Is poison NPCs throw at you really that deadly that you need potions for it?

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/57042/

In over 400+ hours of gameplay I've only been poisoned ONCE and that was by a Falmer Shadow Master with a bow.  I'm not counting chaurus or spider spit, I mean actually being poisoned by a weapon or a creature bite where the 'You have been poisoned' message displays.

I figured as much.

There's not even mods that enhance poisoning... none that I know of anyway.

I just let it run its course, I'll heal up soon enough anyway, even with natural regeneration off it's still not a threat.

ROFLMFAO I swear this is the funniest thread on the web bar none.

it goes from one end of the spectrum to the other. I don't think this train even has rails any more. :)

This thread is less of a "Train" and more of a hovercraft careening every direction while doing flips. That being said this thread has to be one of if not the best for humor (at least that I have witnessed) On this site.

The images of that hovercraft in my mind. Awesome.

Frankly i think this thread is somewhat of an allround rant/fun/something/discussion thread by now.

It entertains, it enrages, maybe makes even someone sad, i dunno. I'm mostly posting depending on my mood anyway so.

And it keeps most of the bullshit off of the regular forum and concentrates it here.

I never understand why people use NMM MO BOSS or LOOT and the like.

NMM is propably the greatest steaming pile of shit ever created in the modding community, i stopped counting how often i saw someone reporting something doesn't work/asking for help and NMM as involved. MO, no idea about that one, goes into the same category as NMM for me, won't use it.

I used BOSS once in my life, it fucked my load order up so grand it wasn't funny anymore. Never touched LOOT because of BOSS' crappyness. And frankly people tend to stop thinking on their own once they can refer to BOSS or now LOOT, since BOSS got kinda discontinued from what i've gathered.

I only go face-desking whenever i see someone asking for help and people say "Run BOSS/LOOT". It's like the majority thinks the program is magical and can solve all your modding problems.

Which it can't.

To add to this, i didn't have had a CTD or problem i couldn't solve on my own with me game in the past 2 years. No joke.  And i'm not using any of those fancy programs.

I know this comment is a few days old now, but anyways....

I find your comment about the majority of people thinking it's all magic quite ironic really, considering you seem to have thrown all these tools overboard after a bad experience with BOSS, it's like you've decided all forms of automation related to modding is bad juju, and the only right way to do it is the macho Putin way, stripped to the waist and wrestling mods with your bare hands.

It doesn't have to be a binary choice, I don't understand why anybody would paint themselves into a corner that way.  I'd say learning as you go, getting your hands dirty when you have to, and using tools that makes the whole process faster and easier whenever you can is working smart.  Avoiding them because they were horrible to you isn't so much.

edit: no argument from me about NMM though, it really is a steaming pile of shite that will almost certainly fuck most peoples game up at some point. But that doesn't mean MO is by association also junk. It really isn't, but if you haven't ever used it Jorm, you're in no position to judge.

There is no other way like it.

No matter which of those I use with fresh Skyrim, I get conflict menu CTD's 80% of the time anyhow. Then it's time to do what can really only be described as swimming through an ocean looking for a floating turd, or even worse, multiple turds that refuse to play nice with the rest and remove them, which might just cause dependency conflicts as a result. Give all that half a whole day, and maybe I get to load the actual game and tackle the in-game conflicts next.

No matter what you use or don't use, you always get screwed with Skyrim.

edit: seriously fuck this game, I don't know why I keep coming back to it at all

That's why I make my own esps.  I've always done that, especially with anything downloaded from Nerxsus.  If the mod doesn't depend on heavy scripting I ALWAYS ditch the uploader's esp and add their meshes and textures to my own master.  Yeah, and Skyrim is a very stupid game.  I refuse to mod it seriously.

The new Assassin's Creed is coming out soon and I CAN'T FUCKING WAIT.

Same here but I do that for oblivion. I add the outfit/armor parts from a mod that I want to my .esp and then add them to the chest that I have and then throw their .esp away. That way I can get the things I want without the stuff that I don't want and it also helps keep the .esp count down. It also works great for things that are older and use the old high heel system that seems to always CTD my game if one of those mods are turned on. So I just have the high heel system turned on and add the boots to my chest without any masters getting in the way.

This hipster shit has got to stop.

These mod organizing programs; just know enough to know what it can do for you, and don't bother with the other features. I don't know why any user would intentionally try to ice skate up hill unless it's to learn the ins and outs in full. Otherwise, the programs can save you from a heartache of disorganization, and if you some of the ins and outs you'd know some of these things would save you a lot of troubleshooting time.

Plus this holier than thou shit is hilarious, because it seems like every corner of Skyrim modding is doing it to someone else.

Yup.  Some mods just require an organizer of some sort.  'Require' as in I'm not about to dig through 27 lose folders to try and cipher out what needs to go where.  I CAN do that, but I'm not going to.

Pretty much. Without something like MO, I'd be wasting time just overwriting files and all that. MO I can change priority and keep the integrity of everything I've installed.

Like anything that has automatic features, you'll want to double check to see if it actually installed something correctly in the first place. If a user is just going to click on a mod from nexus and have NMM do everything for them, they're asking for trouble and it's no wonder the programs piss them off. Even with MO one should double check exactly what files they're putting into a game anyway.
