No ENB was used for these screenshots. These are 'vanilla' game effects active when inside Ivy's mind. The effects make lights exaggeratedly bright and increases contrast coupled with a slight radial blur to increase the dreamy effect, Ā (Edit: Now that I have learned how imagespace modifiers work, I'm going to work on releasing a mod called 'enhanced imagespace modifiers' which will change the vanilla imagespaces to give it an ENB like effect. As presets can be changed in game, a holotape and MCM menu can easily be added to control and tweak the effects, more on that later when Ivy is finished). Ā I will also be working on a custom dress for Debby. She will not look like this in the final release. Ā The player gets lectured by a machine.. Ā Ivy's mind can be one creepy place... Ā 8
Reginald_001 Posted June 1, 2019 Author Posted June 1, 2019 Development Update Spent the morning fixing a new bug that crept up, where in workshop mode; Ivy would suddenly come running to the player instead of dutifully wait at the workshop location. This one crept up several times before and it's always a difficult one to find (and fix). Luckily Ivy's verbose debug mode gave the answers I needed. A quick scene is run to check if the player is outside and if any Brotherhood of Steel entities are close by (and friendly to the player). Apparently running ANY scene while in workshop mode, breaks the companion's 'wait at workshop' package. I was able to fix this by simply not running these scenes in workshop mode. Ā I'm currently playing through a regular game and will finish the raider quest later today, or tomorrow. I like to take small pauses while making such quests, so that when I go back into them I can see clearly whether things progress logically or not. Writers (and developers) often forget that players don't know as well as the developers what's going on. So when I came back to the first quest, yesterday, I found I really had to add a bunch of dialogue to make things more clear for players. Taking short breaks from certain aspects and then getting back to them can in such a way really grant a new perspective on things, which only helps to improve the work I did earlier. 5
DevoutlyWicked Posted June 2, 2019 Posted June 2, 2019 I am just starting playing FO4 and saw the Ivy 4.0 and knew it will something I'd love added to the game. Only problem I'm having with it so far is I can't get TO the claim voucher. I kill everything lurking in the building, get all the security terminals done and take everything that isn't nailed down and that can be taken but still can't seem to find the way into that room where the voucher is. The door is partly jammed open but I can't get it to open farther... game won't let me smash a window even if I detonate several mines and grenades next to them. There is not a hole in the floor that I might be able to use to climb up from below and haven't found a way onto the roof of the place to see if there is a way in thru the roof.Ā What the heck am I missing?Ā I am back in the building again for the 3rd time and the only thing new I found was one screwdriver on the floor behind an overturned chair. Ā I scanned thru the postsĀ looking to see if anyone else has had this same problem but didn't see any posts as such. Just a couple that were having problems getting the markers to show up with general instruction on obtaining the voucher. ie: go in kill everything and claimĀ voucher & read warning. Nothing about HOW to get into that last room once you cleared all the hostiles from the rest of building. Ā So far I put on 11 more levels (level 14 now) from the time I got the quest from Ivy, in the getting to the place and then clearing it out. Clearing out all the small map marked spots between Sanctuary and the lab. I had to fast travel back to Sanctuary 2x to unload my collected junk for later sale or salvage. If I can't find a way to GET the voucher then its rather pointless to have the mod installed at all. Ā Side Note: I only recently started playing FO4 due to seeing a few mods from it being ported to Skyrim and and some discussions about FO4 on Discord group that is mainly Skyrim related. I amĀ finally deciding to take a break from Skyrim and try something a little bit different. FO4 is not completely different, but a nice change of pace. I've been playing Skyrim since 2011 and modding it since 2012. Finally gave in to persuasions and got Special Edition back in January. Much more stable to play and to mod but still working on getting more of my fav mods ported over to it from LE.

I usually go in this room using a rocket in the back, a backpack rocket, and rising in it by a hole in the ceiling of the room below, but if I do not mistake I have a path also without needing a cessorio of these cheat, talking in cheating, a subtle cheating, you type a command that lets you cross through, but this is a very dishonest feature, and then what voec uses once is tempted to use always ends with the prozer of challenges in the game. I'm going to start a new screen and take a look so I can talk better, I'll be back soon.
DevoutlyWicked Posted June 2, 2019 Posted June 2, 2019 There in that pic you see the broken door. Nothing I've tried has helped to open it far enuff to get thru. Soaked up a lot of rads trying all sorts of things to get in there.Ā Ā Found a few more odd items that I missed the first two rounds thru the whole place. Been in there long enuff that items are starting to respawn too. I don't give up that easily but damn! If it had been stuffed in a bantha's ass on a remote planet in a galaxy far far away it might be easier to obtain.
DontBlnkBadWolf Posted June 2, 2019 Posted June 2, 2019 I'm wondering if all these adds you keep doing is going to push back your hard deadline of October. Someday soon, you will have to force yourself to stop adding more and finish what you have done already. If lines added still need ChicGeek VA, then they should be handed off to her rather soonish. Ā *sigh* ChicGeek: my heart flutters every time I see her picture when she makes a comment. Head over Heels.

The voucher is on the third floor, easily reachable not behind any kind of door. Just enter Medtek, walk to the back of the area, then turn right, up the stairs, through the room with lots of desks and monitors, left up the ramp, then on through the back, up another set of stairs then just straight on... Ā Here's a walk through video, where there's the note 'she's not here' is where you will find the voucher. The Affinity quests are nearly done, then all features are finished. It will just be a matter of some more dialogue here and there and then I'm shipping off to Chic. 1

Though October is far away, almost too far. Ā I'm over Skyrim, it never did take root in my games to play, I prefer The Witcher 3. Once I finish my custom voiced follower and release, I'm done with Skyrim. Wanting to start on modding FO4 for releasing mods. Ā I'll check back in here in a couple of weeks to see how it goes.

DevoutlyWicked Posted June 2, 2019 Posted June 2, 2019 Thanks for videos. I'll go back and search that office again. I didn't find the voucher in there before but no harm in checking again Ā Ā Ok Thanks again I have the voucher now. It was on the floor almost behind the shelf unit. Don't know why the quest marker wasn't marking it before since I did have the quest marked active. You can even see the marker in the screenshot I posted. Might have been a glitch on my end.Ā I did a careful search of all the papers on the floor, desk, shelves and that's how I found it. Ā Still no idea how to get into that one room tho.... looks like more plunderables might be in there.
DevoutlyWicked Posted June 2, 2019 Posted June 2, 2019 I got Ivy to join me. No problems there. No problem changing her hairstyle. Made her a new outfit and weapons and gave that to her. No problems with all that.Ā If you look at the screenshot, you see her standing there next to the dog house. She won't follow me now and just stands there. I can teleport her to me but she runs right back over there. Not sure if the debugging part on the holotape is what I need to do or what?Ā I tell her to follow, she says ok but doesn't follow. Tell her to go to a spot, she says ok but doesn't go. And as said if I teleport her to me, she runs right back to that spot. She wasn't doing that to start with and am not sure why she is so attached to that particular spot. Ā OK NVM...... All I had to do was leave Sanctuary and then teleport her to me. Went over to the Red Rocket and tried porting her there. At first I thought it didn't work at all.... but once I started moving around the station after the teleport, she showed up. Ā 1

Ā Ā I had that occur recently, but that was thanks to F11 being both the ESPExplorer's key, and the AAF quick-scene, and I can't be arsed changing one of them. Needed to get AAF to start a scene with her, then exit it. Solved the problem.
DevoutlyWicked Posted June 2, 2019 Posted June 2, 2019 So far she has been AWESOME! I absolutely LOVE the voice acting. Am truly looking forward to advancing the relationship and hearing more of her comments and insights along the way. The small bleeps now then where she shifts speech to process some data keeps her to just that little bit of reminding that she is AI and not human. TOO COOL! Excellent Job all around!Ā And on top of all that... she's got me covered while I'm busy with other things. A couple poor raiders tried to creep up on usĀ and she had killed both of them by time I got out of build mode and myĀ weapon on them. AWESOME! 1
Rebel Marauder Posted June 2, 2019 Posted June 2, 2019 Does Ivy support Fusion Girl body yet, or is that a simple case of copying FG files and overwriting Ivy's meshes and textures ?

filas02 Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 How do you feel about people making Ivy their own? By that I mean changing her appearance, clothes. I really adore her and she's given my game such a breath of life, but like all things in Fallout 4 I prefer to alter it. I was thinking of posting an appreciation pic of her and my PC sitting on a bench (Which, brilliant move, those conversations are really amazing) which I can spend a solid 15 minutes a day doing, just sitting down, trying to find new and fun dialogue... God you've made an awesome mod... I know there's a big update coming in a few months, but are there plans for Nuka world / Far Harbour? And if not - can I bring her there anyway and she'll still react to things in the world? 1

fred200 Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 For planning purposes - will we need a clean save for next release? 1
Reginald_001 Posted June 3, 2019 Author Posted June 3, 2019 5 minutes ago, fred200 said: For planning purposes - will we need a clean save for next release? A clean save, yes, 100%. A new game, not necessarily. You can just dismiss Ivy, save your game, reload your game, then install the new version. Ā 1
fred200 Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 Just to be clear - no messing around with Resaver to clean the save? Ivy actually cleans up her messes? This is sounding great with no major rollbacks on my part! 1
Reginald_001 Posted June 3, 2019 Author Posted June 3, 2019 Just now, fred200 said: Just to be clear - no messing around with Resaver to clean the save? Ivy actually cleans up her messes? This is sounding great with no major rollbacks on my part! If you dismiss Ivy, all her scripts stop running. So when you save, go to a new area, and uninstall the mod it should be fine. The difficult part is for people that already have Ivy running, they will need to rigorously clean out old remnants of Ivy (especially scripts) before playing the new version. I might provide a batch file or small .NET app for this purpose to help people clean out the old version of Ivy. 1
fred200 Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 Actual scripts should only be a problem for manual installs. Any decent Mod Manager keeps track of those and will get rid of them all. Skyrim was notorious for embedding scripts in the saves. I honestly don't know how much better Fallout 4 is in that regard. I don't think it is a problemĀ Resaver cleans up what it calls undefined instances and undefined elements. In my current save, it finds a half dozen or so embedded Ivy scripts. I am tempted to follow your directions to dismiss Ivy, travel and save. Then see if Resaver finds anything. Might be useful to know.
