Unfortunately, I have to agree with both of you.  Contradictory yes, but also no.  Easy enough to say both, but when you find that you're putting "the wrong" type of effort (translation: money, that is, the representation of your time, in addition to your time, compounding the problem) into the wrong type of person (as Mr. Otaku pointed out), you're going to fail, every time.  However:

I've watched as women I thought were decent choices at the time turn out to be horrible people years later.  Pretty on the outside, ugly on the inside.  I've also watched as women I literally grew up with so I KNOW they were raised right ended up jumping off the deep end as soon as they hit puberty and discovered that they could cash in on their sexuality.  Sex with everyone, WHOO HOO!  But then... "The past doesn't matter!"  One of them said exactly that to me.  Welp, I'm glad her husband's okay with her past actions. I sure wouldn't be.  Along the same line, I've heard of men who knew their wife was literally a former prostitute say that they're okay with it.  "That was then and this is now."  All I can feel for those guys is pity.  They're simply the provider, while she "had her fun".  I guess I find it almost impossible to believe that life for a woman can get so bad that she feels she has no other option but to cash in on sex.  Mostly because I know the dangers, and personally don't think any amount of money worth risking those dangers.  Random individual?  Get the fuck out!

As some have pointed out to me, 'there are no guarantees'.  They're absolutely correct in that, and the likelihood of a particular individual following the crowd, going with herd mentality, etc., even if the herd is busy heading for a cliff, well, that likelihood is really, REALLY, high in this society today.

Rant:  Watching opportunities slip though my fingers due to other's restrictions on what they allow me to do, or more to the point, when.  Damn it, I needed to get in a week ago when the opportunity was right!  This timeI have to wait is killing the opportunity!  As I watch, and calculate, and see what it COULD have done for me.  Grumble.  Oh well.  There will be other opportunities.  I have to get my mindset right if I'm going to make a go at this.

Well, yeah, if all you're after is sex just for sex's sake.  But then you have to be double careful because she knows she's running out of time, and could easily decide to do things without your knowledge to increase the likelihood of a child resulting.

Or, you could go with younger ones.  Yes, they'll be more expensive, but also less likely to be thinking "BABIES!!!", like the older ones are.  I've had a female admit to me that it really is (was, for her) like a "baby switch" at 27 or so.  Biology doesn't knock, it takes a battering ram and smashes the door down.  But in her words "I was fortunate, as I had a man."  And she now has two kids.

Really now? You do huh? The more i read your posts the more it reminds me of my catastrophic "redpill" slump two years ago. I wasn't planning on making a response here but since you mentioned me in your post and i caught this line i feel compelled to. Because instead of focusing on knowing each other people focus on trying to make a relationship. These same stories are abundant from the women's side as well where their husbands/boyfriends turned into a different person all of a sudden.

I guess i should blame society for not teaching more relationship things to the young ones but with little observation this is far too clear. You're supposed to "have fun", both the men and women. You're supposed to test waters and explore, then settle when you've gained experience and those that do avoid many complications that arise in relationships that appear to be "pure", for example, becoming sexless in 10 years.

 

Some of the best relationships appear between people who didn't take their relationship too seriously at first. The reason? When someone's not in "relationship mode" they show many more aspects of themselves and over time it becomes clear what someone's really like. Relationships are far simpler once you have your priorities straightened and perspectives grounded.

The only appropriate answer is for folks to refuse to watch it if they think it is nonsense.  If folks will do this, they will eventually give up.  Studio's can't take loss after loss forever.   

Don't get me wrong, I'm perfectly fine with them choosing an all black cast and making a show, I just won't watch it.  I don't watch empire either.  Neither clearly are made for me.

I also don't think everything "has" to be perfectly historically accurate either.  But switching gender and race "just cause" are not something I'm much interested in.  Perhaps others are and that is fine.  It isn't all about me after all.  But i get to choose what I will and won't support.  No one gets any say on that, just as I don't get to pick for others.  Do what makes sense to you.

To make sure I cover all the bases marriage and child custody is stupid. I will admit that Parents arguing over who gets the brat tickles my funny bone but now I'm just rambling. I have read that courts tend to favor the mother in child custody cases. I didn't do much research into this as marriage is an outdated construct anyway.

 

As for many things like feminism they can be traced back to history where fathers would reject you or even kill you for even suggesting to marry their daughters. Nowadays it is the daughters doing the rejection. Don't worry though. Teenagers will figure it out eventually.

 

One concern I have is that women are overall better looking than men so if humanity wants a fair court system they should avoid biases as much as possible.

 

I know that avoiding biased groups will be impossible. For example the #MeToo or the Black Lives Matter movement is either going to stay or it is going to be replaced because that is politics in a nutshell. There will always be a need for specialists and those two fit the niche.

 

What do you think? Do you think there is somebody out there who can support equality for all and somehow sort out all the legal jargon?

What I don't quite get is how self-defeating all of this is. Doing a black fiction version of history could be cool on its own, but they often go a step further and remove the fiction and try to sell it as history. But then the question arises: If black people were in power and prevalent throughout european history since the ancient greeks, how exactly does that fit with the 'white colonialism' narrative? Either you can say that white europeans were colonizers or that white europeans are trying to whitewash european history, you can't have both. It's one or the other.
