I've finally managed to fiddle with the alpha channels to create the chainmail texture after I got my hands on the Dragon Priestess outfit. The original was a stiff ironing board of clippy mess that made me look past it before, but once it was HDT rigged I got to work editing the textures... Overall I'm incredibly happy how it all came together.

 

 

Below is where I added a leather texture to it at first. I also combined it with the HDT cape and it gave a nice windy effect in Skyrim.

 

 

Took it back to give it a chainmail texture and giving it a different body slot to occupy so that it doesn't clash with the other armor items.

 

 

Combining the various HDT items, it has a really nice dramatic windy feel.

I like that, you should consider posting that as a retexture patch for DL.
