Nice fixes. Does this update include any more updates to the Dibella quest or does it still revert to the old version at nylons with a quick nail fix for now?

Aside bug fixes, there is not much new for the quest itself, except that I inserted 1 or 2 new short dialog lines in between.

The "showing hairstyle changes in console" feature will be useful. If anybody spots an inappropriate hairstyle being applied (e.g. when hair grows) or nothing happens when hairstyles should be applied, please post it on the forums, so we can change the database.

So I'm having a problem, so I'm using KS Hairdos HDT (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/31300) but your mod fails to acknowledge that and tries to use regular KS Hairdos instead which causes my character to be bald even if I go into racemenu and re-add the correct hair it just goes back to being bald, also I'm not sure if your piercing feature is compatible with Goam Elf Ears as I haven't tested that yet but they are a requirement for the race I'm playing as.

If possible could you make this mod compatible with the Shortstack mod that was released in January as I've noticed that the stockings and a couple other things don't actually show up on any of the races that mod adds, the race Keyword is SSP_ShortRace and the directory prefix is ShortStack

That's okay. I was checking where to leave test saves for the next update.

Store a save just after wearing the stockings. That's where the next quest revamp update will continue.

That is strange. If your character becomes bald, look in the mirror and post the results here.

Try also to edit the ypsHairDefault.json and turn "use random hair as default" off in MCM.

YPS doesn't bother about ear mods; you need to make sure using compatible earring mods.

I don't know what "the Shortstack mod" might be.

Ah, I was keeping a save from just before putting them on.

I haven't used it myself but I think it's a race mod with Goblins and Gnomes.

This is the Shortstack mod https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/24701-shortstack-uncensored-se/ and yeah it's just like Balgin said above it is a race mod that adds in things like Goblins, Gnomes and Kobolds. It still uses the same meshes, textures and skeleton as the rest of the races that are in the game by default.

I can confirm that the fixes for the hair menu initializing work. As soon as I loaded up with 6.8.4.1, I got the prompt to set my length and color. I'm also now getting notifications about  body hair growing.

I'm quite relieved that it works now. I must have messed up something during a previous update, but don't know exactly what.

New Hair configs for... <snip>

Excellent. I put them all in a single zip file, including the updated ypsHairDatabase.json (see below).

I will include them in the next update.

If you really have time, there are still several hair mods that are only partly included in the database. This is includes "Tullius Hair 3 SMP" and "Holiday Gift Hairdo".

But these mods have really lots of hairstyles, so that means a big workload. No need to rush this.

Bizarrely I backported that one to normal Skyrim a few days ago (and taught myself how to backport mods) but the hair has some odd translucency issues where the lower half of it's very transparent. I'm not happy with it but proud of my backporting achievement. I went from not knowing how to backport anything to actively managing to do it with a handful of mods to see the results.

Biggest thrill for a developer: It works now!
Biggest mystery for a developer: Why doesn't it work now?

Giving Holiday Gift a crack. may take a while depending on how many are left to do.

So I tried the Dibella quest with 6.8.4 and got to the walk in town and the quest would not advance. This is the first time I have had this issue. Also, I am not liking being forced to wear equipped nails taking up my gloves slot. Any fix or work around to either issue?

Just for consistency what would you classify Hair bun as length wise?

Great. I am not sure how much of it is done. Also I don't have a download link for the SE version of the original "Holiday Gift Hairdos.esp".

There is a new version with a "HG Hairdos 2.esp" here, but I didn't check how they are related to each other.

Might need to sort out the different version of HG Hairdos out there first.

In general, these are counted as "ponytail". The corresponding natural hair length must somehow be estimated.

Also, some "strange" hairstyles might better be avoided, e.g. those having lots of weird accessories (big hats etc.), or those with a fixed hair color that cannot be changed.

The "walk in town" part has changed, and actually made easier to advance now. You need to meet specific people, showing a quest marker (to see the quest marker, you need to start the quest anew). Or look in this spoiler:

Spoiler

Nelacar, Ranmir.

Most nails use the gloves slot. For longer nails this makes sense anyway, because there would be clipping when wearing both nails and gloves.

You can use nails with other item slots (see list in mod description; configure them in ypsItems.json: "dibellaquestnailmodelnailshape", "dibellaquestnailmodelnailcolor").

Or use fingerless gloves.

Personally I tend to look closely at them and mentally unravel them to work out how long the longest section of hair would be if it was hanging loose.

Hi @emily1673, new hair problem :/

With the latest update, I seem to be stuck on only getting the hairs in ypsHairDefault.json only - Longer hairs only brings up HairFemaleNord01. It's happened on an existing save and new game.

Edit: Went back to 6.8.4 and got the same. After several reinstalls, suddenly works! False alarm, nothing to see here aka Skyrim being Skyrim...

Okay thats good to know. Been having a guess at the length with them.

Do have both versions luckily. Only have a couple of hairs left to do. Not sure what's different in them either.  Okay so natural hair length.

Yes. The hair length is the actual (unraveled) length of the hair, i.e. how long it has grown. And not how long it shows.

In some hair configuration files it is occasionally understood differently; if you see any oddities, just post it on the forums.

Thank you for helping out!

I've checked again. There are 2 versions of HG hairs:

(1) The original HG hairs. It's esp is named "Holiday Gift Hairdos.esp". Hairstyle names start with "zzSD".

Download link for LE is here. I don't know of any download link for SE (it used to be here).

(2) A newer version. It's esp is named "HG Hairdos 2.esp". Hairstyle names start with "000", "001" or "002".

Download link for both LE and SE is here.

The hairstyles of version (1) are mostly already configured in the file "Holiday Gift Hairdos.esp.json"

The hairstyles of version (2) are not configured at all. So it would be very worthwhile doing them.

Speaking of which I'm workingon a slightly updated/tweaked config for Dint hair pack 2. By "working on" I mean I've tweaked some odd lengths and added a few I wanted but it probably needs a bit more work that I haven't actually done just yet before I can upload it.

can you make Sha's Equipable Hand Nails for the lite version

Creating a lite version is some effort, so I do it only once in a while (not likely to happen the next few months). The full version gets updated much more often.
