fallenmystic Posted January 24, 2016 Author Posted January 24, 2016 I really don't know how to say this in any less disappointing manner, so I'll just announce it first: I decided to stop working on this mod, and waiver any right I have on the source material so that it can be picked up by anyone who wants to continue the work. You don't need to ask my permission to modify and distribute this mod, and I encourage anyone interested to take over the project. In short, Slaves of Tamriel is no longer actively maintained by myself, and in need for a new maintainer. I believe I owe you an explanation and apology, as I know there are many people who have been patiently waiting for the new version. So, I'll try to do that if it can make you feel any better. First of all, I'm really sorry that I have waited so long before I had to announce this. But the only reason why I did it was that I really hated to give up on this project, so I tried hard to keep going on as far as I could. Shortly after the first release of this mod, there was an important adjustment in my real life which took away most of my leisure time which made me stop playing Skyrim completely. I managed to release couple more versions after that by occasionally working on weekends. But after the last release, my schedule became even more tighter so I often found myself too tired to work on weekends. Maybe I realized that I wouldn't be able to finish this mod at this time, but I didn't want to accept that. This year, I spent couple more of my weekends on this mod, but I got frustrated when I couldn't make much progress while most of my time being wasted to find workarounds for many inconsistencies and issues inherent in the platform itself. As I stopped playing Skyrim long ago, and now modding it became a frustrating job rather than an entertainment, I realized it's time to stop. Before I go, I wish to express my gratitude for everyone who has shown interest in this project and encouraged me to keep on working so far, and my sincere apology for anyone who might have waited so long for the new version, only to be disappointed by this announcement. As I don't play or mod Skyrim anymore, I doubt I would frequent this board anymore, but if there's anyone who's willing to take over this mod and have any questions about it, please send me a personal message then I'll try to help as best as I can. I didn't expect them when I visited this thread again to see if there's anyone who's interested in taking over this project. I'll periodically check in and try to answer any questions from now on. It's normal, as with the latest version I introduced the skill tree for mining which makes it almost impossible mine any ore without leveling up. The intention was let the player punished the first couple of shifts for not being able to mine anything, and let one starve in the day until one will improve as time goes by. Once you mine one ore it will become easier, but as we don't have daily cycle implemented yet it's practically impossible to mine any ore (but the ore you're mining keeps the amount of work you have done on it) for now. It won't start me in the mines or the quest, in Live another Life I have Simple Slavery and have Slaves of Tamriel only checked off, I sleep than it just spawns me in the jail room with the statue of mara gone and the bed. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME IN DETAIL WHAT TO DO EDIT: Ok so I managed to spawn into the mine but now every time I spawn after about 2 seconds it takes me back to the Live another Life prison. Try to finish the LAL quest first by selecting any of the options it provides first. I usually start with the 'patron of an inn' option and then start the main quest of this mod.

While it may seems academic to some, with the only way to start the mod is via the MCM, there's no reason to think (to me) that one starts a game via Mara, then starts the mod. A few super nit-picky observations so far: - Ore is singular and plural...there is no "ores". - Cattle is plural, no "cattles". - I can't seem to sit down when in my cell. "Q" doesn't work with my key-mapping (normally my jump), so...??? (pinkpunkt any help? ) - Can the cell guard's speed be slowed to 1/2 or 1/4 of what it currently is? Makes me tired watching him pace back and forth...and I'm sitting LOL! Besides, most people would become "lazy" with that job and would after a while and would just shuffle around. The guard has too much "enthusiasm". - I realize this is only an alpha, but after day 1, is that the end? The guard(s) doesn't seem to come back to (re)start a new day of mining or am I missing something? Anyway - SOT, you've obviously put a lot of hard work into this just to "let it go". My 2 cents.

No, my normal jump is "q" and with the mod, nothing happens. No biggie really. Yeah, I came to the conclusion that the mod ended. after feeding. Although there isn't a whole lot to it (yet), I found it quite good and very well done. Hope SOT reconsiders or whomever picks this up, continues it in the same high level it currently is.

Please let me know if you have any questions, as I'm more than willing to help you with that if you want. I feel guilty that I couldn't have made my scripts much readable or manageable, as I was always very short on time. But personally, writing scripts was the least problematic part for working on this mod, so I think there's a good chance that you might figure them out pretty fast also

Delzaron, you taking on Slaves of Tamriel, would be a dream come true. The scripting looks very complex, but you have the perseverance and the enthusiasm to, at least, properly wrap up what is already done. (ie creating a way to enter and escape the mine).
Hæretic Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 I am looking at it in the ck right now and do understand the structure for the most part. the one thing i would work on first would be a daily cycle. the problem is almost everything is done in scenes, a part of the ck i dont know much about. can you tell me what starts the scenes? i looked through the SLTMinequestscript but couldnt find a part that Handles scenes. i only need to know how they get triggered and make a new one to get them all out of the cells and back into the mine again. then at least a basic cycle is in place.
