That film is really bad, i cannot recommend this enough - read the damn books!

I'm lucky enough to own a first edition of the first book "Interview with the vampire" given to me from my grandmother.

Seriously though, "Fuck that film" you have got to read the vampire chronicles by Anne Rice, they are an amazing read.

Make it your new years resolution to at least read the first book.

I only drink on Christmas eve-day/new years eve-day/and my birthday.

T-total otherwise, and this is coming from an ex heroin addict who has been clean now since 2005.

Happy new year Eva. :)

It is good to have a drink on occasion to celebrate something worth celebrating, as long as you don't abuse it - you can enjoy it.

Here is an old Frankie Boyle joke =

I woke up with a sore head and no money in my pockets.

i said it could be worse - could have woke up with a sore arse and more money in your pockets! ?

Awesome, Good on you!! I do not want to take away from your success, My story.......

I quit 225 mg of Opioids a day when the pandemic hit, 30 years on that stuff was hard on my body, but when your spine is wack and inoperable, you just do what the Doctors say. Weird thing is the pain killers were actually causing pain to get more drug, I know it did not make a whole lot of sense when my last Doctor explained it to me, but he was right. Since I quit, and it was cold turkey, no help from the pain clinic to get off the meds, Four and a half months of withdrawal but worth the pain and anguish. Still in a lot of pain, but better than the drugs to get up, to function, to sleep, just rinse and repeat. Not much of a life.

I bet this is how you look at 5 am when you roll out of bed for the day!

Seriously, I have read so many of your post, I admire you!!

@caveman74

It's not a success story. Don't praise me for it. I was an asshole back then.

I've done some really bad things, seen a lot of bad things, seen old friends die, seen people act & do some really bad shit you would not even believe.

The only reason i got clean is because i got caught selling Heroin and went to prison.

I was lucky, Prison was easy for me because i knew most of them in there and i just got on with my time.

Looking back though - I'm glad it happened, as i am a better person now than i was back then.

Most of my friends are still addicts, some i have known since school, i can't have any contact with them any more.

Some of them look like they are in their 80's, no teeth/bald/skinny, it is really sad to see them like that.

I'm just lucky i got out of that game when i did, the way things were going i would probably be dead before now.

Heroin is not cool people, do not even think of trying it, it only leads to misery and/or death.

I didn't read them, but my bro did and said the same thing. I mean.... Tom Cruise as Lestat? Think he said Julian Sands would have been a better choice.

Agreed on Julian Sands playing Lestat, much better choice than Tom Cruise.

Though it would still be a bad film, maybe if they hired a competent scriptwriter with knowledge of the books characters and lore.

Remember the scene where Louis & Lestat are pretending to eat in front of the servants, in the book Louis's father was blind - that's why they were pretending to eat.

The scene in the film did not make sense, the servants could see they were not eating the food! ?

Have you seen Julian Sands in the film Warlock. - Old 80's film.

If you ever do get the time to read the first book, you should.

You will enjoy it.

Got drunk. Woke up still broke ._. Happy gnome didn't come to me.

Glad the holiday stress is over. Reality it's not as glamourus as when we where kids. More a less a task. Nice one, sure. Came down to eating and seeing relatives. I wish to be drowned in gifts again for selfish reasons.

We all tend to undermine ourselves in nefarious ways, I still encourage you to make it a positive instead of a negative. It was a Good thing and was very difficult, not a lot of People could have stood either the getting clean or time. I say Good on You, I feel you accomplished things and change is never easy or fun! If it was hey, everyone would do it. Support is offered if ever you need it.
