Yeah, I saw one recently start randomly commenting on shit.
Reported a bunch of the spammed crap and ignored them.

Apparently came back on a new account a few days to a week later and did it again. Spam and ignored again.

Not worth the effort even IF there's anything to be accomplished.

Also, been noticing how some of Ivy's dialogue is thrown together 'on the fly'.
Clever, even if a fair number don't really go together too well, it works quite well overall.

Ivy's dynamic stories have grown and expanded and fit more together now. I've also tweaked a lot of the dynamic 'chats' to make so that randomly put together sentence fit well (more than they did). For instance she won't say 'I feel really strongly about that' right after she glitched out.. :)

The fun part is.. even if dialogue does not fit.. I just roleplay that it happens because she's a robot. It was honestly one of the reasons I also introduced her glitches.. I figured if I do it on purpose.. any 'real' glitches will look like they might be planned. ?

Trolls - I honestly think a lot of it is Religion based. Certain sects don't worry about their own souls as much as removing temptation from the rest of us.

They will work to control women's bodies, Internet web sites, and even what mods Patreon authors can write. If we don't defend our rights - we won't have any for long.

That's basically how I rationalise most of the issues and repeated dialogue I've had [though a fair amount of that has been while resolving other issues, so it's often from re-covering early dialogue due to new saves >_<]

One of the only other 'issues' is some of the phrasing/referencing, but most of that you can also put down to her 'quirks' ;)

Could be.. my point was mostly that I've danced that dance so often I just consider it a waste of effort and energy. One click and they're on the ignore list so it's just a waste of effort in any case on their end. It's sad really, some go through all the trouble to get some kind of fake post history even, just so they can blow it on bad and obvious trolling to end up on an ignore list. But I digress, let's get back on topic.. :)

Hi, if you get it right, you start playing after installing Ivy and ...

+++ SPOILER ALERT ++++

1 - tune to Ivy radio
2 - listen to the message and begin the mission
3 - A marker appears on the map above the basement where ivy is
4 - you go down in the basement and talk to Ivy, she says you need the valt to rescue her
5 - a marker appears on the map in a hospital (on the other side of the map)
Is this what is not showing up for you?
6 - faces a bunch of mutants to get into the hospital that is full of necrotics and somewhere in the middle he finds the valt and an important warning note.
7 - round the map all back to the basement and bring the vault to ivy
8 -  follow together happily ever after

there is a tradition in the group that after you have been playing Ivy for more than 18 months, or  more than 100 games restarted with Ivy, you get a code to type in the console that already gives you the vault, then just go down in the basement and deliver
?

the quest refuse to start the radio plays fine and everything, i had to google where the voucher is and got it yet she doesn't "acknowledge" me having the voucher nor can i find a way to present it to her, i even used console commands to spawn the voucher in her inventory yet nothing, tried debugging didn't work, and even reinstalled the mod yet im still having the same problem! and ideas?

Check the FAQ. 2nd post of this thread.

Q: Will Ivy be usable with Heather.

Yes, but no guarantees and no support with ANY extra mods other than the Mans Best Friend mod that allows you to travel together with Dogmeat and another companion.

Ivy fills the regular companion slot and that will always stay like that. A complete redesign (e.g. 3 months of work) would be needed to change this. Ivy is designed to be used together with Dogmeat, but she's best alone. Especially since features like HyperCombat will work far less with multiple companions (there will be less combat targets and she will get in the way of other companions, which will open up a whole new can of worms).

It seems that I can't stress this enough:

DON'T RUN IVY WITH OTHER COMPANIONS.

PERIOD. SHE'S NOT DESIGNED FOR IT.

PERIOD-FULLSTOP.

IF YOU DON'T LIKE THAT -> DON'T USE IVY, BUT RUN WITH OTHER COMPANIONS.

the quest refuse to start and no marker shows up, the radio plays fine and everything, i had to google where the voucher is and got it yet she doesn't "acknowledge" me having the voucher nor can i find a way to present it to her, i even used console commands to spawn the voucher in her inventory yet nothing, tried debugging didn't work, and even reinstalled the mod yet im still having the same problem! and i don't currently have companions following! its frustrating since i've tried every possible method i know to get around this bug

yes, the question of reginal is very pertinent, I remember that in one of the dozens of games and tests I did with Ivy at one time or another did not work, or did not carry the radio or she did not even appear,

so I do not remember if I had it with first or last mod in the order of the loading list
I also do not remember which mod that caused the conflict, I usually have more than 200 installed, but when I put it at the end (or at the beginning of the list I do not remember but I think it was at the end) then it worked fine

Ok... I have to ask... And this was one of those "spark up a fatty and contemplate random shit" nights, so please bear with me lol. I hopped on here, saw the video, and found this pleasant surprise.

Is this a hint of Ivy developing self respect? My take has been that it's always been there as a result of a human brain in her head. And I understand if that aspect has always been there and just unimplemented for whatever reason, or isn't a focus beyond this interaction. But I suppose that would depend on how Dr. Stein created her.

Well, Dr. Stein? lol ? I'm curious since you're applying your studies to Ivy's development, and wondered if that's the real teaser or not. Hell, I could be stoned and just imagining shit. Anyway, I thought that was pretty cool, and seems more natural if she was created with the ability to blend into society, like adhering to morays/faux pas when someone new invades her space. Or maybe only as much as a synth?

If you listen carefully to Ivy's stories, you will find that she has an enormous amount of self respect. So much so that she has no problems with making fun of herself. ;)

Or, in the Yungian Model (And if you really are interested in a deep dive):

- The Pelikan King is Ivy's Shadow.

- Deborah is her Unconscious.

- Her AI is her Ego.

- The Player is Ivy's SuperSelf.

- The combination of all those factors is Ivy aka. 'The Self'.

Ivy is so bloody interesting because it's not about the player (at all).. it's all about her. And in their relationship, the player becomes part of her identity. The player is Ivy's Super Self because it's the role model she looks up to. The voice that tells her right from wrong. This is also the reason why the she does not care about how the player acts, she trusts them implicitly as if they were a part of herself. As long as the player does not do things to threaten her (e.g. deny her quests for improvement, or join the BOS which could threaten her life in a very serious way) she will always trust the player. If the player is bad to her, that's when her 'self' starts to fall apart, because her moral compass is gone.

After a few of those I go on auto pilot and then suddenly wake up and be like. Wait, did I forget a step back there? And then I have to recheck to make sure. This is actually harder than people think.

That's why I was rechecking the 63 and then reopened to check 64 as well. I do double checks afterwards though, in Fo4Edit, it lists it a bit better so it's easier to read. Then I go back into the CK to fix any I missed.

Fun trivia! Dude, hell yeah I'm interested, I love stuff like this! Maybe modesty was a better term for that scene than self respect. Self esteem? Self aware (being nude in front of a non-paying customer, fuck I dunno). Not sure what I was trying to describe, but it's almost endearing they way she looks up to you. Sweet, actually, if you think about it. Kind of like how a child looks up to a parent, which for me, compels that side to guide, love, support, protect, etc. Which, being a dad, only sucks me in further... <sigh>

Not that I ever had the option, but I now know I don't have the stomach to be a tester, because it would kill me to test the options that hurt or disappoint her now that I know this lol

And now that you have filled that in, I'll keep a more discerning ear open next time I play. Thanks for being a sport and entertaining my ramblings, Reg ☺️

Development Update

5.40 am. Woke up several hours ago, with a major stomach flue, so I decided to drink buttloads of tea and work on Ivy.

During my testing I found some minor bugs I was meaning to fix and I think I fixed these, of course new testing could reveal I haven't but we'll tackle that when we get there.

(DONE) - Magazines somehow 'stuck'.. :( <-- could it have to do with this issue? >> https://www.creationkit.com/fallout4/index.php?title=Topic_Script
(DONE) - Ivy's Warp Routines disabled when asked to 'hold position'.
(DONE) - Make a nice place event only RUN once.
(DONE) - Ivy somehow gets 'stuck' sometimes in combat..
(DONE) - SCRIPTS run on EACH SENTENCE in a fragment, meaning that start and end run for each sentence.
(DONE) - Add Player's 'I love you' when in relationship level
(DONE) - Make it so Ivy doesn't repeat her AO comment events..
(DONE) - Set MAX hypercombat distance to 12000 (perhaps even 16000)
(DONE) - Ivy says her 'bones' remark on non-bone objects..

(DONE) - 'Fuck I'm horny > Sexual Favor 2nd time around > jump to correct scene'.. <!--
(DONE) - Make it so note/pickup scenes only run once.
(DONE) - Don't start/say Mutfruit Quest/Line when it's already running!!! (!)
(DONE) - Make it so Ivy's erotic memory archive actually STOPS the scene when it's not available yet (!)
(DONE)- 'Thoughts on our relationship during love level..'

Yay, maybe now Ivy will stop asking me if she can put the corn/tato/mutfruit in her hair when I pick it. ?

You da man, Reginald. I can’t wait. Ivy is gonna be epic.

Plenty of English-native-speakers around, if you haven't already gotten some to go over parts/all of it. :)

Development Update

Did a lot of stuff on Ivy's main affinity quest. This was initially dubbed 'Ivy in Pornoland' but all of that is gone now. It's a more serious quest, diving into Ivy's (sub)conscious.. a deep dive into her reality to help her cope with her existence. The groundwork was done end of last year and I picked up where I left off. It will feature (a) new cell(s) and two NPC's that I won't speak about yet at this point, you'll just have to figure all of that out yourself at one point or another. It will feature it's own ambient soundscape and an orchestral original soundtrack, after a sweet friend of mine has granted me the use of them. We mixed and changed several of his pieces today on his hardware and it sounds bloody amazing as he has hardware compressors and eq's.. something that I now desperately want to have as well. :)

Ivy really likes HyperCombat.. except for the mess..

Dial-up troll tanking was much harder, had to really work for it. It's like the trolls take no pride in their work anymore.

Trolling used to be a true art-form. It was not meant to just piss people off. It was meant to make people think about themselves and their preconceptions. It was a satirical means of telling the truth. It was more akin to standup comedy than it was to being a total ass hat. And even when people were total ass hats, it was part of the strategy to open up real dialogue. But most of all, it was never done behind someone's back. It was always up-front and confrontational and it always had an underlying message. Things have changed, my friend.

But let those be the last words on the subject.

Development Update

Finished the complete layout and interior cell architecture for the first cell of Ivy's affinity quest. I was able to reuse existing cells and alter them because things take place inside of Ivy's memory, meaning these are places already visited before. I still have a LOT to do there but it's going quickly. The quests are planned, most of the dialogue is pre-written at this point and it's now a matter of adding the quests, markers and objects to make things happen inside the cell.

I still have some technical challenges to face but I'm confident I'll tackle them with success. :)

Now I need to do some homework on pre-vis, grouped objects (precombines) and map optimization.
