I spent literally all night working on my sanctuary. 
Its actually very secure and I find to be very beautiful and almost cut off from the rest of the wasteland, although I don't really live there myself, I prefer the railroad HQ as my home, but it can get a bit dark and depressing down there so its good to have a nice place to go.
