PS4 Mods Are A No No Says Sony

Every good man is free, either to play Pokemon or - to create something worth playing. Until we do, beating the developer skills of Bethesda from scratch that is, we'd better keep a low profile not to sound utterly stupid.

To point all over again to the simple fact that there ain't much difference between a parent looking for their child (FO4) and a child looking for their father (FO3) really makes no educational sense, either one gets it or not.

Regarding PS4 mods only the manufacturer of the PS has a say, it is as simple as that. One might regret the decision made by Sony and speculate about their reasoning and most interested people do, but it won't change anything.

I wouldn't touch unmodded Beth game (exept Daggerfall and Morrowind ages ago) even with a ten foot pole, thats true. but don't say bethesda dudes are bad programmers, don't be ridiculous. the fact that game like Skyrim even works on ps3 is a fucking programming masterpiece. ;] not to mention that you really can't be a bad programmer if you can create a dragon flying backwards and a fecking mammoth falling down from the sky. in the long run that kind of shit actually adds to the game! bugs are not really the problem. the problem is a stuff no modder can fix like screwed protagonist in F4 (Shawn, booohoooohoooo...my baby.......) and retarded "quests" and characters like Atom Cats (whoever in Bethesda created this - eat shit and die you dumb fuck and gimmie back my brain cells and 30 minutes of my life!!

Well, they're the only ones that are trying to make these kind of games, so comparisons are always hard to make. Sure, some people will praise game x over Bethesda game y because y is not enough like x, but that is mostly complaining about why eating strawberry ice cream doesn't taste like eating vanilla ice cream.

There's also many complaints about Bethesda dumbing down their games, especially with the essential characters introduced in Oblivion, but people are quick to judge and slow to think why these things happen. Oblivion for example was afaik the first Bethesda game that gave the AI the freedom to decide a few things independent from player actions. Most of the time that resulted in talks about mudcrabs, but it also allowed friendly NPCs to run into enemy NPCs. Worst case scenario without essential NPCs would be you getting a message out of nowhere that the fate of the world has been fucked beyond repair and you wondering what the fuck just happened.

Compare that to Morrowind, Fallout 1&2 or Baldur's Gate where the only danger to NPCs was always the consequence of a player doing something, whether it be attacking them directly, triggering a scripted sequence or pulling enemies over to the location of said NPCs.

Anyway, for better or worse Bethesda is the gold standard in that particular genre. Simply because there is no competition which is bad in itself, but isn't something you can blame Bethesda for. Blame the scared devs and publisher that would rather churn out another Arkham/GTA/AssCreed lookalike because that sells good enough for such a low risk taken.

:D :D :D :D :D !!!!!

Bethesda's quality control has always been lousy. They're good at starting things from scratch but lousy at finishing them. It's like the people in charge of their projects have ADD. I wonder how console gamers will react when it comes to future titles after this fiasco?

So apparently Sony decided mods are immoral and have blocked Bethesda from bringing them to Playstation 4 via Fallout 4 and Skyrim Remastered. While this means less stealing via console peasants this also says a lot about Sony's actions over the last few years.

What do you mean sony's actions? this is a clear action to protect sony and its console from stupid customers who will either brick their console or damage their game and calling sony to fix their problem.

Stop blaming Bethesda who without we wouldn't even have Fallout 4! Sony are the d's here like they always are and anyone who supports them are crazy!

On a side note buy a PC!

I was under the impression that the biggest hurdle to mods on the PS4 was that Sony uses proprietary audio codecs (at the very least), which they do not want distributed to the general public to use to build mods with. If so, this is something Bethesda should have damned well known about since well into early development of FO4 - years before the game's launch. Maybe they thought they could hammer something out, they overestimated their position, and it fell through - but to me, that's pretty squarely on Bethesda's shoulders.

Lets not praise Sony for their outstanding performances in the past, just like we shouldn't praise Bethesda for their less than stellar performance in the past as well. Pretty sure Bethesda wouldn't have went through the trouble of attempting to make mods work with PS4 if Sony hadn't said 'sure' earlier on, but after seeing the mess that is FO4 I too would probably back out like 'Nah. Thanks but no thanks.' And let's be serious, Sony is well within it's rights to step back, look at the mess that is Bethesda Modding and wisely back off, no harm no foul.

Not saying sony is completely guilt free, after the whole 'we don't want you in our universe' bawletion incident. But the fanboyism that's been going on lately for Bethesda boggles my mind.

You have got to be kidding right - how many modded games are there on the PS or any console anyway. Fanboyism for Bethesda - there one of very few companies that allow there games to be modded to the extent they do so praise to them. Could you just imagine Skyrim with no mods LOL and look at the modding flop which is the Witcher 3 LOL We wouldn't even be having this discussion if Sony weren't so f...... rude!!

And the Bethbashers who don't own Fallout or want to play it coming into a Beth Fallout Forum telling mostly silent players how bad Beth is boggles us even more........

At this point it doesn't matter who's at fault for no PS4 mods for FO4. The majority of gamers have left it behind and now Bethesda is focusing their attention on SSE, which apparently will have mods for PS4. Whether that last part actually happens we'll have to wait and see.

The way I see it is, both Bethesda AND SONY were idiots about the entire ordeal. Someone at SONY must have cleared Bethesda to announce mods on the PS4, and at ANY time, SONY could have said "whoa!... hold up a sec, we NEVER said that was a definite" instead of allowing their customers to believe the ever-building hype being generated by Bethesda's announcement.

So in a nutshell, they were all assholes for even putting the ball in play.....

I doubt Sony would just say 'hey, no... no more mods mmkay?' Bethesda didn't comply with their rules and Bethesda pointed the finger at Sony like some little taddle tellers because they can't own up to their responsibility. Now that Sony gave them a second chance, Bethesda is being that little good puppy. if they were so right, they would of just turn their backs on Sony and let the blame fall on them,

Most people will automatically blame one side without knowing both sides of the story. Most people took Beth's side when they posted their statement on their site. 'Oh, bad Sony. You outta be a shamed of yourselves!' blah blah, Yeah, well when we saw Sony allow modding for another game from another game developer, that much was clear to see that Sony isn't against mods on console. People just defend Bethesda too much and can't ever admit that Bethesda was at fault. they messed up, simple as that. But god forbid Bethesda ruins their image that's already tainted since their ongoing usage of gamebyro and faulty products. God forbid their image be tainted from their everyday lies they spew in the faces of their fans.

God forbid I say anything against Bethesda because it's just going to draw someone who doesn't like that I make fun of their company who's spoon fed them BS since toddler.
