Just goes to show the value of identifying magic items before equipping them. Some players are okay with giving up control. Those who play wild magic sorcerers are a good example of this. That is just one of many cursed shit I love.

My beef with Wild Magic Sorcerers is that rolling on the wild magic table is arbitrarily decided by the DM. That and I have never liked playing wizard-type character classes. Grey Cloud Posted May 17, 2025 Posted May 17, 2025 Just watched the FA Cup final. Palace player scores and does the Xtian thing of kissing his fingers, holding up his arms to heaven and saying prayer to thank his god. Two minutes later the goal is disallowed by VAR. 1

Darkpig Posted May 22, 2025 Posted May 22, 2025 Can you imagine a dominatrix going to the doctor? Doctor: Have a seat. Dom: No worries I brought my own stool. Isn’t that right stool? Stool: Yes Mistress! Dom: Oh dear! My stool seems to be squeaking again. I really should get it fixed.
RedHeadAngel Posted May 22, 2025 Posted May 22, 2025 When I see that Disney has announced yet another live-action remake that no one asked for and will ultimately bomb.
---nikoli Posted May 22, 2025 Posted May 22, 2025 It's becoming increasingly annoying that it's becoming a universal trend that most manufacturers have opted for the ploy of having zero quality control, finding it cheaper for themselves to just replace the defective products if the consumer can manage to get them to admit that the item in question is faulty and doesn't work in the first place. Asus has received the last dollar they will ever get from me, lately their products are averaging about a 20% fail rate and are utter garbage. I purchased eight Chakram mice and six Claymore II keyboards recently, updating all of the PCs I use; Three of the mice and one of the keyboards were DOA right out of the box. --- Their customer service is almost nonexistent and if you do manage to contact someone, their confrontational.

Chbaakal Posted May 22, 2025 Posted May 22, 2025 Well, fuck. "Hey," I said to myself just a few days ago, "I think I want to replay S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chornobyl again with the mods I had archived for this very moment." Checks Steam Library. "Oh, the Enhanced Version was installed over the existing game. Wonder what's changed.....oh. Oh wow....Historical Revisioning....gutted due to 'Russian Imagery'; bad optimization, idiotic font and UI, and 'Censored' for the current-day Mental Midget Ministry!" Fucking mentally-deficient humans attempting to hide from another 'Sorrowful Chapter' of reality. What a sad and futile joke. If I really wanted an Enhanced 'Altered for Idiots' version, I would have bought it by now. Give me the Original back, you whiny primates!

Fair point. Not everyone's cup of tea. I have the same problem really, I love hamburgers but not a big fan of Big Mac's. Wendy's makes better food to be honest.🥰

It might be more popular to discuss whether or not turn-based games are dead or hated than the turn-based games themselves. Some people love turn-based games, especially when it comes to strategy games. If I were into strategy games, I would prefer turn-based. But when it comes to adventure games like Baldur's Gate, Skyrim, etc., fuck turn-based. Obviously plenty of people like or are at least OK with turn-based adventure games or BG3 would not be so popular, but there's no shortage of mockery of the tedium of BG3's combat. That's my beef with turn-based small party adventure games. It was given to me as a gift from someone who knew I really like BG 1 and 2. If I had known BG3's combat would be so lame, I would have told them "If you're thinking of buying BG3 for me, don't." Not too long after BG2 came out, someone released a game called I think The Ruins of Myth Drannor (or I might be thinking of the name of another old D&D computer game, but the exact title is not relevant to my point). In advertising they billed it as the first computer game to use 3rd edition D&D (which might very well have been true). It was turn-based and combat was even lamer than BG3's. The little avatars sort of waddled around from place to place when they moved during combat.
D3vilizeR Posted May 23, 2025 Posted May 23, 2025 (edited) What did we get with the Skyrim AE release? New DLC? Bug fixes? Any new content? A graphical overhaul? WE GOT NOTHING! I'm sorry, we got, but things that nobody asked for. They spat in the fans' faces and ruined every mod, while it's thanks to mods and modders that Skyrim is still so popular. Everyone was rightly outraged. Here we are in 2025 and I see many modders who also criticized Bethesda for AE in the past are now suddenly upset as to why anyone is using version 1.5.97. If you have a stable mod list (with 1000+ mods), why would you switch? Just because some modders are licking Todd Howard's ass? I can understand why Bethesda keeps releasing Skyrim updates because there will always be some idiot who supports/buys it without getting anything new in return (obviously I don't blame those who bought the game fresh and only got access to AE). Sometimes I regret switching from LE to SE. I completely understand those who are still using LE. I sincerely hope that Elder Scrolls VI comes out in a few years and they finally leave Skyrim alone, because this is already a disgrace. Edited May 23, 2025 by D3vilizeR 1

Bethesda makes $0 off of people who already bought the game and mod it up with mods from Nexuxmods and here. They have to do things that will entice people who don't own the game to buy it. They could market it as "Buy Skyrim and then mod the fuck out of it," but they're not going to do that. Grocery stores have to give a shit because every week you could go to a different store. But there's a reason car dealers and software makers (to pick two examples) have reps for providing shitty customer service. Once they get your money, they couldn't give a flying fig whether you are happy or not. They already have your money. Let's say you're super unhappy with the current state of Skyrim. What are you gonna do about it? Stop playing Skyrim? That doesn't hurt Bethesda. I guess if they got too bad their reputation would be ruined, but that doesn't seem to have happened to Bethesda. My understanding is that the Oblivion remaster is pretty popular. 2

What's happening now is just the latest money-grubbing, without any meaningful content. If they want to make so much money, why didn't they make a better Starfield or Fallout 76? Why don't they put their energy into TES VI and Fallout 5? If they had, there wouldn't be AE now. 1
