Sexlab Deadly Drain

good i'm not the only one with FPS drops with this mod.

Here is how it goes:

 

Mod installed, even activated, and no fps drops, i have nice fps and no lags of any kind. The funny part starts after i give my PC ability to drain and use it with Alt. It taks just 1 time to trigger chain event of fps drop. The drop ocures after some time, so you will not notice at first, but after ... hmm dunno i think 1h.

Funny thing is, fps drops even more within interiors with drouger, like dungeons and is constant from the moment you enter the dungeon. Other thing is that, when i go to 3rd person view i have more fps drop ( note that this is not happening without this mod ).

 

someting is not right here, could be something more then this mod, i have proper loadorder and all other stuff setup well, so i have no idea.

 

Right now, setting the effects level to 1 or 2 seems to be a work around. Hoenheim is going to look into it as soon as he can.

I notice that when i use bow to aim with arrow ( hold mouse ) all fps returns to normal o_o  but when holstered all is bad again.

Manual drain can kill you probably just missed a setting somewhere

 

I know it should kill, and I have the hotkeys to enable drain to kill, and I can hit that during a sex scene, and get the message that I decide to drain my victim to death.  I hit the manual drain key, and I see the red cloud and hear the draining sound effect, but then the NPC doesn't die at the end.

 

Do I need to hit the key and drain several times? I only see one drain event when the auto drain and kill happens. I can set it so that I auto drain on orgasm, and then hit the kill hotkey, and kill the mob that way.  That does lead to NPCs staggering after sex if not killed though. (But not all of them. Difference in how much health they have?)

same problem here I can't manually drain people to death manually, automatic works fine though. I configured sexlab and deadly drain as advised on the first page but no result (also tried to tick/untick all options). I have the message, the visual effect but in the end nothing happens.

My other sexlab related mods installed are amorous adventures, sexlab solutions, sexlab aroused redux and lovers comfort. Thus I don't see what could be interfering.

 

Still a great mod, everything else works flawlessly and I enjoyed the first time I saw the "draugr effect", really brilliant.

ok, so i found something intresting about perma FPS drop after some time spent with the game.

The thing with the Bow-aiming is a good thing if you are Bow user but it sucks when you are mage or fighter. So i was looking for some solutions and ... with new XPMSE skeleton there is fix for Vampire Lord skeleton (dont use others).

 

Now with this new skeleton after reverting from transformation and remaining in 3rd person view i have normal FPS just like from fresh game start (during transformation too). Just like during Bow-aiming.

Sadly when you go 1st person view it's back to broken FPS "bug".

Saveing and loading while in 3rd person view brakes the fix too :<

 

i'm no expert but it looks like some kind of skeleton bug. or something related to skeleton.

I dunno, we've done a lot of testing on this and I've changed skeleton at least twice since I started noticing this bug without ever seeing any difference in behaviour. I'm pretty sure it's actually some persistent visual effect bug that gets stuck on the character after each drain. 

 

I can see transforming to vamp lord and back maybe 'refreshing' your character model and effects temporarily, which are then reapplied next time you re-render your character. (Like when you go into and out of first person) It's the same if you use the console to change race or gender, the FPS returns to normal until you change views again. 

 

The effects being the problem makes sense, since it seems you can stop the issue from happening by setting the effects to 1 or 2 before ever using the drain. Not sure yet if there's a way to fix a save that has already been affected, unless the stuck effects can be dispelled somehow. (I think someone said earlier in the thread they managed this but it didn't seem to work for anyone else)

It's not related to the skeleton. The reason your FPS returned to normal is because any racial or gender change will return 3rd person FPS to normal levels until you go back into 1st person. That's long been known. However, if it was the skeleton, then reducing the effects level to 1 would not correct the issue. I now have a character with around 40 hours on it and more drains than I can count with no FPS loss AFTER setting the effects level to 1. So rather than a skeleton, a shader or magic effect building up on the character seems to me to be the most likely cause of the issue.

Would it be possible for the auto drain function to kill only enemies? Cause if I use the deadly drain with mods like reward your followers it kills my followers.

It doesn't seem to have any sense of friend/foe, but there is the toggle key to allow it to kill / not kill.

 

i'd suggest leaving it to auto drain as you have it, and turn off the always killing options, and then just hit the key if you're being raped by an enemy or whatnot.

Read up on your comments now guys, I'm still pretty sure it's related to one of the Shadereffets stacking up. Makes sense that when the rendering changes in some ways it would return the FPS to normal for a while until that shader stack gets reloaded.

Man this is an awesome mod! I would love to have it reversed where the player can be the victim to Succubi; to death or kept alive as a slave to drain.

it works like that too With the extra spells you can give drain powers to anyone and then fuck them and let them drain you. ^^

hmm, i had little better fps with that Effect 1 setting. BUT i had another problem with my last 2 characters that i had to delete saves after that...

 

I had freez after some time spent playing, after that i was unable to load any save with exactly that character. no matter the save. other character saves worked. Had to use backups eventually but the same thing happend again, always with this mod working and with PC haveing drain power.

 

Buuut i had save count like 6k+ so now i whiped save folder and started over with this mod but without drain power and i had freez in about after same time spent in game but this time i was able to load the game.

 

It looks strange if you think about it. It looked like save corruption but it was affecting not just 1 but all saves related to that character, looks like skse thing cus it saves stuff related to character in save folder too.(im 100% sure all saves went bad, could not load any after fresh game, tried more then 3 Times with all of them).

 

i have skse 1.7.2.

I can confirm that this mod drops fps after using the drain button.. after i used the drain button if i zoom in my character it drops 40 fps.. if i use showracemenu switch to different race and back and load my preset character it is gone untill i zoom rly close to my character again and it starts lagging.. when i load a save before the drain i dont have any lag when zooming in my character.. also seen other posts that can confirm this.

 

Hope u can fix this because i rly like your mod since im playing a succubus race.

Really cool mod, Hoenheim. Makes playing my vampire characters all the more interesting!

 

I have a question regarding some of the utility spells however. Hypnotize seems to function as a calm spell but the Enslave, Give Drain Powers and Drain Slave spells don't seem to have any effect. Are they dependent on having another mod installed or am I missing something?

So this is weird... I had to reset sexlab, and now only automatic drain is working. I can't drain manually, and I can't drain to death. I tried reloading the mod, but nada.
