I doubt it was intentional, most of those "Child" Mods were released 6 months to a year BEFORE Four-Play. What is odd is that Nexus would allow children to be abused. I think Ashal is watching to see how this issue is handled.

OK. I think I can usefully clarify a few things at this point.

First of all, I don't believe anyone has been acting with malicious intent here. I'll say that again: there are no bad guys here, just a modder who made a design decision with unexpected consequences. So if anyone's brandishing pitchforks or flaming torches, we can probably put those away now. The reason I'm not naming the mod (let's call it Mod X) is that if I do, someone is bound to raise the subject on Nexus, and before you know it we'll be back to storming the Castle with torches and pitchforks.

Secondly, I have a fix. The idea here is not only to make it difficult for bad guys to get around the safeguards, but also to make it a lot harder to do that accidentally. So the changes I'm putting in fix the problems caused by Mod X and should guard against similar issues in the future. The price of that is going to be an extra hoop that race designers have to jump through if they want their creations to do the dirty, but I believe we can manage that.

Thirdly, there is an ongoing discussion among a number of seasoned modders, several of whom have experience of this problem from similar occurrences in SexLab or Sexout. Ashal is involved in the discussion and has commented more than once. So Ashal is aware of the situation.

Lastly, the changes are coded and just need some tests. I hope to see a release in the next couple of days. If not I'll keep everyone informed.

There's a keyword that should prevent any item it's applied to from being removed. It's a new feature and I've had reports of it not working, although it works fine in testing. Check out Dr. Li's postie hat in the test cell.

A protected slot feature will be along as soon as I can work out how to implement it sanely. There isn't currently a way of intentionally disabling it altogether.

Fuck the pedophile who fucked this up. good luck finding a fix hoping you can prevent this from happening. It really is terrible all jokes aside. except its originally in super bold size.

We ask questions and some people help reporting bugs, if that was a joke thats the worst one ever because if sexual kid mods were on a website it would be blocked and most likely destroyed by the gov. kid mods are no joke, its the same if someone would joke about 9/11 for obvious reasons.

I wholeheartedly agree with Docs point of view, Yes there will always be people who will undo whatever we put in place to prevent these actions, however there are also honest people who really don't want to see child pornography, clothed or otherwise (Like myself). I know for a fact there a few members here who wont be mentioned who are into that sort of thing, however for the sake others please refrain from posting child pornography websites on Loverslab, we don't need that kind of heat again.

I think it's safe to say that since you are making a framework which other mods can hook into, that you can set some expectations on those doing so. 

Rule no.1 do not alter the framework to allow prohibited animations (IE don't fuck with child actors).

It's kind of the same as Beth not making their games with adult modders in mind. If some third party decides to make it, that is on them, but so long as anyone is using your framework in good faith, make sure that they know not to screw around with certain parameters and you should be covered. There is no way that you can police everyone, and if someone really wants to do what you are working hard to prevent, they probably will... but that will be on them, and not you.

With that being said. You are handling this brilliantly, imo, and I am impressed with the loverslab community as a whole. (Random shit posters aside).

One thing here and on most other XXX sites can talk about obscene things involving a toaster, chicken and pineapple and people who aren't into that would just ignore it or take it as a joke. But for 99% of people the limit is kiddie porn.

Regardless of what others do with your mod you need to do what you feel you can so you feel comfortable to release it. Yes groups like that may have some coders who will bypass your checks, but we can't stop making things incase they are used badly.

Should we stop making TV's and DVD players because people may use them to watch kiddie porn? Or cars and kitchen knives because people may use them to deliberately harm others.

Of course not, we can't stop making sexmods for 99.9% of the users due to a few bad eggs.

Are there even nude skins for children etc? If so, can't you check if there are extra mashes/skins for children and just block functions if that is the case? Dry humping fully clothed children does not seem to be a proper reason to me for banning the whole mod...

 

Or you could whitelist certain characters for now (followers, guards and some well known characters) such that we can at least use some part of the mod until you find a final solution.

Excuse me if I may seem to suggest something that is not possible or such, but if so then I probably am because I have almost no experience modding any Beth game at all, but here's what I thought: Perhaps you could do, instead of a blacklist kind of thing, a whitelist but combined with the blacklist, a multiple step verification, the children race is automatically blocked by the blacklist at start and then the actors are checked if they are part of the other races so only default races can pass trough the filter and get in the action. However this does limit the options of others to make their own custom races and add them in. Alternatively, on top of this or separetly, you can add your own custom filters, to put actors into categories by their attributes, so that if an actor is half the size (as height goes) of a normal adult then it gets registered as a child and gets blocked (my apologies to those that like short people or midgets or so on), or if it uses Nat's voice and whatever else may help identify their true nature. Of course, at the end of the day, however high the metaphorical wall may be, someone on one side will just keep trying to go over to the other,if they really want too. Therefore I'd say that making it impossible to get children in, is almost impossible itself (though I have limited knowledge of the game engine, I am basing this only on some knowledge of human determination and dedication in front of an obstacle standing between them and their kink/fetish) so I'd say it would be a good idea just to make it damn hard for starters, until you figure our a more permanent solution. Make it so damn hard that half of them give up before they even start, and then some more when they get CTDs trying to do it. As many people have said here before me, we can't just ban stuff because a few people misuse them, for example using a bread knife to hurt someone, or a car to run someone over. You made this for legit purposes, and took steps to block the unlegit from being possible, so you are (legally, ethically and morally) not responsible for those actions any more than Mr Ford is responsible for people getting run over by reckless drivers (meaning not at all), so don't beat yourself up over it, just keep doing your thing, the stroke of genius will come on it's own.

Not really. There aren't any papyrus methods for interrogating model paths, textures and the like. I did some stuff along those lines in Skyrim, but I think that was using SKSE extensions.

I've got a workable solution now. If all goes well, there'll be a release tonight.

More or less the plan. There's a race whitelist, You're not on the list, the scene doesn't play. There's a couple of actor blacklists, but they're so modders can exclude actors that shouldn't be participating for whatever reason.

 

I may add an API function to allow race-creating modders to add their creations to the whitelist. If I do it will refuse to accept certain races.

 

That's enough to resolve the current problem as far as I am aware. I'll consider further measures if a need arises.

All checks are in the esp. Shouldn't matter where it goes in the load order, but probably after Crazy's gun mod and before the mods that use it if you want to be doubly sure. Loot will probably figure it out just fine

you can still use leito 1.0a gun and crazy gun till the framework is ready those 2 mods incorporate all the animations needed to get four play anyway.

I had an idea while I was posting to SEU that I thought I'd repeat here. It had to do with SEU's flirt and assult calling different sets of animations. I'm not clear on how four-play is currenlty set up internally but, seems to me, this would be what you might want to shoot for:

 

Four-play should have a consensual bucket of animations and an agressive bucket of animations that could be added to by Crazy or Lieto or whoever so each mod could call the types of animations it needs. For example: Aggressive animations for SEU Assault or Violate and consensual animations for SEU Flirt or Autonomy (or Prostitution).

 

Let me know if I'm way off base here.
