JJDemon Posted October 23, 2019 Posted October 23, 2019 I have no multi-player mod first off. I can't get the option for her service menus to show up in chat. I am using XDI, if that matters. Currently just Heather/Ivy with me.

Guest Posted October 23, 2019 Posted October 23, 2019 It's been my experience with FO4, that AFT itself is bugged regardless of what, if any, follower mods are used. While it is a staple mod for any play-through in Skyrim (Even there it has script issues), I won't touch it in FO4.
Sevatt Posted October 23, 2019 Posted October 23, 2019 AFT is shit. Just mho, but I found that out long before discovering Ivy. It was one of the first mods I DLd as a new modder of FO4, with a minimal LO. It was buggy and unreliable at best. I do use it in SSE, but it seems to have only a small % of the issues the FO4 version does. I went back to it some time ago to give it another shot, with more experience in modding thinking it was something I did wrong. Nope! 50 some odd hours into my playthrough, my save took a big shit. Took me the next couple days to narrow down the issue to AFT, finally had to scrap the save I spent days on tweaking and start over. Soon as I found Ivy and that AFT breaks her, it was the final nail in the AFT coffin for me; never again. Now if it breaks Ivy, it gets shit canned in nanoseconds lol But that's just how I prefer to play and what I find fun. No hate for anyone who enjoys otherwise.
DRKronk Posted October 23, 2019 Posted October 23, 2019 Just thought I would share may latest "visual" version of Ivy.... like everyone here, she is my only companion, total hotness and incredible depth. thanks @Reginald_001 5

I didn't really have the link here, but you should be able to find it. I'm pretty sure it exists.
landess Posted October 23, 2019 Posted October 23, 2019 My 'Ivy's' change from play through to play through. Though only 'skin deep' the option to change her visually is always a plus. Mentally - wouldn't change a thing. Spoiler 1

I haven't noticed any ADDITIONAL load time added by these mods. Playing through these has been alot of fun and GREAT changes to the main story. Thuggyquest may stay in my LO when I start a new clean game for Ivy 5.0 Speaking of Load order, Ivy. Always and forever Frankly I'm just killing time while I wait for Ivy 5.0 to drop. I have a Clean Vanilla save ready and waiting for her and then it'll be just me and my girl tearing up the wasteland
SpinX Posted October 24, 2019 Posted October 24, 2019 Loose files slow down load time and Thuggysmurf mods have tons of loose files. That's why traveling to a cell that belongs to one of these mods take so much to load. It's loading textures, meshes, voices from loose files. One way to speed it up a little is to archive it. Don't archive voice or music though because for some reason they won't play.

From what Reg has hinted at, Ivy is gonna have a more organic, interactive stance when it comes to the Brotherhood and your involvement with them, and this won't be altered when mods like Thuggysmurf's quests alters the BoS. Just thought I'd give you a heads up in case you want to consider it from an RP standpoint. 4 hours ago, SpinX said: Loose files slow down load time and Thuggysmurf mods have tons of loose files. Archiving is always a good idea whenever possible, especially now that it's been streamlined thanks to Cathedral Assets Optimizer. Having the game installed on a SSD also helps greatly with load times as well.
zax Posted October 24, 2019 Posted October 24, 2019 Does she have any perks/fav weapons/stats like vanilla followers? I don't see any related info on description page.

She comes with her own perk, it's comparable with Piper's and increases experience gained from speech challenges and finding new locations (both things that Ivy likes). Of course in 5.0 just having Ivy is a combat perk in itself, due to her new teleportation combat systems. _IvyKills!.mp4 TweakedAttacks.mp4 5
landess Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 I know this mod will be complete when after starting a new game, I'm the one in a cellar under a house in Sanctuary. Having Ivy enter the cellar, tell me all the nasty stuff she wants to do while setting me to 'essential', and finally using me for mini-nuke fodder should complete my Fallout experience. 1

Runco990 Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 Newsflash!!! Bethesda to Re-Master Fallout 4 to compliment the latest Companion mod, Ivy 6.0! Developers claim that Companion Ivy is so advanced, they had no choice but to scrap the entire game engine and start from scratch just to keep up! This decision was made due to overwhelming demand from Gamers, who stated that they would refuse to buy any new games unless their demands were met. Bethesda is asking everyone to please remain calm and ignore plummeting stock prices. Adding only, "Were working closely with Ivy's creator, Reginald_001, to properly integrate our game into this masterpiece of creativity." When asked about the next Ivy release date, creator Reginald_001 simply smiled and replied with "Soon". 4

Shiori栞 Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 - Check your pipboy for a new quest called 'Redeem Ivy'- Activate the quest and read the instructions- Activate WIVS radio from within your pipboy.- Your quest will be updated and directions given. Follow them to the root cellar in Sanctuary. <-- This part never happens for me- Talk to the NX-2C pleasure bot, she will give you a new quest- Follow the quest to Med-Tek research, where you must find her redeem voucher.- Once the redeem voucher is found, go back to the root cellar in Sanctuary and talk to Ivy.- And talk and talk and talk.. until your heart is content! I listened to the radio station for a long-ass time but I never get any updates or further instructions. Is there a way to force the quest to update to the point it tells me where to find her?

Walk into the root cellar and talk to her. The quest is just a pointer so players can find her. But once you know she's in the root cellar, you don't need the pointer.
Reginald_001 Posted October 25, 2019 Author Posted October 25, 2019 Announcement It is time. Time for a big announcement of quite some impact. I have been holding out on making this announcement but I have to face reality at one point. Chic Geek and I had initially decided to release at the 31st of October of this year (e.g. 6 days from today). But due to unforeseen circumstances, she has not been seen online for many months now. I have not had any contact with her in the meantime but the show must go on. I have two choices at this point. Wait for Chic to contact me at one point, or continue working and release only the Robot version. I have given this a great deal of thought lately and I want to release the best possible version of Ivy yet. In terms of build, despite a few bugs, I could release the robot version today if I wanted to. I could live with those few bugs and be done with it. But I have decided against that. A lot has been happening to me in the past few months. I went cold turkey from pornography after having realized it's debilitating effects on me. This has led me to do some deep soul-searching regarding Ivy. Do I even still support something so sexually 'devious' while in my heart I now know and deeply understand the bad effects that pornography has (especially on the male brain)? Or do I finish what I have started? That soul searching did not take long. I love Ivy and my commitment to her is to the very end. She is very much ME and many of her biographical aspects relate directly (symbolically) to my own life. Any trained psychiatrist that played for 10 hours with Ivy could probably tell me why I'm so damned depressed always, that's how much she reflects me and how much committed I am to her. But while all of that soul searching was going on... my employer suddenly went bankrupt, causing me to end up 'on the street' without a job, facing the prospect of losing my home. It would be an understatement to say I worked hard to get my apartment. It was years and years of 50+ hours per week, often being called at night during emergencies. And all that could be lost in a few months.. If I couldn't find a replacement job. This has caused me a lot of stress and sleepless nights, resulting in a complete breakdown several weeks ago. Despite that breakdown.. I had to rush out for a job, right before the holidays and winter are coming, not a good prospect. So I rushed and found a great new job, but that now takes a lot of my effort. I have been extremely stressed this year. I remember starting each year in January, promising myself to make 'this year' better than the one that preceded it. But I have yet to succeed. Yet that ever positive spark that's part of Ivy comes from my own heart. And no matter how bleak things get, it is always there, telling me that. "No matter how fucked things are right now. We'll get through it.". I'm a survivor. I've lived through things you wouldn't wish upon your worst enemy, unspeakable things. I can live through this as well. I will start my new job on the 1st of November (1 day after the hypothetical release of Ivy). As part of my new package and contract I negotiated a month long sabbatical during Winter, which they agreed to. I will wait until the 31st of November to hear from Chic Geek. I will start packaging and debugging the final issue list from Ivy on the 1st of December to get her ready for the release. One way or another, you'll be able to play with Ivy during Christmas: If Chic comes back online any time before that and manages to fill the new lines: Ivy 5.0 will be released with Chic's voice and the robot voice at (or before) Christmas day. If that does not happen: Ivy 5.0 will be released in Robot only voice form at (or before) Christmas day. 9

I am personally always willing to wait on delays if that means the game or DLC is made better for it. ESPECIALLY so if said update or content is FREE, like with Ivy. Mod creators have a lot a lee way in this regard as they are usually a single person making my game better with their custom content with out any expectations. I have a lot of respect for that, even more so when I tried my hand at modding and realized it's not something I can do. At All. I'd also like to thank you for the insight into you as person. That's not easy, is one of the reasons I mostly remain a lurker. Ivy aside I do truly Hope everything is OK with @ChicGeek regardless if she returns to LL and Ivy or not. I do hope she returns, I've always used Ivy as voiced by her. at the end of the Day, Thank you @Reginald_001 Thank you for Ivy and all your hard work with all that you are going through. I really do appreciate it. 2
