chimiz Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 So while using Untamed, you can name your followers, but these names are not recognized in Apropos when calling {ACTIVE} in the descriptions. A quick query in the support topic got me the reply that to utilize the nicknames you would have to call the GetDisplayName() function instead of the GetName(), would it be possible to see this added in the future to Apropos, to allow us to see the names instead of the generic ones returned with GetName? I tried to do some quick edits as an experiment myself but I've got a serious lack of knowledge in this particular area, and wasn't sure how to add in so that the AproposDescriptions script actually got the global scripts from SKSE's ObjectReference ones. Either that or maybe a quick pointer to what I would have to add to get it to work? I just noticed that I'm still using 2014 Apropos due to the Text Overlay function of EAU 5.0, which unfortunately doesn't work with Apropos 2015, but the script seem to look about the same in that area. (Hmm I wonder what causes EAU not to work with 2015...)
Dapper Dan Pomade Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 If one encounters the "Could not find an available widget" bug, is there an easy way to fix it? Like, a command or something that releases the widget and restores functionality? Or am I cursed to just reload to an earlier save? I'm sorry you've reached this. I've played with Apropos for play throughs level 0-92 and at the end I was getting pretty good functionality from the mod. It all comes down if SL scenes get interrupted and the Orgasm events never get fired. I can't think of a fix off the top of my head, but I'll continue thinking about it. What I really need to do is provide a Widget reset capability. Don't feel too bad. I save a lot, so reverting to a previous one isn't a big deal. Having the ability to fix the problem on the fly with a reset would be cool, though. For what it's worth, in my game I've noticed two mods that, in certain situations, will definitely cause this bug to happen. The first is Lover's Comfort. If you find yourself in a situation where a ton of NPCs start comforting each other at the same time, somewhere along the line it'll get broken. For me, it's usually in a Jarl's palace, where there's a bunch of slaves around (hydragorgon's mod) and collared slaves for comfort is active. The other is during one of the home delivery jobs in the current Radiant Prostitution mod. A means of resetting the widget would probably be a good enough for most circumstances. I have been running Apropos and lots of SL scene generating mods throughout a level 80+ play-through and I believe I am down to the just the primary and one secondary widget, but even then it hasn't broken the functionality of the mod enough for me to want to worry about cleaning my save and reinstalling. Good shout. I'd been down to only one available secondary widget as well, gave reinstalling the mod a try. Seems to have fixed it, I've got more secondary widgets available now.
Neodarkside Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 Just curious about this before I spend an hour redoing descriptions for apropos. Has anyone retyped some of the Male/female descriptions to be a little cleaner, in other words, removing any references to piss and shit. Major turnoff. I did it once before and forgot to save it when I deleted Skyrim and all its folders a month ago to start over fresh. I thought I saw one awhile back, but this was almost a year ago. Google search turned up nothing for keywords.
karlpaws Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 I am sure one or two people did, and they would be posted in the Features and Requests thread, not this one.
Neodarkside Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Ah, didn't know that thread existed, will look thru it.
Guest Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Is there a custom pack for Apropos already? If yes, where can I find it?

majorfreak Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 hiya. sometimes i get a situation where the apropos text will be missing operative words in it's sentences. next time it starts happening i'll immediately save, reload and start the debug logs and get papyrus0 for you.

That sounds like it's not finding any synonyms for some {WORD}'s in the database. Are you using files from anyone else's databases? If you didn't also merge the Synonyms.txt files then any new synonyms used in those files will have no replacements and will just be removed. You could try the Refresh Synonyms option in the MCM Message Preferences sub-menu, but if only some lines are missing words, then it sounds more like you're missing entries in your Synonyms.txt file. That's about as much as I can give you with an apropos.0.log, so just turn all the debugging options on and play around until you spot the error. Saving and enabling logging after it happens won't help, especially if it is what I think it is. You need the log output for when it tries to display the lines that aren't working.
majorfreak Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 cool. okay. hmmm...refresh synonyms option? didn't know there was one. thanks (i'm not using any customs packs for apropos) oh, and awesomesauce that there's Apropos2 coming out soon™ ahhh...do i enable detailed trace messages too?
majorfreak Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 btw, totally new topic: when i'm registering sexlab animations do i run the apropos patchups before or after that process?
Guest Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 Okay, I'm still alive, and thought I'd provide an update on my lack of recent content. Over the past few months, I've been really burned out on Apropos, and by extension, Skyrim. I actually don't remember the last time I actually played Skyrim, but it was over a year ago. Apropos is a major reason for this; in it's current format, it's very apparent that I would have never actually finished the database. I was writing too much content for an ever increasing number of animations, and it kind'a took over. With that in mind, I've decided on a new approach. More simplistic, more straightforward, and aiming not to provide an erotic novel's worth of content for every individual animation. The aim is to add a nice amount of fluff without either requiring another year's worth of writing and letting me get back into the game, and with the messages being complimentary to the sex rather than dominating it. So, hopefully I'll have something within a few weeks that will just work for all situations rather than requiring an update every time someone brings out a new animation.
sexcapades Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 I seem to be missing some files and I can't find them in the download. "could not find or read file 'Data/Apros/db/slutty/FemaleActor ...' My folder structure doesn't have the slutty subdirectory. There are a few others as well. Anyone know where I can pick those files up?

The "slutty" folder should should be a theme name, so you might want to check your themes file and see if there is something besides a 0 for it. Alternately, you can just make a folder and copy in any files you want there. The base download did not have a slutty folder, so nothing is missing (there was a bdsm folder only iirc as an example sample).
Nazzzgul666 Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 I've been away from Skyrim and LL for some time, my last knowledge about Apropos was that there will be a big rework, didn't find anything about it at the last 3 pages, though. I just wanted to know if there is already something like a releasedate or if i'd better check again in some weeks/months.
Gortwog Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 So for some reason, the tears/sob overlays are 100% opaque (id est, they're solid white). Looks very unnatural. Anyone know how to fix this?
Chalchiuhtlicue Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 Is there some way to force the wear/tear textures to keep using the same tint I apply to them in Racemenu, or apply a new default? It keeps swapping back to the default black after every change

I would propose to help, but my knowledge of the english language wouldn't generate any arousal in the players.
jwideman Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 I'm experiencing an odd bug that apparently nobody else is: When I export the settings, I get the message saying it failed to save. But that settings file is in fact where it's supposed to be, and looking at it everything appears to be correct. It also fails to load. I'm launching through MO - could this be the culprit?

Could be, as I also use MO and have gotten that message. Have you left the files in the override folder or did you make a mod out of it? I have left files in override since I don't switch profiles at all.

I have left files in override since I don't switch profiles at all. The file is getting exported to my documents folder, so nothing goes to overwrite. I get the sense that this is probably not supposed to happen. This is the only mod I've seen use JContainers to save a text file, so I'm not sure what's happening. I think I'll try moving it to the data directory and see what happens.

That's probably a better approach considering we've got FunnyBiz now creating a vast river of new animations and several other animators also contributing new animations as well.

Unless you have MO setup vastly different from mine, everything done in game stays in the MO folder. The only things in my Documents folder (Win 7) is in the Games\Skyrim\Logs and \Saves folders. saviliana Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 Any chance the new version of apropos come out before the SkyrimSE (28th-OCT-2016)?
