When was the last time you saw one post in an upload thread and actually talk about the mod? When was the last time you saw one....etc...

They spent $250,000 on Nexus lately, to improve the site, and all they've done is make NMM able to use any mod for any game. I don't understand where that money went. They say they hired pros to help overhaul the site, and got more servers, but it doesn't appear to be changing anything.
Guest Ragna_Rok Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 nice joke i highly recommend once in a while to check their forum out... dozens of "help-me-pls"-threads that go like that: help, i dunno, sth fucked up my game, mods dont work anymore... i have those mods installed: bla bla blabla blaaa then: must have been this mod... must have been that mod... then: (after more bs comments that basically follow the scheme: the mods are crap --> no theyre not --> yes they are --> stupid modders --> not theyre not --> yes they are ...) we come to the most awesome conclusions: i uninstalled the nmm, installed all the mods manually, and now skyrim runs fine (and the nice guys then even say "sorry" if they got into a rage-discussion concerning that modders are the idiots in the game)

(cuz, y'know, banning is HARD WORK and they deserve to be paid more than the people who try to fix their server infrastructure) Then again it IS Nexus... I wouldn't be surprised if that's just what happens there.

Guest Ragna_Rok Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 millenia (hans) doesnt count. first, hes originally from norway. second, he made a ton of mods and tutorials. third, he was one of the few mods beside axeldominator that kinda do their job, you also rarely see him wield the banhammer... i think. hes actually working in the branche, he knows his fields. (edit: just my personal opinion)

None of that "over there". They make mods, help troubleshoot problems, answer even stupid questions (though they'll "let you know" it was stupid...but in a nice way), put misplaced threads where they belong, redirect people in the wrong place, help you find mods, even with a vague description, etc, etc, etc, I've even gotten a prepacked Blender w/nif-reader addon that I sorely needed, but could not get working, from a moderator here (Thanks BW ). None of that happens there. That's a shame. It could be such an awesome place to hang out under completely different management.

All I've seen were the HQ weapons for Fallout 3 and New Vegas by Millenia, ho is part of the staff. Millenia did most of his work (good stuff too, he's awesome) before he joined the staff. LHammonds did some stuff for Oblivion but most of it is based on other modders' works and his 'claim to fame' Silver Dragon Armory was basically stolen (ala BlackBlossom content leeching without proper credit) from another modder. For the most part, they do not mod, comment on mods, or otherwise contribute to that 'community'. Nexus is a personal sandbox for the meanest kids in the playground. Linspuppy, Mrymaad, Vagrant and Thandal being the worst of the lot. Anyone can spend about 30min just looking at their posts and a pattern will be evident. They are bullies with yellow text and nothing more. None of them could moderate their way out of a wet paper sack. And THEY KNOW IT.
