Twycross448 Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 @jxm I don't think it is a good idea to use the Jarl as an Antagonist, because the Jarls are tied to the Civil War scenario and can potentially be replaced, depending on player choice (amongst other things). I think it is way better to go with your second idea of introducing a new NPC, be it an old aquaintance of Thaena or maybe an ex-lover or even a sibling who hates her for some reason.. no reason to limit yourself to only males as the antagonist, you know.

A Love and a harder path.The beginnings could be the same and Thaena and PC come closer until Thaena noted that gets fucked on request of the customer the PC. Thaena measure governs it, the PC, the Animal Mansion was no ordinary brothel.The PC does anyway. Thaena is injured and is threatening the PC to report them to the authorities. In revenge, she makes the PC to their forced prostitutes. And so is their pimp. You have to peddle for sex with people and animal shows (the animal shows could be exactly the same in both quest lines), gets no more money and is housed in the animals.Finally, the completely depraved PC could be sold. (Falmer, Necromancer, Vampire?)Excuse my bad english
Teruke Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 I dunno, i enjoyed the mod as it was so far, Thaena and PC relationship, maybe optional in my opinion, i enjoyed more the work relationship and sharing of assets from the mansion between the 2, particularly the troll incident was my cup of tea, since it quickly got out of hand and led to something that wasn't even planned in the first place. More heroines in trouble and having their original plans in disarray is highly welcomed.

Yes, probably true ... sadly he is such a sleazy bastard with so much shady business going on...quite a wasted potential Being a no-modder all I can do however is throwing stuff into the thread and see if Mybrainhurts can salvage anything from it. Or at least ralize what he definatly WON'T do! Which is also okay The problem is of course the mod is already quite developed, and adding more on top of it is probably easier than fiddling stuff right into the middle of it, or changing stuff that works. Though, I remember from an earlier version (sky_mds back then) when we had to negotiate with the Falkreath-Tavernowner, and she also sent some thugs to the Mansion the PC had to dispatch first somehow (cough sex cough). So there were certain elements already in Personally however, I'd prefer a change to the beginning of the mod, because after the stage is set most of the quests that come have no need to be touched upon. So, for example another idea: The whole quest doesn't start in the Mansion, but somewhere else. Maybe a tavern or so, with the new NPC (crime-boss-type, I mean honest business man^^) hiring the PC for some money-extortion-business. I think without such a powerful figure none of the non-consensual ideas would work...He'd tell the story about how he gave this Thaena-girl a lot of money for some enterprise but she never repaid him, and now he wants his money back. Thing is, his "employees" (ugly, brutish hired thugs of course ^^) at the moment have some...trouble with the Hold-Law and so he needs a short-term hireling to talk to Thaena...with a diplomatic touch or brute force, he doesn't care... Then you hear the trouble from Thaena's point of view, how bad a mistake it was to accept the money, how bad business is, how she needs more time and asks you to help her with the crime-boss Returning to the crime-boss with Thaena could replace the caught in the act-scene. Crime-Boss accepts to give Thaena more time, in return for a little "show", as he had heard about Thaena's little hobby - she does as told, PC watches and then my original idea with the Jarl could play out, and the PC is forced to do it as well (or, as an option, could give in willingly, the result being the same of course ^^) Either way, after this there could be a bit more romantic aftershow-meeting with PC and Thaena, where she teaches the PC a bit more and also tells her bit about her past, and the idea how to salvage Thaena's business is born. Of course, with more and more success, the crime-boss could later come into play again (hey, we all have seen Mafia-Movies and know the drill ^^)

The problems is how to "force" a char into this, without nullifying the whole idea/groundwork of the mod, which sky_mds focused on consensual and kinda "friendly". So Thaeana forcing the PC is out of question. But maybe the Jarl of Falkreath (or, if the mansion moves another powerful figure Thaena and the PC have to convince of the Mansion, and who takes advantage of it?" So PC catches Thaena in the act, and instead of just playing along give an option not to fuck the dog. But still the idea to turn it into a business and show it to the sleazy degenerate Jarl comes up, but Thaena goes, and the PC only accompanies her? Then the Jarl, after having enjoyed the show by Thaena, insists that the PC also joins, abusing his power as a Jarl for his own enjoyment. "Fuck the dog, or rot in a cell or worse, your choice, PC". And after this rather unpleasant introduction for the PC into animal-sex the Jarl would be even crueler. He gives the licence and all, but under very strict terms - free shows for himself, with the PC (he gets a kick out of the whole unwilling thing ^^) The idea I was batting around was, if you are reasonably polite to Thaena, you might accept or refuse it, no problem. If your refusal is all "eww sick, I'll report you" or violent etc...well, something happens and you may get to find out ALL about animal sex. This does make Thaena a bit darker, but you only see the dark side if you choose the wrong (or right?) dialogue choices, permitting you to completely experience her as a friend if you choose the other path without ever knowing the dark side is even there. Although, I would at least add some notes or books that would at least indicate the potential for the dark side to exist. And possibly, depending on which Jarl you might want to report to...that might have even worse consequences, because Siddgeir is a Legendary Creeper-Dude. He might have ideas that are so bad that even if Thaena DID force you into this, she might still try to protect you from him...this might set up a way to move it from non-con to con.

I get up to the part where i speak to farkus to start the comp, and he asks me to stand in a specific location - but when i go there, nothing happens, Is there a way to fix this/advance to the next quest stage? Any and all help would be appreciated.

I quite liked seeing Jala go from naive innocent to banging horses for money, even if she was horrendously cheerful and enthusiastic about it. Getting some characters in to work at the manor who don't want to be there but have to be for some reason, whether they need the money or we blackmail them would be fun. Also characters like the Jarl's steward who's always so damn snooty at the start, I'd love to see the Jarl of Falkreath decide he needs his own personal entertainer training up... Thaena could accept this as it wouldn't hurt the animals, herself or her friend. She might not give a damn that someone is essentially forced into it as long as they're not mistreated, she might even like the idea of corrupting someone who would look down on her lifestyle.

I do think the way AM+ is written so far is really good. I like the unplanned relationship that is forming and am anxiously waiting to see where it goes. Also, as jxm said, it kind of goes against the main story intent. I am no modder, but seems like an awful lot of work to re-build the entire beginning. As to the idea of an add-on, which seems more feasible, it could be something like a requested show gone wrong. You get hired to do a show outside the mansion and are abducted by the people you are meant to entertain. There you are forced into a small slavery type scenario. Possibly someone else has been abducted and you are choosing to go along with it in an effort to save them. Things go on for a little bit, then there is the option for you (or both) to escape. Add a small cave or building someplace for the event, added characters. No conflicts with the main story this way, and it won't require a complete re-write of any part(s). brain, whatever way you decide to go, you are doing a great job. I await the next update with great anticipation!

I agree, even if most, if not all of my characters are...well, not pure, but they don't go around banging dogs by choice. That's one reason why I made my idea the way it was, it can be either one, and it can, under certain circumstances, switch from non-con to con. As written, you can play it so you don't even know the other path COULD occur. While one could add dialogues to the non-con that would move it to con at any point, its just that I thought Siddgeir would be a GOOD lever to use to flip it to con.

Animal Mansion when it first came out was always centered at more consensual, and not very dark. So yeah, its the heart of the mod and should stay that way. However, it also makes the mod, at least for me and maybe some other, a tad more difficult to implement into a "normal" playthrough" or its "killing" immersion a bit if the PC just goes "dogs? hell yeah, let 'em mount me!" - without any other option that is... So, all these ideas are, as far as I am concerned at least, ways to make the mod's story maybe a bit more "realistic" in terms of how it starts and, even more important, at least add choices/options in dialogues to reflect different kinds of characters and their attitude to the whole thing. You said it yourself: Options and choices, those are key here

Question is would that be someone forcing you on every step? or would you just be more reluctant so thaena would have to work harder to convince you?

If I understood right, mybrainhurts already covered the reluctant part in the next update, and that would be the ideal for me. By the end, the character wouldn't mind to perform such acts in front of people (she enjoys animal sex but she is too worried about her reputation) since this isn't a slavery mod. I don't have any problems with him adding non consensual stuff if that doesn't remove the 'vanilla' path. I think the trigger part would be the moment the PC discovers about Thaena and Bailey. Everything prior to that doesnt need to be rewritten.

Any and all help would be appreciated. So you see the quest objective marker, go there to take your place but none of the other actors take their place? It can take a while for the girls and wolves to get to their spots depending on how congested that area is. One thing you can try is waiting for an hour, sometimes that helps snap everyone into place. If that doesn't work go to the console and enter "SQS NA_MQ_Wolf" to see what quest stage you're stuck on (it will be the last stage with the number 1 next to it). Then use SetStage on NA_MQ_Wolf to advance to the next stage. ----------------------------------------- Reading some of these comments/ideas leaves me wondering how you all got a hold of my development version! Here are some more details about what I'm doing. As to three big things mentioned above: 1. The Jarl of Falkreath is indeed an asshole. 2. There is a new NPC with a rather dark(ish) side. 3. Thaena will always be a sweetheart. Kinky, but sweet. The idea of corrupting an innocent who is not the player (like Jala) is a good one. I'll do that in the future but it's too complicated to squeeze into this update. I'm barely on track for finishing what I have now on time. The starting quest, up to the point where you get Jesper, is greatly expanded and restructured for role players, as is the dog quest. For example, you can finish the start quest and the dog quest (!) without having sex with anything. Obviously you can't stay in that sex-free state forever so if you do manage to hold out to the bitter end, I have to apply some measures to break you. So yes: it's a matter of Thaena et al having to work harder to get you where you need to be for the rest of the mod. There's a fair amount of noncon/bdsm/mind games in this update applied to "corrupt" reluctant/shy characters but almost all of is driven by dialogue so players can opt in or out as they please. None of it is harsh or brutal in any way and it should be clear from the dialogue what you're getting yourself into. Through it all I've tried to keep it in the lighter style of AM/AMP. The one exception is the moving quest which kicks off with a seriously nonconsensual encounter that cannot be avoided.

I'm not trying to rush you though, just highly anticipating it. Thanks so much for your continued work on this. As much as I like playing a multitude of other mods (and absolutely no disrespect meant towards any other modder intended) this is my favorite.

If I could make a request, I would love to see Thaene have a dialogue for selling for food and drinks to the PC (maybe at a discount, since the PC works there). It think this would fit well with the setting, considering the type of business she runs, and also would help with the "realistic needs"-mod.

Then once the PC manages to escape, and finds her way back to the Animal Mansion, Thaena apologizes profusely, and that she's so glad that the PC is back and safe. Maybe her genuine concern for the PC could be emphasized by telling that she had put out a reward for anyone with information on the PC's whereabouts. Something like that :-)

Both options do not work. If I select the guests myself, no further dialogue option appears when I complete the party preparation. If I don't select the guests, then the dialogue just resets to "lets talk about business".

But I think people would have some trouble completing that mod as opposed to how polished this one currently feels. You're probably right. I managed to get through it relatively easy myself, but I did have to use the console to progress several times. Another downside is that it's a bit of a detour.
