I dont really understand how Komotor's Animations will be work..

I have install it, run Fnis, have installed MassMatchMaker (I do not know if I need it)

But I always get the message that the mod is not installed after the branding scene and the cross.

 

Did you remember to activate and register it in the SLAL menu?

I've got the newest version on. Everything went smoothly up until the "worship at Clavicus Vile's Shrine" quest. When I click on "worship at shrine" , the scene begins as it should. The character enters a bondage pose, Nocturnal appears, a sexlab animation initiates and I get one or two dialogue options. Then she disappears and the scene stops.

 

It seems like what's happening is I reach the "We're going to need more power to do this ritual" dialogue choice and then Nocturnal disappears because the summon nocturnal with shout scripts are also activating and it's interrupting the shrine scene? Is the sex animation supposed to be activating when we start the scene?

 

 

The sex animation should not be trying to happen in this scene. (I've seen this symptom myself in a different scenario, and realized I was catching myself testing with a update without clean saving)

 

I can think of 2 possibilities:

  1. You had a previous encounter end abnormally and things have not reset.... try the "force player reset" option in MCM before you worship. If that does not reset things, having another encounter occur could clear you up... so you could force one by setting the shout detection to 100, and shout.
  2. You upgraded this mod without a clean save... you can try the reset option, but even if this works, you could end up with more unpredictable problems later on. Should reinstall including a clean save... there's a spoiler on how to clean save in my Installation section.

 

 

I just finished the quest line up to where you are released. This is possibly one of the best done SL quest mods I've ever played. 

 

For the initial problem I reported, I used the reset as you suggested and that seemed to take care of it, although it did seem I had to location change before the worship at the shrine to teleport to Nocturnal option came up (I stepped outside the cave, then the quest advanced).

 

This install of your mod was on a new game so it wasn't an upgrade issue. I think what happened is I had Zaz set to block inappropriate animations when your character is say, belted. I noticed that when Nocturnal appeared and it called for a sex animation, it seemed the Zaz block would kick in, and rather than default to another animation, it would give me a;

"Playing Animation: "

in the upper left corner of the screen but no animation was listed and nothing would play, Nocturnal would stand there for a moment and then just disappear. I'm wondering if that caused the initial issue. I turned off blocking and the quests proceeded smoothly after that.

 

The other issue that came up is when I used the key to remove the devices, some of them wouldn't come off. However, when I reloaded my save after trying to remove the devices and failing, the devices all immediately came off when the save loaded in.

Could you check as a test.... Do you have 16 files, dated yesterday in this folder:

Data\textures\actors\character\FaceGenData\FaceTint\Shout Like a Virgin.esp

  • If not the mod has not installed correctly, neither the main, or the patch. So then you'd want to reinstall and try doing it manually

 

Not much time, so just tackling this one right now.

 

The texture files look fine, but shouldn't there be matching .nif files in Data\Meshes\Actors\Character\FaceGenData\FaceGeom\Shout Like a Virgin.esp?

I don't know for sure, just comparing to other mods, they may not be necessary.  I tried generating my own with the creation kit, but I am not sure what I am doing and it was throwing errors about eyebrows.

 

 

 

Oh yes, thank you! you nailed it. That was the problem and I was able to recreate (my mod manager was misbehaving and not uninstalled these so I was never seeing the result of these files missing).

 

I've updated the dark face patch and it's on the download page if you want to try it. But you can just wait for next main release too as I'm sure this has fixed it.

You do need to use Komotors SLAL version of download, and install this (its how you install any animation pack)...

Any case of a sex animation going bad (you've indicated one of the ways this can happen), things can get stuck and is the main reason I needed to provide the reset button as I will never work around this 100%.

 

The removal of devices DOES do what you described sometimes, I find mostly first time trying. And in fact if you wait long enough they actually do come off without a save/reload. I've seen it take maybe 30-90 seconds. I can't explain it but I know it happens for any devious device for me and so I'm not sure it's a cause of this mod, but I suspect it's something hung up for a bit in DDi and think maybe it's introduced by the 3.0beta which I know they will soon be updating.

You likely need to tell sexlab to re-register all the animations. Or use the same option in SLAL I think under general that does that.

 

After that, you will need to tell Zaz to register sexlab animations because this will un-do Zaz

I still see only one way for your equip problem to occur since its not random and doing what's expected for a male consistently.... it would have to be that it thinks you are male. To tackle this one, right after you do the "skip story" and have been equipped incorrectly, could you do this in console...

"Need" is a bit strong, just thought it would be nice to prevent possible future problems with other Devious Device Mods.

Do you have any fancy race mods or something that could be altering gender registered?

Female, Biped Model should point to Virgin\VirginHarness_1.nif

 

I think I know where you are coming from, but the asset I used had it pointing to the _0 so I merely copied the pattern.

 

I'd like to try it, but I'd like to have some problem I'm able to recreate, so that I can then see that it fixed it. Can you remind me what problem this fixes so I can do that?

I'm not sure of the specifics on it, but to confirm, I have a custom cbbe build and even with the full dwemer set installed and built, the harness from your mod clips when the original doesn't.

 

Well, the older version did. I actually haven't gotten that far on this new game with the new version, but if you haven't changed anything with the harness, then I would suspect it still will.

Yup. Was able to recreate, and then fix using r5e4w3q2's solution, so will be in coming release. All this time and I did not even realize there was  problem for CBBE!

Yeah, I am baffled, getpcissex male returns a zero and getpcissex female returns a 1, so Skyrim knows the PC is female. The "[Virgin]: Player is female" lines in the log means that the mod is checking confirming the PC is female. The mod appears to default to female, so even if the check wasn't being listened to at all it should still see the PC as female.

 

I guess I need to start tossing mods, but I don't know how any would be causing this result.

 

ETA:

Well tried tossing various mods one at a time and didn't see a difference, but goofing around I found something strange.

Start a game, Female_var=False, but if I then save, run that save through a save cleaner to remove any traces of Shout Like a Virgin, then load that save, when SLaV reinitializes, Female_var=True, and everything seems to work right.  I have no clue what is going on!

I've ask another question, I have SlaveTats installed, but get every time the same 5 SLAVE tattoos.. there is no more there, or am I doing something wrong ?

Yes, currently.

 

Maybe someday there will be custom incrementing tattoos.

 

That does bring up a thought.  I have not tried it but does being good enough to earn a rebirth reset the tattoos? On one hand magic rebirth, but on the other hand magic tattoos...

Hey, again. Hope you don't mind, I have a few more things that I would like to ask you.

 

  1. In my case, the equipping part doesn't work as it should. The torch, the collar and the wrists shackles,always get equipped, but except the chastity rings (which worked once), none of the other items are automatically placed on my character. Is this supposed to happen? (I can manually add them and equip them, so that;s not an issue).
  2. I don't remember if this happened in the previous versions, but with this latest one, when you fall in the pit and enter the cage (Nocturnal's temple), Nocturnal appeared before the cage's door closed. If you don't mind a suggestion, I feel like it would be even more immersive if the cage closed first and you had to wait a few seconds (wondering if you did the right thing or not) before Nocturnal appeared.
  3. This is just a personal question, nothing to do with the mod with the mod itself). I've noticed in the pictures that you posted, that you use some tattoos that I don't have, Could you please tell me which tattoo modes you are using? Thanks.

Once again, this mod is one of the most entertaining ones that I've played. Thank you for all your hard work.

 

Lastly, would it be OK to PM you with a question regarding some of the in-game furniture?

Female_var is a variable created/stored by this mod. And it's not globally accessible by other mods. So it's also strange that after cleaning it's still there for you.

 

I'm going to try 2 things in a future release, use a different variable name just in case it is somehow used in a way I don't know. And I'm going to initialize it when it's first needed instead of immediately on game load.
