Lexi SubZero Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 *snip* This is where they fail: in the forum part. I hate censorship and was particularly hurt when the word "loverslab" was removed' date=' even in my PM. *snip* [/quote'] I was surprised too..when I was recommending Lovers Lab to two of my Nexus friends via PM. ...as if the name of this site was a dirty word
thesapien Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Grumpf, nice sin-nopsis. Normally, I would follow the link and read myself, but this time I let you spare me the details. You put in the time and came back with a thoughtful review that totally matched what I would expect to find so, yeah, this time, I'm just sparing myself the details. And thanks again for doing the dirty digging and coming back still intact. LOL, I have this imagine of you, just before going in, saying, "I got this." And you really did. Thanks.
thesapien Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 I was surprised too..when I was recommending Lovers Lab to two of my Nexus friends via PM. ...as if the name of this site was a dirty word Maybe it's just the key word "love" that is forbidden?
thesapien Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Nexus is justified by their success. This is why my words are always aimed at the community over there and not just the owner. This includes, perhaps especially so, even those who don't like their philosophy but still use the site. It's not so different than when Company X (plug your evil corps here) does bad things yet so many continue to buy their products or use their services. These supporters are the ONLY reason Company X is able to continue, thus justifying their existence.
lolerzness Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Man. Myrmaad sure has a temper. She was acting hostile on a member on the chat earlier after asking for advice in nifscope. I was *THIS* close to arguing with her on how he she responded but we all know what that means. But she got out as soon as i was done typing my reply on the chat box.
lolerzness Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Hmm. What if i upload an image on Nexus with my character wearing a t-shirt that says I LoversLab just like those I NEW YORK shirts eh? xD
Lexi SubZero Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Maybe it's just the key word "love" that is forbidden? Nope. Tried some other Nexus unfriendly site name (F3 Underground)..same effect. Hmm. What if i upload an image on Nexus with my character wearing a t-shirt that says I LoversLab just like those I NEW YORK shirts eh? xD Troll hard. Add another character beside yours with "COME TO THE DARK SIDE. WE HAVE COOKIES." t-shirt.

[/quote'] Thanks a lot, it's very flattering. But don't trust me too much: I provided the link so people can read the good and the bad about it as there is a lot of good too. I just want our community to learn from the mistakes of others and offer an island of free speech. You are also right about the community, I've seen a lot of boot lickers and I've seen some Modos with good philosophy. Robin seems like he is really a good guy. So in other words: Let's focus on how we can provide here what people haven't found elsewhere. Tolerance to start with, help as a second thought and maybe some kinkiness...
lolerzness Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Troll hard. Add another character beside yours with "COME TO THE DARK SIDE. WE HAVE COOKIES." t-shirt. PURE WIN.
thesapien Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Maybe it's just the key word "love" that is forbidden? Nope. Tried some other Nexus unfriendly site name (F3 Underground)..same effect. Did you take me for being serious? Back when I first visited LL, it was after seeing a post on Nexus that had *site not allowed* in there and finding out what it referred to.
Poontank Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 What if i upload an image on Nexus with my character wearing a t-shirt that says I LoversLab? Excellent idea! Made me instantly knock something together using a shirt from the 'Double Melons Wardrobe': If only I could post it there...
Mailamea Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 BAM! Nicely done poon. If you are willingly you can, but it will only last mins, if your lucky an hour. Just don't name the mod with any prefix LL, love, etc. Name it awesomely nice shirt in nexus. Lol
Poontank Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 My main problem with uploading anything on there (as well as downloading files over 2 MB): I'm unfortunately banned... "Just a flesh wound!" Expert handiwork courtesy of the Buttah and his slaphappy banhammer.

Expert handiwork courtesy of the Buttah and his slaphappy banhammer. Aah...I guess he's called "official old fart" for a reason. I think this SOB is responsible for disappearance of the first two Asuka Armor mods for FNV. Some of his edits are also total bullsh!t. Have you tried some IP changing utilities? You could "unban" yourself quite easily.

Poontank Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Have you tried some IP changing utilities? You could "unban" yourself quite easily. For a short time I was using a proxy and a new identity... But it just felt wrong being on the site altogether' date=' like being thrown out of a snobbish club by a bully bouncer [i']for not wearing a tie[/i]. Sure, I could wear one and be readmitted - just to feel disguised and uncomfortable all the time. Considering former friends have broken off contact and left LoversLab behind to rise to 'superstardom' over there, apparently fallen prey to the sweet seduction of endorsements (tsss, I'm just jealous) really makes me feel disgusted and not overly fond of being there. Bad memories. They didn't want me, my characters and my pictures on their wonderful site. Call it 'butthurt drama king behaviour' if you like, it's the way I feel. I can't post anything of my work on the site ever again out of fear they'd see through my disguise, so why bother when I can post it on here? This site is a place way more suitable. Too bad for all the mods I can't download anymore, but there are other options and nicer sites for that. Lolerz, this might be a new project in the making! I cobbled this shirt together in a few minutes (actually, taking the screenshot took longer), there could be a whole collection of nice shirts. The mesh itself isn't that good. Maybe I'll find a better shirt as a base for about five different designs, with funny quips on the backside: "Jump through hoops for butts and boobs!" and such.
Grumpf Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Glad you have a new home here! For the mods you want you can always ask here and we'll find a way. For mine, there's the torrent but you'll still need some files from the nexus. Those being small though, we can probably shelter them here. I would love a T_shirt saying "Claudia's little secret rules" or something similar

Too bad for all the mods I can't download anymore, but there are other options and nicer sites for that. I see that as your special quality of character. Those who go back do so either under false pretenses or after asking for forgiveness and accepting Nexus as being in the right. Their main motivation seems to be to get those mods they just can't live without. Plus, going back only supports them further and IS PROBABLY EXACTLY WHAT THEY WANT. Their bottom line is internet traffic and ad services. This is why I'm trying to avoid even reading linked threads over there for now on.
lemonbalm Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Their bottom line is internet traffic and ad services. This is probably the reason that they don't delete accounts, even for users who have requested bans and thus have done no wrong in their eyes. It inflates the stats so that the advertisers believe they're advertising to a wider audience. That, and the fact that viruses get through in the ads on occasion is why I religiously block all ads, but hey, I block ads everywhere so they shouldn't feel too special.

Unless some site strictly demands it being turned off/halted I'm keeping mine on all the time.
creeposaurus Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Ugh, this. I hate that I HAVE to say something when I see people leave comments like this. I'm just going to stop going through mod comments from now on. If there's a bug, update, or something I'll just discover it on my own.
Poontank Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 ...asking for forgiveness and accepting Nexus as being in the right. I actually did that once. My final ban was the second one. The first time around' date=' I got banned because of the [i']offensive vulgarity[/i] my username 'Poontank' meant to them. I really wanted to be a member there as I was unaware of their true nature, so I wrote an appeal in the form of a sincere apology. Stating that - as a non-native English speaker - I had no clue about the offensiveness of a word I considered a frivolous yet harmless pun. They reinstated me (under a new name which sounded rather similar to my original one) because of my promise 'to be good', and good I've always tried to be. Whenever possible, I answered questions from members concerning mods used in my pictures, endorsed great images of others and left a nice comment, I tried giving constructive criticism in mod discussion threads or just complimented modders on their efforts. All for naught with guys like Buttah around. When I got introduced to his friend Ben Hammer (and insulted while he was at it), I felt this time the ban was not justified at all. Instead of begging and admitting my mistake, my second appeal was a politely written, well-structured list of arguments to make them see the error of their moderator's decision. I never got a reply. But some time later, when my friend Kimict got banned for merely mentioning my name, the Vagrant-Zero used the opportunity to demonize me and falsely describe my appeal as an impolite mess of insults aimed at their staff. Definitely not the appeal I wrote them. It's really easy for such guys to bend the truth, with nobody around to prove them wrong... Then again, in theory I could be a lying bastard, demonizing those hard-working good people over there, as much as I am a pedophile pornographic perpetrator to Buttah. OT: I thought of starting a new thread about the LoversLab shirts in 'Oblivion Non-Adult Mods'.
Guest †Foggy♥Sugar† Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 It's really easy for such guys to bend the truth' date=' with nobody around to prove them wrong... Then again, in theory [i']I[/i] could be a lying bastard, demonizing those hard-working good people over there, as much as I am a pedophile pornographic perpetrator to Buttah. This is my whole problem with them deleting threads I have to admit. They lock it up immediately then when you want to see what went wrong, what was so bad that "made" them ban the person, the thread is just gone. I know they have their reasons, or at least I think they do. I dunno I'm prolly naive about it. After what happened not just to myself but things I have seen in actual screen shots before the thread disappeared, I can't help but question them. If the thread has lots of vulgarities, cussing, racist slurs ok I get it. It needs to go. But it's never like that. It's someone saying the name of a site or a person. I have seen the threads and I know people aren't just making it up. It's when the thread suddenly vanishes from their site that I start to wonder why it was so important to have to be deleted right away. It's just too shady an action. I might be reading too much into it though I dunno, I don't want to sound like a paranoid person or like I'm just joining in on the "beat up Nexus" vibe. (This is one of a hundred sites with this vibe, I am in fact not speaking of this site or any persons specifically and I don't mean any offense. Literally.) I dunno, I feel like they have brought it upon themselves though with their actions and weird, seemingly pushy censoring. Whenever you say, "Buttah" I always think of a stick of butter shaped into a little Buddha Statue XD
Guest GingerTom Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 @Poontank said "I don't want to sound like a paranoid person" And I hate to repeat an often said phrase, but: You're not paranoid when they really are after you.
