Eh I'm trying to dumb it down enough for the masses like we actually point out the jokes with a gong and a studio audience Not really.. lol
cornbreadtm Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Well, Lover's Lab (being the community it is) we could always help situation by providing mod feedback when things like that pop up. I've seen a few mods here like that, not many though. If we address it as the mature community we profess to be I don't see why ANY uploader here wouldn't be open to suggestions and constructive analysis. This isn't Nexus so we don't need to fear for our lives. I recently got my hands on a copy of ECE. I installed it and instantly hated what the authors did to the character presets. They look worse than vanilla. I have no idea WHY the authors choose to put their personal spin on the presets when the mod mechanics didn't require it. It makes no sense. The mod worked as intended with the added sliders, zoom, lights and other menu features. The thing is, the mod description makes no mention of them hi-jacking the vanilla presets. I did some editing in TES5Edit and started replacing the mod's files with what the game had originally, and I gave up. The mod's menu is not worth the hassle. If I were still a member at Nexus there would be no way I could post something like that in the mod thread without a pack of fan-boy pansies trolling me and the staff wanting to ban me. It would probably take less than an hour for all of Nexus to gather their torches and pitchforks and hunt me down for being a mod-bashing monster. I know Lover's Lab is better than that. Lol. Kendo, Kendo, Kendo, you're not suppose to mess with the preset. You're just suppose to change the hair and upload pictures of her naked with ENB on standing in dragonsreach using random pin up poser poses. Extra likes if you cover her in semen. Noobs am I right? *smh*

myuhinny Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 That is a common trait of followers skyrim oblivion and fallout new Vegas skyrim they like to block door ways the maxed out dragon shout or nuke/explosive type spell/ammo that sends their asses flying works well and is kind of fun at times in fallout new Vegas you will be sitting on a grassy knoll getting ready to shoot something in the head when one of your followers will creep by and stop right in front of your scope and you yelling out of the way dumb ass but bullets speak louder then words so you just cap their ass as it's quicker or when you shoot a enemy and then the rest of your followers take off to engage the enemies that haven't even seen us and you yelling what part of stealth do you assholes not understand followed by bullets to the back of their heads. They also like to walk by just as you pull the trigger then get mad that you shot their asses so you have to shoot them again to get them to drop which resets their aggression. At least you get points from it I think.
Guest Mogie56 Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 The problem with that is there isn't a developer on the planet that knows how to make genuine AI for a game i.e. the power of thought, instinct, emotion, sight, touch, smell etc. etc. 99.99% of all game AI is dumber then a box of chicken nuggets. it doesn't work without some sort of player interaction and usually a lot of player interaction (pause, tell it what to do, un-pause). and then your praying they don't run into a wall and get stuck there for an hour running in place. They can't see so they don't know there's a boulder in front of them blocking them from getting from point A to point B and following your orders. it's nothing more then "hostile radius" swing sword, shoot gun, give chase. which is why they ALWAYS know where you are and never miss. of course they have no idea YOU can see and know exactly where that arrow should have gone instead of puncturing their ass arm or eye socket. they only know that it was friendly fire and have no freaking trouble telling you about it. when games become self aware I'm glad I won't be around to see it. But y'all are in trouble when it happens LMAO

I spent a few boss fights with the controller next to me watching the fights since I organized their tactics so well. Dragon Age almost had it, if it wasn't for the higher difficulty and the high about of derp that mages cause.
Guest Omega1084 Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 I wonder if future AI in FPS games will call me a faggot when I get a headshot and they get killed... I mean, that's about as smart as the common CoD player is so it's definitely doable with some simple reaction scripts. If headshot = 1 then shout "FAGGOT!"
JerseyWalrus Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 For all the extra help followers give, I almost never use them specifically because of their AI. I don't care if they're the best follower, cutest or most badass, if they get in my way or annoy the fuck out of me 24/90 with their idle chatter and sandbox AI then I will tell them to go home.
Guest Omega1084 Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 I don't have followers. Unless they're forced and invincible like Serana, who is actually a decent follower. Lydia is really useful too, though. For shout practice atop the Throat of the World.

So i can laugh my ass off while i keep listening to her freakin sizzling shock spell noise.

Kendo 2 Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 I had the wild idea to play a battle mage. Of course I started getting my ass kicked by around level 6 so I got Jenassa. She isn't that bad, really. She has a bad habit of running in to area effect spells but that's HER problem. If it wasn't for necessity I wouldn't have a follower. I play the solo light armor stealthy fighter type. I still do with the battle mage but now I'm at a disadvantage since destruction spells cap at around 90 points of damage until you become a master. With a bow I can pump out 114 points of damage and NOT wait for my magica to regen. As long as I have arrows things die. Once I become master I'm going to retire this character and play through. I can get my bow back and ditch fucking followers. And I don't play Skyrim Barbies (male toons only) and I get the impression that's what these hawt girl follower mods are all about. I want the Hogfather to bring me a sexy fem-bot follower when Discworld hits the scene.

Krystin is writing the mother of all sidequests for here and we got a dungeon designer on that shit already. Think mini blackreach run by random dwemer automatons ala Bioshock meets Halo meets I-robot It is insane, wont be there for alpha not a chance but ya shes a follower And you have to kill her 2 sisters mwahahahaha! Not to mention look at that shield and sword! AMG

Never played FF of any kind, not my type of game. not a fan of turn based games or micro-managing top down. I was speaking more in general of AI. I wouldn't consider player organizing NPC tactics as AI. it's pre-planed scripting. I mean it's cool if you like that sort of thing, it's just not what I would see as an AI. I would hate to see the size of a game that actually had a workable AI. most games have a dumbed down type of AI to make it seem fair otherwise you would never stand a chance against it's perfect aim/sword slashing. and that usually doesn't end well for the game.
Cynical Misanthrope Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 I wonder if future AI in FPS games will call me a faggot when I get a headshot and they get killed... I mean, that's about as smart as the common CoD player is so it's definitely doable with some simple reaction scripts. If headshot = 1 then shout "FAGGOT!" Actually, that technology is almost here already. In older games like Rainbow Six: Vegas 1 & 2, you will sometimes get a compliment from the AI (team mates) when you pull of a sweet kill during combat. It doesn't happen every kill ofc, and I think it's tied to how good your accuracy were during that moment. Also sometimes, even the enemy will shout out something like "fuck, they killed him" or something along that way. Granted, they are not calling you a faggot (yet), but thats due to the developers not adding it. Also, games like Half-Life 2, the AI sometimes will tell you to "reload" if you have low ammo in your gun. But I am pretty sure, you could add it yourself. If you had the right tools and the knowledge what files to edit (also having some sort of recording device for you voice so you could add it to the game) so when you kill an enemy, the ones who are alive, could have a random chance to taunt you. With that being said, I would not mind if the AI would call me something negative when I pull something cool of. But don't forget, some ppl are talking life and their selfs to serious, so having developers adding these sort of stuff would likely cause rage.

Like, the AI complimenting you on something. But I mean like... enemies/bots cursing at you for killing them. xD Off topic but this is hilarious:
myuhinny Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Speaking of chicken I found this hat and necklace in the oblivion section then pasted the hat and wig into the keep out body nif that I converted to TGND and removed the mask from the hat and added high heels to it. I now have the sudden urge to look for a KFC and burger king in oblivion or go out and get some KFC.
myuhinny Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Your welcome. Time to go nom nom nom on some food.
