FuzzyWonder Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 Anyone know a good site to find out sales so far for this game? Vgchartz has nothing yet. I'm very curious if they will meet this 3 million copies at launch that EA thinks.
zzz72w3r Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 EA only discloses actual sales if the title exceeds target, or a massive failure that investors demanded answers such as SimCity. For example, DA:I was not a hit and to this date we still don't know how it did. It launched around 2 million+ but we only know that because EA bragged it was the biggest Dragon Age launch ever. That EA has said nothing since hints that DA:I did not sell more than 5 million but also probably did OK. If EA plans for 3 million for ME:A launch then it probably expects 6-7 million at least, on par with ME3. What EA says or does not say gives a rough ballpark of how the game sells. BTW, ME:A micro-transaction pricing just got announced. Fuck EA.
Tripleekz Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 Seems like they've taken lessons from the shady WoW gold sellers and now made this king of garbage legit, or at least to them legit. I can remember them screaming about this kind of thing when it was regular people doing it but now EA is doing it like most publishers LMAO hypocrites.

I can remember them screaming about this kind of thing when it was regular people doing it but now EA is doing it like most publishers LMAO hypocrites. EA already did that with Dead Space 3. The thing that people don't seem to understand is that even if you don't use microtransactions yourself you are still supporting them by buying the game. It's a zero risk and effort calculation that generates additional money here and there, so why not cram it into every game you can? It's not like you are losing sales or anything. People defending ingame shops in premium games are like people ordering something at a restaurant and getting a plate with a big steaming piece of literal shit in the middle and then saying 'well, you don't need to eat the turd, just eat the other stuff that's there'. Yeah, no.

Or can the entire project (doubtful).
zzz72w3r Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 EA has always been "innovative" in squeezing money from gamers. I think ME3 was the first AAA single player game costing full price AND needed a pay-to-play mechanism to complete (its MP micro-transaction), in addition to setting a new standard of cutting out critical contents into premium DLC. Most people probably don't remember this but EA was the company that "pioneered" selling integrated advertisements into its games. In the announcement EA actually said it's for gamers because having real world ads enhance realism. The only reason that money grab failed was because companies saw associating their brands with EA games actually led to negative impression increase. Even when EA canceled the program the company said it will strive to bring it back when technology is ready, you know, for gamers. I think that was around the time EA started asking for exclusivity in negotiating licensing deals. It's not hypocrisy if we all know it's evil.

I hate EA honestly, but I don't think the way they did advertising in their games was evil. They did it in a way that really did boost realism to a degree since I only ever it in their sports games, and a few minor things in the Sims series; It was a lot tamer than some of the really obnoxious advertising some companies and software developers have integrated into their games.

The first attempt was a long time ago and pretty obnoxious, think Michael Bay in the last Transformer movie but in very low res graphics. So they did bring it back. Now that I think about I do fucking hate those resource hugging and crash prone ads in Sims3. If I remember correctly EA told investors the vision was to build ad engines into every game so to create a portfolio of "properties" to sell in real time. If you think that's OK after paying $60 for the game then you know why EA management is well regarded by investors. EA can fleece customers better than anyone in the industry.

Mass Effect Andromeda Pre-Order Available With A 30% Off On Origin In Select Regions Mass Effect Andromeda, the new entry in the series developed by BioWare for PC and consoles, is only releasing in around two months, but if you’re getting the game for sure on PC, you may want to take advantage of a very good deal that’s now available on Origin. All Mass Effect Andromeda editions available for pre-order on Origin are available with a 30% off in select regions. We can confirm that the deal is available for several European countries, so make sure to take advantage of it as soon as possible if you’re planning to get the game at launch on PC. http://wccftech.com/mass-effect-andromeda-pre-order-available-30-off-origin-select-regions/ And here something from the past Also apart from Dragon Age and Sim City, the business is currently booming at EA. In the months October to December 2015, the company increased sales by 40 percent compared to the same period of the previous year to about 1.13 billion US dollars. The bottom line was a net gain of $ 142 million, in the prior-year quarter, EA posted a loss of $ 308 million. The new consoles are a crucial cause: a year ago, EA on PlayStation 4 and Xbox one had reached only about $ 24 million sales, now there were 427 million U.S. dollars. FuzzyWonder Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 I found a really good documentary on how Bioware did all of their character designs, animations and lip-synching for this game: Oh! I was thinking something just like this a few days ago and forgot the shows name. I thought this was the same thing but im not 100%. There where these little robots shaped like basketball size balls and they would roll around and when they stop they uncovered there eyes by a compartment sliding open. They where commanded by these puppets in this documentary. Hard to describe. It was Terrahawks I was thinking of.
prinyo Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 So the "gay friendly" MEA is forcing the gay players into straight relationships if they want to get an Achievement. "The "Matchmaker" trophy is for completing three romances" but the gay male Scot has only 2 available romances. This sounds a bit like a passive-agresive close relative that pretends to be OK that you are gay, but keeps asking when you are going to find a girl to marry. Even worse - the game just tells you that as a gay person you are not really a complete individual and you are bound to to be something less than the others. "What do you mean you want to get all the Achievements, gays don't get to do that" I simply can't believe in how many lame ways they fail with this game in so many regards. And I was bitching earlier that the magic Geth telescope makes no sense. Turns out this is not the stupidest thing. Later in the game we find out that dad-Ryder has audio records about the Reaper invasion that he somehow received from the Milky way after arriving at Andromeda.

It might not be the result of any reluctance to put homosexual content in the game or malice(though it certainly didn't seem to take priority over the romances that the majority of the fanbase would likely go for)but from the same kind of corner-cutting that resulted in MEA being released in the state that it was. Even if they had other same-sex romances, they likely cut them for time.

Even if they had other same-sex romances, they likely cut them for time. They should have cut the Achievement also then. Having it in place changes the situation from "the freedom of the artist" to decide what content to include to forcing the player to do something in order to get the needed numbers. This is no iron ore or shards, this is quite a sensitive topic. I actually expect them to drop the Achievement at some point. Still the myth about the gay-friendly Bioware/EA is broken.

Sorry German Website https://www.golem.de/news/electronic-arts-dragen-age-inquisition-ist-ein-verkaufserfolg-fuer-bioware-1501-111988.html There's no way this thing does well with what we're seen so far. Animations have gone back to PS2 ages and the graphics look shit. Above everything it's also a Bioware game. No matter how much they pay the likes of IGN to shill for them, there is no way in hell it will sell.
D_ManXX2 Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 I think maybe that is why they added 30 % cut because maybe they realise people will not pay the full prise not for this.

Objections, this offer has been started * Jan 10, 2017 *! It was still not clear to anyone how MEA will, It was only this month that the drama began.
D_ManXX2 Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 In its current state 70 % cut is still too expensive i wont pay more then 20% the current price if i even buy it. i will wait till the game gets in the bin it will probebly be really low price by then.
Dee383 Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 Im So Glad I Dont Pre Order Games Think Of All Those Morons Who Pro Ordered This Game , If They Cant Get Their Money Back Man They Are Going To Be Dissapointed ..
Darkening Demise Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 Oblivion was the last game I bought from Beth for the "story". After it, I bought their games for the mods. Ok! Ok! Alright already..........for the SEX mods. When I discovered modding after being confused as to how Skyrim was awesome as everyone made it out to be. Checked out Nexus played with CBBE and that awful male mod with permanent erections along with Animated Prostitution. I found myself Googling other naughty stuff and looked at Google Images. Discovered Oblivion had some naughtiness and joined this site. Can't play Bethesda games unmodded they purposely make them awful to make millions off of mod sales. Shitty game+Mods=sales=success. Sad after Morrowind (which was the beginning of the decline for those who can't put nostalgia goggles away for a freaking minute) they went downhill bigly in a tremendous fashion. Sad! ---------------- Make ugly women so the female audience that plagued DAI can feel secure about themselves with purdy anime boys only. Yep that's Bioware today after they hired those Tumblr millennials and all the original creators started leaving in a hurry as if a hurricane was coming. The only players of DAI were overwhelmingly women and for a reason. It appealed towards the left and the 3rd wave feminist 'logic'. Not to mention it was mainly for bis and gays. No love for the straights. Nothing for the guys unless you swing that direction.

It's not the stupidest thing in Andromeda. The whole sequence in Aya is just stupid (or reeks of cut content). In the landing cutscene, you can't communicate with angara because of language barrier, but when you land, you suddenly can understand their language and what is worse, angara are aware of the fact that you came from another galaxy, know who you are and what you want and are eager to give you quests.
