Sorry if what I am about to say sounds off topic, but I actually think it has huge potential for Sexlab and (especially) Apropos. A new mod has just been posted on the Nexus that lets you knock on doors, be invited in (not asked to leave!) and even share a bed with the homeowner.

The mod is called "Simply Knock".

I have been waiting for a mod like that for years. It is not a sex mod, but it has huge implications for Apropos and I am drawing attention to it here in case Gooser or Decauk (or anyone who writes their own messages) wants to integrate it into their Apropos experience. This one simple mod will totally change my wanderings through Skyrim. So many lonely wives and maidens to knock up...

There's actually an {ACTIVE2} tag.

Good find with the threesome stuff.

But is it scripted for use? Or does it simply exist? :)

I'll try sticking it in one of the threesomes... I know who the PRIMARY is and who the ACTIVE is... so... I can test it.

Nope... apparently not programmed in...

Either that or there are conditions on its use that I am not meeting.

Hmm. Yeah I can see what you mean with space gooser.

Personally I mainly use the player messages, where npc messages are second, but still present.

Is there a need for 3 W&T/Virginity/Plugin boxes, or are they also there to be used by potential Apropos plugins as well?

When it comes to space from what I can see, my suggestions would be that the box would be a bit wider, and maybe gain some space by using 2 W&T/Plugin boxes. I would only suggest the latter depending on what kind of Apropos plugin messages would be displayed there, since if there is a need for 3, then I obviously wouldn't cut one.

A bit more space for message length would be nice, but I also think that if there was a way to 'loop' the messages over time would reduce the need for longer messages, though not completely remove it. Looping isn't really the right word, but I'm sure you understand what I mean. (getting a new random message after a previous one ends).

I suppose my suggestions would be;

*Slight increase in width of the widgets.

*Possible slight reduction in height distance between widgets. Difficult to tell how much extra size this would actually allow however, due to font size.

Alternatively, allowing the widget to accept more characters if you scale it up. But I will be fair and say that I haven't made a widget myself and don't know exactly how they work when it comes to that. I'm guessing they simply increase in scale with size, increasing the font size accordingly, meaning for that to work the font size would need to be static, which would possibly be frustrating to some people who use different resolutions, or font size would need to be changeable in the MCM or a config INI. Again, I don't know if a widget could actually do that.

If you're planning on removing the W&T system, what does that mean for those tags? Will {WTANAL} and whatever need to be removed, or will they tie in to the new module?

Also, what's going to happen with the db structure? Are you still going ahead with the structure we discussed last time, or something else? Will trends require an overhaul to existing structure, or new files to be added? Frankly, I'd much rather add new files when a trend 'qualifies' than have to divide up existing files to match progress along a trend. I'd also recommend that trends be seperate messages; I wouldn't like to have to write a trend file for every unique animation!

As for NPCs, I like them having messages and my character reacting to other people's sex, but a few recommendations:

  • Specific voyeur messages added to the files underneath 3rd party for 1st/2nd party voyeurs. Right now, NPCs just use 3rd party messages, which can reduce the context possible. Much better to say 'I/You get turned on' than have to use the more general 'it's a turn on'.
  • Lower the detection distance before NPC messages are shown, have the PC actually require line of sight. Right now, messages play all the way across cells, and sometimes even in other cells.
  • Separate and generic message set for being near sex, as if the player can just hear it. Maybe two files, one for human sex and one for creature sex? Like, 'Can I hear moaning?' and 'I can hear some beat grunting, and a woman, too?'. That kind of thing.

The {WT...} tags will remain and Apropos will support those through JContainer queries. Currently Apropos includes tracking actors for W&T and reads those values when preparing descriptions that use the W&T values. In the new system, Apropos would just use a form-based (actor-based) JC query, and assume any actor can have W&T tracked in some way.

I'm still planning implementing the new file structure to fully accommodate edge cases that we had discussed before.

I think trend messages would probably be handled the way W&T changes are handled today.

Lots of food for thought....

So is sexlab 1.6x still not supported?

It is supported and works just fine. The mod info just hasn't been updated because the mod itself hasn't.

May someone hlep me?

I´d like to have the wear and tear textures added in earlier stages... Cause I think it takes too much time (or better "usage") until the abuse is increased to 4.

If I could make a wish, I´d love the textures beeing added on abuse 2 / 4 / 6 / 8 .

I started looking in the scripts, but man it was just too complicated.

Thanks a lot

I've been having some problems with Apropos for a while. Even on completely fresh installs and new games.

It seems that all sex organ descriptions are edited out. Instead there's just a single blank space where any descriptions of cocks or vaginas might be.

Is this a default setting which I can change using the Mod Manager? Because I can't see it in there.

Usually missing synonyms indicates a problem with JContainers. What version do you have installed?

Also, provide some log files - Apropos0.log and papyrus0.log

Is there a trick to installing the beta version you can download from Git?

I've tried the regular way to install it via MO but some features weren't working, like the wear'n'tear textures - the drop downs for setting the wear level were empty.

i dont know if its a glitch or not but pretty much always when i play a animation the text says something slutty even when i changed the theme to 0 (yes i refreshed the theme from mcm)

but aside from that the mod works great thanks

So, I notice that there are some new lines that people write for Apropos and post somewhere on the internet. any hints of a easy way of a bundled lines download as addon or upcoming update plans of actaul Apropos framework?

Most of those are in this thread - http://www.loverslab.com/topic/28360-apropos-feature-request-and-descriptions-submission/page-1

Some of them are complete databases that you can just drag/drop and overwrite the default database, and others are compiled lines that you can copy/paste into the existing files.  Its not that difficult to add people's new lines if you follow the format of the files and just add extra lines.

Yes I had exactly the same problem by starting the mod 1st without jconainers, then adding jcontainers and loading the savegame where it had already been initialized. The only way I found to fix this was to use the mcm option to uninstall apropos, then really remove the mod, save, activate the mod again, reload. This time the activation is done with jcontainers and everything works normally.

Another symptom of this is the theme screen in the mcm options, it displays nothing except "0" !

Anyway everything is fixed after this !

I have a suggestion, hope you find the concepts interesting.

Make the descriptions database more user friendly: have the apropos directory have subcategories, such as "creature specific" ,"animation specific", "emotion specific", "commentary" etc. Under those you could then have files/subdirectories of that type:

Things that are animation specific should really describe what is happening in the current animation stage, only. Less than they are now. As new animations are coming in at a decent speed, these are of lesser importance, as updates would not keep up easily.

Creature specific should of course only relate to creature descrpitions.

Emotion specific should be about how an actor feels. Here you could have subcategories such as "aroused", "unwilling aroused", "humiliated", "blissful", "attacker disdain" etc.

Commentary should be things said by an actor, such as "Pleas of Mercy", "Pregnancy Boasts", "Female Dirty Talk"

I don't think these are strictly necessary, but would make some sense.

What would be even better would be a MCM menu, where each file or subdirectory would have it's own checkmark/slider/number, where a player can enable/disable or even set preference  number of the different categories.

Hopefully the setup would make it easy for people to come up with new subcategories and add new descriptive text files that would be automatically added into the pool of descriptions to show.

Z.

p.s. Not related to the above, can you access schlong size?

Question: which enemies are considered 'daedric'? I've spawned some dremora, but my daedric abuse is still considered virgin. A conflict with Immersive creatures maybe?

Seekers and Lurkers.

EDIT: And anything with that has Race = DremoraRace.

Can you enable Trace in MCM, run your experiment, and then post your Apropos0.log ?
