I guess if I'm going to go back and re-do Ysolda I should also go back and re-do Annekke and Sylgja.

And now I guess I need to rethink Dawnguard - an expansion that's supposed to be darker, what with the Molag Bal ritual and the vampires and dead bodies everywhere.  Just have to figure a way to squeeze more cute puppies and sunshine into that.

On the plus side, nobody's ever got on me about what happened with Aerin,.. yet.

No,no,no, please don't redo anything. We just want more content, the rest is super fine :sleepy:

I never had the slightest issue with the Dibella quest. The Ysolda one I thought was hilarious right the way through, especially the reactions of the guys you talk to when the subject of the tusk comes up :P If I'm honest I was initially taken a bit by surprise at the ending, but I'm not always the sharpest tool in the box and certainly her reaction after cleared it up for me. I really wouldn't make too many changes to that. Generally speaking, if everything about a thing is sunshine and puppies that thing can get boring. If you really wanted to change it a single extra line from Ysolda about how she secretly yearns to be "punished" for being a bad girl, and/or a PC line showing a realisation of that fact (with her giggling or something) would be more than enough.

I can't remember the exact dialogue, but you could even include a descriptor before the line you're supposed to say to her and there wouldn't be any doubt what was happening. So something like:

[roleplay] I'm going to blackmail you for sex now...

Not very subtle, perhaps, but it gets the message across.

I agree with the last comments. Do the stories the way you want to do them. As long as they are consistent and fits with the vanilla npc behavior, any direction you take should be fine.

And, of course, some NPC had so little background that allow you to play with them in surprising ways (as Ysolda's case), but I think that's a good thing.

Anyway, I bow before you again. I'm awaiting for Serana's story to play again Dawnguard.

Foxy, it's not your fault, actually I like darker stories ( and probably most of us on LL, that's why we are here )and Ysolda was fine. But some whining you hear it's price of fame. You mod creates some uproar outside of LL in part thanks to Shinji and some of these new comers expect some more sugar coated romance/ stories...you can either f... Them or cater to them either way I love man( or ma'am )

Please don't turn AA into my little pony fox.

I really like the way you do things, like, REALLY like it.

You have a talent for storytelling, don't waste it because of a few...

I probably should've posted some time ago, but the discussion about Ysolda finally got me interested in jumping in.  This mod was one of the additions to my last Skyrim playthrough a few weeks ago.  I haven't seen all of its content, but I did finish the majority of it, namely all of Riverwood, Whiterun, Riften, and Solitude.  When I played through the Whiterun content, the only part I raised an eyebrow at was the whole Ulfberth-is-gay bit in Adrianne's miniquest.  I figured it was some sort of political marriage, somehow tied to her dad having a place in the jarl's court.  Come to think of it, the two ideas do go together.

Ysolda's quest is fine with me, though I agree that it definitely changes tone at the end, to something different from the rest of the mod, or at least the parts I played.  There's no real indication that the player's going to blackmail her beforehand, but it ends well after that.  I didn't even think twice about the inconsistency when I was playing it.  Only reading this brought it to my attention.  Basically, it's not a big deal.

If you're going to change the Ysolda scene just put [Roleplay] or [Playfully] something like that infront of the final two dialogues and maybe asking afterwards how she enjoyed being treated a bit hard like Madraan indicated in the first dialogue that ends with "I liked that, I want more", just so that all comes across clear. That should be a fairly easy edit and won't require changing any of Ysolda's lines, just the ones spoken by the player.

Not this mod that's the cause, head over to this thread and make sure you've done everything you can to get a stable game, then post your load order there and I'll see if I can help;

I seem to have regained Skyrim stability with a beta driver. Thank goodness, the nightmare is over.

(so far..)

Maybe that's why i've been crashing near riverwood/whiterun for no reason.... I'll need to update my driver.

How do you check if it's the driver that's crashing? Usually my game just CTD's instantly with no warning.

Posted

No idea, but always use the latest driver for your card unless specifically told not to. I suggest checking for updates once per month or so if you don't have a program like nVidia Dashboard that does it for you.

I always update it, it's just that I never noticed that it might have been this last update (before) might have broken something and that's why I was CTD'ing whenever i stepped into an exterior cell. LIke outside riverwood or whiterun.

What card is it? If it's nVidia or AMD then it's not the driver, it's something else you installed around the same time.

Nvidia, and I didn't change any of my installation. Just updated a few esp's to new versions and I even started a new game to make sure my old save wasn't corrupt.

Well it's something else, Skyrim is still a well-played game, if a nVidia driver caused crashing they'd find out about it a few days tops after the driver was released and redo it, and you'd have more people talking about it. But you can check, find out what driver you are using, and write that along with your card and skyrim crashing into google and just hit search, there's no way it affects only you after all.

I read many pages of this thread looking for my answer; then, my chronic migraine got the better of me.  If the answer is already in here, somewhere, I apologize for my lack of... persistence.

I'm stuck in the Solitude quest because another quest line (probably the Companions') already had me kill off the vampires that I would ordinarily be asked to kill by the court mage.  Consequently, I need the instructions for advancing her quest to the end.  I've already completed every other possible quest (I hope that I didn't inadvertently get anything out of order that way).

try the console command

if i remember good, all the amorous quest as the name on the quest

try "player.showquesttargets", this should show you the list of active quest, scroll them for find it and respective ID

try something like "player.sqs amorousadventurequest********"    the ** is the name of the character (i forget the name of this mage)

then player.setstage amorousadventurequest****** ##   (replace ## by the number of the quest stage)

normally quest are presented like this (its an exempl, not correct ^^):

quest:amorousadventureAela

stage 0 = 0

stage 5 = 1

stage 10 = 1

stage 20 = 0

stage 200 = 0

all the 0 mean this part of the quest have not been reach, all the 1 mean this part of the quest have been reach

in this exemple (imagine its your problem actual), the destruction of the vampire nest represente the stage 20.

just use the consol command for unlock it :

"player.setstage amorousadventureAela 20"

this make the stage 20 turn into 1, like you have successfully end this part of the quest and jump to the next part of the quest , the stage 200 is now activate ( imagine part 200 is the end of the quest, as exempl, the sex scene unlock permanent lover)

i hope this can help cause i cant explain more good than this without use complex instruction XD, but i think you gonna understand

When I was playing FF14, the same crash would happen and I would actually get a windows popup on the task bar saying that the driver had crashed. It never said that in Skyrim but it felt the same. So a hunch, mostly.

Should mention I have an ATI card. Don't know the state of Nvidia's drivers right now if you are using Nvidia.

If you want to try upgrading drivers, one thing to always make sure to do is completely uninstall the old drivers first. Installing new drivers over old drivers can create a slew of issues. Don't ask me why. It shouldn't be a thing but it is.

Thanks for that  about  uninstall old drivers before upgrading but if the new driver makes things bork-out how to get back to the old driver?

Upgrading this mod is safe at all times, even in the middle of quests, but don't upgrade to the Serana version, it's too early yet.

Foxfingers, for next upgrade, any change for previous quest? Or just Serana quest? If just Serana, can you make standalone?

Also for Serana quest, is it better for good character or evil character?
