ratrace Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 It logs on the site automatically if you enter your login data and click the checkbox for automatic login on first start of NMM. You still have to download and install mod updates by a mouse click, but that's semi-automatically. Sorry, I wasn't clear on that and have to edit that in my post above. But the automated login's enough. There's a reason why the weekends are almost 100 % sure offline time for the Nexus. People are at home and want to mod their game. In fact, dDoS-attacks are quite similar in certain cases. But many users indiscriminately update their mods with a click of a button, because "update" to some sounds good or even obligatory, and because it's comfortable (I understand both ways of thinking, not judging on tha either). Would they have to manually do it, they wouldn't be updating that frequently and unnecessarily. Another benefit would be that some of the users would read the update description - which I generally recommend.
Kendo 2 Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 Nexus being down on the weekends is like a cafe being closed at lunch time because the owner didn't buy food. It would be funny if people just started PMing Dark0ne every time there was an issue, flood his forum with 'WTF' threads, etc. If enough people complained he'd have to put down his wine glass, stay out of the beauty salon, and deal with his forum issues...that or he'd just get his panties in a twist and start snapping at people like he always does.
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 At this point all I can do is sit back and say well WTF!!! P.s. wait a FEW SECONDS!! I't took me roughly 60 seconds give or take to take the Screeny load it and save it on photoshop and post it and nexus is still saying this.
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 If I was getting this shit as a Prem member I'd be furious as all Hell wanting to know where the hell the money I spent on the site was going.
...0... Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 Ill just wait when it worksagain, i use nexus as whore thats all, its free hooker i cannot complain about it sometimes i gave it some desease for fuck the nexussite hard and nexus go down sorry guys. Its still good place to find some nice mods nothing more.
Kendo 2 Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 If I was getting this shit as a Prem member I'd be furious as all Hell wanting to know where the hell the money I spent on the site was going. The only response from the staff would be a smart-assed comment, if they responded at all. What is the fucking point of having a premium membership if it is on the same servers as the regular memberships? I'm GLAD the fucking site is down. That is money out of Dark0ne's pocket. Ill just wait when it worksagain, i use nexus as whore thats all, its free hooker i cannot complain about it sometimes i gave it some desease for fuck the nexussite hard and nexus go down sorry guys. Even the auto log on feature can cause undue stress on a site with as much traffic as the Nexus gets. I don't think I ever had this much difficulty getting on the Nexus. Oh once you get on isn't an assurance that you will be able to get what you need. Oh no, no. That can't be the case because as soon as I change the page... failure to load again. Then there is a post here where people paid for membership and the Nexus don't even protect them? What the fricking hell is going on. That is even more stupid than the previous thing I posted about. .. THEY ARE PAID MEMBERS... any other company I mean any other company would be closing their doors very shortly if they never gave the services that was PAID FOR. I am sure that has to be illegal. As much as a dick as they are claimed to be at least they could use these log on problems to drive home their "Premium Services". But no.. that would be too smart. Lets fuck over those that actually give us money as well instead of giving them preferred access. yep that is even more stupid than having a program auto log on and access an already overworked web site. Just when I thought I wasn't going to hear anything more stupid.. Hour later I do... Un-fricking believable. Nexus you never stop to amaze me.. shame it is for all the wrong reasons.
Lexi SubZero Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 Suits them for trying to steal the show from sites like saintsrowmods, runicgamesfansite etc... Karma's a bitch, huh?
Guest endgameaddiction Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 And I remember reading somewhere, where Dark0ne mentioned that he did not want to make Nexus a modding community for all games for various reasons. If only I could find it....
RitualClarity Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 I have no good excuse to offer as to why i was a douche and paid money for such a rank product other then to say i was stupid enough to think they would actually offer something better for the money......learn from my mistake DO NOT buy a membership from them, it does nothing but pay people for a shitty job. You arne't a douche because it would be normal to expect to be taken care of if you are a member. Maybe not in the way of special options or such but at least access when something goes wrong and quick support. You did afterall help support the site. .
dobmc Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA… What a joke. @corespore ye thanks for the compliment.
Guest Ragna_Rok Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 Net 15 popups payout at around $5.00. Consider the number of popups people see in an average browsing session at Nexus. Multiply that by the number of non-premium visitors per day. Go ahead and figure in new premium memberships and the interest on all of it. Yeah, Nexus runs in the black in every month. File hosting services are dirt cheap now and Dark0ne has a pack of fools working for FREE (the dumbasses even espouse it, like they are PROUD of being pimped). It is obvious the money generated by the site isn't going back in to it, but Dark0ne is quick on the draw when it comes to bleating about how poorly Nexus does financially. Funny that he can afford Sumnmer vacations on an island in Greece every year but Nexus is hurting for funds...uhuh...RIGHT. you, sir, ARE AWESOME well, i could say the same for like two dozens of your other posts (maybe more if i continue reading), but, to simply put in my words: *gives you 3 cookies* edit: oh, and 2 more things. first, the NMM was actually the reason for the problems like a month ago. their own software was ddos-ing their server ... second, about the "FREE WORKING fools" ... you know that the NMM became public source? now even more idiots will work for free ... german figure of speech: the idiots will never become extinct
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 The beauty of ad blockers. Nexus don't get anything from me I don't and won't pay for Prem and they don't get any ad payouts as I have them blocked.
Guest Ragna_Rok Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 funny that you mention it, adblock for the win, i once logged in from another computer with no blocker, my reaction: - - - - (the last one is the sneak-ninja-of-me-disappearing) does anyone know if they get money for folks that use adblockers?
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 They shouldn't but you never know for sure.
Guest Ragna_Rok Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 if youre in the mood for a crazy ride, try this: get reeeeeaaaaaally drunk, then turn of any ad-blocker you have, and try to visit a dozen mods there in like 2 minutes. fair warning: keep an empty bucket at hand happy holliday
Guest endgameaddiction Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 Ads?, Now i'm double annoyed, they get money from customers AND sponsors yet they can't keep their site running a single day without a failure. what ARE they doing with all the money they make? Nexus doesn't even pay the employees, their servers are second tier, and yet all you hear from dar....(he whom name shall not be mentioned) is how hard it is to run a site with so little income. I'm trying not be be cynical but I'm starting to think Kendo hit the nail on the head. The issues over there just keeps getting worse despite the fact they are hemorrhaging capitol.......yeahhh....i can see why they are so anal about blocking LL from there. They don't want any of their users to see how a site is suppose to be ran, you know, no crashes no random banning no lame assed mod manager to punch holes in your game files. Instability is something that both the servers and D0 have. I think there's a malfunction between there some where.
Guest Ragna_Rok Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 he should try to give himself kudos ... little joke, feel free to try it there
Guest endgameaddiction Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 I just think Nexus is getting to D0 and that's why the choices being made are not the best for both parties. A new management would do that site good.
ChancellorKremlin Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 I can feel your anger! Your hate has made you powerful! Good, let the hate flow through you! Remember folks, hatred leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate... leads to suffering. Or sumsuch
Kendo 2 Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Not really suffering here, since nothing is being released on Nexus I can't make for myself. The last interesting thing I saw on Nexus was almost a year ago, and that was a driving mod for NV. Nothing really new or cool is being made by that 'community' and if you look at the authors of truly innovative mods they do all of the ground work elsewhere. Think about it..when was the last time any of us saw a WIP thread on Nexus by a talented modder?
ChancellorKremlin Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 You know, the problem, if it can be called that, I think, is that a lot of good modders simply go there and upload their stuff because "that is the place to go" and do so without any knowledge of the whole "politics" aspect of it. In fact, quite a few are "one off" modders who post a good plugin and then disappear and are none the wiser to the whole managerial aspect of it. In many cases, they are quite lucky, but from my experience they form the majority of uploaders on the nexus. Not necessarily the big, huge mods that appeal to the masses, but sometimes the little and undervalued quest, item or texture mod. I've seen quite a few here on LL itself which have no idea about the things discussed on these threads. I suppose it is for them and people like them that I access their mods on the Nexus, and nothing else. And for the record, there is some amazing stuff there, it's just fallen by the wayside most of the time. I suppose you could say the same here. Thankfully, the management here is orders of magnitude above anything The Nexus have to offer.
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 mainly the only things I look for now days on Nexus are updates by Cabal.
