this mod is working like that since the beginning.

to change it now would pretty much mean that most of whats already done would have to be rewritten.

 

imo thats pointless - there are plenty of things that could be done / added without rewriting anything or almost anything.

 

Hm, kinda true. And rewriting everything from scratch sounds like some hellish nightmare indeed.

 

Though maybe, once the basic mod's finsihed, add/squeeze some more little quest-like encounters? Special guests now and then visiting maybe...Sexout Soliciting by Odessa comes to my mind here (Fallout NV Mod). And a bit more interaction with Thaena?

For example the dog-aquiting-quest. People are clapping and cheering, but (if actually possible) it would be cool to add comments from them to what they see. Like "Oh, look at this bitch" etc ... same for the parties (which could use some more nudity by the guests ^^), though at least asking them after each act is a nice touch already, but might be even cooler if they comment while the action is on?

I don't know if MBH will do any of that stuff, but I'm working on a few things to liven up my own install of the animal mansion. At least for special guests visiting, and interaction with Thaena. The part about the comments might be far above my skills as a modder.

Yup, that's the plan. It's just down to me writing it.

 

In general, everywhere there can be dialogue, or more dialogue, there will be. So you can imagine how much writing there is to do. Right now, getting the entire mod set up is first priority. Second comes writing tons of dialogue. Such as the commentary you mentioned.

Your Brain Hurts (do I have to change the subject?  :P ), there is any way, you can remove the original problem of this mod that was the ability to speak to all possible creatures?

This breaks a lot of mods.

I think that problem was solved by sky_mds as of version 0.6e (the last version he uploaded). I just ran around trying to talk to vanilla dogs and horse and couldn't talk to any of them.

 

(And no you don't have to change the subject. :lol:)

Does Animal Mansion make any changes to vanilla creatures/races?

 

No. All of the animals used in AM are unique actors based on vanilla creatures. All interactions with AM creatures are controlled via factions and faction ranks applied to those animals. No vanilla animals are in any AM factions.

I love dialogue. When things get repeated or the talk is weak and short its not as much fun to me. I some could think the new conversation between Thaena and Jesper when they meet seems long but omg i think its amazing!!. it brings the characters to life. no longer are they just robots with a few programmed obvious comments. Now they have character and attitude and humour and interest. they are now people, not just NPC's so serve a purpose. :D

 

So yes please to lots and lots of dialogue. Its what makes the mod fun and immersive and addictive.  :)

 

And i will private message you some ideas on dialogue Brains, if it helps .

WOuld it be possible for the parties to start as soon as the guests are invited at the players initiation? SOme people were talking about it in Jmathers thread and the original Animal Mansion thread.

 

I love it when npcs do the dance of joy when they don't want to come to your discusting parties. So fuckin hilarious when the Soiltude horse hostler dances when he tells you to stop.

 

Also I invited 8 guests. 2 of them do not  show up. If my theory holds true, do not invite any generic npcs from mods such as the populated series by relliosavini. The Npcs in question were two generic traveling pilgrims from the Populated Roads Lands Paths. The Named Immersive wenches from the respective namesake were fine though.

Of course it's possible. I just don't understand why standing around waiting for a few seconds is such a huge problem.

The idle associated with those infos is not a dancing idle. I'm going through the mod and getting rid of all of them because that is not what is supposed to happen.

That's interesting. I'll have to see what's going on with the Populated NPCs.

Dialogue is especially important for parties and shows. Because they are repetitive the only thing that can keep them interesting is a lot of dialogue with the player and NPCs.

check the quest aliases if all guestxx aliases are filled.

if these are NPCs coming from some different mod it might be that some other quest is telling those NPCs to do something else. Quest with higher priority wins.

I got a idea, could you add some Bestiality fetish portrait/wallpaper/picture in to the Mansion or just in party room. I think that will make the mansion look nice :D

Thats a nice idea. But use pictures that are lore looking. Not photographs of animal porn off the net or manga pics. :s

 

They would need to look medieval or certainly Skyrim. Maybe some nice well taken screenprint/snapshots from the game. i could take a few that could be used in picture frames in the mansion ... like this one.... ;)  :blush:

Re Populated Lands Roads Paths NPCs: There doesn't seem to be anything special about them. I spot-checked Pilgrims and the only AI package they seem to have is the Default Master Package List. They're not in any factions, no keywords ... nothing. On AM's side, there's no reason I can see why these PLRP NPCs would break a party quest. But it is a resource-heavy mod. Although the NPCs per se may not cause problems the mod itself can definitely slow things down a bit.

 

Re artwork: I'm already doing that. :blush:  They'll be optional. And they have to be paintings. I won't use screen shots because they pretty much look like photographs.

i agree Brains. the more they look like old paintings from the Skyrim Era, the more they will look right ;)  . How will it be optional? in the MCM menu? :-/

 

Yes. People who don't want to see "art" like that, or maybe their computers can't handle the load, can just toggle it on or off.
