KiWolfGirl Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 oh noooooooooooo did i remember you at one point saying you would have an option to choose voices for the race?
Subject2Host Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 Do you need volunteers for voices? Yesss... I need male voices, I already have a lovely female voice actor lined up, but I need a few boys. I'd ideally like to make the standard player voice type, and then the basic dialogue for 4 NPCs. I'm also rubbish at actually scripting and making NPCs, so if anyone is experienced in writing dialogue and building NPCs let me know! I'm good with the pretty stuff but I'm sucky at making memorable personalities and implementing them in CK. I can't script, such as make dialogue do stuff, but I can definitely write dialogue. I'm a semi-experienced author. I also have an expensive mic, so I could do high quality recordings, but I'm not entirely sure if I can make the right voices. I can voice act, sure, but most accents aren't my forte. My voice also tends to be a bit short of gruff as most voices in Skyrim are, so I might not fit the bill in that respect. I can try though. If you gave me some sample scripts and maybe a voice type you're shooting for, I could give it a shot.

Young sounding male voice isn't a problem, since it would fit the young male bard character Eyolf. I imagine him with a voice similar to Garrick from Baldurs gate. (He's very naive and a fair bit 'thick')
Taven Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 I meant to say I do at least have a mic that's attached to my headset, and my voice is kinda like a younger, smoother sounding Farkas.(I forgot what voice set that was called) Would you like us to send you a voice sample of saying something, and if so, where do we send it?

If you (or anyone else) want to help out with writing dialogue for some of the characters that would be amazing, you'd get full credits for the character on the upload page too. I have maybe only a paragraph of backstory for each character so far, and no dialogue written for any encounters yet. While I don't think they will be as involved as Sophia or Inigo, I'd like to make them more than just 5 or so lines of boring dialogue. Replacing the entire race specific voice type is going to be a challenge though it will probably get released as an update later down the track. For now I'll be just using a duplicated version of the male even toned/female even toned with some canine whines and barks replacing the grunts and groans. I'm more focused on getting the NPC's sorted to start with, since they will be doing more talking than the player character anyway. A gruff male voice would be useful and there is no need to worry about accents. I'm thinking of having the Lykaios race with a more basic English or Americanized (maybe some Australian in there if my own isn't too horrible) voice type since they are wanderers and not native to skyrim they don't need to fit the 'nord' accent. I also want to avoid them sounding anything even close to Khajiit since I want to avoid racist stereotypes. You'd probably suit Mánagarmr (see below), He's a battled hardened bandit/werewolf character who doesn't say much. He's an older Lykaios who's very bitter with the world, so the grouchier and grumpier you can sound the better. The S scar on his forehead is marking him as a werewolf (shamed), and therefore banished from his pack (and any future one he may seek to join) for ever.

It can be both really low and awkwardly high. I could probably voice him, but it could take a while to get it right. Plus I'd need to strain my voice prior to get the gruffness you want. But anyway, yes I could write dialogue and back story for you. I would just need general instructions on the kind of theme you're shooting for.

If anyone has a voice/recording quality sample just put it on a private-youtube/dropbox and inbox me the link in PM. I'm going for clarity of recording, not a particular sound of voice so all voice types are welcome. You just need to sound convincing! Don't try add in any accents unless they are your natural ones or you can carry them off well. (I suck at fake accents) maybe read out the 'I used to be an adventure like you, then I took an arrow to the knee' line for lols You're all awesome

This is what I have so far for introductions and follower quests. Some of it might not be do-able but its a start! Eyolf SettingSun And Ylva RisingMoon - Brother and Sister fraternal twins. Eyolf is an archer/Bard, Ylva is is a rouge/Illusion spellcaster. Eyolf SettingSun - born in the Last light of the day - Male, fair red Golden fur Ylva RisingMoon - Born at the begining of the night on a rising full moon - Female, Moon grey and white. A young sibling pair on their first Spirit journey away from the Pack. Born of a difficult labour which cost the life of their mother Gledi the packs Alpha female. Like the time of their birth the personalities of these twins are night and day; Eyolf is friendly, boisterous and dumb as a bag of nails; whereas Ylva is intelligent, reserved and mysterious (well on her way to joining the dark brotherhood, maybe a side quest?). The pair can be found in taverns where the oblivious Eyolf displays his speech-craft and bardic skills for gold, and the stealthy Ylva takes advantage of the distraction to lighten the pockets of the other patrons. Ylva has been known to seduce or lure away particularly wealthy targets to secluded spots, before leaving them bruised (sometimes dead) and a lot less wealthy. Ylva can be very charming when she wants to be, but once her cover is blown she is totally ruthless. Poor simple Eyolf has no idea what his Sister does while he is busy entertaining a crowd and often wonders why they are frequently chased out of town by angry locals. Eyolf fails to see his sisters flaws and is fiercely protective of his 'innocent' little sister. If its possible I'd like them to move from tavern to tavern much like the Khajiit caravan pops up in different places, you'll never know where they are going to be in Skyrim. Side quests: Ylva dark brotherhood/thieves guild side quest? I'd like to script some interactions which take place if Ylva is in your company when you first encounter either of these factions. not sure what just yet. Eyolf bards guild quest? Still no ideas on what will happen with this. Mánagarmr Moonstalker (The banished) - Male, Tawny/brown. Two handed Warrior/Werewolf Mánagarmr is a heavily scarred, middle aged wolf with no pack. As a young warrior wolf on his first spirit journey away from the pack, he encountered and fell in love with a female werewolf. In his passion he demanded to be turned in order to experience the full blood-lust of the hunt with his beloved. On their first shift together they attacked an Imperial outpost and his love was slain, leaving him to mourn her death and return to his family Pack. Upon his return, the Pack Vizenvulf could smell the change on the young warrior and banished him for choosing to taint himself with lycanthropy. Before his exile the young Mánagarmr was severely beaten almost to the point of death by the entire tribe for his folly, the Visenvulf then marking him (through ritual scarring) as ūtlagr among the all tribes. Due to his shame Mánagarmr avoids contact with other Lykaios, instead preferring the company of bandits, thieves and murderers who ask no questions of his past or scars. I have someone working on some script for this side quest, , the plan is if you haven't completed the companions quest and you have Mánagarmr with you there is an option to cure Mánagarmr allowing him the possibility of re-uniting with his pack. After he is 'cured' he becomes just a standard follower and can be sent back to a tavern where he will wait for you. You meet Mánagarmr when he tries to rob you in the wilds (if you approach him that is, you can choose to walk on by when he tries to engage you). He demands all your valuables or your life, but he realizes you have more stashed elsewhere and decides to follow you until you come up with more gold (this scenario you keep all your belongings since he figures it saves him having to carry it all) . If you reject him then he will take what you have on you and vow to come and find you within the month if you don't meet him with your remaining cash, he will then return to a particular tavern and wait for you to come find him. If you don't he will keep your equipment and there will be an encounter after one game month passes where he will show up and you can either let him join you as a follower or kill him for good. As a follower he constantly bring mentions that he owns you, and calls you his pack mule or meal ticket. Eventually you can get him talking about his past, but he's often gruff and breaks off the conversation. As a follower if you fail to complete his follower ques and dismiss him you will start the 'one month' of waiting for him to find you. At any point during that month he will become your follower again and the timer will stop. Žvoruna The Vengeful - Female, Black/Grey - Archer/ Huntress. Žvoruna is the last remaining member of her pack, who were slain by a group of the Silver hand mistaking their tribe for Lycanthropes. Only a small pup at the time of the attack, Žvoruna managed to hide under the bodies of her parents and escape death. After many years living alone in the wilds of skyrim and learning the way of the hunter, She has now devoted her life to finding and destroying those responsible for the murder of her Kin. You come across her totally owning a group of silver hand thugs in the wilds, and start up a conversation where you can ask her to join you. Side quest to destroy some silver hand hideout and track down the leader who killed her family.
Shadowscale Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Thieves guild would likely frown on her leaving her marks dead while Dark Brotherhood wouldn't care too much (unless you steal one of the kills they were contracted to do). So she'd likely fit into the Dark Brotherhood better. Perhaps her brother could get a similar quest to join the Bard's College.

Writing the dialogue for every one of these guys would take a long time, especially for someone in college like me. I've got summer coming up, so I should be able to get a decent amount done then, but it might take a while longer to do all of it. I'll focus on Managarmr for now.
criswolf09 Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Hello Kritta, glad to see more updates! I have a question, in the future, will these followers be marriable?
Alvos Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 When the Mod is finished, will there also be a Version in steam-workshop?
krittakitty Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 When the Mod is finished, will there also be a Version in steam-workshop? Not it won't be released on steam, It will be on LL and nexus only. Hello Kritta, glad to see more updates! I have a question, in the future, will these followers be marriable? Yep, that's the plan for most (probably all) of them.

Pantheress Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Wow, that's quite a lot of stuff you've got planned! I wish there was some way I could help, but unfortunately I don't have any experience writing dialogues.
Taven Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Could there possibly be a vampire lykaios follower? I had an idea for a backstory for one, but now it's heavily fragmented in my memory..><
Taven Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 How's the first version of the update coming along? I'm sorry, but at the moment I'm kind of a mind of the guy above me, a bit hyped. xD
whitenoiz12 Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Dear KrittaKitty If you are still looking for voice actors, I would like apply for a part. I haven't done any previous voice over or character vocal work, but I have voiced vocal synthesis banks (UTAU). Some bullet points about me: 18 years old From SE England Very weak British accent Average vocal range D#3 - E3 Recommended range C3 - A3 Mid-range nasally voice Record equipment/software: Blue Yeti pro w/ pop filter Audacity (willing to use other recording programs) 48000Hz Sampling rate OS:Windows 7 x64 I would record a demo reel now, but I'm currently fighting off a cold, thus my voice keeps breaking, as soon as my cold clears up, I'll record one of the default Skyrim voice set scripts and append it here. Until then all I have as an example is a cover of a Japanese song using my UTAU's vocals: https://soundcloud.com/arcticfoxxxx/utau-awakening-of-beast-soul-tatsuya-yoshioka-vcv Thank you for your time. krittakitty Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Its going ok! Yay! I've gotten the male expressions and chargen tri files mostly working in game, just need to test out their range of facial animation in game play and make sure there is no excessively bad clipping on face morphs. I must say its looking good so far! Next step is to conformulate all the hair and beards! then it's getting very close to being released for testing... Woot. Kritta, If you need someone to run tests on whether or not it works, let me know--when its ready for testing, obviously. I've got plenty of free time, and some experience in testing mods both alone and to determine functionality with other mods.

zautharida Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 This is cool and all but its taking a long time. I just like the SOS to work on the Lykaios. Is there a way to make that happen? As it is, you can force SOS on the actor now but the textures will be for Khajiit. You said it can be force but I have no clue how it can. I cant find any instructions on adding SOS to a custom race

I cant find any instructions on adding SOS to a custom race you have to do it under the SOS mcm, make sure you have your actor targeted if its an NPC and then select the addon you want to use.
