Hey look it's another thread for bitching about nexus.

I always believed he didn't have another source of income, outside of maybe a sugar-daddy.  IF an outside source IS pulling his strings THAT IS FUCKING AWESOME!!!  He suffers, Nexus suffers.  Gotta love that.

I went to the open pages of Nexus today after I read the sites were down again.  Got the typical blank 502 Bad Gateway like I did 50% of the time when I was a premium member there.  Boohoo.  Nyah! :P

Surprise Surprise Surprise! Down again. The *WE HAVE TAKEN DOWN THIS SITE WHILE WE PERFORM SOME MAINTENANCE. WE'LL BE BACK SOON SO PLEASE BE PATIENT* should be the sites logo or mascot or something since you see it more then the actual site.

check the forum there are more then 50.000 users on-line what do you expect. 35.000 are just guests.

If they restrict guest access maybe they won't be offline as much,

That just means their equipment isn't up to the task of handling such a load. If they make as much money per month as I think they do from prem accounts and ad pay outs hardware and software upgrades are not impossible.

Honestly if the nexus lasts another year without a major break down I'll be amazed.

I'm so tempted to just texture a shirt with something stupid like that and post it on imageshare. I'll just bite my lip and look at another thread. Or else the urge will continue to kick.

What the Nexus are doing is pissing in the face of those who uploaded their stuff on this site.

Yes, and all will be fine. Remember that without the users and the modders their site would be nothing. Wouldn't even exist. They have forgotten about that. And now Dark0ne feels like Bill Gates and wants to "support every game". Yeah right, works so far as we all can see.

It's not too many free users, it's delusional megalomania that will eventually put an end to the Nexus.

But I'd be fine with the Nexus kicking all free users. Would speed up their demise incredibly and perhaps trigger a u-turn in the site staffs actions. What made Nexus big was people uploading mods and other people spreading the word where to go to download mods. Allowing only paying users would put an end to that.

I don't even dare to think of the exodus of modders that would show the Nexus their finger because they are doing it for fun and not for the profit of some bunch of people who want to have their premium haven, be it the staff or users or modders who are stupid enough to let others make some coin of their work.

I would be going as well. Not that this is important, but I guess I'm not alone with that. Money is not everything, you know?

As I mentioned earlier, I think the self dDoS-ing via NMM needs to stop. Would be a first step. Not that I believe this will happen. Because they support "every game" now. Seems to me like the nerd version of a cock comparison. Yeah, we got the biggest, mothafucka!

*Shakes Magic 8 Ball*  "Can I view Nexus?"  The 8 Ball ALWAYS says: Reply hazy try again / Ask again later/ Better not tell you now / Cannot predict now / Concentrate and ask again...

The NexusModManager is like Obama's Afforable Healthcare.  Nice idea but nothing but a pipe dream as long as the people involved do what they do.  The powers-that-be don't know enough and the software is too flawed to execute, yet it is being held on to with a white-knuckled death grip.

I forsee the day when the NMM is REQUIRED to download mods (
à la STEAM).

It makes me sad at how far nexus has fallen in terms of quality. I just recently got back into playing NV and Skyrim and I think I spend more time here than Nexus. Mostly because the site is always down. Now with that said where are some other good modding sites to go to? I use sexlab as my go to for adult content but I really love good quest mods and armor mods and the like.

Cool.

@hydro1313 There is quite a few out there. There is the steam http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/browse/?appid=72850 http://modgames.net/load/1/42-3-13 <- is a Russian site you will need google translator and make account if you want to download anything there. There is

http://bbs.3dmgame.com Chinese site google translator need account to download has post restrictions till you hit 2nd level http://mods.tesfans.org translator needed and many others out there.

Damn that place is going down like crazy, just trying to get back into Modblivion and the site shits all over itself with errors and 'maintence'.

It would seem LovesrLab downloads are also being problematical. I keep getting very slow downloads before it cancels with Chrome saying "Network error".

Other downloads work.

It just seems LoversLab that's having issues.

Was bored made a t-shirt while the nexus was down. Buy a fake t-shirt help support someone today!!  :D

If you post that mod to the Nexus, can we all take bets on how long it would take you to get banned...? :D

The beauty of ad blockers. Nexus don't get anything from me I don't and won't pay for Prem and they don't get any ad payouts as I have them blocked. :P

Same here. I see nothing at all.

From Dark0ne's blog, November 10th, 2007 in the category 'Personal'.  Just in case anyone missed this...These are his own words.   All I did was underline a few things.

Web development Editor’s comments: some people, mostly Americans not used to my personal flavour of humour, have taken personal offense to this article. The idea when reading is that, with most blog posts (and especially mine) you take the article with a big pinch of salt. All is not as it seems.. Lets not beat around the bush on this one; if you’re one of those people who sings the praises of AdBlock Plus, the plugin for FireFox that allows users to broadly disable advertising on all the websites they visit, then you’re a filthy scum bag. But we’re all filthy scum bags really. Only the other day I was bored in my Marketing lecture and managed to amuse myself by flicking bogies at a nearby sloan girl (the skill is aiming for those girls that have that deliberate “out of bed” frizzy style hair that just screams “define me”). But still, if you use AdBlock Plus, you’re scum.

I’ve had pretty hard-line views on the subject for quite some time now. As the owner of TESNexus (nexusmods), a popular video game site that is very resource and bandwidth intensive, I began taking personal offense to the members of the site forums who would openly suggest using AdBlock Plus, or similar applications, to circumvent the advertising on the site. As offenses go, I’d say it’s up there with those gimps who work behind the tills in nightclubs who think, just because you’ve drunk too much, you can’t count your change.

I’m willing to be realistic about this; I can see certain uses for an ad blocker. One of those uses doesn’t include financially raping those webmasters who run an honest resource for community members with good quality advertising. In the interest of keeping the peace, what I advocate is a more subjective use of adblock programs, rather than a “fuck them all” approach. These programs allow users to specify whether all ads are blocked, or just ads on specific sites. So here’s a clue, why not block sites that you subjectively view are taking the piss when it comes to advertising? I’m sure we’ve all been to those sites that manage to trigger massive brain hemorrhages with their epileptic flashing colours, ads that scream out in some tard-tastic yank accent that you’ve won a free iPod or ads that bounce around the screen, and even when you click that tiny little “x” in the corner to close the ad it seems to think you’re interested in what they’re selling. OK, that’s lame, and no one wants to experience that, so at this point, why not block the ads for this particular site? Then again, the only sites that do that these days are porn sites, or sites with nil content, so you’ve got to start questioning your own browsing habits if you’re experiencing this shit regularly.

If you’re one of those Adblock users who has this retarded idea that advertising has no effect on them and turning off the ads is perfectly acceptable, I’m going to be blunt: you’re an idiot, and you’re wrong. Use the internet or go do some psychology night classes. Irrespective of whether you think you pay attention to advertising or not, the whole point of it being there is to provide revenue to the webmaster, revenue used to help pay for the site you are using. There are plenty of blog articles and internet bitch fights on the net about this shit that normally revolve around some headline grabbing, middle-aged codpiece referencing the concept of adblocking = theft, and I’m not going to do it here (you dirty thieving shits). Instead I’m going to take the high-ground and avoid all the name calling and hype phrases and get to the point: using ad blockers in your browser is your prerogative, in the same way that downloading the latest episode of Lost to satisfy your bleak concept of imagination via bittorrent is also your prerogative. Just don’t start whining like a bitch when the original sites you use start limiting your bandwidth, or doing similar things to screw you back.

I’ve been toying with the idea of limiting the download speed of users on TESNexus who are using adblocking programs. Rather than completely screwing them over by blocking them completely, or doing something ridiculously thickwitted, I’ll continue to provide the site for the entire community, including the dickheads and thick shits who blanket block all advertisements on all sites irrespective of circumstance, but simply limit the download speed for files to something rather small, say, 20kb/sec. No problem for those hill-billies still on dial-up, but those guys are so backwards already that I’m sure any reputable advertisers wouldn’t want their interest anyway (yes, haha, except broadband ISPs).

ME doing this sort of thing to him and his staff (using their own bullshit and calling them out on it) is what got me banned.  Seems it is okay for HIM to be the pathetic little Nancy-Nelly-shit he is...you're just not allowed to point it out for what it is or question it.  Funny that the fuck-faced ferret claims to be taking the high ground and avoid name-calling, yet he does it in every paragraph.

he whom name shall never be mentioned is the head behind the nexus? damn... i still got his nose :/

even if his "bad humor" blog is from 2007, it shows a lot to the people outside of his kingdom. and well, i dont get that "humor" too. maybe some one like him should try to get along with speeds like mine.. maximum is 2mb, shared to 4 pcs sometimes, we call it klingeldraht surfen (doorbell wire surfing... dont know any english translation except the literally)

So many people are downloading and refreshing mods/pages at once. So its clear why their website goes offline pretty much often.

And also if they have problems with keeping site online why DO they add more "nexus" support to games. Damn logic.

Fix this crap nexus. . . oh wait they won't.

you might want to try the nexus support page (lol)  ranting about this here is doing no good has this is the site that shall not be named in the presence of the dark one or any of his minions (opps moderators my bad) hopefully one day we can all get along

Posted

*get along* equals CockRobin aka Dark0ne and his cast of stooges doing and saying whatever they please without consequence.  Seems to me we already are 'getting along' since that is how things are and how they will always be as long as there is a Dark0ne's Nexus.  There is nothing we can do aside from sitting back and laughing our asses off when things go wrong.  Fortunately, we never have to wait very long.  I think Nexus is fine the way it is.  ;)

i need addblock and noscript, because most viruses are spread through that. The nastiest virus was spread with adds added to websites. Many people where pissed because the adds nexus used contained viruses in with lot's of users got infected with. Did he already forgot that part ??

I know it was a few years back but people should realize that infection are due to that, but something noscript actually fixed for me.

btw why create a thread like this,

http://www.loverslab.com/topic/443-the-rant-thread/?view=getnewpost

Even though there is already a place to whine too.
