problem with nexus?

It's actually helping you disabling most spyware features on pages you visit. It's easy to uninstall and clean. I took it mostly for facebook as I was afraid to click a like somewhere inadvertently and post on my public profile that I enjoy surfing websites that not everyone needs to know...

okay, cool. I had that very same problem with clicking a like. It caused me to virtually abandon facebook altogether.

And if I never said so, Grumpf, you are someone I should thank for all you have done. Thank you! I have so much stuff of yours or stuff based on stuff of yours(!!!!!)......great! (I guess I love the word "stuff"!!!!!)

I personally added that several days ago: https://privacyfix.com/start

Seems to work for me...

This is not spam :) Here let me say "Milog" so you know I'm not a bot :)

Seems like ghostery on steroids (unless it only workss against google and FB traking?)... I might try it later.

Ghostery does not protect you from anything at all by the way it's a scam, take a look at this hackademix.net/2009/12/10/why-chrome-has-no-noscript ! You can't be protected from scripts whilst using Google Chrome because it does not allow you to turn off scripts entirely (the reason being advertising and marketing tracking scripts is how Google make most of their money, sites like Google Adwords, Google Analytics, all rely on scripts to run on the websites)

Noscript with Firefox is the only thing that 100% protects from scripts, also recommended by US-CERT :)

Anyway that's a bit offtopic haha I know, but deserved a reply :) My problem with nexus just now :( Also ironically how I found out about this site...

It may be my Belgium self cause but what the hell was your thread about?

I am absolutely confused by the wall of text.

What did happen exactly?

OTOH, last time I needed help on the Nexus for some admin TVD was nice and very helpful.

At least keeping the nick+timestamp help to read an irc log ^^'

I'm as lost at reading this as Grumpf even if I'm not belgian.

(ho wait, actually I am too D: )

couldn't view the link.....must be blocked for us normal members now (or at least for me).....reminds me of nexus

The thread was deleted per the OP's request. I had locked that thread as we already have both a "banned" and "this" nexus threads (oh and a "I like the nexus" thread too). Adding more just needlessly clutters up the forum. :P

In info that was in that thread can be reposted here or in the banned from the nexus thread, if the OP of the deleted thread so desires (he is aware of this, as I PM'd him regarding it).

okay just don't want to be nexus'ed and banned because I clicked on what I thought was a legitimate thread!

Banned for clicking .....

Did you click 3 times while whispering sweat nothings ... DID YOU?!?!?!

(holding finger on ban button while waiting for a response)

:D:D:D ROFL!!!!! :D:D:D

Sorry, I just couldn't resist. :P

Heh' date=' that just [i']oozes[/i] paranoia :D

Also, maybe we should make it a bannable offense to use the phrase "reminds me of nexus" when speaking of anything on LL that one doesn't like? Starting tomorrow, so that I don't get in trouble now.

Pulling out the old "grandfathered clause" are we. Taken with your avatar that could be interpreted as a pun....:P

So, aparently, DarkOne got a taste of his own medicine and seem particulary hurt by it. Here's the quote:

I got in contact with quite a few CK2 modders in the community and only one didn't seem to think the idea would stick. So I made a very diplomatic and approachable thread (much akin to this blog piece) in the private modding forums at Paradox Plaza trying to stir a discussion on whether the community felt the need for anything more in regards to distributing and spreading mods. I spoke about the inherent issues with using a private forum for mod distribution, expressed my understanding of why a private forum was being used as a measure against piracy and mentioned our 11 year efforts to prevent blatant pirates from using the Nexus sites. After about 2 pages of very positive reaction, discussion and debate from various modders on the forums, my account was banned without explanation, the thread was deleted and any trace removed. I believe the official reason was advertisement thread or some such. Amusing, since the only link back to the Nexus was the first line explaining My name is Robin and I run NexusMods.com.

I attempted to contact the moderator Forzaa to diplomatically enquire as to why I was banned and that account was also banned without warning or reason. So I let the mod authors who I'd been in contact know about what had happened and moved on.

Many mod authors from the community consequently contacted me either here or via email to let me know how bad they felt about how the situation had been handled by the Paradox moderators. They wanted me to enquire further to find out whether Forzaa (or any other moderator at PP) was acting on behalf of Paradox or whether it was just a knee-jerk reaction from some lower downs. I thanked them for their very kind words, but told them I'd moved on to other projects but they'd be more than welcome to enquire themselves as to what the policy was on the matter.

Getting banned for even mentioning the Nexus was a first, but hey, I'm not going to get upset about it. There's no need.

I'd recommend not enquiring too much about it on the Paradox Plaza forums. They seem to be a little touchy about the subject

What did he expect? It sounds like an attempt to steal away that other site's audience. Who knows how hard they worked at their site, and then the owner of some megasite comes by and says his site is better, come post your mods on my site? How rude can you get? Even if he proposed merging of sites like he's done in the past on some other games, that just means that the former owners of the site become regular members subject to his rules and his bannings if he feels like it. I'd tell him to take a hike too.

Some of the Bans I do Understand like Piracy of Skyrim or any other game. But you don't have to be Immature about the ban.

I know a Few Admins Everyone wants a Piece of.

One of the Admins is The Vampire Dante he is the Major Pardon my Language D0uche he does have 186 Kudos but I bet that his Reputation as a Admin is in the Far Negatives.

Was browsing the daily ban section and I red this by the vampire dante.

Banned for questioning authority.

Quote : I wonder. How much blow jobs do you give to robin(darkone) to make him keep you as his whores?

....

Made my day :D lol

Although the ban is correct for using those words lol

Edit : well that was rather quick. Gone now in the forums :dodgy:

Although we don't have the answer :)

Nah. As I said last time, TVD was nice to me last time. Judging by Robin last loooooong post, the admin/modo situation is finally understood over there and maybe there's hope for more tolerance and comprehension...

C'mon let me be an optimistic once in my life...

@Grumpf

It wouldn't surprise me.

@lemonbaml

Well, I do believe him when he says he made a "very diplomatic and approachable thread" and I doubt he was rude to anyone. Not because I think he's a great guy, which I don't, but because it was his only option to win the community's favor.

What I find ironic and retarded is his reaction to the ban. Maybe it's just me, but I get the feeling he only told everyone in there what happened just to create a shitstorm for those who dared kick his almighty ass from there. And how did he got in contact with those people to "let them know what happened" (which I read as "to let them know how their moderators fucked things up and because of that they'll never have a better place to host their mods")? Did he create another account to evade the ban just for long enough to create that shitstorm? Even if he didn't do that and got in touch with those people via Skype, the Nexus or whatever, what was the point? A simple "Unfortunately, it won't happen." would sufice. For how long has he been creating shitstorms on other communities that refused his takeover just because he could, like a spoiled child that didn't get his candy screaming at the market?

Well' date=' I do believe him when he says he made a "very diplomatic and approachable thread" and I doubt he was rude to anyone. Not because I think he's a great guy, which I don't, but because it was his only option to win the community's favor.[/quote']

For some people just the act of posting up a thread like that would be considered rude, with no regards to actual wording of said post. After all, the purpose was to discuss placing mods on a site that he would be in control of. That is a lot like going into your competitor's department store and handing out coupons for your own. It doesn't matter how polite you are, you are interfering with another person's place of business, soliciting to attract their customers to your own store while on your competitor's property.

Edit: It kind of disturbs me that I had to actually explain that further, as this point should be obvious.

In case this isn't obvious to you, LoversLab can be acessed from all over the world. And as much as a shock this can be, the vast majority of the world don't speak english natively or fluently and a lot of things are lost in translation.

If that fact disturbs you, then I feel really sorry for you.

Now about that kind of post being rude, I agree in this particular case since it seems DarkOne didn't ask permition from that site owner or at least from a moderator before creating that thread.

Maybe because he was afraid they would refuse without giving him a chance to appeal to the community, or maybe because he has his head so far up his ass that he thinks he's entitled to take over other communities. Maybe both. Doesn't really matter.

What I was pointing out is that he got butthurt for being banned by a similar unspoken rule his own site have towards LoversLab. And to top that, he went full retard and created a scenario that could cause a massive shitstorm on that other site just because he could, like a good sociopath.

I'm new to LL and former Nexus lover. Oblivion was awesome with its mods, however I've noticed the reigns being pulled in over there on many mods?

What exactly is with mods being removed, destroyed banned forever?

Is it copyright infringement, hate bans?

So far I love that LL is quite open to mods and allowing mods to stay open on this site. I'm just curious why a ripped file of another game would get banned? If its not for profit and is private use per user in game? Why is it taken down?

Another thing Nexus has is a Higher Ban Ratio. Nexus has more Banned Members than Members so that should tell you that the Site does Not have a great Reputation.

2 quick things:

1) Where is this info that you're seeing? Is that available on their site? You've piqued my curiosity, so I'd like to take a look at them.

2) Do you know if the ban numbers include those that leave voluntarily? On Nexus, the only way to be removed from their system is to be banned (by request). So do you know off-hand if those numbers include the requested bans?
