Waaait, are you supposed to only be able to do the tasks once? I can do them infinite times(in v. 1.81). So that's why I couldn't find more ingredients! Which tasks should only be doable a single time?

I'm able to get tasks from Daithe and I was even able to pass the Tunneling part where you make a decision but the messages don't stop scrolling. "Hashep Slave int set to 0" and "Slavejob: I dont have a specific master, I should ask to Daithe".

Grey Cloud Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 I'm stuck with Daithe. She told me to find Thaereg but the marker arrow is still on her and she keeps telling me to get back to work. Tried the left hand debug button in SQ1 but the message flew by too quickly to read, something to do with tasks I think. I've also got a journal entry about talking to the servant.

I had that issue but i noticed that when i saved and reloaded the game, the spam stopped. What wasnt clear though is that the last Hashep quest appears to be the end of the new slave content right now. I was able to progress to the mining quest and on to "the choice" after that with no issues.

I'm stood where the arrow marker (still) is. I'm losing the will to live with all these stoppages.

Grey Cloud Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Stuck again. Tunnelling task is saying mine 40 rubble. I've mined all the veins I can see and have only got 20. Frabbi and Harrold standing around doing nothing and Daithe stood with the marker. None have any dialogue options for the tunnelling gig. Tried using T several times but nothing changes. Edit: Setstaged, yet again, to 40. All hell breaks loose. According to the esp there is a lever somewhere but after running round twice while avoiding centurions, falmers and who knows what I can't find it. Edit: Got myself out of the last mess by doing a tgm and running around until I found the lever. A few other hiccups but have actually managed to play for an hour or so without getting stuck but now stuck again on the lost chaurus task. Found the chaurus but have no idea how I'm supposed to get it back. Can't even use the T key as there is a centurion about two miles above us who is hostile. Setstage here I come again.

Grey Cloud Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 I'm sorry Delzaron but this mod simply does not work. There are too many problems. Map and compass markers, journal entries and dialogue are hopeless - either not there or stuck at the wrong place or actor. I'm currently doing the deliveries job and have a journal entry that says go to the Falkreath outpost. I followed the compass marker and it has brought me out at Rorikstead. I seem to be spending more time either in TES5Edit, checking this thread, standing around pressing T or using the console than I am actually achieving anything in the game.

The small world makes the quest markers going mad : you simply can use them... ans there is nothing I can do about that. AFS have the same problem, but reduced (small world is smaller, only 3 exit. TID is large as half of blackreach, and have 6 exits). The only way you can is using the texts. setstage the problematic stages for now, and note where are the problems... I will see if I can reduce the number of exits, maybe it will fix a part of the problem.

bicobus Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 A way to reduce the compass issues would be to create a "fast travel mechanic" and get rid of the layers of tunnels between the outside world and Ibn. It would cut off a bit from the immersion, but it would create a decisive improvement of quality of play. The tunnels aren't really needed in normal play, and if you have a scenario that involve some you can always create them for that purpose. In essence: cut the steps and remain stupid, simple. Here the KISS principle should be applied from a player point of view. You said yourself that TiD got too big and bloated, in fact it became way too complex. Too many parts and too many locations. The base story is interesting, take it and get rid of all the necessary parts. Same with Ibn. Same with quests. You have interesting NPC, ones that does experiments and all, but they're not all necessary for your story. You can take the TES games as an example: the world bethesda created are small. There are a limited amount of NPC, most of them are meaningless to the player. The cities are more of a commune (groups of people behind a wall) than a proper city. I mean look at the farms, they're tiny! There are vast amount of free arable land that isn't being exploited... And that my friend is because of game design. You have books everywhere, but no printing house. You have 3 children per "cities", even though there are ten times more adults. No school, how did the nobles learned to read and write? There are a ton of details that went down the drain, to keep the world as simple and stupid as it can be. It looks big and complex, but it isn't. Or at least, it is not as it could have been. In reality, in a medieval world like skyrim, you should drown in peasants. They should be everywhere, tending their farms. And you should have land cultivated everywhere but the forests. Now I know it's a bit hard. You want to finish this mod and move on, and I understand. There is no shame in calling in quits on the mod either. You worked on TiD for quite a long time and you also learned a lot from it. That's how we improve: by doing mistakes. Now I am not saying you should stop trying to mend the issues in TiD, just to keep the possibility to abandon alive. It's alright, you have plenty of other mods and stories to work on. And maybe you'll get back to a "Thing in the Darks: the revenge of the zombie mod 2" in the future. I said it after I finished my playthrough, Grey Cloud came to the same conclusion: we spend too much time troubleshooting issues to enjoy the story. I whish I had the answers, but all I can think about are the shadoks: Ce n'est qu'en essayant continuellement que l'on finit par réussir.

The tunnel system can be easily reduced : for example, I designed spells to fast travel (3 in TID, 10 in AFS...). I could use also the big brood statues as teleporters : player click on the statue, and a message will ask where player wants to go... and it will be teleport player to another statue (after all, falmers works too, the player is not alone in Ibn). The small world reduction are story rewriting will help me to identify the most useless NPC and zones : i will delete them. I think also to fusion som cells : we don't need an animonculry and a weapon factory, they can be both in the same cell. Note : I installed mods to populate skyrim (so, more people and kids), adding more farms, and schools !
Grey Cloud Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Delzaron, I was thinking last night about the number of exits from Ibn. Could you not have one exit and use a 'where do you want to go' menu similar to the one used by the carriage drivers? Good post by bicobus. If you were conducting a scientific experiment you would begin with a limited scope until you were satisfied that your methodology was sound. Then you would extend the scope of your experiment. You do not start with an ambitious scope and then try to finesse your methodology to make it work. In terms of imagination and originality, TID is one of the best out there.

Yes, the carriage stuff is one of the best options... TID is a good mod, but have lot of problems.. it's already contains all the functions I want, and I will not design others... Simplication is the key (I replaced the honey pot dialogues lines by a spell, for example)...

Grey Cloud Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 Delzaron, I've been given the Markarth jobs. First involves Cidhna Mine and the second Calcelmo. I'm guessing that the first will screw up Devious Cidhna and the second is related to the Dibella/Mara quests, in which case it will conflict with another mod, Book of Sex (and possibly Dibella Sisterhood). Managed to muddle my way through the above by a combination of setstage, guesswork and much swearing. Progressed quite well but now stuck. I'm supposed to find Sybil the courtesan. Map marker led me out of Iron wotsit house and out of Markarth and is now pointing at somewhere up in the mountains near Bilegulch Mine (again). Searched this thread and Sybil is either the Sybil from the temple of Dibella or Sybil Stentor in Solitude. Who and where is the Sybil I need. Not really enjoying this mod as I'm too busy watching and waiting for the next problem to get involved in it. I'm starting to get the hang of this mod. I only needed the guesswork and the swearing to find Sybil. Now having trouble with the second enslavement spell on the woman with a name beginning with A. She has resisted about 20 shots of it. Looks like a job for setstage. Spoke too soon. Took two setstages and much swearing. The enslavement spell knocks them down and they don't seem to recover. The honeypot wouldn't work on Adina(?) but worked on Mai the knight. Mai the knight wont follow, she just stands there, or lies there if I use the enslvement spell. There is no 'follow me' dialogue or anything similar. So I am going to have to setstage again. Am I doing something fundamentally wrong here or is this mod far, far from playable? Has anyone ever played it through with only a few glitches?

Hi,I want to break a spear in favour of Delzaron, yes this mod has a lot of issues and bugs but I didn't meet all your problems or which other players met..I think is important to report but sometimes we could able to find solution by ourself, the worst is about follows compass and point makers without reading the sentences in the Ibn world, setstaging is usefull knowing that Delzaron is trying to fix,and surely this mod is complex and some things are useless but like you and others I think that's growing with a great potential. I met problems using spells, spoiler(honey pot spell on Adima for es.) that not always work so if an actor has to follow you in a certain location often she doesn't or lever that puts you in a boring loop..spoiler(shadow cave) Avoiding the beginning and some parts during the player slavery and jobs for Hashep(servant's life),the core quest runs without big issues and there's so much to play, actually I'm playing atid2raider2 maybe it's better installing this mod after to have made the vanilla quests to avoid conflicts, I don't sure but it was what I've done Anyway, while I'm posting this I'm playing so I don't know if someone has just answear to your last question..the Sybill you looking for is Sybill the sweet and she is inside the auction hall. waiting for the new and fixed version..cheers

Glad it wasn't just me who had a problem with the shadow cave loop. I thought I was going mad there, couldn't figure out what was happening. I'm on raider1 and stuck with Mai not moving, so looks like setstage again. I still think it's a great story and concept, if I didn't I would be long gone.

About Mai,this is what I made:after enslaving her,I have tried the two spells(enslave and Honey pot)actually I don't know which worked then I went to the auction house and spoke to Lleevu, there's a line speaking to train Mai by Henry, she's not here but diary updated so I've gone to Henry and I used a placeatme so I could spawn a copy continuing the quest, waiting then I went to Elindil, now there was two copy of Mai,deleted the wrong, setstage and the sex scene begun and everything went good 'till the end of the quest...try and we'll speak about the new quest bye
