Have you given thought to adding an option to upload IVY into a robot that could then be modified at a robot workbench, kinda like a reverse Curie?

I have given it a great deal of thought when I was working on 5.0 and opted against it. It's not really 'fair' to see Ivy as a Robot. She is basically a Cyborg. A human being with mechanical components. Original organs like the spine, heart, brain, kidneys, liver, are all mostly in-tact, transplanted into a synth receptacle/body. It took the mind of a genius to 'save' her life and get it working to begin with.

Ivy calls herself a robot because Cyborgs are almost unknown (and for that reason frowned upon by most people, in common lore) and she hates explaining this in detail to people, calling herself a robot just keeps things simple for the 'casual onlooker'. In this, I tried to make her as realistic as possible.

She does explain this to the player in far greater detail in 5.0 (after reaching a certain level of affinity). And the added affinity backstory quest for Ivy goes into even greater detail on how she was built... It also dives even deeper into her history as a human before she was transformed into Ivy.

I have since then checked for the option and ability to install the M-Sat into her during the Robot quest, but decided that the effort to get that working outweighed the benefits it would reap.

Thank you for clarifying. I've been scouring this site and nexus for a sexy automatron voice module (to use with the MAID assaultron mod) with no luck

I have a feeling that the Servitron will be made compatible for Ivy, soon after 5.0 is released.

I will actively support custom race mods for Ivy, I basically have to, as I have created a white-list of races that she is allowed to change into and I will need to actively update that in 'race' patches for Ivy. If one of those races is modded to the robot workbench, than that's the way to use Ivy in that workbench. ;)

Awesome to hear. I look forward to it.
That said, the sadist in me just kicked in and now I just want to put her in an eyebot...

I recently watched the excellent Russian sci-fi show "Better than Us" on Netflix, and couldn`t help thinking of Ivy when the main Cyborg "Arisa" did certain scenes...

Ivy haunts us from beyond her virtual world :D

I`m going to try and recreate Arisa`s face for Ivy (played by the beautiful Paulina Andreeva). I`ll ptobably fail miserably though ;)

Never heard of that show; so awesome tip, now I can go check it out! :)

You know, I've been thinking. At first when I started playing the mod, I thought you came up with Ivy because you liked the name. But after running with her for a while, and with what I know of horticulture, I've come to realize that it goes deeper than that. Ivy is a plant that covers, entangles, and subsumes any surface it grows over, is fast to grow and is very hard to get rid of. I got to thinking about these traits and applying them mentally while playing the game, and the parallels are eerily on the mark. Who knew there could be so much weight in merely picking a character's name?

It`s pretty damn enjoyable and the lighting/makeup effects are quite impressive!  Another great show about robots/cyborgs is the Swedish "Äkta Människor". It was redone by the BBC and called "Humans" but the original Swedish one is far superior in my opinion. Enjoy :)

Holy shit, Humans is an awesome show. I think BBC cancelled it, but I hope they didn't

Yeah it was pretty good, but I felt the original "Real Humans" had a lot more to it, the hubots looked well, more bot like...plus it had more gratuitous nudity and Niska was scarier. Oh yeah and  I can`t stand the actor for Leo in humans (Merlin ugh), the original Leo was way cooler - looked a bit like John Connor  :D

I also think the Swedish version delved more into the social aspect like the Anti-Hubot group that springs up. Just my preference...and sorry for hijacking your thread Reg.

Not hijacking at all. I think it's perfectly relevant to Ivy. :)

While I'm sure this is an awesome mod, could I suggest that the redemption voucher be placed somewhat closer to Ivy (or that a more cheat-y way of getting her be available in sanctuary)? I exclusively play on survival and have been attempting to get to Med Tek first thing, but I'm giving up since it's pretty far away and even random ghouls can one shot me. I was trying not to do any quests, since there is supposed to be so much commentary, but Ivy simply isn't feasible for me to use in the early game without grinding through like a million bloatflys and mongrels before heading over, which I'm unwilling to do.

I'll probably give her another try once 5.0 comes out. She does look like an interesting addition!

If you're looking for a "cheat-y" way to redeem Ivy, why not start the game on easy mode then activate survival after getting her?

In version 5.0. The voucher is inside Sanctuary, if players are below level 7. If they are higher than level 7, it is found inside MedTek as usual. :)

I cannot wait for 5.0. I am busy with my final year project and when I need a good laugh, listening to Ivy talk tends to bring a smile to my face

To be honest, me either! :)

I love it when Ivy interjects and it's on the spot. I mean.. most lines are really random and designed like a horoscope; to work and fit in most situations. But sometimes it's just really on the mark and it can make things uncanny. Like this time when I stamped out some of my shacks to make screenshots and it was like Ivy knew it wasn't right that I was floating TCL style, 2 meters above the water to get the best angle lined up for a screenshot.

Notices and Development Update

I have not heard from ChicGeek in a while. There are signs of life, but I'm not aware of the status of voice recording. I'm still hoping we can reach the end of October release and am working towards that goal. But this will of course be dependent on Chic's situation. For this reason I do not have a test version available yet for testers. A dropbox has been set up and testing documentation is nearly ready so from the technical side we're (extremely close to) ready for a release.

Notice

I am going to be 100% and completely honest here that I am having second thoughts about the consumption of pornography, having consumed it for nearly 35 years in my own life. I am now starting to see and learn about the detrimental effects of this behavior (and I am recognizing these symptoms strongly within myself), which in hindsight has caused me and my partners real grief. Now that I am several days into the 'no fap' challenge, (I am completely abstaining from pornography, sex and orgasms for at least 30 days.... if I can make it.. it's been a rough ride so far) and I am already seeing some minor benefits come up. Will all of this have effect on Ivy? NO NEVER. I love Ivy and Ivy is her own being. I am separate from her and she has as much NSFW content as she ever had. But I'm also 47 and you are what you eat. I don't want to be that old perverted gray guy with a terrabytes large porn collection. I want to be that loving husband that's always aroused by his wife/partner/girlfriend/boyfriend, instead of 21 year old pornography models.

And from that perspective I have decided to work on a completely safe for work version of Ivy, to be released after the 5.0 release.

She will be completely the same as the 5.0 version.. but all pornographic references will be removed from this version, giving players the choice to play with a completely SFW version of Ivy, yet still be able to experience the romantic aspects of your relationship with her. In this version many lines will be removed, leaving only the romance lines. (It will basically be the 'Heather' version of Ivy.)

So again, just to make this clear:

Will all of this have effect on Ivy 5.0 'regular version'?

NO NEVER. (It's just an extra mod/option)

I love Ivy and Ivy is her own being and all that NSFW stuff is a part of her and will never be removed.

But the base 5.0 ESM will also be the final 'base' release for Ivy. After that her plugins, DLC and add-ons will be released, after which time I will stop with her development as she will be 'finished'.

Well, I sure am waiting with baited breath for Ivy 5.0 at this point.   If you do communicate with ChicGeek, please do let her know that she IS very much appreciated for giving Ivy a human personality.

The robot voice just didn't do it for me.  But Ivy as a very "human" cyborg, yep.  Love her!

I was going to tell you a time travel joke, but you didn't like it.

One question:  Do follower AI mods such as better dialogue or better companions or deeper thoughts Curie interfere with Ivy?  It's kinda hard to tell....

I DID uninstall Unlimited Followers and she does seem to talk more.  Sometimes the effect is subtle, so I am not sure what I can and cannot run, but I did put Ivy as close to the bottom of the load order as possible.  I am running 229 mods currently, sooo.... yeah....

I do plan to do a special VERY CAREFUL from scratch install once Ivy 5 comes out just to make sure I get the full Ivy experience.

BTW, best of luck on your challenge, Reginald.   I have been there.

I am that old. Though records are making a comeback, so maybe that saying will return.

When I was a teen, I would purchase an LP and then using a decent turntable and tape deck, I'd record the album to my own cassette. It always sounded so much better than than the cassettes you could buy because I never used Dolby.

Fix:

1) Place before Ivy in the load order, you will lose the changes made by RBPH to the root-cellar.

2) Try to add Ivy by placing her by your side, then recruit her, use the radio fix to fix the radio:

Player.Placeatme #IVY'S ID HERE#

Sanctuary Estates (Any version/Type)

Simply breaks Ivy by overwriting the root cellar and the radio.

Fix:

None. Not compatible at all. Do not use if you want to use Ivy.

- Ivy says often that she wants sex with me but she never does OR

- Will Ivy use SRE / FourPlay / Etc..etc..? OR

- Does Ivy have Sex Animations?

Ivy does not have sex animations. This is by design. Ivy was designed to not have any kind of dependency on any other mod. The reason for this is that mods often are discontinued, become unsupported, or disappear, which would cause me to have to come back to fix Ivy as well, every time one of those mods updates. I wanted Ivy to work, always, regardless of what kind of mods the other player has.

FULLY VOICED Insane Ivy 4.0! is the most engaging, sexy, fun-to-make-a-run-through-with companion I have ever installed in any of the games I have played or modded.

"Ivy is such a demanding companion, she is a quest and treasure to discover in itself. Stick with her, dump your other companions.. worthless duds!":  when I first read this statement I said (Yea!  Right!), and after running with her for about 4 hours, I deleted my game and started a new game with her as my sole companion.  I have not regretted taking this action.  The spontaneity Ivy brings to the game is amazing.  Reginald_001, you have labored long and hard to create a masterpiece!

There may be a way for you to add "sex animations" to Ivy's repertoire without any actual animations.  Roxy, a companion added to my current game by Depravity - A Harmless Bit of Fun, offers her services without the benefit of any animations (only some sounds while a black screen is displayed).  You could use the same (or a similar technique) to add depth to Ivy's services.
