHARGE!!! That's pretty amazing in this day and age of micro-transaction madnessI don't know that there's anything I can do to assist, but if there is, I'd be more than happy to help.I'll say it again, for what it's developed to do, NMM gives you amazing value. He makes some rather.......interesting..... statements about Mod Organizer. I found the paragraph below that something of a typical response to criticism of nexus services. I wounder if he is starting to feel the heat now that Tannis released a mod manager that actually works people are beginning to question the quality of what nexus is offering. It might just be my pessimistic nature but it almost comes across as begging from the community for help while shitting on them at the same time. I'm surprised it came up in an official 'DarkOne' statement though. Certain altercations were very possible between Tannin and Nexus. They didn't happen simply because Tannin's a very nice guy, and realized that complying with their wishes was wise, since MO was made possible through their site. Nexus hosts MO, and Tannin complies with any and all rules the site may have. I can personally vouch that he's one of the nicest guys I've spoken with on the web. Also, one of the busiest. I see nothing wrong with what DarkOne said. In fact, I'm happy to hear the kind words toward my buddy Tannin42. It's quite possible that some expected Nexus admins to have a certain disdain for MO, due to the fact that they're basically in competition, no matter how either feels about the matter. The whole competition thing was inevitable, considering they're both mod managers. Basically no avoiding it. The whole statement basically implies that the Nexus staff wants help with NMM. Nothing wrong with that. MO doesn't have to be the only mod manager that never overwrites files (along with all the other fantastic feature's MO has). I kinda hope NMM does get better, considering that tons of people use NMM 1st, and switch to MO only after they get problems with it and go searching for a better MM. Also, it's the site's feature. Furthermore, I'd like newbs to be able to use mods, without hearing solutions from us that sound like a normal answer to us, but an alien language to them. I'm done talkin' shit on Nexus. They have a site with a ton of mods we all use, and love. My beloved MO even comes from there. Maybe help should be given to these guys, who are obviously constantly struggling to maintain a site full of people who now argue with site staff constantly. It's as common as a cold for their staff to hear complaints from MO users about how NMM sucks by comparison. When I decided to support MO on LL, I never meant to attack NMM, but some of my responses may point otherwise. I don't wanna be mean anymore. I'm not opposed to Nexus. My point is that Nexus could use some help, and I'm talking about their Moderators, and this relentless banning of their's. Take a joke. It's not much of a challenge to explain to someone nicely that what they said might offend someone. They have the power to delete a post. Just do that, instead of deleting the person. We can be reasoned with...I've made stupid-ass mistakes here too, and been reprimanded. I had it coming, and have grown. I could go on all day about this, but I'm done now.
