I remembered this mode and installed it
Unlimited options are provided if you are tied to a restraint and attempt to unlock with a key

I tried using CleanSave, created new games, and tried it, but the same bug kept happening

I can't find a way to fix this bug

Do you have a key(s)? If not, trying to unlock the device is fruitless, especially with heavy bondage like this.

Are you sure you posted your question in the right topic? You're in the Devious Helpers mod support topic.

 

Devious Helpers is all about asking NPC for help, like followers and Blacksmiths. Get a follower and ask for help or hop to the next Blacksmith and ask for help.

Devious Helpers doesn't add a struggle mini game for solo escape.

 

Still something is off with your DD installation. You would see a struggle animation if you choose struggle.

What DD mods you have installed?

In those circumstances, you can get help from a follower, who can release you if

 

You ask them

AND

the player character has the RIGHT type and number of keys needed to unlock the restraint

OR

the follower has the RIGHT type and number of keys needed to unlock the restraint

 

NOTE

- Followers cannot release the player from every type of restrain

- the 'RIGHT type' of key means a basic restraints key for simple restraints, or head, body, hands etc for those they they can help you with

- the RIGHT number means that they have all, ie enough of, the keys needed of the type needed - eg some strict gags need 2 or three head keys

 

If the follower needs, say two keys of a particular type, but in the inventories, they have one and you have one, you need to transfer one of the keys to the other, ie PC to NPC (or vice versa), so that one character then has the two keys needed
