Mr. Otaku Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 Spent some time playing around with this mod, loved the Nazeem quest. But i gotta say everything else kinda feels like a chore. It's a great concept really, but the execution is far too vague for any comfortable play session and it entangles with many other preexisting quests too much causing too many roadblocks. I can tell a lot of work went into this, but the way it runs isn't very practical in my opinion. 6.9/10 gotta keep this disabled for now. A detailed walkthrough would be nice though because those hint documents are not that useful. 2
snarfies Posted October 4, 2020 Posted October 4, 2020 Stuck in The Jarl's Wife, but I don't think its the actual quest (DI_Quest_Jarl) but a subquest (DI_Quest_Thalmors_Scene). I go to Solitude during stage 110 of DI_Quest_Jarl, the first scene with the Pimp and Prostitute. The Pimp get paid by the Thalmor... and then nothing. Everyone stands there until the end of time. DI_Quest_Thalmors_Scene is stuck on stage 0 according to sqs in console. Setstage di_quest_Thalmors_scene 10 gets me past that point - the assassin runs off, the Thalmor proceed to walk to their embassy. What should normally happen? What might the hangup be? 1

TFDyikies Posted October 16, 2020 Posted October 16, 2020 ive tried searching for this but perhaps im being stupid is there a quest walk through section somewhere as in detail, and what the different options result in. thanks for any help much appreciated Or at least a hints PDF for part 2.0 just like for the other previous quests.
JoeStine13 Posted October 22, 2020 Posted October 22, 2020 Will this mod conflict with amorous adventure? Never mind
FrostWimbelton Posted November 4, 2020 Posted November 4, 2020 I have a problem with The Jarl's Wife quest. Spoiler Bjartur went missing after a while the quest is complete. I got her to stay with me before. I've teleported to her and she is in Windhelm and is somewhat hostile to me.
ryuuzakihentai Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 Hey, first of all, great mod. Loving the content so far. I wanted to know how to keep progressing with Th Cloud District quest. I'm supposed to spy on Ahlam and Nazeem, but Ahlam won't leave the temple of Kynareth. She won't move, in fact. What should I do next?
StrayHALO_MAN Posted November 8, 2020 Posted November 8, 2020 Please let me disable the wet dreams/toggle this mod on and off, I really wanna use this mod but when I sleep and people teleport to me for a sexscene its a little annoying. Or just add an MCM so I can customize on the fly.

Maidenfan Posted November 9, 2020 Posted November 9, 2020 So, I want to know how to get Olfina for myself. I am stuck on how many days need to pass, and what to do. Anyone willing to help?
ViolaTAL Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 I've lured the Giant to the farm, it check marked that on the quest. But nothing has progressed. No dialogue for Nazeem. Is there a console command I can use to force it to bring up the next part?

You can always Use fury spell on Nazeem if he's acting like a chiken. Spoiler And then Nazeem Should be in Cloud Disctrict.
Popular Post nordwithasword Posted December 8, 2020 Popular Post Posted December 8, 2020 (edited) I feel like this mod has so much potential to be continued, there is a staggering amount of work that went into it and I appreciate it so much. Thank you vinfamy! Anyway since it's not being actively worked on by vinfamy anymore, I reeeealllly want to see what I can do to make more Infamy happen. I am a longtime lurker here, experienced modder but still learning when it comes to mod creation (though I am an experienced coder and a professional writer, so I have that part covered). So I am currently putting a lot of my spare time into looking at the mod, in the hopes of being able to take it further, fix any remaining known issues, get it all fully documented and eventually add more quests in a lore-friendly and user-friendly way. Phase 1: I'm going through all the existing quests in depth, and compiling everything said about them by vinfamy and others throughout this thread and in the existing PDFs, to get walkthroughs written up and get a better handle on all the known issues people have had. Once that's done, I will get started on bug fixes and a whole revision. Current status 8/13/2021: yeah I'm still alive and still working on this. Other things took me away from this project for a while but I'm back onto it now. I know there are still a couple of quests to write up walkthroughs for, but I'm also heavily into the revision process and have done full rewrites of almost all dialogue (including greatly expanding the NPC comments so you don't get the same ones all the time and so they're more relevant to both what you've been doing in the quests and whether the NPC approves or disapproves of that). And started on fixing plot flow issues, bugs, and immersion issues like not having gender- or orientation-specific dialogue branches. Still no real timeline on when this is likely to be done, but I'm still doing it. Dovahkiin's Infamy helpful console commands Turn off NPC comments about how slutty you are: stopquest DI_Quest_InfamyComments Turn them back on: startquest DI_Quest_InfamyComments Reset your reputation (i.e. the NPCs still comment, but now they don't think you're slutty): set DI_Global_Infamy to 0 Turn off the glow/blur effects on the sleep events: set DI_Global_Screen to 0 Turn off the sleep events completely: stopquest DI_Quest_Nightmare Turn them back on: startquest DI_Quest_Nightmare Change your Perversion, Sadism and Infamy level, allowing you to open up different paths: set DI_Global_Perversion to XX set DI_Global_Sadism to XX set DI_Global_Infamy to XX replacing XX with the appropriate number, as follows: Perversion less than 50 gives you the Pure route, equal or larger than 50 gives you the Perverted route. Sadism less than 50 gives you the Kind route, equal or larger than 50 gives you the Evil route. Infamy less than 50 does not affect anything, equal or larger than 50 gives you the Notorious route in which NPCs will start reacting to your infamy. Change the initial settings you chose when you first loaded the mod: Enable bestiality content: set DI_Global_Bestiality to 0 Disable bestiality content: set DI_Global_Bestiality to 1 Enable rape content: set DI_Global_Rape to 0 Disable rape content: set DI_Global_Rape to 1 Attracted to men only: set DI_Global_InterestedIn to 0 Attracted to men and women: set DI_Global_InterestedIn to 1 Attracted to women only: set DI_Global_InterestedIn to 2 These first attempts at walkthroughs are all being done with a female PC. I have not confirmed whether all the same options for sex/courtship in each quest are available to a male PC. I'll be doing that later on, and will update with any new info. Once I get as far as starting actual revision work, I want to make sure there's roughly the same amount of sex content available regardless of whether you play male/female, straight/gay/lesbian/bi, and also a lot more optional bestiality content for those who like that. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Walkthrough: Aela quests These three quests play through as one complete quest. Vinfamy originally released "Hunted" as a standalone quest, then added "Hunted: Mundus" and "The Hunting Grounds" in a later release. I have kept them in three separate parts here, but they can't be played separately from each other. Sex/courtship options: In part 1, three masturbation scenes for Aela, plus some Aela/bear and Aela/werewolf sex scenes you can watch if you have bestiality and rape enabled. In part 2, player can have consenting sex with Aela. End of part 3, courtship and marriage with Aela is your potential reward. All the sex scenes have Aela and the player in human form only. Part 1: Hunted Spoiler Prerequisites: You must have completed the Companions quest "The Silver Hand" (the one in which you become a werewolf and Skjor dies). In your SexLab general options, make sure the setting for "NPCs use bed" is Sometimes or Always. If it's set to Never, the very first scene in this quest won't start, so you can't do anything. There are a lot of werewolf and Aela related mods out there and I have no idea which ones might be incompatible, so keep that in mind if you get any bugs or problems beyond the ones described here. To start: Go downstairs to the Jorrvaskr living quarters. On entering the downstairs level, you will hear sex noises. Follow the source of the strange noise Go into Aela's room and you will find her masturbating in her sleep. If you talk to her, she will reply as if Skjor is fucking her. When she is done, she will go back to sleep. Talk to her again to wake her up, saying "Aela..." She will be annoyed that you were watching her. "Sorry, I didn't mean to disturb you." She responds angrily and leaves the room. "(Perverted) You look lonely. I can help with that." She turns you down, but does not leave. If you talk to her again now, you get the option to ask "Were you and Skjor lovers?" She will deny this and tell you to have some respect for the dead. When you leave, she leaves too and heads outside. Now ask anyone else in Jorrvaskr "Have you seen Aela?" (If you don't get this option immediately, waiting an hour should do it.) They will tell you she was seen going to the plains outside Whiterun. Find Aela Follow your quest marker. There will be a large herd of deer/elk and Aela will be hunting them. Once you run into her, help her with the hunt by killing a bunch of deer/elk yourself until you hit whatever number will complete this stage (I think it was about 10-15 needed). You don't need to stay near Aela while you do it. If you lose sight of her, she will come back to you when you're done. Talk to Aela After you have killed enough deer, you'll get the option to ask her "Why are you out here all alone?" She says she needed the distraction of the hunt. "Is this about Skjor's death?" She says yes, they used to hunt together every night. "Perhaps we can hunt together again." She says yes, maybe one day. A group of 4 large deer/elk will now run up and start attacking, with un-deerlike behavior. BUG: One time when I played through, the 4 deer were replaced by one deer and three bandits. Not sure how that happened, but it didn't seem to affect anything. Help Aela fight off the strange herd When they are all dead, she will say she never saw anything like this before. Complete this brief conversation and then she will head back to Whiterun. You will not get a new quest objective. The next time you enter Jorrvaskr, Aela will approach and give you a job, to help rid Ivarstead of a dangerous pack of bears. BUG: You will get the usual "Let's not waste any time" / "I'm not ready yet" options, but if you pick "I'm not ready yet," this option is not set up correctly and you will not be able to restart the conversation and pick the other option. To correct this, leave Jorrvaskr and re-enter it. This will reset Aela so you can choose "Let's not waste any time." Travel to Ivarstead Aela will follow you. Go to the quest marker, which is on the bridge at the north end of town. As soon as you get there, the pack of bears will attack, coming over the bridge. If you have bestiality and rape turned on, and you don't kill them all quickly, one of them will knock Aela down and rape her. After this you can kill the remaining bears. Talk to Aela "We saved Ivarstead from the bear attacks." Then you will get either Kind or Perverted options depending on your stats: "(Kind) I'm sorry I wasn't able to save you from being violated." "(Perverted) You seem to enjoy being mounted by the bear." She will brush off either of these approaches, and leave. You will not get a new quest objective. The previous pattern will now repeat the same way for the next mission: go to the basement, hear sounds, watch Aela masturbate, talk to her, get a new mission. She will have different dialogue this time when you talk to her, while masturbating and afterward. The next mission she gives you is to check out something strange on the coast near Winterhold. Investigate the northern coast Aela will follow you. Go to the quest marker, which is on the coast about halfway between Winterhold and Windhelm. Aela may get stuck at some point and not keep up with you. This isn't really important, you can retrace your steps to her afterward or use console commands to bring her to you. At the quest marker, you will find a lot of dead horkers. Once you have discovered them, talk to Aela, who will say it's the "Tide of Woe," a sign that Hircine is about to unleash his hounds on the world. Warn the Jarl of Winterhold about Hircine's hounds Return to Winterhold. Here your quest objective will automatically fail (there is no way to successfully warn the Jarl in time) and you will find a number of werewolves attacking the town. Protect Winterhold from Hircine's hounds This works the same way as the Ivarstead bear fight. Kill werewolves. If you have bestiality and rape turned on, one of them will knock Aela down and rape her. When all are dead, talk to Aela. Talk to Aela "We saved Winterhold from Hircine's hounds." Then you will get either Kind or Perverted options depending on your stats: "(Kind) I'm sorry that happened." "(Perverted) I saw you screaming with pleasure from that werewolf's pounding." She will brush off either of these approaches, and leave. You will not get a new quest objective. Now you go through the whole thing a third time: go to the basement, hear sounds, watch Aela masturbate, talk to her, get a new mission. She will have different dialogue this time when you talk to her, while masturbating and afterward. The next mission is to clear out more Silver Hand who have moved back into Gallows Rock. Wipe out the Silver Hand remnants in Gallows Rock Go through Gallows Rock again with Aela. It will be much the same as it was in the vanilla Silver Hand quest, until you get to the final room. Here you will find the ghost of Skjor with a quest marker on him. This is Hircine in the form of Skjor. Go and talk to him. As soon as you click on him, Aela will shoot you with a poisoned arrow and you fall down while your vision blurs. You watch a scene between Hircine and Aela. She has done it all to win Hircine's favor and bring Skjor back from the dead. Hircine will say he is not happy with her killing you by treachery, and revives you to face her in a fair fight. Defeat Aela This fight was very buggy for me. According to how the quest is written, you're supposed to get the objective "Kill Aela or talk to her" once Aela's health is low enough. IF YOU CHOOSE TO KILL HER What's supposed to happen: Killing her will bring Skjor/Hircine back. He congratulates you and gives you one more test to pass - defeating his Aspect of Guile, which is just ghost Skjor. After defeating Skjor, Hircine is pleased, and rewards you with a choice between his two vanilla Daedric artifacts (Hircine's Ring, or Savior's Hide armour), and the quest completes. (Aela will reappear alive and well back at Jorrvaskr, because vinfamy didn't want to break the vanilla game by permanently killing her.) What actually happened: So many bugs here. On killing Aela, she vanishes. After she vanished I got an objective "Kill Aela or talk to her" which then instantly completed. I did not get a chance to talk to Skjor/Hircine, but instantly got attacked by him, with no other conversation or new objectives appearing. After I defeated Skjor, a new copy of Skjor appeared and I had to fight him again. At the same time, I got an objective telling me to talk to him (which obviously was supposed to appear earlier), with the quest marker on the first Skjor's remains. Talking is impossible as Skjor is stuck in a loop of just respawning and attacking every time you kill him. I wasn't able to resolve this at all. If this happens, I think all you can do is go back to an earlier save, and fight Aela more carefully so you can get the "talk to her" path instead. IF YOU CHOOSE TO TALK TO HER It looks like the best way to proceed with this fight is to hit Aela until she is down, then back off and stop attacking for a while. If you do this, she will rest for a couple of minutes, then transform to a werewolf and start fighting you again with her full health back. Now fight her again until you knock her down again. At this point, she should change back, and you should get the objective "Kill Aela or talk to her." Talk to her and choose the dialogue option about helping her back on her feet and escaping. BUG: She may vanish again at this point, but this should only be temporary. Skjor/Hircine now reappears and is angry that you spared Aela. He says he will send his Hounds to teach you a lesson. He disappears, and three ghost werewolves appear. Aela helps you fight them (she will reappear if she previously vanished). Kill all the ghost werewolves. Aela will be wounded at the end of the fight. Escort Aela to a safe place As you exit Gallows Rock, Hircine speaks again, to say you will not escape. Starting from now, a variety of ordinary wild animals will come to attack you. The safe place you need to get to is Candlehearth Hall in Windhelm. You will not be able to fast travel, but it isn't very far, just get to the nearest road and run for it. As soon as you enter Candlehearth Hall, this part of the quest completes, and Hunted: Mundus begins. Part 2 and 3 walkthroughs still to come. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Walkthrough: The Cloud District Prerequisites: None. NPCs required: Nazeem, Ahlam, Gerda, Farengar, Proventus Avenicci, Arcadia, Danica Pure-Spring, the two Alik'r Warriors who are looking for the Redguard woman, Acolyte Jenssen, Brenuin, Ysolda, Carlotta Valentia, Wilmuth, Alfhild Battle-Born, Elrindir, Balgruuf. If any of these are dead in the vanilla game, the quest will get stuck at the stage just before the one where they are needed. Try reloading an earlier-stage save, resurrect that person using the console, and you should be able to proceed. Ideally Balgruuf also still needs to be Jarl but some people have said it still works if he isn't, as long as he is alive. To start: Look for Nazeem in Whiterun market. He will approach you and initiate a conversation. Keep talking to him and he will brag about his farm, his wife, and his role as the Jarl's advisor. 1. Find out about Nazeem's advisory role. Is he really a trusted advisor? Talk to Provenus Avenicci in Dragonsreach. Proventus tells you he does not believe Nazeem has the military background he claims, and also causes annoyance to the palace staff. 2. Ask Gerda about Nazeem. Talk to Gerda in Dragonsreach. She is annoyed because of how much trouble he makes for her. He has demanded a special mudcrab dish at the upcoming feast and she has no time to catch a mudcrab. Offer to help her and she will accept, and will send you to Farengar for more details. 3. Ask Farengar about catching mudcrabs. Talk to Farengar in Dragonsreach. He will provide you with a special Fork of Paralysis so you can catch a live mudcrab. He dislikes Nazeem and would like to prank him by scaring him with a live mudcrab at the feast instead of a tasty mudcrab dish. Note: He tells you to bring the Fork of Paralysis back afterward, but there are no consequences if you just keep it. 4. Find and paralyze a mudcrab. Go find a mudcrab in any stream or river and hit it with the Fork of Paralysis until you get a notification that the mudcrab has been captured and is in your bag (it will not show up in inventory). 5. Obtain an Elixir of Resist Fire. You want the mudcrab to survive being cooked for this prank. If you don't already have this potion, make or buy one. The best way is to talk to Arcadia in Whiterun. She will be so happy about the idea of pranking Nazeem that she will give you 5 Elixirs of Resist Fire for free. 6. Return to Gerda. Give Gerda the mudcrab and the potion. 7. Attend the feast. As soon as you complete the previous step, guests will start arriving for the feast. Go sit down at the table in Dragonsreach and wait for the fun to start. After Nazeem's dinner has chased him around a bit and embarrassed him in front of everybody, you can go kill the mudcrab and listen to the Jarl and Nazeem's wife Ahlam mock him. 8. Talk to Ahlam. She is not happy about being married to Nazeem. She says Danica Pure-Spring keeps telling her to leave him. 9. Talk to Danica about Ahlam. Talk to Danica Pure-Spring, who can be found either in the Temple of Kynareth in Whiterun, or on the bench under the Gildergreen tree just outside the temple. She thinks Ahlam wants to leave Nazeem but needs an excuse or some encouragement. She suggests tricking Ahlam with a love potion and then arranging for someone else to step in and satisfy her better than Nazeem can. 10. Obtain two love potions from Arcadia. Arcadia is more than happy to give you free potions again, and she suggests you talk to the Alik'r warriors to help with the plan. 11. Convince the guard to let the Alik'r warriors in. Go to the Whiterun gates where you will find a guard arguing with the two Alik'r warriors. Convince the guard to let them in, then talk to the warriors. 12. Talk to the Alik'r warriors. One of them will have a new dialogue option. Get them to agree to help. You only need to talk to one to arrange this, not both. 13. Convince Ahlam. Talk to Ahlam when Nazeem is not around. She works in the Temple of Kynareth and can be found there during the day. Give her the potions to help improve her marriage. 14. Spy on Ahlam and Nazeem. At night, go stand outside the upstairs room at the Drunken Huntsman until Ahlam and Nazeem start their conversation. Usually around midnight should be a good time. Once the conversation starts you can go in and watch, it won't disturb anything. Ahlam wants Nazeem to dress up as an Alik'r warrior to live out her fantasy. Before they get started, the real Alik'r warriors will arrive, beat up Nazeem, and convince Ahlam to try out twice the fantasy experience. After they have all had plenty of fun, the Alik'r will go away and Ahlam will take Nazeem to the temple to get him patched up. 15. Check on Nazeem's injuries. Visit Nazeem in the Temple of Kynareth in Whiterun. He is still suffering the effects of the love potion, while Ahlam is having a wonderful time taunting him by indulging her own feelings with Acolyte Jenssen and wants to keep going! 16. Invite more of Nazeem's enemies to have fun with Ahlam. Go spread the good news that Ahlam is down to party. Invite Proventus Avenicci, Brenuin, Ysolda, and Carlotta Valentia, all found within Dragonsreach or Whiterun. They will be thrilled and will immediately run off to the temple. Once everyone is on their way, go back to the temple yourself and watch the show. 17. Talk to Ahlam. When Ahlam is done with all of them, talk to her again. She will thank you for arranging all this. She plans to leave Nazeem and have fun in her life. She will offer sex to reward you - accept or refuse as you like. 18. Talk to Nazeem. Nazeem is angry and still arrogant, saying at least he still has his farm and money. He is also still under the influence of the love potion and urgently wants some relief. He'll pay you 500 septims to indulge him. Accept or refuse as you like. AFTER COMPLETING THE ABOVE SECTION OF THE QUEST: If you are not already in the Dark Brotherhood and you have not yet done the Dark Brotherhood pre-quest "Delayed Burial," go find Cicero on the road outside Loreius Farm now, and complete that quest before you continue with this one. Otherwise, "Delayed Burial" will be bugged if you try doing it later on, because a necessary NPC will not be in the expected place anymore. "Delayed Burial" is not an essential quest in the Dark Brotherhood storyline, so nothing will be seriously affected if you choose to let it get bugged, but since it's a very short and simple quest which you can complete in a minute or two, you might as well go and do it first. Then continue below. 19. Go to Nazeem's farm. Visit Chillfurrow Farm just outside Whiterun and talk to farm worker Wilmuth there. He hates working for Nazeem but can't quit without another farm job lined up first. 20. Explore alternative employment for Wilmuth. Talk to the owners of other nearby farms. Alfhild Battle-Born (found either at the Battle-Born farm, or in Whiterun, or walking between the two) will tell you she wants to buy Chillfurrow Farm but Nazeem wants too much for it. She thinks he is trying to get enough money to buy Loreius Farm. 21. Talk to Proventus Avenicci about Loreius Farm. Proventus thinks Loreius Farm is too close to a giant camp for safety. Tell him Nazeem wants to buy it. He is eager to continue messing up Nazeem's life, and says he will convince Nazeem that it's a great deal. Some notifications will hurry along the plot at this point without you actually seeing all these deals happen, but Nazeem will now be located at Loreius Farm and the Battle-Borns will take over his previous farm and his farm workers. 22. Lure a giant to Loreius Farm. Do this during the day, and to be on the safe side, visit Loreius Farm first to make sure Nazeem is present and outdoors there. Then go find a giant near Loreius Farm (there is one camp just over the hill, and another further up above the snowline - at least one of these should contain a giant when you get there). Get close enough to the giant to make him angry, or shoot him with an arrow or magic, then sheathe your weapons and run like hell back to the farm with him chasing you. Once you get there, just keep running through the farm and the giant will stop there to fight the farm animals and Nazeem. Stay well clear and enjoy watching the giant yeet Nazeem sky high and all the way back to Whiterun. After this the giant will lose interest and you can safely leave without further pursuit. 23. Talk to Nazeem again. Go find Nazeem in Whiterun where he is staying at the Drunken Huntsman. Talk to him and then wait while a short scene plays out between him and Elrindir, who is angry that Nazeem hasn't paid his rent. Nazeem starts his new life as a Whiterun beggar, humble at last, and the quest is complete. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Walkthrough: The Bully Spoiler Prerequisites: Complete the vanilla "Bullying Braith" quest. Be a member of the College of Winterhold. Don't have any child-removing mods active, because you need to talk to several child NPCs for this quest. NPCs required: Braith, Saffir, Amren, Lars Battle-Born, Idolaf Battle-Born, Bergitte Battle-Born, Urag gro-Shub, Carlotta Valentia, Balgruuf. If any of these are dead in the vanilla game, the quest will get stuck at the stage just before the one where they are needed. Try reloading an earlier-stage save, resurrect that person using the console, and you should be able to proceed. To start: Fast travel back into Whiterun any time after completing "Bullying Braith," and talk to Braith again. She will have a new dialogue option that starts the quest: "Your parents don't give you any advice about boys?" She will tell you her home life is not great. 1. Ask Amren about the family's problems. "You neglecting Braith has turned her into a troubled child, a bully." He will tell you they are having money troubles. 2. Talk to Saffir about money troubles. She will talk about the problems they have had since Braith was born. They have both tried to get different jobs. She trained as a librarian but there is no need for one in Whiterun. She wishes Amren would get a job that pays more. 3. Ask Bergritte Battle-Born for advice. She will talk for a while but has no real advice. As soon as she finishes, Lars Battle-Born will approach and say he has an idea for what Amren and Saffir should do. This is a very long multi-part dialogue and doesn't advance very smoothly, so try not to miss any of it. The final dialogue prompt you get should be "I can change your father's mind." 4. Convince Idolaf that Lars doesn't need to be a fighter to be manly. If you haven't already clicked through all of Idolaf's vanilla dialogue options, you'll have to do that first, then his new dialogue option should appear. "We need to talk about Lars." Persuade him that Lars would make a good businessman and he will agree, but says he still wants Lars to learn how to fight. 5. Talk to Amren and Saffir about Lars' plan. They will both have quests for you. If you want to help the family, talk to Amren first, then talk to Saffir. If you want to break up the family and get more sex/courtship options later, just talk to Saffir. Talk to Amren: To start his swordfighting school, he needs a training location and students. You will get three quests from him. Talk to Balgruuf about letting Amren use the Great Porch at Dragonsreach, and send his children to Amren's school. Talk to Carlotta Valentia about sending her daughter to Amren's school. Talk to Idolaf Battle-Born about sending his son to Amren's school. Talk to Saffir: To open a bookstore, she needs 1000 septims, 20 books, and a supplier for spellbooks. You will get three quests from her. Give Saffir 1000 septims Give Saffir 20 books. Find or buy any 20 books. They don't all have to be different and they don't have to be spellbooks, but I believe you have to give all 20 books to her at once. Finally, she will send you to Urag gro-Shub, located in the Arcanaeum at the College of Winterhold, to persuade him to trade spellbooks with her. After doing this, return to Saffir. She now has a shop inside her house and will thank you. If you have not talked to Amren yet, Saffir may have new dialogue options now (if you have high persuasion/perversion/sadism) or you may have to wait several days. Then you can convince her to divorce Amren and become available for sex/courtship with you, and the quest ends here. 6. Help the family overcome financial troubles. Doing all three of Amren's quests and all three of Saffir's quests will complete this. They will both thank you. Amren will give you Scaled Bracers of Eminent Wielding. You might get options for sexual rewards from Amren or Saffir (haven't confirmed this yet). Wait a day or two, then talk to Amren again. "Is everything all well now with your wife?" He says yes, almost as good as when they were first married. But now with their new jobs, they don't have time for intimacy. He asks you to get Braith out of the house for one evening. 7. Convince Lars to invite Braith to dinner. This is a short conversation, then the quest will complete. As a reward you can go watch Amren and Saffir having sex that night. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Walkthrough: Unbroken Spoiler Prerequisites: Join the Companions and have completed the vanilla "Proving Honor" quest. NPCs required: Vilkas, Uthgerd the Unbroken, Skulvar Sable-Hilt, Arcadia, Farengar, Hulda, Halund (new NPC for this mod), Maramal. If any of these are dead in the vanilla game, the quest will get stuck at the stage just before the one where they are needed. Try reloading an earlier-stage save, resurrect that person using the console, and you should be able to proceed. To start: Walk on the stairs outside Jorrvaskr. Vilkas and Uthgerd will appear outside Jorrvaskr having a conversation. Vilkas is telling her she is too impulsive to join the Companions. 1. Talk to Vilkas about Uthgerd. "(Persuade) Give her another chance! It was an accident." He will agree. A popup appears to say "One month later" and things move along with Uthgerd now a member of the Companions. 2. Check with Vilkas about Uthgerd's progress. He says it is time for her to do her own "Proving Honor" mission. Offer to accompany Uthgerd on the mission. Vilkas agrees and gives you a quest to find and kill Headless Horseman ghosts which have been frightening villagers. He says you will need horses. 3. Ask Uthgerd if she's ready to head out. 4. Go to Whiterun Stables. Uthgerd will already have a horse waiting there. If you do not already own a horse, buy one at the stables (1000 septims). 5. Find the headless horsemen. Ride in search of the ghosts following the quest marker. For me they were at Rorikstead, not sure if this is always the case or if they move around. You will likely have a few random encounters before you get there. Note: If you have to dismount to fight at any point, be careful not to mix up your horses, because she has a tendency to get back onto whichever horse is closest and you will then be targeted as a horse thief if you get onto hers. You do need the horses later so it's easiest to just stay mounted the whole time and let her fight anything that needs fighting. When you find the ghosts, Uthgerd suggests you follow them while she goes a different way to try and surround/trap them. 6. Chase the headless horsemen. There are a bunch of them and they move very fast. Don't bother trying to fight, just ride after them and keep them in sight. 7. Destroy the cornered ghosts. When the ghosts run into Uthgerd's trap, you can dismount and help her fight them until they're all dead. They aren't difficult. 8. Talk to Uthgerd. She discovers the ghosts were wearing armour that makes them appear headless, and takes the armour to use as a prank. 9. Go back to Whiterun Stables. Uthgerd puts on the headless armour and plays dead outside the stables until Skulvar Sable-Hilt sees her. You may have to wait a while, if you get back at night. He is very upset and reveals his feelings for her. When he finds it was a joke, he goes into his house and locks the door. 10. Talk to Skulvar. He won't come out for several days. When he does, persuade him to speak openly about his feelings to Uthgerd. You will get another "One month later" notification. 11. Check progress with Skulvar. This still seems to take a lot of waiting around for him to reappear outside the stables. When you ask him how it is going with Uthgerd, it is not going well and he wants you to get him a love potion to improve his chances. 12. Obtain a love potion from Arcadia. The love potion costs 500 septims, or you can choose to help Arcadia get together with Farengar. 13. Convince Farengar to come to Arcadia's Cauldron. "(Persuade) Arcadia is doing some alchemy research on dragon scale." He will agree to visit her. 14. Return to Arcadia. Let her know Farengar will visit, and get the love potion as your payment. Note: I feel like there was supposed to be an option to watch these two together, but I never saw anything happen except that Farengar is now hanging around inside Arcadia's shop all the time. 15. Return to Skulvar. Deliver the potion to Skulvar at the stables. He says he will invite Uthgerd for a drink at the Bannered Mare that night. 16. Spy on Skulvar and Uthgard at the Bannered Mare. A lot of people are reporting this stage is seriously buggy. Enter the Bannered Mare at night. One or both of them might be there but frozen in place, and/or one or both of them is missing. If you walk to the far end of the room you will get the completion notification that you have successfully spied on them, but no dialogue regardless of whether they are present. How to fix this using console commands: If one or both of them is missing, use the console to bring them to you in the Bannered Mare. The first ID is Uthgerd, the second ID is Skulvar: Prid 00091918 moveto player Prid 0001A69C moveto player then close the console. One or both of them will now be frozen in place with "This person is busy" appearing. To fix this, punch Skulvar a few times until he starts fighting you. A guard will come to take you away, so pay your fine and then run back to the Bannered Mare, and things should now be moving along. You still won't see any dialogue happening or get any updates, but you will see Uthgerd and Hulda having sex in the middle of The Bannered Mare and Skulvar will leave. When this whole buggy mess finishes, it should be possible to talk to Uthgerd and then you can move on. 17. Talk to Uthgerd. She says she only is attracted to women, and is in a relationship with Hulda. She wants you to break the news to Skulvar. 18. Console Skulvar. Back to the stables to talk to Skulvar. When he finds out Uthgerd is a lesbian, he expresses a belief that she must be under a curse, and needs to be cured so she will be attracted to men. You have two possible responses to this: First option: "It's not a curse. That's just the way she is. You'll have to accept it." If you choose this, he angrily tells you "If you won't help me, then sod off." You will not get any journal update about what to do next. Go find Uthgerd (she is now in Jorrvaskr). As soon as you enter Jorrvaskr, you will find out Hulda has been kidnapped, and you and Uthgerd must go to Brittleshin Pass to rescue her. Skip to #19 below. Second option: "Do you want my help in curing Uthgerd of this terrible curse?" If you choose this, he asks you to slander Hulda all around Whiterun to drive her out of business, so that she will leave town and remove "temptation" for Uthgerd. 18a. Slander Hulda. Go talk to a bunch of NPCs. Most of them will have the new dialogue option to slander Hulda. Once you have done enough (I think it's about 6-8 NPCs) you will get a notification that this is complete. 18b.Return to Skulvar. "Everyone in Whiterun knows about Hulda's secret." No wait time needed, he immediately says she has sold the inn, but now she has just moved in with Uthgerd. He has found a mage to "cure" Uthgerd but needs 1000 septims more to pay the mage. Give him 1000 septims. Again, you will not get a journal update about what to do next, but go to Jorrvaskr and the same rescue plotline will start. 19. Rescue Hulda. Go to North Brittleshin Pass with Uthgerd. Kill a few easy skeletons and a necromancer. Uthgerd will take care of most of it. Hulda is in a cage in the room where the necromancer is. After Uthgerd talks to Hulda, Skulvar appears with a mage called Halund. It was a trap to bring Uthgerd to Halund. Halund paralyzes Uthgerd and casts his gay-curing spells on her. Afterward, she angrily says nothing has changed, because there was nothing that needed curing. Halund disappears, Uthgerd forces Skulvar to free Hulda, and they all head back to Whiterun. Minor bugs noticed at this stage: Uthgerd may get stuck rambling around the cave, but if you just leave her there she will turn up back in Whiterun. Hulda now seems to have vampire dialogue and will keep saying "Get out of the way, meat." Go back to Whiterun and wait about a day. Uthgerd and Hulda will now be living together at Uthgerd's house if you want to watch them having sex. Wait a couple of days then enter Jorrvaskr. Uthgerd will have a new dialogue option: "3 months since Brittleshin Pass. How is it going with Hulda?" She says they plan to get married, but need to sort out some things first. Ask if you can help. She wants you to check whether the Temple of Mara in Riften is okay with gay weddings. Ask if that is all she needs. She also wants you to check if Skulvor is getting over things and will be her friend again. 20. Travel to Riften. The quest marker will direct you to the Bee & Barb Inn, not the temple. If you go to the temple, there is nothing to do there. Enter the Bee & Barb. Halund is inside trying to sell his magic gayness cure. When his speech finishes, talk to him. "We meet again." He will beg you not to hurt him Options: "I'll see how you run your scam in Oblivion!" He will immediately run away. If you choose to chase and kill him, you can loot him for 3000 septims and Master Robes of Illusion. "Sod off and never return! Or I'll kill you next time!" He will thank you and run away. Now the next quest stage should activate (or it will activate while you are talking to him). 21. Talk to Maramel about the wedding. Enter the Temple of Mara in Riften and talk to Maramal. He says the Jarl only allows straight weddings, but the temple ignores this and he is happy to marry same-sex couples. 22. Invite Skulvar to the wedding. He agrees to go to the wedding. Sex option: "(Perverted) Unlike Uthgerd, I'm attracted to men. Wouldn't mind cheering you up." The quest will now show as Completed if you look in your journal. I didn't get a completion notification come up. This seems to be a very abrupt ending, but I checked the scripts and confirmed that there isn't anything else that is supposed to happen after this. -------------------------------------------------------------------- The Jarl's Wife: Quick Tips Scroll further down for the full quest walkthrough. This section just summarizes how to bang whichever NPC you're interested in. If you want to court/marry Jarl Balgruuf Spoiler Don't give Nelkir the sword. Make sure Irileth dies in the battle at the monument (this isn't difficult, just don't go out of your way to kill all the bad guys quickly, and eventually they will overwhelm her). Talk to Balgruuf after the battle at the monument. Once you are in a relationship with him, you can propose marriage in the usual way with an Amulet of Mara. If you want to court Hrongar Spoiler Don't give Nelkir the sword. Talk to Hrongar after the battle at the monument. If you want Balgruuf and Irileth to end up together Spoiler I have not confirmed this yet, but I believe it's an option if Irileth survives the battle at the monument and you talk to Balgruuf afterward to encourage him to seek a new lover. If you want to court Bjartur Spoiler Find her hiding behind the market stalls in Solitude during the Thalmor scene, and persuade her not to attack the Thalmor. Later, after ambushing the pimp and prostitute, find her again in the Solitude Hall of the Dead Catacombs and convince her to help you. After completing the Thalmor Headquarters mission with her, talk to her again and you will get the relationship option. Other sex options in this quest: You will have a chance to either fuck your way through a castle full of horny Thalmor, or make a female companion do it for you. Three other brief sex scenes to watch: a Thalmor and an unnamed prostitute, Freyr/Hrongar, Freyr/Lokir. Apart from the Thalmor castle, most of this quest is non-sexual. You get three possible courtship options (one female, two male). Walkthrough: The Jarl's Wife See also the Quick Tips section directly above for details on how to bang whichever NPCs you're interested in. Part 1: getting started Spoiler Prerequisites: Be a member of the Dark Brotherhood. You don't have to be a member to start this quest, but eventually you won't be able to progress further without joining. Possible conflicts, not confirmed yet: If you have already done the vanilla quest The Whispering Door, you will do part of it again during this quest and I am not sure if this is a problem or not. If the vanilla Civil War quest has put the Imperials in charge of Whiterun, Balgruuf and many other Dragonsreach NPCs will be located in the Blue Palace in Solitude instead of Dragonsreach - the mod creator said everything will still work in this situation, but I haven't confirmed that, and you'll have to read the walkthrough with the change of location in mind. NPCs required: Balgruuf, Irileth, Hrongar, Nelkir, Proventus Avenicci, Fralia Gray-Mane OR Olfina Gray-Mane, Farengar, Nazir. If any of these are dead in the vanilla game, the quest will get stuck at the stage just before the one where they are needed. Try reloading an earlier-stage save, resurrect that person using the console, and you should be able to proceed. To start: Walk into The Bannered Mare in Whiterun. Protect Jarl Balgruuf from the assassins As soon as you enter The Bannered Mare, you will see Jarl Balgruuf being attacked by three assassins. He and other tavern patrons are fighting back. Assist in the fight until all assassins are dead. Talk to Jarl Balgruuf MINOR BUG: This part is awkwardly timed. Balgruuf will start talking to you, but then turns into "this person is busy" if you try to continue the conversation. Be patient and soon afterward, Irileth will arrive and continue the scene with Balgruuf. After this is done and Irileth leaves, you should be able to continue talking to Balgruuf. He will ask you for a favor: he thinks Irileth is too worried about his safety, and he wants to make another public appearance at the stables tomorrow. He asks you to distract her so he can do this. Find a way to distract Irileth Go to Dragonsreach and talk to Irileth. You must start this conversation between 9 a.m. and noon, any day, and Balgruuf must be nearby. Otherwise you won't get the necessary dialogue options. Challenge Irileth to a duel. She will refuse, but Balgruuf will tell her she should. Irileth will agree, and arrange to meet you at the Great Porch. Meet Irileth out in the Great Porch. She will be there whenever you arrive (it doesn't even have to be on the same day). Prolong the duel for at least three hours You don't need to win, but you need to either be high enough level to defeat Irileth, or at any level, plan ahead so you can survive for around 5 or 6 minutes of real time (or whatever your settings consider to be the equivalent of 3 hours of game time). If you are not high level, go prepared with a lot of potions so you can just keep running around the porch and healing; a paralysis weapon or spell will help too. She uses a sword and shock magic. You won't be able to kill her, but she can kill you. If you defeat her, the duel ends and you failed your mission. If you keep her fighting until the timer runs out, you succeeded in the mission. You will proceed to the next stage either way. Return to Jarl Balgruuf If you kept Irileth fighting for the full amount of time, he will reward you. If you defeated her too soon, you get no reward, but there are no other consequences. In both cases he will give you a new mission. Ask Jarl Balgruuf about the new mission He wants you to investigate who is behind the assassination attempt, and sends you to Proventus Avenicci for more information. Ask Proventus about the suspects behind the assassination attempts He has no evidence, but says the Gray-Manes and the Thalmor are the most likely suspects. He will give you more information about how to investigate both of these. Investigate the Gray-Manes and the Thalmor, then return to Proventus You need to do both of these, but you can do them in any order. See Part 2a and Part 2b in this walkthrough for details of each side quest. Part 2a: Investigate the Gray-Manes Spoiler Proventus wants you to check the Gray-Mane house in Whiterun for evidence. You must not let anyone find out this is what you are doing. Do not take any followers with you. During this quest, the lock on the house will be set to require a key. Obtain the key to the Gray-Mane house If you don't already have the key from a previous vanilla quest or from the "Forbidden Love" quest in this mod, you can get it by either helping Fralia, or courting Olfina. If you do it by helping Fralia, you only need to help her with the beginning of the vanilla Thorald rescue quest to get the key and meet her in the house to talk about it. Completing that whole quest won't add anything else. POSSIBLE BUG: I think there is no way you can actually court Olfina in this quest. It may be that the objective is badly worded. In the vanilla game, she is not courtable, and nothing in this quest makes any changes to Olfina. I think the reason it's mentioned as an option is because if you have already done the Forbidden Love quest in this mod, one of the possible endings to THAT quest is being in a relationship with Olfina. So if you have already done Forbidden Love and got that ending, you already courted Olfina and already got the key. But there's no way to start courting her in THIS quest, as far as I can tell. So just talk to Fralia instead. Search the Gray-Mane house This quest objective will appear in your Miscellaneous quests. Set it to active so you can see quest markers on all the locations you need to check. You do not need to use stealth - since you are there with a key given to you by a family member, nobody in the house will care if you open cupboards, as long as you are careful not to accidentally steal anything. You will not find any evidence, and will get a notification confirming this after you have checked all the marked locations. When you have completed this AND the Thalmor investigation described in Part 2b of this walkthrough, return to Proventus and continue with Part 3 of this walkthrough. He will not have any new dialogue until both investigations are completed. Part 2b: Investigate the Thalmor Spoiler Proventus wants you to check the Thalmor Headquarters in Solitude for evidence. Do not take any followers with you. Important note: the Thalmor Headquarters is a new location created for this mod - it is NOT the same as the Thalmor Embassy in the vanilla game. Nothing you do in this mod will conflict with the vanilla Thalmor Embassy quest. Visit Solitude Go to Solitude and head to the marketplace. A group of Thalmor will be there, along with a pimp and a prostitute. Watch what's happening A Thalmor will talk briefly to the pimp, then there will be a pause while everyone just stands around. Go look behind the market stalls. In the corner near some barrels you will see a hooded, crouching Nord woman, Bjartur. If you talk to her and ask why she is hiding, you will find out that she plans to attack the Thalmor. You can either persuade her not to try, or let her go ahead and do it (or just not talk to her in the first place). If she attacks the Thalmor they will kill her. Make this choice based on whether or not you want her to be alive to help you distract the Thalmor with sex later on. The Thalmor marketplace scene will continue, with or without Bjartur's attack and death. When the scene is over, the Thalmor will leave. If Bjartur did not attack, she will sneak away toward the Hall of the Dead. Follow the Thalmor When the group leaves, follow them to see where they are going. You do not need to use stealth. They will arrive at a door upstairs in the Castle Dour battlements guarded by more Thalmor. This is the Thalmor Headquarters. Eavesdrop on the conversation Listen to the scene outside the door. You do not need to use stealth. You will learn that another pimp and prostitute are expected to arrive here soon from the Thalmor Embassy. This is your opportunity for a disguise to get inside the Thalmor Headquarters. Intercept the pimp and prostitute Follow your quest marker immediately to the pimp and prostitute who will be somewhere nearby, on or near the road to Solitude. Kill them both (make sure nobody sees you do it) and loot them. You will get a notification saying their clothes will be useful. If Bjartur is still alive, you will get a new quest objective, "(Optional) Find the hooded Stormcloak assassin and ask for help." There are two ways you can successfully complete the Thalmor Headquarters mission: Put on the prostitute's clothing and go back to the Headquarters alone. You will be able to go anywhere in the Headquarters and stay as long as you like, and will also be available to all the Thalmor for sex while you're there. Note, I haven't confirmed yet if this works the same if your character is male. After you have the clothing, find Bjartur again and convince her to help you (see below). She will put on the prostitute's clothing automatically and this will leave you to put on the pimp's clothing. This works whether your character is male or female. You will be able to go anywhere in the Headquarters and stay as long as you like. You can choose whether you get involved in the sex yourself or not. IMPORTANT: Because Bjartur wants to kill all the Thalmor, you will need to do that in addition to your information seeking. This makes the quest significantly more difficult (if you are low level, it will be practically impossible without cheat codes). TO INFILTRATE THE HEADQUARTERS ALONE There are 10 Thalmor (Thalmor Soldiers and Thalmor Wizards, both men and women) in three rooms. They will all solicit you for sex repeatedly the whole time you are there, so you can do this as much as you like for as long as you like. Make sure you have the quest objective set to active (it is in your Miscellaneous quests) so you can see quest markers on all the locations you need to check. Some locations are open shelves - for these, you can simply walk over to them and the marker will clear without having to use stealth or open any cupboards. Some require opening a cupboard. If the Thalmor see you opening cupboards, they will swarm you and kill you. Most can be checked just by crouching there and waiting until nobody is looking in your direction - you can stay in the Headquarters as long as you like and the Thalmor move around quite a lot. Or use an invisibility potion if necessary. Each cupboard just needs to be opened and then closed - you will not find any evidence. When you have checked all marked locations, you will get a notification that no evidence was found, and can leave the building without anyone stopping you. When you have completed this AND the Gray-Mane investigation described in Part 2a of this walkthrough, return to Proventus and then continue with Part 3 of the walkthrough. He will not have any new dialogue until both investigations are completed. TO INFILTRATE THE HEADQUARTERS WITH BJARTUR (Optional) Find the hooded Stormcloak assassin and ask for help She is in Solitude Hall of the Dead Catacombs. "So this is where you've been hiding." She tells you not to waste her time unless you have a plan against the Thalmor. You can end the conversation by saying "Never mind," or continue by saying "That's exactly what I'm planning to do." Explain that you have ambushed the Thalmors' pimp and prostitute and want to pose as them. "(Persuade) Your body is the only way we can isolate each Thalmor to kill them." "(Perverted) You won't have to take them on by yourself." When you convince her, she will put on the prostitute's outfit. This will leave you to put on the pimp's outfit. This works whether your character is male or female. Go back to the Thalmor Headquarters in Castle Dour and the guards will let you both in. You will now get a new objective: Kill all Thalmor in the building discreetly There are 10 of them, including Thalmor Soldiers and Thalmor Wizards. You and/or Bjartur can use sex to distract them, but if any of them notices an attack, all 10 of them will swarm you. If you succeed in killing them all, check all the marked cupboards and shelves (this will be in your Miscellaneous quests, set it active to see all locations) for information. You will not find anything. When finished, exit the Headquarters. The guards outside will not know or care about any deaths inside. Talk to Bjartur again. She will tell you she plans to leave Solitude and join the Stormcloaks. Your options: "Good luck!" She will leave. "You can always go live with me." Starts a relationship with Bjartur. When you have completed this AND the Gray-Mane investigation described in Part 2a of this walkthrough, return to Proventus and then continue with Part 3 of the walkthrough. He will not have any new dialogue until both investigations are completed. Part 3: Nelkir and Mephala Spoiler Return to Proventus He will be surprised that you found no evidence of Gray-Mane or Thalmor involvement in the attack. He suggests that the only other people likely to know anything are the Dark Brotherhood. Extract information from the Dark Brotherhood Because you need to talk to Nazir, and you can't talk to Nazir unless you are in the Dark Brotherhood, you are going to have to join, if you haven't already. Follow the vanilla Dark Brotherhood questline at least up to the point where you meet Nazir and can talk to him for new contracts. Then follow Nazir's vanilla dialogue options until you get a chance to say "I need some information about a contract," then "I need to know who is after Jarl Balgruuf's head." He will tell you it is Balgruuf's young son Nelkir. Confront Nelkir Go back to Dragonsreach and talk to Nelkir (the annoying kid who says things like "Another wanderer, here to lick my father's boots.") "I know you're behind your father's assassination attempts." He says he doesn't want to, but the Whispering Lady makes him do it. Confront the Whispering Lady This now starts the vanilla Daedric quest "The Whispering Door," picking up that quest at its stage 20 but otherwise going through it exactly as in the vanilla game. I am not sure what happens if you have already done this quest in the vanilla game; based on the code, it seems like you just do it again and you will end up with another version of the Ebony Blade if you already have it. If anybody has done this, please let me know your results. When you complete The Whispering Door and get the Ebony Blade, this mod now adds a new dialogue option for Mephala which returns you to the mod questline. If you can't get her to say this, leave the room, close the door, and talk to the door again. "Are you manipulating Nelkir into patricide?" She will say she is just guiding him to his destiny. "What destiny?" She says you should ask the person who first brought the Ebony Blade into Dragonsreach. To find who this was, talk to Balgruuf, Irileth, Proventus, or Farengar. They will all have identical dialogue options. Upon successful persuasion, they will tell you it was Hrongar, who is now away fighting bandits at Halted Stream Camp. They will suggest you go help him and then you can ask him about the Ebony Blade. You will not get a quest objective to go to Halted Stream Camp. Go there (take a follower and a lot of potions if you are low level) and kill all the bandits. There is the usual number of bandits outside. Once you get inside, you will find Hrongar fighting a metric assload of bandits (it was hard to get a good count, but around 15-20, including Bandits, Bandit Outlaws, Bandit Thugs, and Bandit Chiefs). When you're done, talk to Hrongar and he will tell you the Ebony Blade corrupts people, and he himself was once corrupted by it. But he will not tell you any more than this. Return to Mephala Talk to the door again. "So you corrupted Hrongar to betray Balgruuf somehow?" She will give you a hint that it had something to do with Nelkir's mother. Learn about Nelkir's mother Ask around the NPCs in Dragonsreach. Several will have bits of information, usually ending by telling you the Jarl doesn't like anyone to talk about it. Irileth, after successful persuasion, will tell you the truth: Nelkir's mother went insane and killed a steward, then killed herself. Return to Mephala Talk to the door again. "You possessed Freyr to kill the steward and commit suicide?" She says no, it was more complicated than that. She will not say any more. When you walk away from the door, Hrongar will appear and confront you. After a short conversation, he will run off. Follow Hrongar Hrongar runs to the Jarl and there is a scene between them and Proventus. Hrongar confesses his guilt in the death of the Jarl's wife, under the influence of the Ebony Blade. This results in the decision to banish Hrongar, and he will be escorted by Irileth to Whitewatch Tower. Irileth now approaches you and asks that you stay at the Bannered Mare for a few nights while she is gone, so Proventus can call on your help in case there is another assassination attempt. Part 4: Defeating Mephala Spoiler Get some rest at the Bannered Mare Go to the Bannered Mare and sleep in a bed. Even if it's an owned bed you won't get in trouble for it. You will wake up to Proventus telling you to come to Dragonsreach - the men guarding the cellar have been possessed by Mephala and are attacking the Jarl. Hurry to Dragonsreach If you aren't ready for another big fight, get yourself sorted out before you enter Dragonsreach. Go upstairs to the Jarl's quarters, where you will find him surrounded by 10 motionless guards with their swords drawn. A scene plays out between the Jarl and Nelkir, who is possessed by Mephala. A very long scene then takes place, showing what happened between Hrongar, the Jarl's wife Freyr, and the steward Lokir. MINOR BUG: As various NPCs in the scene arrive, the guards standing around may block their pathway to where they're supposed to be for the scene. If you see somebody bumping around on the outside of the bunch of guards, you may be able to move things along by walking into enough guards yourself to make them move out of the way. This long scene will end in you being given a choice by Nelkir/Mephala: give Nelkir the Ebony Blade, or refuse to help Mephala and protect the Jarl instead. IF YOU GIVE THE SWORD TO NELKIR He kills the Jarl, then gives the Ebony Blade back to you. There is a bit more dialogue from Mephala and the quest completes. There is one small, amusing epilogue when you go back downstairs to the main hall. Here you will see Balgruuf back on the throne, alive and well. If you talk to him, he will break the fourth wall and speak directly as the mod creator, saying if he had really killed Balgruuf and replaced him with Nelkir, it would be too complicated and break too many other things in the game, so that was just a fake copy. This is the end of the quest for you now. IF YOU DON'T GIVE THE SWORD TO NELKIR The guards will activate and start attacking Balgruuf. You must now save him. Protect Jarl Balgruuf Kill the 10 guards. Other friendly guards and Commander Caius will come running to help you. At low level, I found it helpful to get outside the bedroom for this fight; otherwise, you're going to end up in a tiny room with a swarm of indistinguishable good guys and bad guys who are all dressed the same. Talk to Jarl Balgruuf Talk to him once all the attackers are dead. He will ask you to find a way to break Mephala's influence permanently. Starting now, you will get random events in which 2-3 random NPCs at a time will drop out of the sky and start attacking, with the notification "Mephala has possessed some of my own friends to kill me." When this happens in a town, the guards will help you fight them. They will attack only until they are knocked down, and you can then leave. This will happen frequently. These events will stop happening when you reach Metina. Discover how to break Mephala's influence You will not get any hints or quest marker for this. The answer is to talk to a College of Winterhold mage. If you are a member of the College, go there and ask around. If you are not a member of the College, go to the Frozen Hearth Inn in Winterhold and talk to the mage Nelacar, who hangs out there instead of inside the College. They will all have the same dialogue, telling you the best person to help you is Metina, a College graduate who studies the Daedra. MINOR BUG: NPC dialogue and quest objective don't match here. The NPC will say Metina lives in a shack near Rorikstead. However, the quest objective will say Ivarstead, and the quest marker is near Ivarstead. Ivarstead is correct. Find Metina near Ivarstead There is a quest marker on the location - a shack southwest of Ivarstead. Expect a number of possessed NPC attacks on your way there. When you get to Metina's shack and ask her for help, she tells you that the answer is for the Jarl himself to bury the Ebony Blade at Gjukar's Monument, followed by a certain spell that she will cast. She now starts following you. Tell the Jarl what needs to be done Return to Dragonsreach with Metina and talk to the Jarl. He agrees to try it. He and Irileth now start following you too. You are in for another big fight so stock up any supplies you need before you head to the location. Travel to Gjukar's Monument There is a quest marker on the location - southeast of Rorikstead. When you arrive, there is a scene in which you give the Jarl the Ebony Blade, he buries it, and Metina casts her spell. Metina then reveals she is in Mephala's service, and raises an army of dead soldiers to attack you. Irileth and Balgruuf will fight too, but this is a fairly major fight, including a swarm of attackers, at least one Dremora Lord, and Metina casting fire spells from a distance. Irileth may or may not die during this battle. After a certain amount of time, Hrongar arrives to help. You will still have to keep fighting a bit longer. After some more time, the spirit of Gjukar will appear, offended by Metina's actions at his grave. He now raises his own army of ghost soldiers to fight on your side. When all of Metina's soldiers have been killed, you, Balgruuf, and Hrongar will be left to finish off Metina herself. Talk to Gjukar's Spirit He will tell you that he and his ghost soldiers will guard the Ebony Blade from now on, and prevent Mephala from using it again. The quest completes. Hrongar will start walking away, and after a short time, Balgruuf will walk away too. If you talk to either of them now, you can open relationship options. IF YOU TALK TO HRONGAR He will say he intends not to go back to Dragonsreach, as it will be awkward for the Jarl to have him there, after all this. Continue the conversation if you are interested in a relationship with Hrongar. IF YOU TALK TO BALGRUUF "You wanted to thank me for killing Metina?" He will reply with his vanilla, voiced thank-you dialogue, and a 200 septim reward. "What do you think about Freyr and Hrongar now?" This leads to a longer conversation, in which you can tell him it's time to move on and maybe find healing and intimacy with a new love. If Irileth is alive, you can steer him toward a relationship with her. If Irileth is dead, you can continue this conversation if you are interested in a relationship with Balgruuf. If you go for this, you can later propose to him in the usual way with an Amulet of Mara. -------------------------------------------------------------------- The Blacksmith and the Drunkard: Quick Tips Scroll further down for the full quest walkthrough. This section just summarizes how to bang whichever NPC you're interested in. If you want to court/fuck Embry Spoiler At the beginning, when you get the quest objective "Learn more about Alvor's marriage," ask Hilde questions (the old woman NPC in Riverwood) before you talk to Embry again. The information you get from Hilde will give you the conversational option with Embry that leads to courtship. Then talk to Embry, become friends with him by giving him a drink, and keep talking to him until he tells you how Sigrid broke his heart. You can make two possible responses to this: "That's horrible what she did." If you have high perversion, this leads to being able to flirt with Embry and have sex with him once. If you have low perversion, he will just thank you. "You can't fool me, Embry. You were no gentleman." This option will only be available if your Sadism is below 50 and you talked to Hilde. Choose this option if you want courtship. Follow the new conversational path it will start, until you get the option to say "No, I'm not like her. I'll be with you. Let's rebuild your life together." POSSIBLE BUG: One person has reported they got this option, but after choosing it, it didn't lead to any more dialogue. I have not figured this out yet, but if it happens, try any of these: reset your Sadism in the console to below 50, buy Emby a drink again for friendship, and/or set this variable in the console: set DI_Global_Blacksmith_Embry to 1 which is what he should have been updated to after you talked to Hilde. If you want to court/fuck Sigrid Spoiler First, you need to make sure Alvor stays alive throughout the quest, so don't give Embry any money. Then, when you get to the part of the quest where you discover Embry and Sigrid having sex, you can follow either of these paths: Blackmail option: Talk to Sigrid and choose the option "Cheating whore, I'll tell Alvor about this." This will only be an option if you have high perversion. Courtship option: Leave Embry alive, and tell Alvor about the affair. Alvor will kill Embry, and he will be arrested and imprisoned. Don't try to free Alvor. Talk to Sigrid and convince her that Alvor asked you to take care of her and Dorthe. You can still do this even if you already did the blackmail option. If you want to court/fuck Alvor Spoiler First, you need to make sure Alvor stays alive throughout the quest, so don't give Embry any money. Then, when you get to the part of the quest where you discover Embry and Sigrid having sex, you can follow either of these paths: Kill Embry. (If you have high sadism, you can also kill Sigrid, but this won't change the outcome.) Then tell Alvor about the affair. Or, leave both Embry and Sigrid alive, then tell Alvor about the affair. Alvor will kill Embry, and he will be arrested and imprisoned. Take Sigrid to Whiterun with you, and make her fuck the guard captain in return for releasing Alvor. Then, pick up Alvor from prison, and go with him straight to the guard barracks to watch Sigrid fucking the captain. If you have high perversion or sadism (not sure which is needed) you can now make Alvor break up with Sigrid and be with you instead. If you want to court/fuck both Embry and Alvor in turn Spoiler 1. Don't talk to Sigrid about Dorthe, until after you have followed the quick tips above for courting Embry. 3. Once you're in a relationship with Embry, don't give him any money at any point. 4. Then you can continue with the rest of the quest, and follow the quick tips for courting Alvor after Embry is dead. Additional sex path: have sex with the female blacksmith Spoiler Do Sigrid's side quest to bring a female blacksmith of your choice to visit Riverwood and prove women can be successful blacksmiths. After completing this side quest, if you have high perversion, you will get this option to thank the female blacksmith: "(Perverted) How about me giving you a more personal thank you?" She will have three possible reactions: If you are the Dragonborn: "Well, you're the Dragonborn after all. Who am I to turn you down?" If you are her friend: "Well, I do like you a lot. Let's do it!" Refusal: "I'm flattered, but my heart belongs to someone else." Additional sex path: get blackmailed for sex by either Sven or Faendal Spoiler Before starting this quest, complete the vanilla quest "The Lovely Letters." Then, during this quest, kill Embry when you find him in bed with Sigrid. Whichever suitor did not end up with Camilla in "The Lovely Letters" will now be able to blackmail you. Walkthrough: The Blacksmith and the Drunkard See also the Quick Tips section directly above for details on how to bang whichever NPCs you're interested in. This quest has a ton of possible branches and not all of them give you any guidance about what you're supposed to do next. I think I got them documented correctly here, but I probably missed some. Part 1: getting started Spoiler Prerequisites: Do the vanilla quest "Before the Storm" at least as far as getting the quest objective to talk to the Jarl of Whiterun. NPCs required: Sigrid, Alvor, Embry, Dorthe, Adrienne Avenicci (can potentially be replaced by another female blacksmith), Hilde (perhaps not essential, but without her you will miss out on various options), Commander Caius or Captain Sinmir (whichever one of them is currently guard captain in Whiterun). If any of these are dead in the vanilla game, the quest will get stuck at the stage just before the one where they are needed. Try reloading an earlier-stage save, resurrect that person using the console, and you should be able to proceed. Optional: If you have completed the vanilla quest "The Lovely Letters" (Camilla's love triangle with Sven and Faendal), the suitor who did not end up with Camilla will be able to blackmail you for sex during this quest. Optional, for the sake of a bug fix: Complete the vanilla quest "The Jagged Crown" on either the Imperial or Stormcloak side. This will get rid of Hadvar from a stage in this quest where he sometimes breaks it. To start: Walk down the street in Riverwood during the daytime. The quest will begin when you get near The Sleeping Giant Inn, with a scene and conversation between Sigrid and Embry. 1. Witness what's happening. Stay until the whole scene finishes. Embry flirts with Sigrid. Sigrid's husband Alvor will eventually come running over angrily with an axe, threatening Embry, and the scene indicates there is some messy history between these three characters. 2. Learn more about Alvor's marriage. To get the most options later, talk to the uninvolved NPCs in Riverwood first, then talk to Sigrid and Alvor, then talk to Embry. Sigrid has two questions available if you talk to her before Embry: "How did you meet Alvor?" and "Why was Alvor so angry?" Note: If you want the option later in the quest to fuck both Alvor and Embry, do not talk to Sigrid about Dorthe yet. See quick tips above. Alvor has two questions available if you talk to him before Embry: "How did you meet Sigrid?" and "Why were you so angry?" There are at least 8 NPCs in Riverwood you can ask. Camilla Valerius, Lucan Valerius, Faendal, Sven, Hod, Hilde, and Orgnar will all have the same two questions available: "Is Embry always drunk?" and "What do you know about Alvor and Sigrid?" They will all tell you various answers, but the only one whose answers will add more options later is Hilde (her information will give you one new option later, which is necessary if you want courtship with Embry). Talk to Embry while he is inside the inn: "(Persuade) I think you should leave Sigrid alone. She's a married woman." If you cannot persuade Embry, he will reply "Get out of my way, stranger!" Try his other option and offer him a drink (if you have the SexLab Solutions mod installed, drinking will be replaced with sex, which works just as well in this case). After this you will be his friend. Talk to him again and you will see a new option: "Hey, drinking buddy, I brought you fine alcohol today!" A message will now pop up, saying you spend time with Embry for a few evenings and find he is quite charming, but he dodges any talk about Sigrid. Now talk to Embry again, to persuade him to leave Sigrid alone. He will tell you that Sigrid used to be his lover, but she broke his heart by marrying Alvor for his money instead. You have two possible responses to him: "That's horrible what she did." If you have high perversion, this leads to being able to flirt with Embry and have sex with him once. If you have low perversion he will just thank you. Then you can move to the next step of the quest. "You can't fool me, Embry. You were no gentleman." This will only be an option if you talked to Hilde. Follow the new conversational path it will start, until you get the option to say "(Kind) No, I'm not like her. I'll be with you. Let's rebuild your life together." This allows you to start the courtship path with Embry. If you take this option, he will promise to get his old job back and start saving up for a house, and the conversation will end. The next time you talk to him (either immediately or later) you will get the option to lend him money, which starts another branch of the quest, so don't do that just yet until you have read further in the walkthrough and are sure you want to move along with this branch. POSSIBLE BUG: One person has reported they got the "You were no gentleman" option, but after choosing it, it didn't lead to any more dialogue. After reaching this point, stop talking to Embry and go do the following things, if any of them appeal to you: Go talk to Sigrid now, and you may get new options to tell her you're available if she ever feels adventurous again (I think this always leads to a rejection but I'm not sure about that). Go talk to Dorthe to start the blacksmith plotline (described in Part 3 of this walkthrough). Check to see if Hadvar is still hanging out inside Sigrid's house. If he is, take a bit of time to start the vanilla Civil War quest (on either side) and complete the second quest in that storyline, "The Jagged Crown." This will get rid of Hadvar from the house, which prevents a bug later. Part 2: only available if you started courting Embry Spoiler 3. Help your lover Embry get his life back together. The next time you talk to him, Embry will want 1000 septims to buy a house for the two of you. If you have done everything else you want to do (see part 1 of this walkthrough, above), go ahead and give him the money now. But if you want to do the blacksmith side quest, wait until you have done part 3 of this walkthrough below, then give him the money after that. After you give Embry the money, you have two choices depending on whether or not you want Alvor to die, because Embry will secretly use the money to hire thugs to kill Alvor, If you're okay with this happening, just continue with the quest. To prevent Alvor's death, pickpocket Embry right after Alvor says he will travel to Whiterun the next morning. You will see a note in Embry's inventory. Read the note and warn Alvor before he leaves. This means you will NOT be able to do the affair part of the plot, because Alvor will kill Embry and you will skip straight to part 5 of this walkthrough. Part 3: get Alvor and Dorthe to go on a trip to Whiterun Spoiler If Alvor has not killed Embry, your next step to move on with any path in the quest is to get Alvor and Dorthe out of town so you can catch Embry and Sigrid having their affair. Here's how you do that. Talk to Dorthe (there is no quest objective for this). "You want to become a blacksmith when you grow up?" She says yes, and her father approves, but her mother does not. You have two possible responses: "Your mama is right. You should act more ladylike and grow up to be a good wife." "Your papa is right. You would make a fine blacksmith." If you pick the second one, you will get some more conversation, then offer to talk to her mother about it. Now talk to Sigrid. "(Persuade) You should let Dorthe pursue her dream." If your persuasion is high enough, you will convince Sigrid immediately to let Dorthe be a blacksmith, and you can move on to the next stage. Otherwise, you get this side quest before you can move on: SIDE QUEST, IF REQUIRED TO PERSUADE SIGRID: If you can't persuade Sigrid, you need to bring a female blacksmith to visit Riverwood, so Sigrid will see that women can be successful blacksmiths. You will not get any notification or quest objective for this, the mod just makes you guess that you need to do it. It seems like you should be able to bring any of the three female blacksmiths in the game. It definitely works with Adrienne Avenicci, I have not confirmed the other two. A female blacksmith will agree to come with you if you are the Dragonborn, or if she is already your friend. If neither of these is the case, you may have to do a favor (any vanilla quest she has available) so she will be your friend. Possible blacksmiths with friendship quests available: Adrienne Avenicci in Whiterun. This will probably be quickest. If she will not come with you, ask if she needs any help, get her quest "Greatsword for a Great Man" to deliver a sword to Balgruuf, do that, and she should now agree. Gharol in Dushnikh Yal. Gain friendship by doing her quest "Gharol's Message" to deliver a sword to Lash in Karthwasten. Ghorza gra-Bagol in Markarth. Gain friendship by doingher quest "Skilled Apprenticeship" to bring her a copy of a book she wants, Last Scabbard of Akatosh. Bring your chosen blacksmith to Riverwood and talk to Sigrid. The two of them will have a conversation and the blacksmith will convince Sigrid. When they're done, talk to the blacksmith again to thank her. If your perversion is high enough, you will get an option to thank her with sex, if not, she will just go home. Now talk to Dorthe again until her new conversation options end, with you saying you will help her meet Eorlund Graymane. Now talk to Alvor and persuade him to take Dorthe on a trip to see Eorlund Graymane. He will say they will set out early the next morning. You will get a "Completed: The Blacksmith and the Drunkard" quest notification but the quest is not actually completed. It will start up again when you take some actions described in the next part of this walkthrough. IMPORTANT: If you DON'T want Alvor to die, your next move should be pickpocketing Embry before Alvor leaves in the morning, and reading the note you will find in his inventory. This note is generated when Alvor says he will go to Whiterun, so Embry won't have it before that. Part 4: the plot, the affair, and rescuing Dorthe Spoiler Once you know that Alvor and Dorthe plan to travel to Whiterun, you have some more branching choices to re-start the quest. Embry will now have a note in his inventory called "Gold Received." This note is generated when Alvor says he will go to Whiterun. If you pickpocket Embry and read this note between the time Alvor says he will go and the time Alvor actually leaves, you will learn about Embry's plot and will get the quest objective to warn Alvor. If you talk to Embry after Alvor says he will go to Whiterun, it is possible he will confess his plot to you without needing to pickpocket the note. This also gives you the quest objective to warn Alvor. I am not sure what conditions are required for this to happen, but some people have reported it. If you don't read the note and Embry doesn't confess to you spontaneously, Alvor and Dorthe will leave for Whiterun at 6 a.m. the morning after Alvor tells you he will go. Once they go, wait that whole day and then look for Embry at night. If Embry is not inside the inn around midnight, he has gone to Sigrid's house and you can enter and catch them together. 5. Warn Alvor about Embry's plot If/when you get this quest objective, you have two choices: Tell Alvor about the plot before he leaves for Whiterun. This means Alvor will kill Embry, get arrested, and the quest will skip straight to part 5 of this walkthrough, to rescue Alvor. You won't get to see the affair part of the quest. If you don't warn Alvor in time, he will be killed on the way to Whiterun and Dorthe will be kidnapped. (You cannot catch up with them and prevent this. The only way to prevent it is by warning Alvor before he leaves.) In this case, the next step of the quest is to catch Sigrid and Embry having an affair. IF ALVOR AND DORTHE WENT TO WHITERUN Just wait around for a day. At some point during the day you will get a courier arriving with an inheritance letter announcing that Alvor is dead and he left you some money. However, this seems to be part of the vanilla game that is just automatically triggered by Alvor being dead, and it doesn't advance anything in the quest. Nobody else will behave any differently or know about Alvor being dead. You will not be able to trigger the rescue quest until you "officially" find out about Embry's assassination plan, either by Embry confessing to you spontaneously, or by reading the note Embry is carrying called "Gold Received," which shows that he has paid bandits to attack Alvor and Dorthe along their journey. If you didn't pickpocket Embry and read the note earlier, you can do that now, or you can wait for Embry and Sigrid to have their affair and then do it after that, or kill Embry during that event and loot it off his body, etc. Basically nothing will happen along the road to Whiterun until you read Embry's "Gold Received" note or hear about the plan from Embry himself. After this condition has been met, you will confusingly get a quest objective saying again "Warn Alvor about Embry's plot." This will happen even if you already know he is dead. Now you can go and walk from Riverwood to Whiterun along the road. When you get about halfway there, you will get a quest notification that you failed to warn Alvor, he is dead, and Dorthe has been kidnapped. If you rescue Dorthe from the bandits now and bring her back to Riverwood, she will end up back in her mother's house, the affair will not happen, and nobody will say anything more about Alvor or act like anything has happened. The quest will pretty much just fizzle out and you won't get anything else to do, and no sign that it has been completed. If you still want to do the affair part of the quest: forget about rescuing Dorthe and just go back to Riverwood and do the affair quest. You can still rescue Dorthe afterwards. CATCH EMBRY AND SIGRID HAVING AN AFFAIR For this to happen, Alvor and Dorthe must have left for Riverwood. Wait until midnight after they are gone, and enter Sigrid's house (it will be unlocked, which is a good indicator that it's the right time to go in), where you should find her and Embry having sex. Bug: If they are not having sex but just standing around, it is probably because Hadvar is still living in the house. You can fix this by going back a few steps to an earlier save and getting rid of Hadvar somehow - either move him to another location outside the house using console commands, or you will have to complete the vanilla Civil War quest "The Jagged Crown" on either the Imperial or Stormcloak side, because Hadvar moves into Sleeping Giant Inn after that quest. 6. Confront the couple and decide what to do. You need to talk to both Embry and Sigrid. If you don't talk to both of them while you're still in the house, there is a good chance that your future options just end here and you never move on to complete the quest. Some people have said it's possible for Alvor to still be alive at this stage, but I haven't been able to find that branch yet. If he is still alive in your game, these appear to be the options: If you want to blackmail Sigrid for sex, you will get an option to do this now, if you have high perversion. Choose "Cheating whore, I'll tell Alvor about this." Do whatever you like with the cheating couple, then tell Alvor afterward. He will kill Embry, then a few different paths are possible, including ones where you end up in a relationship with either Alvor or Sigrid (or the "kind" ending where Alvor and Sigrid get back together). If Alvor is dead when you catch Embry and Sigrid, these appear to be the options: If you're in a relationship with Embry, you can choose to forgive him. This means he will stay with you, blackmail Sigrid for sex, and you will both end up being Embry's fuck toys and will have a few threesome scenes. The quest will not officially complete, but hey, now you're in a relationship and also have a submissive third person involved. If you decide to kill Embry, Sigrid will help and you may have some options with her afterward. If you kill Embry and you have previously done the vanilla quest "The Lovely Letters," Sven or Faendal will show up to blackmail you for sex from now on. If you let Embry and Sigrid go without doing any of the above, nothing really happens and the quest will never complete. You still won't get any options to officially realize Alvor is dead or do the rescue quest until you read the note Embry is carrying, so either loot it off his body if you killed him, or pickpocket him after you let him go. Read the section just above, "IF ALVOR AND DORTHE WENT TO WHITERUN" for how to proceed with the rescue quest. If you follow any paths here that result in Alvor killing Embry, move on to part 5 of this walkthrough. Otherwise you're done and the quest just fizzles out. Part 5: (if Alvor kills Embry) rescuing Alvor Spoiler You won't get this far if Alvor was already dead when you caught Embry and Sigrid together. If Alvor kills Embry at any part of the quest, there will be a scene in which he decides to do the honorable thing, turns himself in to the guards, and goes off to prison in Whiterun. Talk to Sigrid and you should have two options: "(Persuade) You heard Alvor. I'm supposed to take care of you and Dorthe now." She may accept or reject this offer. If she accepts, she'll give you a key and you will move in with her. Now you're in a relationship with Sigrid and you will just abandon Alvor to his fate. You won't get any quest completion update. "We need to get Alvor released! Let's go to Whiterun!" If you go to Whiterun with Sigrid, talk to any guard there, and he will end up telling you to talk to the guard captain. Talk to the captain, who is either Commander Caius or Captain Sinmir depending on which Civil War faction rules Whiterun. He will not want to release Alvor unless you have something really good to exchange for Alvor's freedom. If you are a virgin, you can offer your virginity. You may get an option to bribe him with a very large amount of money. Otherwise, he will notice Sigrid and start a conversation that will end in his obvious interest in her. Then you can talk to Sigrid and persuade her to use her body to win Alvor's release. If you go with the Sigrid/Guard Captain sex option, you won't get a quest update, just go to Dragonsreach dungeons now, and you will find Alvor free there. Talk to him and tell him it's time to go home. Now you have a few options. If you're being nice, just fast travel with him back to Riverwood and the quest will complete. Sigrid will make her own way back there after a few days. Or take him to the Whiterun guard barracks (behind the Bannered Mare) where you will find every guard in Whiterun standing around naked and Sigrid fucking the whole lot of them. Alvor will ask what's going on, and you can choose two possible responses: "(Evil/Perverted) I wanted to show you the truth. Your wife is a whore." He will leave her, and you can offer to be with him instead. He will agree and give you the key to his house. Travel back to Riverwood and the quest completes. You are now in a relationship with Alvor. "She sacrificed her body for your freedom." This is the "kind" ending for Alvor and Sigrid to end up back together. He will continue to love Sigrid but will leave the barracks so he doesn't have to watch. Travel back to Riverwood and the quest completes. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Forbidden Love: Quick Tips Scroll further down for the full quest walkthrough. This section just summarizes how to get whichever outcomes you're interested in. If you want to court Olfina Spoiler At the beginning, directly after the Jon/Olfina sex scene behind the stables, talk to Jon and convince him to join the Bards College. He will leave immediately. Wait three days, then talk to Olfina about visiting Jon. There are various paths from here, involving Mikael or not; whichever choices you make for those, make sure you do NOT blackmail Olfina and you do NOT ambush her on the way to Solitude. After you get to the part of the quest where she leaves for Solitude, wait 10 days/240 hours of game time. After this, she will return to Whiterun. Now you can talk to her again and ask about Jon. She will show you a letter from him. Read the letter, and now you should have a new dialogue option "Olfina, if you were mine, I'd treat you better." If you want Mikael for casual sex Spoiler At the beginning, directly after the Jon/Olfina sex scene behind the stables, talk to Jon and convince him to join the Bards College. He will leave immediately. Wait three days, then talk to Mikael about whether he is having any more luck seducing Olfina now that Jon is gone, and offer yourself instead. After this, you should be able to proposition him for casual sex any time. It won't affect any other outcomes of the quest. If you want to blackmail Olfina for sex Spoiler At the beginning, directly after the Jon/Olfina sex scene behind the stables, talk to Jon and convince him to join the Bards College. He will leave immediately. Wait three days, then talk to Mikael about whether he is having any more luck seducing Olfina now that Jon is gone. Follow Mikael's quest to help him drug and rape Olfina, then talk to Olfina afterward to blackmail her. Note that if you do this, the quest ends there. If you want to blackmail Illdi for sex Spoiler If you are in the Dark Brotherhood and get a contract to kill Olfina, don't take it. Whether or not you are in the Dark Brotherhood, wait until the part of the quest where Olfina is dead. Pickpocket Illdi and you will find evidence that she was the killer. You should be able to blackmail her for sex after this. I believe it won't change any other outcomes of the quest but haven't confirmed this yet. If you want to rape Olfina Spoiler There are two ways you can do this, but you can't do them both. Follow the "Evil" dialogue options described in Part 1 of the full walkthrough below. You can potentially rape Olfina as many times as you like during that scene, and also force her to have sex with a horse if you have bestiality turned on. However, be aware that raping Olfina during this scene will cut off a lot of other possible branches later in the quest. Or, DON'T pick the "Evil" dialogue options and instead talk to Jon about the Bards' College, as described in Part 1 of the full walkthrough below. Then, after Jon goes to Solitude, talk to Mikael. Go through with Mikael's evil schemes to first drug and rape Olfina in Whiterun, then later to ambush and rape her on the way to Solitude. If you want Jon and Olfina to live happily ever after Spoiler This is not possible, as far as I can tell. *sad trombone noise* If you want Jon and Illdi to live happily ever after Spoiler When you get to the part of the quest where Olfina is dead, either persuade Jon not to take revenge, or go with him on his revenge quest and help him escape afterward. Then follow Part 4 of this walkthrough, "To Heal a Heart." Walkthrough: Forbidden Love See also the Quick Tips section directly above for details on how to bang whichever NPCs you're interested in, or get whichever possible ending you want. NPCs you can potentially fuck in this quest: Olfina, Mikael, Illdi. Possibly also Jon, but I haven't confirmed that yet. NPCs you can potentially watch having sex in this quest: Olfina/Jon, Olfina/Mikael, Ysolda/Mikael (regardless of what happens in the quest or even if you start the quest at all, the mod sets these as casual lovers who can be watched at random times), Illdi/Jon. NPCs you can potentially court: Olfina. Part 1: getting started Spoiler Prerequisites: None. If you are in the Dark Brotherhood, you get one extra non-sex-related thing to do during this quest, but it is optional and won't change anything important. NPCs required: Jon Battle-Born, Olfina Gray-Mane, Mikael, Illdi, Olfrid Battle-Born, Vignar Gray-Mane, Eorlund Gray-Mane. Potentially required by some branches: Nazir, and maybe Arcadia. If any of these are dead in the vanilla game, the quest will get stuck at the stage just before the one where they are needed. Try reloading an earlier-stage save, resurrect that person using the console, and you should be able to proceed. To start: Be between the Battle-Born and Gray-Mane houses in Whiterun after midnight. You will see Olfina Gray-Mane leaving her house, and will get a quest objective to investigate where she is going. If you don't do it right away, it doesn't matter - pick it up another day by waiting behind the Whiterun Stables until about 1 or 2 a.m. Follow Olfina. She goes to meets Jon Battle-Born behind the Whiterun Stables at about 1 or 2 a.m. Once you see the couple, get close enough to them to start the scene. You do not have to be hidden. They will have a conversation and a sex scene. Then they will briefly speak again, notice you, and confront you. Confront the couple. Jon will draw his sword and ask if you were spying on them. You have multiple options now. The only one that closes off future quest branches for you is if you fight Jon - this will shorten the quest a lot and restrict the number of possible endings. "Sorry, it was an accident. I didn't mean to interrupt." He will accept the apology and tell you to leave them alone. The couple will walk away. "(Kind) I could help convince your parents." This option only appears if you have low Sadism. Jon will thank you, but tell you not to say anything to them. The couple will walk away. "(Perverted) I'm quite impressed by your love-making skill." This option only appears if you have high Perversion and are interested in men. Jon will angrily reject you. The couple will walk away. "(Evil) Secret lovers? How about me telling your parents all about it?" This option only appears if you have high Sadism, and leads to three additional outcomes to the scene: If you pick the Evil option, Jon will reply "Are you trying to blackmail us? Speak plainly. What do you want?" and you now have these options: "200 gold and I'll keep my mouth shut." He will give you the money. The couple will walk away. "(Perverted) How about you showing me a good time, handsome?" This option only appears if you have high Perversion, very high Sadism (75 should do it), and are interested in men. Jon will angrily reject you and give you 300 gold to go away. The couple will walk away. "(Perverted) I want my turn with your pretty friend over there." This option only appears if you have high Perversion, very high Sadism (75 should do it), and high Perversion, are interested in women, and have rape content enabled. Jon and Olfina will both attack you. Fight them until they are both down. You will not be able to kill them. Once they're both down, talk to Olfina and you will get options to rape her, force her to have sex with the nearby horse (if you have bestiality turned on), or say you're done. You can do the first two as many times as you want. After you say you're done, both Olfina and Jon will recover and attack you again. Ignore them, sheathe weapons and just run back into Whiterun. Jon and Olfina will chase you and the guards will deal with them. Next time you see Jon and Olfina, they will no longer attack you, but they will refuse to talk to you because of what you did. Decide what to do with what you discovered. There are two branches that start here. You can't do both. If you talk to Jon now about the Bards College, he will end up going to Solitude alone (starts Part 2a of this walkthrough). This option is only available if you did not fight him. Taking this route allows you to do the additional evil quests in which Mikael rapes Olfina, and gives you a lot more potential endings to the main quest. If you tell either Olfrid Battle-Born or Idolaf Battle-Born about the secret affair, Jon and Olfina will end up escaping to Solitude together (starts Part 2b of this walkthrough). This dramatically shortens the quest and you can only get the ending where Olfina dies. Part 2a: if Jon goes to Solitude alone Spoiler This is only available if you did not fight Jon and rape Olfina in the previous stage. Talk to Jon about the Bards College, and convince him to go. He will set out right away, leaving Olfina in Whiterun. You will no longer be able to tell Olfrid Battle-Born about the secret affair, or ask any other NPCs in Whiterun about it. Now you need to wait three days (72 hours) of game time before any new options will appear. Then Olfina and Mikael will both have new dialogue options. If you don't want to do the evil path that results in Mikael raping Olfina, don't bother talking to Mikael. If you want to do the evil path, talk to Mikael, but when it's over you should NOT blackmail Olfina unless you want the quest to end here, otherwise you won't be able to talk to her again to continue the quest and send her off to Solitude. EVIL PATH: HELP MIKAEL Three days after Jon has left for Solitude, talk to Mikael: "Has Olfina been more receptive now that Jon's gone?" He will say no, she keeps resisting all his advances. You have two options to reply: "I could convince her to have a drink with you." "Leave her alone. No means no." The second option doesn't go anywhere, so you can still repeat the conversation and say you'll convince her. Convince Olfina to give Mikael a chance. "(Persuade) You should at least have a drink with Mikael." She will agree, and their first drink scene will play immediately. Mikael annoys her and she ends the conversation with him. BUG: They will try to sit at the table with two chairs on the side of the fireplace that's closer to the kitchen. If some other NPC is already sitting in one of these chairs, Olfina and Mikael will get frozen partway through their scene. Fix this (either before or during the scene) by targeting the unwanted NPC and using console commands to move him over to you. As soon as the chair is free, Olfina and Mikael will both be able to sit down and the scene will continue. Talk to Mikael. "That didn't go too well." He will come up with the idea of drugging Olfina with a love potion, and you reply "(Evil) I can steal Arcadia's new potion for you." Steal Arcadia's love potion. It is behind the counter in her shop, right where she stands. Either steal it while she's there, if you can, or wait until night and pick the backdoor lock to get it while she's asleep. Return to Mikael. "Here's the potion you wanted." A new drink scene with Olfina will play. See the bug fix mentioned above, if that happens again. Olfina will get drunk and follow Mikael upstairs to his room, where she acts out a drunk masturbation scene and then a sex scene with Mikael. Afterward she is angry and upset, and he will mock her and then blackmail her for continued sex so he won't write a letter to tell Jon. She will still be walking like a drunk for some time afterward but it should go away in about a day. Talk to Mikael again for your reward. He will give you 500 and the quest will complete. If you talk to Olfina now, you have a dialogue option to blackmail her for sex too. However, if you blackmail her, the quest is over. If you want to continue the quest, ignore the blackmail option and ask her about Jon instead. She will still be friendly with you, as she is unaware that you helped Mikael. This puts you back onto the regular path and you can continue the quest as described below. REGULAR PATH: HELP OLFINA Talk to Olfina. "How has life been without Jon around here?" She will say she wants to visit him in Solitude, but her father won't let her go. Offer to convince her father. Convince Eorlund Gray-Mane to let Olfina visit Solitude. This is just a simple persuade. If you can't convince him, give a coin to a beggar or otherwise boost your speech until you can. Return to Olfina. "I convinced your father to let you visit Solitude." She will give you 200 septims as a reward and you will get a notification that the quest is completed. I believe this is where you can start another evil branch of the quest, by talking to Mikael and arranging to ambush Olfina on her way to Solitude. However, I haven't been able to get that branch to start yet. Once I do I'll add it into the walkthrough. Olfina will spend 10 days (240 hours) in Solitude, then reappear in Whiterun. Now when you talk to her, you will have a new option to ask her "Have you heard from Jon recently?" She will say she doesn't want to talk about it. "(Persuade) Come on, you can tell me." On a successful persuasion, she gives you a note from Jon, saying he is breaking up with her. Read the note in your inventory and the quest will restart. Talk to Olfina and decide what to do. Say "I read Jon's letter." You will now have three options: "Olfina, if you were mine, I would treat you better." Courting/relationship option. You will get a key to the Grey-Mane house, Olfina will have sex with you, and she will give you regular gifts of Sky-forge Steel items. Quest ends. "(Perverted) You're still young. Have some fun!" This option only appears if you have high Perversion. Choosing this results in her deciding to get together with Mikael. She won't talk to you again after this. Quest ends. "Don't give up. Why don't you move to Solitude?" Be aware that choosing this option will eventually result in Olfina's death. When you take this option, Olfina leaves for Solitude to win Jon back. The quest will end. It will restart later as described in the next step. If you convinced Olfina to move to Solitude, wait 3 days/72 hours of game time. Now, find Olfrid Battle-Born and Vignar Gray-Mane in Whiterun and they should do an angry scene. For me it started in the Whiterun marketplace, but I'm not sure if this is always the case. Olfrid has heard that Jon and Olfina are living together in Solitude. The two men argue, ending with Olfrid threatening that he has ways to do something about it. If you are in the Dark Brotherhood, talk to Nazir now for a contract. He will give you Olfrid's contract to kill Olfina. You can choose to kill her or not - it won't change the outcome. If you don't kill her, somebody else will. Then continue with Part 3 of this walkthrough. If you don't kill Olfina yourself, enter The Winking Skeever in Solitude about 15 days after witnessing Olfrid/Vignar's argument. Olfina will be found dead there. Then continue with Part 3 of this walkthrough. (If you visit Jon and Olfina in The Winking Skeever before the 15 days are up, you will be able to watch them having sex.) BUG: Jon will still have his vanilla Whiterun dialogue even after he moves to Solitude. Part 2b: if you reveal Jon and Olfina's secret Spoiler Tell either Olfrid Battle-Born or Idolaf Battle-Born about the romance. It's better to tell Olfrid, because he pays you for the information. If you tell Idolaf, he just says he will tell his father, and then you get the same scene as if you had told Olfrid directly. Olfrid can be found walking around Whiterun in the late afternoon, or at the Bannered Mare in the evening. Say "We need to talk about Jon." Then continue with "(Evil) Your son is having an illicit affair with Olfina Gray-Mane." He will give you 200 septims as a reward for the information. Then he will summon Jon, and they will do an argument scene which ends in Jon running away. Follow Jon. He will run to Olfina and they will have a conversation, ending in their decision to run away to Solitude together immediately. They will both run for the city gates and you will get a quest completion notification: "Jon and Olfina have escaped to Solitude together." Now you need to wait 10 days (240 hours) in the game, then go visit Jon and Olfina at the Winking Skeever in Solitude. If you visit them there before 10 days are up, you will be able to watch them having sex, but they won't have any new dialogue and nothing else will happen. BUG: Jon will still have his vanilla Whiterun dialogue even after he moves to Solitude. Part 3: if Olfina is dead Spoiler A scene between Jon and Illdi will play when Jon discovers Olfina's body. He has guessed that his father is responsible. He swears to kill his father, even if he dies in the attempt. If you are not in the Dark Brotherhood/did not kill Olfina, pickpocketing Illdi after Olfina's death will reveal evidence that Illdi was the assassin. You should then be able to blackmail Illdi for sex, without changing anything for the rest of the quest (I haven't confirmed this yet). Talk to Jon "Jon, I'm sorry for your loss." He says you can't convince him not to take revenge. Now you will get two options: "(Persuade) You must not throw your life away." You need very high speech for this one to work. If he agrees, he will stay in Solitude, and the new quest "To Heal a Heart" begins. Go to Part 4 of this walkthrough. "I'll follow you to Whiterun. You have a better chance of escaping with me." He will leave for Whiterun immediately. Go to Whiterun and watch him confront and fight Olfrid in the marketplace. Don't try and help. This is quite a long scene and the fight can go on for a considerable amount of time, depending on how long it takes Olfrid to knock Jon down. Once Jon is down, Olfrid feels bad about it and tries to smooth things over. Jon gets up, kills Olfrid, and runs to Whiterun gate to escape. All the guards will swarm him - this is where you can choose to help by attacking the guards so Jon can escape. If you fail, or if you choose not to help, Jon is killed by the guards and the quest ends. BUG: After the first part of the fight scene, Olfrid may walk away and go back to his normal routine after Jon is knocked down. Jon will just stay on the ground. If this happens, kick-start the scene by hitting Jon yourself, wait for a guard to arrest you, pay your fine, and then Olfrid should reappear and the scene between him and Jon will continue where it left off. Escape tips: Just hit the guards enough to distract them from hitting Jon. Once he's through the gate, sheathe your weapons and just run after him. The guards will chase you. Keep going until you and Jon reach the point on the road (just before the Western Watchtower) where you will get a notification that you have successfully escaped. If the guards catch up now, as long as your weapons are sheathed you can just talk to them and pay them off, then go to Solitude with Jon. The quest will end, and the new quest "To Heal a Heart" begins - go to Part 4 of this walkthrough. Part 4: To Heal a Heart Spoiler This is a simple quest that is mostly just wait time, for the sake of tying up loose ends, if you want Jon to have a happy ending. When you and Jon arrive back in Solitude, Illdi will be waiting to welcome him back. Talk to Illdi about Jon "You seem to care about Jon an awful lot." She will say he is like a brother to her. "(Persuade) Is it really just fraternal love?" She admits she has feelings for him, but it's too soon for him to be over Olfina. Now you have two options: "(Perverted) Let Jon mourn his lover. We can have some fun instead." This option only appears if you have high Perversion. I believe she will always reject this offer. "I can talk to him about it." Convince Jon to move on with his life "(Persuade) You should move on with your life and give Illdi a chance." This is a very hard speech check which will get easier over the course of 10 days/240 hours of game time. At most, waiting 10 days/240 hours and asking again will result in him agreeing to give her a chance. BUG: Even after he agrees, he will still have his previous dialogue options, and will still say it hasn't been long enough if you ask him again. After he agrees, now you need to wait ANOTHER 10 days/240 hours, then talk to Illdi. She will say she has good news. "What's the good news?" She tells you they are getting married, and invites you to the wedding. Attend the wedding Go to the Temple of Mara in Riften any time. Their wedding will start as soon as you enter. Watch them get married and the quest will end. After this, you should be able to watch Illdi and Jon having sex any night in Solitude. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Walkthrough: Behind Bars NPCs you can potentially fuck in this quest: Haelga, Svana, Svidi, Ingun, Tythis Oren. NPCs you can potentially watch having sex in this quest: Haegla/various, Sibbi/Svana, Sibbi/Haelga, Ingun/various (including bestiality), Svana/Madesi, Vekel/Tonilia, Delvin/Vex, Vipir/Sapphire. NPCs you can potentially court as a spouse: Svana, Ingun. General walkthrough: Spoiler Prerequisites: None. If you are a member of the Thieves' Guild, it will save some time, and will also give you one extra side quest (the one for Sapphire). Possible conflicts: If you have already done the vanilla quest "The Lover's Requital" to find Sibbi Black-Briar's former lover Svidi, you might not be able to progress past about the mid point of this quest (not confirmed yet). If you have already done the vanilla quest "Caught Red Handed" to get Marks of Dibella from Haelga's lovers, you might not get an option near the beginning to help Haelga, and some of Svana's dialogue seems to be different. This shouldn't affect the main quest, it just blocks off a couple of early side quests. To start: Enter Haelga’s Bunkhouse in Riften. As soon as you enter, you will witness a conversation between Haelga and her niece/worker Svana. 1. Listen to Svana's conversation with Haelga. Svana is disgusted by Haelga's active sex life as a Dibella worshipper. Svana is saving her own virginity for someone special; she is in love with Sibbi Black-Briar. Haelga thinks Svana is being naive and tells her Sibbi only wants sex, not marriage. Note: A few times when I played it through, Madesi appears in the middle of this scene and starts a different conversation with you. I don't think this is supposed to happen at the same time as the opening scene. If it happens, go ahead and talk to Madesi. It is a very short conversation and he will just reveal that he has a crush on Svana. You need this information for later, and if you tab out of it now, you might not be able to talk to him about the same topic again. When he's done telling you, the main scene will still be going on and you won't have missed anything important. I haven't explored all the Haelga routes yet so I will add those into the walkthrough later. 2. Talk to Svana. Svana may ask you to help her embarrass Haelga by bringing Haelga's lovers to the bunkhouse together, so they will know she has multiple lovers. Possible conflict: I wasn't getting this option, and Svana's dialogue indicated the mod thought it had already been tried and failed. I think this is a conflict with the vanilla quest "Caught Red Handed." Still trying to confirm that. Svana will also tell you she has trouble working at the bunkhouse because one of the customers, Tythis Oren, is harassing her. Tell her "I can talk Tythis into leaving you alone." 3. Talk to Tythis about Svana. Bug: after you get this quest objective, every other NPC you talk to will have Tythis's dialogue. This doesn't really break anything, it's just weird and annoying. Whether you talk to Tythis himself, or somebody else who is bugged to temporarily be Tythis, it should work the same. Luckily, once you finish this stage of the quest, the bug doesn't last. It looks like a fairly simple bug where a particular piece of dialogue wasn't correctly assigned to just Tythis but to every NPC. Look at it as a chance to bang anybody else in Riften you might fancy (you can pretend it's some weird roleplay they wanted to do...) Tell him "You must stop forcing yourself on Svana." He will claim she is just playing hard to get, and everyone knows she has a thing for dark elves. You have two possible responses: "(Persuade) No, I'm not sure I know that." "(Perverted) Why bother with her? I'm always up for some fun." (leads to one-time sex with Tythis, or whoever is bugged to be him.) Both these paths will end with him saying he will stop bothering Svana. 4. Speak to Svana again. "Tythis won't bother you anymore." She will thank you and give you Daedric Boots as a reward. Ask her "Is there anything else I could do for you?" She will ask you to deliver a love poem to Sibbi in jail. Read it if you want to, it's terrible. 5. Deliver Svana's poem to Sibbi. He is in Mistveil Keep dungeon in Riften. His cell door will be open and he is living in the luxury you would expect for a crime boss's son. Tell him "I have a special poem for you from Svana." He will read it (it stays in your inventory) and then mock how bad the poem is and how stupid Svana is for thinking he will marry her. Kind response: "(Kind) You're deceiving the innocent girl! I will show her your true nature." I haven't found all the other possible responses yet. You can also click through all Sibbi's vanilla dialogue options to find out about why he is in jail. This will lead to him talking about how he cheated on his ex, Svidi, then killed her brother. He wants to find Svidi to kill her too. This will give you a vanilla quest to find Svidi, "The Lover's Requital." You will get another quest to find Svidi later, from Svana. If you have both quests, it means when you eventually do find Svidi, you can choose to go either way with how you complete it (but if you return to Sibbi to tell him where she is, the Behind Bars quest is probably over -- I still need to confirm this). 6. Tell Svana about Sibbi. There are two paths here, and only one of them is obvious. One leads to Svana banging Sibbi and then getting abandoned by him. The other leads to Haelga banging Sibbi, and Svana banging Madesi. Both of them progress the same way to the next part of the main quest. Path 1: Do what the quest objective says, and talk to Svana. She will ask how he reacted to the poem. You can lie and say he loved it, or be kind and try to convince her Sibbi is not the right man for her. Both have the same result. She will ask you to take her to visit Sibbi in jail. Skip to the next piece of this walkthrough. Path 2: Talk to Haelga about Sibbi instead, before talking to Svana. You may be able to convince Haelga to go to the jail with you, and have sex with Sibbi herself. Leave her there and go back to the bunkhouse, and now talk to Svana and follow Path 1 above. 7. Lead Svana to Sibbi in jail. If you arranged for Haelga to have sex with Sibbi in the previous stage, this means Svana will catch them having sex. If you didn't do that, Svana and Sibbi will have a romantic conversation which leads to them having sex. Afterwards, Sibbi will mock Svana and say he isn't interested in marrying her. After the sex and the various breakup conversations have finished, talk to Svana again. Options: "(Kind) We can't always make the right decision. Don't dwell on a past mistake." "(Perverted) Love is a myth. You're still young. Have some fun!" You may also get the option to tell her to give Madesi a chance instead (if you already talked to Madesi about Svana) and this will lead to her being found banging Madesi every night in Beggar's Row. If Madesi wasn't an option, she will just thank you. Regardless of options, this stage should always end with Svana asking you to find and protect Sibbi's ex, Svidi, so he can't hurt more women. 8. Find the bard in Ivarstead. Go to Ivarstead and find Svidi, who is a bard there and disguised with the name Lynly Star-Sung. 9. Talk to Svidi. Get her to admit who she really is, and listen to her side of the story. If you took both Sibbi's and Svana's quests to find her, you'll want to follow Svana's instructions to protect her, because if you follow Sibbi's instructions to inform on her, you'll probably be done with this quest (but I still need to confirm what happens if you do that). 10. Find a safe hiding place for Svidi. You will not get any information about where to take her. The answer is the Ragged Flagon, in the Ratway in Riften. If you are already in the Thieves Guild, this will be simple. If you are not in the Thieves Guild, and have not already navigated the Ratway, cleared it of enemies, and found the shortcut to the Ragged Flagon, all this might be difficult to do while also protecting Svidi. If necessary, go back to an earlier save before you have Svidi following you. Talk to Brynjolf in the Riften marketplace to start your Thieves Guild membership quest (it won't matter whether you pass or fail this quest) and Brynjolf will then tell you to find him in the Ragged Flagon. Once you have spoken to Brynjolf in the Ragged Flagon, you're ready to go - there is no need to do any more of his quests to become a full member of the guild, if you don't want to join. Once you get Svidi to the Ragged Flagon, talk to either Brynjolf or Mercer Frey there about letting her stay. If you talk to Mercer, you still need to talk to Brynjolf afterward - he's the one who will complete this stage of the quest so Svidi stops following you and takes up residence in the Ragged Flagon instead. Brynjolf will tell you Svidi can't stay there forever, so you will need to get more Thieves Guild members on your side to let her stay permanently, or get Maven Black-Briar to agree to protect Svidi. There are four possible side quests here: three to get the agreement of the Thieves Guild, and/or one to get Maven's agreement. If you are already the Guildmaster of the Thieves Guild, the other members will all agree right away. If you would rather get more action than this, don't talk to Brynjolf again until you have done Maven's quest too. If you are not Guildmaster, but are a guild member, you will get three quests to help three different Thieves Guild couples. Once you complete these quests, you can watch each of these couples having sex whenever you visit them again. If you are not in the Thieves Guild at all, you will need to do Maven's quest, but you can also do two of the Thieves Guild side quests if you want to (the one for Sapphire will not be available). Maven's side quest takes longer, but has the most sex in it. You get to watch Ingun Black-Briar achieve her noble goal of banging a member of every race in Skyrim for science (includes two animals, if you have the bestiality option turned on). Side quest walkthroughs are below. However many side quests you do, make sure you don't talk to Brynjolf about Svidi again until you have completed all the ones you wanted to do. Then go talk to Brynjolf to complete the whole quest. Behind Bars side quests: Thieves Guild path Two of these can be done whether or not you are a member of the Thieves Guild; start those by talking to Delvin Mallory and Vekel the Man. The third quest, which starts by talking to Sapphire, seems to only be possible if you are a member of the Thieves Guild, but there might be a way around that which I haven't discovered. You can do these quests in any order. These quests all become available after Brynjolf tells you to get support from more guild members to protect Svidi. I believe none of them will be available if you are Guildmaster, because then you automatically have support from the guild members. Delvin Mallory's quest Spoiler Talk to Delvin Mallory in the Ragged Flagon. "We need to keep Svidi safe from Sibbi." He will not be interested in helping. Then you might get an option to ask "What can I do to change your mind about Svidi?" If you don't see this option, run back up to the marketplace, give a coin to a beggar to boost your speech, come back and talk to him again. He will respond "Sorry, I'm busy. Need to go somewhere." Then he will suddenly run away. 1. Follow Delvin. If you lose track of him in the Ratway, his destination is the lake shore behind the Riften Stables, so just go there and you'll find him. He will be crouched in a sneak position, spying on Vex bathing naked in the lake. 2. Confront Delvin. "Is this why you call yourself master of sneaking?" He will respond, "Keep quiet! If Vex catches me here again, she'll cut my balls off." Convince him that Vex would probably prefer a more assertive man, not one who sneaks around to spy on her. He will agree to try this new approach. His idea of being more assertive is stripping naked and approaching Vex to promise her a good hard pounding. This turns out to work well, and they have sex (an amusing bug: if Vex is already in the lake, they'll be doing it at the bottom of the lake.) 3. Talk to Delvin again. "Looks like you finally got what you want from Vex." He will thank you, and say that he and Vex will support you in allowing Svidi to stay. After this, you should be able to watch Delvin and Vex banging at various times. Vekel the Man's quest Spoiler Talk to Vekel the Man in the Ragged Flagon. "We need to keep Svidi safe from Sibbi." He will not be interested in helping. Eventually he might say "No offence, but I have more important things on my mind" and tell you he is worried about his girlfriend Tonilia might be cheating on him with Brynjolf. If you don't get this response from him, run back up to the marketplace, give a coin to a beggar to boost your speech, come back and talk to him again. Then you can reply "I can investigate the rumor for you." 1. Investigate the rumored affair between Brynjolf and Tonilia. Talk to Brynjolf and Tonilia in any order. They both will have two dialogue options available to talk about it. If you don't get any useful info that results in a new quest objective, give a coin to a beggar and try again. Eventually you will find out that the rumor is their friendly plan to try and get Vekel to propose to Tonilia. 2. Tell Vekel the truth. He is relieved, but his problem is that he wants to propose but doesn't know how. He has tried talking to Maramal at the Temple of Mara but got bored with listening to Maramal's advice. 3. Give Vekel an Amulet of Mara. Go to the Temple of Mara in Riften and talk to Maramal. Go through all his vanilla dialogue options to learn about how marriage works, until he explains about the amulet and gives you the option to buy one (200 septims). Buy it and take it back to Vekel. He will put it on, do a proposal scene to Tonilia, and then they and all the other Thieves Guild members will run off to the temple immediately for the wedding. Bug: One person has said that the wedding started as soon as they bought the amulet in the temple. If this happens, I think you should still be able to complete the quest, as long as you talk to Vekel after it's all done. 4. Attend the wedding. Run off to the temple with all the other Thieves Guild members and watch Vekel and Tonilia get married. Bug: Either Vekel or Tonilia might get stuck somewhere along the way, and not turn up for their own wedding. I think as long as one of them is there, it'll work anyway. The wedding will proceed as if they are both there. If it doesn't, and there's a bunch of NPCs in the temple but you're still not seeing any wedding actions or dialogue happening, you could try bringing the missing Vekel and/or Tonilia using console commands. 5. Talk to Vekel again. If Vekel didn't manage to attend his own bugged wedding, he'll still be in the Ragged Flagon or somewhere along the way. It shouldn't matter where he is. Just go find him and talk to him. He will thank you, and say that he and Tonilia will support you in allowing Svidi to stay. After this, you should be able to watch Vekel and Tonilia banging just about any time you enter the Ragged Flagon. Sapphire's quest (if you are a Thieves Guild member) Spoiler I believe this is only possible if you are a member of the Thieves Guild. Sapphire is located in or outside the Bee & Barb Inn in Riften when you first meet her; if you complete the vanilla quest "Stabilized" to resolve the debt between her and Shadr, she immediately moves to the Thieves Guild Cistern room, which you can only access by being a member. You also need to talk to Vipir the Fleet, who is only found in the Cistern. The quest starts when you can ask Sapphire "So, will you tell me your real name?" and then have her continue the conversation long enough that you get the new option "Something had to make you this angry." If you get this far, she will tell you her story, until you get the quest objective to ask about her love life. I think the level of friendship needed to get these options is to have done "Stabilized" and also be a Thieves Guild member. I did not get the options just from doing "Stabilized" on its own. 1. Ask Sapphire about her current love life. "You must attract a lot of male attention." She does, but says the only one she is interested in is Vipir the Fleet. Continue the conversation until you get the quest objective to talk to Vipir. 2. Talk to Vipir. He is in the Cistern. Ask him "You're Sapphire's admirer?" and then continue the conversation as far as it will go. This will end with him offering to race you to the Riften Fishery. He will run off immediately. Run after him and make your own way to the Fishery. It doesn't matter whether or not you win the race; he will say he's impressed, and is now willing to talk more. "Will you listen to my advice about Sapphire now?" He will listen. "She had traumatic experiences with sex. You should treat her with care instead." He realizes you are right, and asks for ideas about gifts to give her. "I think her name might be a clue." He agrees, and asks for your help to bring Sapphire a gift of sapphires. 3. Collect 5 sapphires for Vipir by pickpocketing the wealthy of Riften. Get 5 sapphires (just ordinary ones, not Flawless). Although Vipir's instructions are to pickpocket them, really he won't care how you get them. All the wealthy people in Riften will now be carrying one for you to pickpocket. Even with low pickpocket skill, it is fairly easy to get them from Wylandriah (wait until she is in her room in Mistveil Keep with the door closed so nobody else sees), Nura Snow-Shod (while she is praying at the statue near the Cistern graveyard entrance), and Hemming Black-Briar (go into Black-Briar Manor during the day while he is alone in there). If you can't pickpocket enough sapphires, you can just buy them or get them somewhere else in the world in all the normal ways. 4. Return to Vipir. "I got you the 5 sapphires." 5. Follow Vipir. He will run off and do a rather sweet romantic scene with Sapphire. 6. Talk to Vipir again. "You see, it's not so bad being sweet and gentle for a change." He will thank you, and say that he and Sapphire will support you in allowing Svidi to stay. Behind Bars side quests: Maven Black-Briar path (Ingun's Ambition) This quest becomes available after Brynjolf tells you to get Maven to agree to protect Svidi. You can either do this instead of the three Thieves Guild side quests, or in addition to them (if so, make sure you talk to Maven and get the quest from her BEFORE you finish all of the Thieves Guild quests and report back to Brynjolf). 1. Talk to Maven "Please show mercy for Svidi and stop Sibbi from continuing to hunt her down." She won't agree. "Is there nothing I can do to change your mind?" It turns out she does want something. She hoped Ingun Black-Briar would work in the Black-Briar family business, but Ingun is only interested in studying alchemy. "You want me to speak to her?" Maven agrees that she will protect Svidi if you can convince Ingun to give up her alchemy studies and come to work in the family business. BEFORE YOU TALK TO INGUN Ingun's quest will involve her following you for probably quite a long time, because you will be escorting her around Skyrim on her mission to fuck a member of every race. This means you need to get an NPC of each race to be your friend first, so they will agree to fuck Ingun when you ask them to. Decide whether you want to gain all these friendships first and then take Ingun around just for the fucking, or if you want her to follow you the whole time, including while you do whatever quests are needed to gain friendship. You need one of each race: Altmer Bosmer Dunmer Orc Imperial Redguard Nord Breton Khajiit Argonian They can be anybody, male or female. With some of the less common races, it may be difficult to find an NPC of your preferred gender and you'll have to settle for what you can get. Ingun will be happy to fuck them regardless. If you have bestiality switched on, a dog and a horse are added to the list. These are easy, and have no friendship/ownership requirements. All you have to do is get Ingun near any dog or horse you find in the world. Luckily, fucking a horse does not count as stealing it, so you don't have to worry about that. Ways you can become friendly with NPCs of a suitable race: If you're in a faction with somebody suitable, eg Thieves or Companions or Dark Brotherhood. Beggars: give them a coin, then make your request. This way you can get a Breton (Degaine in Markarth), Nord (Sniff in Riften), Imperial (Edda in Riften), Redguard (Brenuin in Whiterun), and various others. Tavern drunks: buy them a drink, then make your request. Mercenaries: hire them, then make your request while they're in your service. This gets expensive, but you can bag an Imperial (Marcurio in Riften), Dunmer (Jenassa in Whiterun), and Nords just about everywhere else. Find one who has a favor quest available. A few examples are Faendal in Riverwood (Bosmer), Moth gro-Bagol in Markarth (Orc), Madesi or Talen-Jei in Riften (Argonian), Taarie in Solitude (Altmer). This isn't a full list, just a few ideas in case you're stuck. Khajiit are possibly the most difficult, since they randomly travel and are hard to find on purpose. Luckily, vinfamy recognized this and stuck a quest marker on a male Khajiit, Kharjo, who has a favor quest available. His marker should show up on your map once you have the list of races in your quest objectives. Do his quest to retrieve an amulet from bandits, find him again using the quest marker, and then he will be happy to help. There is also J'Zargo at the College of Winterhold if you are a mage and have done his friendship quest to test spells. Again, these are just suggestions. They can be anybody. If you really want to find exactly the right NPC for your tastes, just look up all the NPCs of that race and see which ones have quests available. Once you have made friends with everybody necessary (or if you decide to just take Ingun with you for the whole thing), go talk to her to get started. 2. Convince Ingun to join her family business. You can usually find Ingun at Elgrim's alchemist shop in Riften (opposite Haelga's Bunkhouse and one level down, on the canal). She has some vanilla quests available, to fetch alchemy ingredients, but you don't need to do any of these as a requirement. "You should listen to Maven and pay more attention to the family business." She will disagree. "(Persuade) Come on, you can't say no to such a massive fortune." She thinks it is ungrateful to leave her alchemy teacher Elgrim, when he has taught her so much. "There must be something you can do to repay him." She says there is an experiment she has wanted to do for a long time, and if she can do it, Elgrim would be happy to have this research. "What's this unconventional experiment?" She wants to observe the effects of sex on every race in Tamriel, which will be useful in making better love potions. "And how am I supposed to help you with that?" She wants you to introduce her to people of every race so she can experiment sexually with them. You will now get a lot of quest objectives loading up, one for each race (plus a dog and a horse, if you have bestiality turned on in this mod). Ingun will start following you as soon as this happens and you won't be able to get rid of her until she has banged one of everything. She will not have the usual follower dialogue options, but will take care of herself in a fight. See above for suggestions on where to find everyone. She can do them in any order. For the horse: take Ingun to any stable and then talk to her. "Is that horse over there suitable for your experiment?" It is! Bug: this dialogue option sticks to her throughout the quest, regardless of whether there is actually a horse nearby. She will only fuck a horse once during the quest, and will ignore the suggestion if she has already done it. For the dog: find any dog and then talk to the dog while Ingun is nearby. "Come here. I brought you a bitch to breed." The dog Vigilance, outside the Markarth stables, is easy to find. Fair warning: try not to pick a dog that's owned by a child, unless you're fine watching Ingun fuck the dog while the kid watches. For the people: once the NPC is friendly toward you, talk to them with Ingun there. "Friend, Ingun here needs your help with a love-making experiment." The response will always be the same, "Of course, friend. It would be my pleasure to help such a pretty lady." Additional notes on this quest: You cannot volunteer yourself for this experiment. Not sure if bug or feature: Ingun herself will have the "Friend, Ingun here needs your help" dialogue option as soon as the quest starts. If you click on this, she will masturbate, since she's a Nord and this will cross Nords off her list. Do this if you want to, or don't, if there's some other Nord you want her to bang. It doesn't make a difference to quest completion and it will stop being a dialogue option for her after that. 3. Talk to Ingun. After Ingun has fucked everything on her list, talk to her again. "You've done it! That's the last race on the list." She will thank you, and say she will spend more time in the family business now, and continue to work on her alchemy at night. She stops following you at this point and heads home. From now on, she can be found at the Black-Briar Meadery or in the Black-Briar Manor. Courtship option: other players have confirmed you can court Ingun after this, but I didn't get that option when talking to her after the quest, so I am not sure what other conditions there might be. I confirmed that it doesn't make any difference whether you have completed her vanilla quests for alchemy ingredients or not. 4. Talk to Maven. "Ingun agrees to return to the family business." She will thank you and agree to protect Svidi from Sibbi's revenge. 5. Return to Brynjolf. You can do this now to complete the whole Behind Bars quest, or wait until you have also finished any/all of the Thieves Guild side quests described above. Edited August 14, 2021 by nordwithasword 49
Jahtoris Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Blacksmith quest: Embry dead (by alvor). Took Sigrid to whiterun to get Alvor released. Had to pay captain instead of sex option cause Sigrid would just be stuck there and no longer follow. Alvor, sigrid and I (with Mjoll) arrive back in Riverwood and quest completes successfully. Problem is, Sigrid continues to follow PC - there's no conversion option to stop, nor an open quest. ResetAI did nothing. Not sure if a bug or normal. 1
spooky72 Posted December 12, 2020 Posted December 12, 2020 Hello, Thanks for the mod. i Have a problem with the blacksmith quest i can't find captain Caius the questmartker tell me he is in honningbrew but when i enter there is only the quest marker not the npc. What i'm doing wrong?
Karlezeth Posted December 13, 2020 Posted December 13, 2020 So, I'd like to preface my complaints with the fact that the content see get so see in this mod is fan-fucking-tastic. With that out of the way, we really need a roadmap here. From what I can gather, there is heaps of content under the hood which is sad, because most of us will never see it. I understand keeping the mystery about it, and the fact that you may need multiple flow charts to explain everything. Most of us just don't know what we don't know. It's terribly difficult to find things that you don't know exist. I'm not sure why you'd want your content hidden behind a wall of luck. 1
ShimizuModding Posted December 13, 2020 Posted December 13, 2020 so i told alvor to go to whiterun with dorthe, then after awhile he became dead and dorthe went missing. any specific area between riverwood and whiterun to trigger the rescue dorthe quest?
Slumberingeyes Posted December 14, 2020 Posted December 14, 2020 so the dialogue keeps skipping or not showing up and the characters just stand there. is there a way to fix this?
Mr. Otaku Posted December 14, 2020 Posted December 14, 2020 Can anyone explain the "Jarl's Wife" quest to me? The mod is so well written but goddamn does it not explain anything in the game, where am i supposed to find evidence for the Thalmor stuff? Someone explain this quest to me already. It's frustrating to be stuck in a stage.

Yep, see a few posts up from yours for my beginnings of a roadmap. I'm only about halfway through writing those up, but what I'm planning longterm is a revised and extended version which will have an MCM menu, an in-game questgiver, and a more obvious structure within the quests so it's a lot more user-friendly without losing any of the existing plot branches. I'm not the original creator of this mod, but they have abandoned it now, so we're not likely to get any more help from them.

What i'm doing wrong? If there's a quest marker but the NPC isn't showing up, it usually means that NPC is dead. If they've already died in some other game event such as a dragon attack, vampire attack, or in another vanilla or mod quest, everything breaks and you can't move on. I had this issue with other NPCs in other quests in this mod. If he's dead, you can fix this by resurrecting him using console commands. I looked for known vanilla bugs on Caius and apparently there are situations not related to this mod where he just disappears so it's hard to tell if this is mod-related or vanilla. The other possibility is that if you've finished the Whiterun civil war battle and the Stormcloaks took Whiterun, he isn't the guard captain in Whiterun anymore. I don't know if the quest allows for that situation and replaces him with the new Stormcloak captain, Simnir. Can anyone confirm/deny? I'm gradually dredging through all the code for the blacksmith quest and will hopefully have an answer to that in the next few days.

I finally finished writing up a walkthrough for this quest (it's on page 48 a few posts up from yours). I think this is the secret for triggering the rescue quest: regardless of whether you get any other notifications about Alvor being dead, he isn't OFFICIALLY dead and the rescue quest doesn't trigger, until you read the note Embry is carrying. So you have to pickpocket that note first, or loot it off Embry if Embry is dead. Once you read the note, it'll give you another "Warn Alvor" quest. NOW you can go and walk from Riverwood to Whiterun, and it'll trigger halfway along and give you the rescue quest. Gonna become a drunkard myself after how much time it took me to figure out this one.
Jahtoris Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 The Drunkard and the blacksmith quest issue: PC caught sigrid and embry, and killed embry. Was caught by Sven who is now periodically blackmailing her (fun!). Issue is: Quest log still has "the drunkard and the blacksmith" listed, with the subquest "confront the couple and decide what to do" as active and uncompleted (?). I've tried talking to everyone, including Alvor when he returns, waiting a few days, zoned in and out, etc and nothing seems to progress. Wasn't sure if getting blackmailed by Sven was the end of the questline with that choice, or am I missing something? Thanks! 1
jpee1965 Posted December 18, 2020 Posted December 18, 2020 Hey! I am completely stuck with the Behind Bars quest. I cannot resolve it in game. I have read some posts going back to 2017 about this quest and it appears as bugged as a swamp full of skeeters! Does anybody know the quest ID and stage to complete this quest please? I have Linley/Sivid following me around non stop and short of killing her I don't know what to do!!! THANKS!!
