zaira Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Very cool mod - thank you! By the way - where is the cage (or the interesting place you mentioned)? My char is only bound to the cross for the whole night. Did I missed a trigger?
Srende Posted December 29, 2013 Author Posted December 29, 2013 The cage is on the stormcloak side, imperials get the cross. Differences mainly due to the enforcers being Tullius & Galmar, as Tullius stays in Solitude the whole time but Galmar travels through the camps. Cage felt more fitting with the Stormcloak aesthetics and being in camps middle of nowhere. There's an extra visitor on the imperial side though, a chance for him to come to you at night. I was going to do something similar for Stormcloaks but couldn't think of something that would work when the location changes and is mostly in the woods. So suggestions for that are welcome as well ^^

Srende Posted December 29, 2013 Author Posted December 29, 2013 I was thinking originally of having a stray dog come hump the PCs leg or something, but that would work better with the cross than cage. And I haven't really looked into the creature animations if there's a fitting one for dogs.
Pinute Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 I'm running through the civil war quest, and enjoying it mightily. Only issue I've run across so far is how you're handling the timescale changes. I usually run at a lower timescale (10), and after the punishment sequence you reset it to the default 20, rather than storing the original and restoring that. Only other issue was the whipping breaking the bound on cross animation. That's due to my combat mod having a stagger mechanism. Turning off the mod (Ultimate Combat) dealt with that. You might want to put a notice on the OP under conflicts. Not exactly game breakers .
Ashra XIII Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Ooh yes, I run Ultimate Combat too, and I'd forgotten about needing to disable that for whipping scenes. I had the same problem with Prison Overhaul but I haven't used that mod in awhile.

I was thinking about if someone was using lower timescale and if I should account for that, never got around to it. I'll change that. Also thanks for the heads up about staggers, will add that to the compatibility list. And nice to hear it's been enjoyable ^^
lsat1264 Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 I've had a funny compatibility issue with this mod and live another life. It might be my set up but when both mods are installed general Tullius is not in castle Dour so I used placeatme command to bring him there and I had to manually progress the quest to get to the outh taking but it seemed to work fine after that until it came to the punishment scene then i got transported the the starting cell with tullius and ulfric who start going at each other. On the plus side i found out who would win in a straight fight between Ulfric and Tullius on the downside i couldn't do much else. On another note I also use ligeonettes by madcat which adds females to the imperial army not sure weather this could be a good pair up for this mod to give you more options on there side but just thought id mention it.
Ashra XIII Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 I always heard that the 'placeatme' command is not good for quest NPCs because it creates a copy of them or something, and they don't work right. Instead, it's better to get the PRID of the NPC and use 'moveto player'. Live Another Life does have issues with the Civil War Quest on its own, with or without this mod installed. I stopped using the soldier option when I used that mod (I switched to Random Alternate Start) because it was just too prone to mucking up the questline somewhere along the way.
Srende Posted December 29, 2013 Author Posted December 29, 2013 I'm using live another life as well, and yeah, Tullius won't be at the castle before you've done the Helgen quests. Nothing to do with my mod. Placeatme places a copy of whatever you're placing, Tullius in this case, and not the actual Tullius that has all the quests linked on to him, including the vanilla Skyrim ones. Which means, once you got in to the punishment bits where the quest actually links to the real Tullius, it teleports you to him since you were out of his reach. So like Ashra said, look up the PRID from a wiki and use moveto player instead of placeatme. But still, wouldn't recommend it at that point, most likely it breaks some part of the live another life quests. So need to at least visit Helgen first, don't think you need to do much more with that. The one time I did the civil war start with another life, didn't have problems though.
Pinute Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 hm, that might be the issue I had with experimenting with running this with apollodown's civil war remake. I didn't have the heart to run through the original bethesda start. Might try it yet, though. There's no obvious scripting conflict so who knows?
Min Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 I'm playing through this right now, using Alternate Start. So long as you head to helgen first, and then proceed through the dialogue normally: Not skipping the initial quest via the Alternate Start (Start as a soldier) option, they are compatible.

lsat1264 Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Must be something to do with my setup then cos I had actually been to helgen I was upto getting the horn on the main quest. Not sure what it was tried a fresh start being a soldier got the same but when i disabled live another life Tullius spawned just north of the western watch tower at whiterun and walked back to solitude from there the whole thing ran fine. As I said probably something a did with the setup of my mods but at least i got to see ulfric and tullius duke it out. Great mod by the way I am enjoying it now
BattenK Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Having a little trouble here... Punishment after second escapement seems to go on forever (am I just impatient?), and I never encounter whipping. I even tried disabling long punishments after my second infraction and re-enabling them for my third... and no difference. Also, what's this post everyone's talking about?

I have a problem with it. i fight for the Stormcloaks and the Game will CTD in Queststage CWMission03 on every savepoint. Devious Regulations deactivatet at this Stage, the game runs normal. I cant reactivate DR.

I even tried disabling long punishments after my second infraction and re-enabling them for my third... and no difference. Also, what's this post everyone's talking about? What side are you on? Where are you? There are quite a few locations for the punishments And what time of day did you get caught? Do you have 1.2 or 1.2a installed? The 1.2 had one file accidentally missing, leading to broken punishment scenes, so would probably explain that. If that's the case, just upgrade do the latest version. The whipping is the first thing the officers do after leading you to the correct location. And depending on the time of the day you get locked up, you spend there somewhere between 5- 30h of game time, which is the reason for timescale options. "Worst" case is if you get locked up around 6 in the morning. I have a problem with it. i fight for the Stormcloaks and the Game will CTD in Queststage CWMission03 on every savepoint. Devious Regulations deactivatet at this Stage, the game runs normal. I cant reactivate DR. I haven't actually touched that quest at all, apart from some NPC having the chance of being in chastity belts. No idea why it would be doing that.
himiko00222 Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Joined the Stormcloaks to test when i got collared and bound punishment inside of the palace of kings it did not progress and lasted forever. Realoaded and waited a till galmar was in one of the war camps and it proceeded getting restrained overnight. Is it meant to be like that?

Realoaded and waited a till galmar was in one of the war camps and it proceeded getting restrained overnight. Is it meant to be like that? Apparently the palace area wasn't as simple location wise as the camps. Basically the punishment quest can't find the pole / cage in Windhelm, so it doesn't start leaving you stuck. Currently fixing it, sorry about that
himiko00222 Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Is oki nice to know i like the posture collar so kinda skipped to it quickly shouldnt really have got there before leaving the palace first time
nameless701 Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 can you make such a Mod also for the companions(fellows) in white run, the Thiefs in Riften or the Dark Brotherhood?Should also function(work) without start of the mainquestes. (For Users from Skyrim Unbound or Alternate Start)
Srende Posted December 30, 2013 Author Posted December 30, 2013 can you make such a Mod also for the companions(fellows) in white run, the Thiefs in Riften or the Dark Brotherhood? Should also function(work) without start of the mainquestes. Heh, probably not anytime soon. Enough to do with this currently Though my original name for this was Devious Factions (hence the DF_ scripts and other stuff), but that felt a bit too broad with only the civil war factions so changed it to Regulations before release.
mogon Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Hi, little problem here: i sided the imperials, (testing the civil war overhaul in combination with your interesting mod), was caught without belt 2nd time, and tullius himself punished me at the marketplace of solitude. Spend the night there (nice visitors, by the way) and was freed by tullius in the morning. But just after freeing me he says something like: "rikke reported, that you removed your belt". But im still wearing the imperial belt. Later, i went to rikke and she says that im unbelted and have to report to tullius, but the belt was there. On the second march to the cross i was attacked and killed by a guard... any advise?
