The_Only_Janitor Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 Apart from many of the people here, I don't particularly hate the Nexus sites, as anal as they may be about their rules and banning of people, They still have the largest and best selection of mods for Bethesda games especially. I'd certainly rather use the Nexus Sites than the "Steam Workshop" or those old Gamespy "VAULT" sites. That being said, whenever I want to find something against the Nexus's rules, like copyrighted game-rips or whatnot, I know I can find what I'm looking for either here, the shy-style uploaders, or some asian blogsites. Personally I think of Loverslab as the mods blackmarket, wheras the Nexus is like Customs.
Grumpf Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 like copyrighted game-rips or whatnot Not sure I like where this is going. We certainly welcome every mod but I don't know the status of cross resources. This, on the other hand is off topic but I needed to clarify. Let's say that it doesn't hurt asking before posting something that can be illegal. We won't ban anyone for asking...
Guest Kate the Bionic Uterus Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Posing 2 females, facing each other (not actually touching) with skimpy armor(<--My 2 female chars) will get you warned if not banned, but posing 2 males nude, jerking off on each other or a female with breast or genital mutilation is just fine. Where do you find such pictures. I am interested in the post production of course.

Guest Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 I remember a user that had a gallery filled with CTAddPose Hentai, guro, Erori, and bondage poses. The gallery literally contained pictures of trolls and goblins raping women in the pictures! If I searched now, I could probably find them! And now I'm hearing of people getting banned for pictures not containing explicit sexual material!? It's pretty damn hilarious how the nexus nazis run their sites.
DeadSomething Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 hating steam isnt very hard to understand once you've ever had a low-end PC and wanted to play any "steam-only-game" like HalfLife, HL2, etc. and that goddamn program eats too much CPU, GPU, RAM, VRAM and everything just for letting you login and play a game, which is completely installed to your HDD and technically wouldnt need you to be online because you want to play singleplayer. but that program eats all your ressources and a game that would run perfectly on a pentium4 2600MHZ 512MB DDR-RAM suddenly is permanently lagging on a dualcore 3200MHZ 2048 DDR2-RAM .
thesapien Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Well' date=' you ruined every chance you had by creating a new account. [/quote'] Anyone can get back to using Nexus by simply using Tor. https://www.torproject.org/index.html.en Apart from many of the people here' date=' I don't particularly hate the Nexus sites, as anal as they may be about their rules and banning of people, They still have the largest and best selection of mods for Bethesda games especially. Personally I think of Loverslab as the mods blackmarket, wheras the Nexus is like Customs. [/quote'] What's so bad about Steam Workshop and better about Skyrim Nexus? When I stopped using Nexus, I started using SW and began to prefer it. SW has come a long ways since its creation, adding functionality while being very user friendly. One cool thing I discovered last month after reformatting my HD was that all my selected mods and load order were remembered by Steam, just like my saved games. Plus, Nexus is just trying to be all professional and legit as if they were run by those at Steam. They try to please Beth as if they were Beth. When Steam came online with the Workshop, Skyrim Nexus became the illegitimate bastard child who never won his daddy's approval. Fortunately for Skyrim Nexus, there's a lot of hate for Steam from a community that is anti-corporation who likes Nexus for being an alternative even though Nexus bans anyone found to not be using Steam copies of Skyrim, still trying hard to win daddy's love. As to the blackmarket comment, Nexus is likely the largest provider of mods for non-legit copies of games given that they are so big and do not actually require a Steam connection in order to download mods. Though they ban those found out, they have no verification method and no way of knowing unless a user posts in the forums about their conduct. Also, LL does have rules that show they only support what is considered legal, as well. LL does not seem to play cop, but they don't play robber either. hating steam isnt very hard to understand once you've ever had a low-end PC and wanted to play any "steam-only-game" like HalfLife' date=' HL2, etc. and that goddamn program eats too much CPU, GPU, RAM, VRAM and everything just for letting you login and play a game, which is completely installed to your HDD and technically wouldnt need you to be online because you want to play singleplayer. but that program eats all your ressources and a game that would run perfectly on a pentium4 2600MHZ 512MB DDR-RAM suddenly is permanently lagging on a dualcore 3200MHZ 2048 DDR2-RAM . [/quote'] I was asking about Steam Workshop, really. Skyrim Nexus would have you using Steam, no matter, if they had their way. Sounds like your biggest problem is your PC and not Steam. I'm running Steam now with it using under 10mb and less than 1% of CPU (so not even registering in Task Manager under CPU). But now we're getting away from the Nexus discussion. Maybe start another thread about Steam?

[/quote'] well, that was on my last PC - i had to upgrade lately because my mainboard had a big fault with its FSB. anyway: i've been using the nexus for mods since i play oblivion and wanted some (HGEC) body replacer. i later found some people mentioning other mods and found LL. sure the nexus admins want to make sure they dont get sued for copyright inflictions, but they're taking it too far. same with pornographic material - Oblivion and Fallout are categorized as being adult games - even vanilla. and the nexus provides the feature to add the option "adult content" for any mod you upload, so its not necessary to be so prude about some content. its good they keep any child abuse referenced stuff off their site, but i havent seen any LL mod that i would have considered illegal yet. sure some mods arent to my personal preferences, but i dont have to download them and maybe others would think the same about stuff i like. sorry for the length of my post
sbire Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/715056-azuchi67-banned/ can someone explain this to me? i don't unterstand that reason.
Guest GingerTom Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 Makes no sense unless the mod 'censored' part of the post to remove the illegal site?

lemonbalm Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 If you look at about 5-6 other bannings for the same thing you'll see it was a group of spam accounts. Doesn't really matter what kind of site it was.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot *epic facepalm* (its so big it cant fit into this post: the earth itself doing a facepalm!) *sigh* It's clear I've missed something here, so nevermind. I was noting that several of the ban notices today mention an "illegal game code site." Doesn't mean I agree, but if it's the same site over and over it would seem to be spam. Feel free to clarify because I really have no idea what you guys are all facepalming about.
Zaldir Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Well' date=' you ruined every chance you had by creating a new account. [/quote'] Interesting that instead of combing this thread for some legitimate examples of why a lot of people are upset with them, perhaps finding some good ideas peppered in here and there, a Nexus moderator comes to troll and heckle us for our discussion. Pot, meet kettle. Hypocrite. I've been combing this entire thread already. Found some things to improve, and some things that clearly works as intended.
The Corsair Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 I really hate nexus, most of my mods have been deleted with no message back from the moderators, maybe i hit their sensibility, if i got the time maybe i post them back here. this is a good website that's why i join.
Guest GingerTom Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 @corsair321 Yes, please, post them here--we have adult and non-adult sections. And we'll appreciate them very much--especially if Nexus deleted them.

adrenaline Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 After reading several posts now I realize LL is like a "land of freedom" for many modders now. I have been a lot of international websites, LL is the most friendly website for foreigners I ever know (The second one is 9gag). It's still clear to me what happened the first time I replied on English website (4chan). I was abused by racist replies, and then I started to understand how Jews feel. After this accident, I almost shut my mouth at any international websites until I came here. Another reason why I decided to stay here is because I noticed people are not picking about foreigner's grammar problems, and willing to answer the question instead of taking you as just another "d*mn noob". So it's likely that if I asked the modeling question at the other websites instead of LL, frustration will stop me to learn how to make model. I can say LL restores my faith in internet, thank you guys.
