Hello, dear readers.

It took a bit longer than anticipated, but our Blackguard story can finally continue. ?

Whatever wacky, silly and totally not-violent adventures await our heroines? Let’s find out!

Warning: same as chapter 1. (Look, they are Blackguards. They aren't exactly 'nice' ?)

Resdayn and I were having a conversation earlier today (yesterday? Fuck a healthy sleep schedule ?) about who had the prettiest character of all the LL storytellers and now the answer has become crystal clear.

Spoiler

It's obviously Brilud and that magnificent beard ?

TPC-UD2-Sc-86.jpg

There are some really great shots here but I think some of the ones of Sophie laying in the wagon are still my favorite, great framing.

A Rorschach reference is perfect for a character with lots of swirly stuff on her face (and I'll take this opportunity to give my daily "go fuck yourself!" to Zach Snyder for his various crimes against humanity).

Can't wait to see what happens next!

Great work Devi ?

I agree with Spy your visuals and scenes, screenshots improved a lot, you had many fun ones in this chapter ?

The Thalmor patrol was just perfect, thats how I imagined them always ?

Despite the evilness and Vaermina, Kaita is suprisingly look adorable, she still cute ?

Also, the ages of the characters, what a reveal ?

They all grannies ?, I did not know they are that old.

Love your writing. The dialogue is great and the dynamic between the... protagonists...? Is fantastic and hilarious. I'm still trying to decide whether my favorite part was the scene with the Aldmeri Dominion guards, or absolutely every scene involving the old man.

I kinda wanna hear those cabbage stories now! ?

Your shots are beautiful, and would be fun to look at even without the captions and story attached to them.

Did I mention, that I really really like a talking sword ? :classic_happy: I did mention it. I must have mentioned it. I like it :classic_shy:

Now, I wonder when we see it do some real "talking"?

Old man Brilud's beard is glorious! It is worth at least half-a-dozen boobies! ?

I like Sophie in the wagon shots as well. They were a pain to make, but the result was worth it. ?

Yay! I'm glad you picked up on that reference.  All of Kaita's design was made to always be sort of constantly shifting and her swirly tattoos help with it a bit.

Thank you so much for the kind comments and all the advice. ?

Thank you, Res! ?

Thalmor patrol scene practically wrote itself plus it served as a good introduction for Sophie into Kaita's "strategical thinking". ?

Kaita does come out a bit adorable, doesn't she ?. Like a very powerful and psychologically unstable baby. There is a method to the madness, though and everything she does makes perfect sense to her. ?

My Blackguards aren't immortal per se but if they play their cards right they can live for extremely long time due to daedric power of their Patrons. And it is that power that also slows down their aging almost to a halt. So yes, technically speaking for regular mortals they would be grannies that can kick some serious *ss. ?

Brilud ended up being a very charismatic old grandpa. I like him a lot as well. ?

Very glad you enjoyed this chapter! ?

Thank you for such kind words! It always makes me happy when I can make the readers laugh with my stories. ☺️

Old man Brilud sure is a good storyteller. After all, five (almost innocent) bandits gave up their lives so he could tell the world more about the epic cabbage competition! ?

I'm also glad you gave that pause before naming Sophie and Kaita "protagonists". For the majority of the people that they meet they are definitely antagonists. It's always a challenge (albeit a very fun one) to write a story from the point of view of the 'bad guys'. I try to show that they are evil, what they are doing is most certainly wrong but also have the readers ends up rooting for them anyway. ?

Thanks again for the praise! More of the story is yet to come. ?

Ah yes, I really like Victor as well. He is always so deliciously annoyed with every mission that they undertake and at the same time he is still so easy to manipulate because of his penchant for ...ahem...slightly lewd themes. ? The fact that Sophie is pretty hot makes it even more effective.  And we might see more of Victor in action at some point. ?

Kaita has many ways of handling various situations. We'll see how things will go with the Purifiers and the visiting inquisitor. ?

Thank you for the kind comments! ?

:O Another episode! And the same amazing quality and story we are used from you.

Talking swords, white wolfs and a lot of humor ;)

Love the ending, almost feels like one of Cr0w's images with the glowing eyes... her appearance reminded me a lot at his style.

Interesting character dynamics in this entry, the worldly Sohpie and the sheltered Kaita.  They go about completing their objective in different ways, but they both seem to be effective.  But it looks like Kaita's more reckless approach might be a little more effective this time around.  I guess we'll have to see in the next ep!

Also, I can't help but feel that Victor is my spirit animal...sword... avatar?  Would like to see more of him in the future.

ALSO, also.

Thank you for such high praise, Alter. ?

Talking swords are fun! And Ker'ag is too fluffy for me not to include him in the story. ?

I'm rather fond of that last image of Kaita as well. It's just the right amount of creepy. And I can definitely see similarities between her and some of Crw's demon girls. I guess it makes sense, given the fact they they are all tied to the daedra. :classic_ph34r:

Oh, I like that phrasing: "sheltered Kaita". It's an interesting observation. ?  I wouldn't say she is sheltered in the regular meaning of the word. However, due to Vaermina's influence and the fact that Kaita visited Quagmire multiple times (that will be discussed a bit more in part 3) the Blackguard does partially live in her own world of nightmarish dreams. Mostly it's all in her head, of course, but it gets reflected in her overall behavior.  And you're absolutely correct - both Blackguards are very effective but Kaita's methods usually make sense only to Kaita herself. ?

In his mortal body Victor liked good food, good wine, hot women (and men, on occasion). As a sword he still likes the same things (though the food and the drink are a bit problematic) and cannot stand the chaurus or getting covered in someone's guts. I'd say many of us probably share his worldly views. ? I'm glad you like him and we'll be seeing more of our grumpy and pervy sword in the future. ?

Awwww!! That picture!!!! Old man Brilud stole the spotlight of the whole chapter. ? He's such a kindly grandpa figure. I almost felt ashamed for having him being punched out by the bandits. ? But then the revenge on them felt even more satisfactory!

Thank your for your comments! Very happy you liked the story. ?

Every hero has their trials.  This makes them relatable.  The way he selflessly sacrificed his coin and his body to save those two girls makes him the hero this blog deserves! May his cabbage grow forever!

A nice chapter once again, and with an appreciable length ! Liked the humor, both in situations, dialogues and even thoughts puns ; but the funniest to me was the old Brilund constantly praising the divines for the Blackguards doing. ^^ Anyway, it's an explosive team that you've got there, assuring the entertainment even more since they're adorably evil. ^^ I don't think there'll be too much challenges from the purifiers, but I was pleasantly surprised by the fight scenes, with Kaita packing in a lot of punch with her kicks. Technically it's as good as ever, but if I could outline one detail, is that the tails of the bubbles are supposed to point at the characters' mouth or at least where their voice would go. It's not that important, but if you've got some time to spend, tailoring the tails so you can adjust their position could improve that.

That one is good :                                                  That one isn't :

Anyway, that's minor. And since we're left on a badass cliffhanger, all what's left is to wait for the next chapter !

Thank you for your comment, Tirloque! ? I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter and the humor. Brilud's unwavering faith in the Divines is naive but also very touching.  Sophie is quick to pick up on that but the old man is useful to them so neither her nor Kaita ever bring up who they are in reality. ("adorably evil" - I love that description! ? )

The Purifiers are certainly better equipped and better disciplined than your regular run-of-the-mill Vigilants. How the girls will deal with them remains to be seen. ? But as you correctly noticed, Kaita (as well as Sophie) is a very proficient fighter. One of the reasons for me revealing their real ages is to explain their prowess in the battlefield. Daedric influence aside, they have had decades and decades of training.

I tend to agree with you regarding the bubble tails but the explanation for that is very mundane : I use MS Paint to create them and there are only 2 versions of speech bubbles available there. I could draw them by hand, of course, but I already spend quite a lot of time formatting the text, arranging the screens, fixing any clipping issues so I don't feel that adjusting every bubble tail would be worth it. ? I'll tailor them to fit the characters more if I'll have any scenes that are really important, but for now I think I'll keep them as is.

Author: Dear Malicia, you're correct! We're going to have to find some french fries for Kaita!

His persona is almost like his father's but he doesn't like to kill people like Batman but does it on accident or when the quest calls for it and if there is an option not to kill he will chose that. And he likes to sneak up on people and startle them and he likes to make people laugh. He has an evil persona in him that he suppresses down with all his being but that bad side reminds him of how much of a good person he wants to be and his father tries to get him to let go and prechess to him his philosophy of Madness. For more details just ask and I will answer. Oh and he respects women. He won't yell at them on insult them like some people I know. He tries his best not to judge people or pick side in arguments unless that person is obviously wrong. ok ok Yeah that's all for now.

Oh my God. This is just amazing! Your entire Blackguard arch gives me goosebumps of admiration and genuine interest! I don’t even know which of this is better!
A sword that considers itself a lover, not a fighter, Daedric dog companion, attractive and deadly antiheroines, an unsurpassed sense of humor spiced up with a sweet narrative, with obvious blackness of all situations (Sofia's reasoning about the Daedra and Aedra and their methods), everything is brilliant ^_^
I just love it ^_^ Thank you very much for this amazing work ^_^
and yes...

Aww, darn it! Ok, time to quickly rewrite the 3d chapter and have naked Brilud convince the Purifiers to give friendship a chance!

Or give peace a chance ?. He already has the beard for it

Aww, thank you for the praise, Crw. ? The Blackguard stories are a lot of fun to write and I'm glad people enjoy reading them.

You picked up on the blackness of the situation perfectly. This is still a comedy but it does have some serious and obviously evil undertones.  Sophie and Kaita are beautiful but extremely dangerous. Being around them can be detrimental to one's well-being. Also, if you noticed in both stories Sophie warns the not-too-bright daedra worshipers that nothing good comes out from dealing with the Daedric Princes. :classic_ph34r:

Crossovers are very entertaining.  If Rose and Co ever want to hang out with any of my characters, just let me know! I'm sure all of them can get into all kinds of fun trouble! ☺️

Thanks a lot! That's a pretty nice and detailed description. I especially like the " killing on accident" angle. ? I'll keep it in mind for any possible future stories. ?

Except if you beat one in a fiddle contest. Then you get a shiny fiddle made of gold, no strings attached!

Alright, I've done it. I FINALLY am caught up on your blog and HOT DAMN, I'm in love. I'm gonna put it all in this comment rather than a bunch for each, so here I go.

Spoiler

The Adventures of Kiki:

I figured I would enjoy this storyline, but I did not expect to love it as much a I ended up. What really brings the story to life is how perfectly the characters are made. They're all hyperbolic to fit an archetype and still believable and relatable at the same time.

Every episode I read was a treat and I found myself chuckling so often at the interactions you set up; especially with Eira. She is definitely my favorite character. And I really appreciate the way you make NSFW scenes. They're not extreme or forced, and you do an incredible job with the dialogue. The spiderweb with Eria and Vulcun? ?Most excellent! The perfect level of tease! I highly approve.

And even with all this, there's still a hooking plot! I particularly enjoy the Cyrus and Eira arc, but all of it is terrific!

Seriously, you gotta continue this soon!

Merchant's Troubles:

One word: delightful. I love Taisia! I was expecting the "ditzy" archetype where she just kinda stumbles into her success, but no! She is super clever! I love they way you set up her using her smarts (and other things ?) to outwit the clients. It's super creative and exciting to read! Also, Krauss??? That's my last name xD

Necromancer's Chronicles:

This threw me for a loop. A good loop! This story really shows your talent as a storyteller. It felt completely different from your usual style, yet I could still tell it was yours, if that makes sense. I was hooked right away with Arthur. I know the story is focused on Trinn, but Arthur is a phenomenal juxtaposition to her that provides each of them with so much potential for character development. You did a perfect job having Arthur begin to accept Trinn, or at least work on understanding her. It was succinct, but not rushed. I really hope to see the inverse effect sometime in the future! I just love the potential of this story. This is honestly my favorite story of yours and I'm very excited for it to continue.

Pale Collector:

I'm a big fan of daedric champions and yours are on my list of favorites! I don't think anyone else has made a Vaermina champion or a Clavicus Champion yet, and, well, no one else should now. Sophie and her trio are great! And Victor? LMAO! That fucking sword... And Ker'ag is an excellent companion, though I feel like he doesn't get as much screen time as he deserves. I'd love to see him in a fight! Kaita is quite badass as well. Those glowing eyes! This part ended so intensely I'm dying for the next one.

----

I just have to say that I have seriously been missing out all this time. Your blog is absolutely wonderful with a diverse blend of thrilling characters and stories. Seriously, excellent!
