Is that something in the new SexLab?

 

Nope. i did a survey of a bunch of mods and how they handle MCM registration and upgrading. There's no consistency really, and some (based on comments, like SOS's) apparently gave up on the prescribed methods because its unreliable.

 

I'm adding a visible button in Apropos to force an upgrade.

So is it just a display thing or is it really using the older version? I would think overwriting the older versions files would mean I'm running the newer version regardless of what MCM is showing.

You mean with Apropos, or mods in general? The severity can range from benign to buggy. Mod version upgrades usually can add new MCM sub-menus, upgrade mod variables/properties, etc. But you have the new scripts in place, so its likely that its a mixture of new scripts with slightly out of date MCM, possibly with small out of date data. I provide in Apropos a button to refresh the db, so that is will cover a lot of the upgrade for Apropos. But its possible not everything is in place. I think in your case, there wasn't alot added to MCM per se, but mostly script function implementation changes, so you are probably ok.

when u press the test Apropos botton how long does it go for in real time? does it stop after a little while just asking? but from what im seeing it looks good

You always just quit the game and restart if you get tired of it running through the different combinations. I think it takes around 3-5 minutes.

Any thoughts on when the Male PC will be able to UN-virgin a virgin? (Not naggin', just askin')

I'm currently re-writing the Wear n Tear module of Apropos.

 

Quick question: DO you generally deflower unique NPC's, or generic "Bandit Thug", etc?

OK, seriously... generally it's my followers and unique (named) NPCs in towns and stuff. 

In the Paradise Valley Underground Bath House, all of the residents are unique (assuming they're all unique as they're all named).

 

Although I BELIEVE.... haven't looked for this specifically.... that even the more generic "Stormcloak Soldier" are being seen as individuals by Apropos as if I go into the stormcloak camp and get things cranked up, each female stormcloak soldier.... still just labeled Stormcloak Soldier... appears to be tracked separately.

 

Meaning.... if ONE has vaginal sex and loses her vaginal virginity, they don't ALL lose their vaginal virginity. At least not that I recall and I've used that camp for testing other things (there's 2 horses AND a nearby giant camp!)

IN the current release, if you select [x] in MCM for W&T on NPC's, we basically employ full W&T processing on every NPC that has sex somehow. This is overkill, and the mechanism to make W&T degrade work is non-reliable. User fotogen (the author of SexLabUtil1) enlightened me that MagicEffects are non-reliable on NPCs as far as persistence goes. That is, if you use MagicEffects to run scripts on an Actor, and that actor is not the PC, but a NPC, it is possible for the NPC to leave the cell where the PC is, and the MagicEffect will possibly just disappear. We are using currently a MagicEffect to run the degrade effect over time.

 

What I want to do is add a property to non-unique actors - a simple IsVirgin boolean property, managed through (initially) PapyrusUtil/StorageUtil.

 

For NPCs that are Unique (such as Ysolda), we will add them to the normal W&T processing... I'm still trying to work out exactly what the W&T processing will be at this point.

Trying to be more helpful here...

 

I noticed that in the regular logs, it doesn't appear to show any changes in the actors' Wear n Tear. Would it show up in the trace if I enable that? And is that even helpful or do you already have a handle on this?

 

Also.... any way to check an NPC's Wear n Tear levels?

I *think* b3lisario mentioned something similar in the SoS beta thread.

 

Just to be clear, in the current version, the virgins I am trying to deflower are not leaving the cell and coming back as virgins.

They get "tested" and I see the "...for the first time" message for them, and then they get "tested" again immediately. I get the "...for the first time" message again. It isn't until they get "tested" by an NPC, that the message goes away and I assume at that point that they are no longer virgins.

 

If you're rewriting all this then maybe what's happening currently is just not relevant.

 

I'm going to Florida tomorrow evening and won't be back until Monday evening, so other than a bit of time in the morning tomorrow, I probably won't have time to mess with much.

Youll have to pardon me, as im new with modding, but I'm having some trouble with this. It's loaded in my MCM but when I click on it no options are showing up. Is there something im missing/ doing wrong?

Do you have all of the REQUIRED mods installed? These are listed on the first page of this in the original post.

I just now saw the Jcontainers. Is that a LL or a nexus mod?

 

Also I thought Sexlab Aroused was also a requirement.

I have a problem, some words are missing in the displayed texts

for example: "Draugh insert his cock in your."

 

and if I look in the console I see:

 

"Top-level synonyms object not present or not a map"

and

"Could not find synonyms array for"

 

but the file Synonyms.txt is present in Data\Apropos\db

 

I have verified I have the correct requirement and that the JContainers.dll in my \SKSE folder is the same that comes with the mod.

 

any idea what's wrong with my install ?

 

edit: I have installed Apropos_Beta_2014_04_24.7z

That's a symptom of having a bad descriptions file, usually a missing comma. Did you try adding anyone's descriptions or make your own edits?

 

Most likely that's a problem in SexPart_Synonyms.txt -- try copying all of the text from the file into an online validator like JSONlint.

I'm gonna try to get some logs with this happening, but during my reinstall I'm getting the messages appearing at strange times.

The starting message either doesn't appear at all, or appears when the orgasm scene starts, while the orgasm message appears after the PC stands back up.

Anyone else have this? Since I updated SexLab, everything just seems a bit slower...

My skyrim launches slower than it use to now. But I don't know if that has anything to do with sexlab since I updated a few mods at the same time, including SKSE 1.7

If you are upgrading at all from a previous release, you need to follow the upgrade instructions in the OP.

If you are upgrading Apropos from a previous release:

 

- From 201403XX to 20140423:

  • Make a clean save in Skyrim. Exit.
  • Uninstall your current version of Apropos.
  • Reload game save, dismiss warning about missing objects. Wait a few minutes, perform save again. Exit
  • Reload game save, wait a few minutes, perform save again. Exit
  • (optional) Use Save Game Cleaner: http://www.nexusmods...im/mods/52363/?
  • Install new version of Apropos.
  • Reload game save. You should see message about Apropos upgrading to version 20140423. View MCM panel for Apropos and exit immediately.
  • Wait until you see a message about new MCM menu being registered.
  • Go into Apropos MCM panel and click "REFRESH" under Message Preferences.
  • Make a clean save.

Could SL  1.5x be more Papyrus spammy? have you noticed a big size increase in the logs?
