Just so people know, I have developed personalities for every npc and have them written down for when I do make dialogue for them.

That you'd put effort into character design was clearly apparent.

That's why you should do justice to your efforts and make some new quests that "show don't tell" that stuff to the player

Maybe not this iteration, but one day. There's clearly scope to make a ton of small quests around the character personalities.

What version are you using and are you using a language other than English?

The only time I have ever seen a VLookup Error was in FO4 when I had installed a mod that used the dialogue system that showed your actual responses but didn't have the mod that actually did that and even then it only happened with some item during settlement construction.

The names for the person and location in the Delivery quest are taken from a second quest which serves only to find a valid customer based on conditions. The main quest then checks to see if it returned a valid person and location, if not it reset the search quest and ran it again. This repeats until it finds one that is acceptable (this is why sometimes it takes a moment for Master to give you the location). The main quest then sets aliases in it corresponding to the ones in the customer search quest so it can use the information in the objective info (this can only be done with aliases).

The Retrieval quest has the locations preset and sets the Aliases so they can be used in the objective.

All of these are standard Skyrim stuff and the system in the first quest is similar to the radiant quests. Both of these quests have been unchanged for some time now. Are you using the original version of Skyrim or SSE?

If it is the original then after you try running the Delivery quest use the following commands and look at the aliases (should be the first thing you see)

sqv CDxPackageCustomer     <-- is the quest that finds the customer

sqv CDxPackageDelivery       <-- is the main quest

If any of the aliases in these say NONE then I need the log of that session so I can see what errors are being generated (if you don't know how to get one google it, it is rather easy to find).

If you are using SSE you are on your own. Most of the Master Mods required are not made for SSE (DD especially) and I use some SKSE script commands in some places so I can't guarantee compatibility. I own SSE, never installed it and likely won't as CD is too big a mod to try to debug the entire mod.

Tha npc names seem to be a bit messed up after I updated, previously Mistress was Mistress now she's Hunter. I have no idea how I messed things up

And after the mining quota when I have to find De'zra I can't find her

If you are using v4.05 then you need to use the v4.051 patch as well as indicated in the installation instructions on the main page, the update fixes the string tables.

thanks for the in-depth insight of this problem but it seems the mod managed to fixed itself when i reinstall the mod. must be some kind of installation error or some sort

I got stuck when I have to return again to the orc stronghold to trade ores for ingots. When I arrive to the blacksmith and say "Hey!" to him he only says Back again?, and then nothing

big fan of your mod but i have found a few minor issues

the most significant i have is when i talk to the master (whos listed as hunter) the conversations cut out at odd points repeatedly for example when they mentioned about a custom fitting my response would just lead them to exit the conversation

anyone have any solutions or advice?

I am guessing you are using v4.05? If so you need the v4.051 update which fixes the string tables.

As for the dialogue cutting out it is an issue in the older versions, newer versions have walkaway dialogue that is set up to restart it. One of the issues you may be having is that something is interrupting the scene / dialogue and trying to run its own thing (typically another mod). I believe the spot is where you are to be fitted with a chaste life belt? It is one of the areas that is prone to this unfortunately. It is supposed to start a scene, if it has not already done so you can try disabling your controls and see if it runs or not.

Recently downloaded this mod. Having a lot of fun with it so far. I even created a custom corset for the occasion:

Nice work, I wish I could do texture work. The gold coloring on all the black items looks really sharp, I like the look of it.

This brings up a gripe of mine.

DD items are part of DD, and you can't modify and repackage them, you can only do stuff like overwrite a texture, or make a new item that uses the AA object. It's a blocker really.

I modified the harnesses. But the change I wanted meant new and different NIF files; I couldn't just refer to the files in DD and use them as a dependency.

So there was no way I could distribute my work. It was only for me.

So now, to get the same effect, but public, I have to make a new harness, completely original, just so I can do what I want with slotting, remapping texture UVs, and so forth.

It was a pain learning Blender, as I used to use Max, and had ways of doing stuff like wrapping a strap around a curve, and twisting it at the same time, efficiently in that program. I don't have an efficient way to do it in Blender. Yet. Maybe there was a way to do it with some add-on modifier, but the basic ones don't, so it comes down to mesh edit, bends and rotates.

Painful... Endless fiddly vertex selection.

And then I see the result and I think. No. The strap isn't tensioned realistically like that - and I have to do it all again - but you can't quite route the straps as they'd really be without getting into a situation where you also have to cut them vertex for vertex into the UUNP body mesh, else they wouldn't weight identically, which would mean HDT would create dynamic clipping on the breasts as they bounce. You can see this defect in various devices in DD, and I could have lived with it on my hack and slash of the existing meshes, but I can't accept it in anything I make from scratch. It's obvious who's to blame for the defects if I make it from whole cloth.

Anyway, having been forced to create, I have to do it right, and it's a huge time sink, when I don't really want to be making meshes. This is the problem with people being particular about rights. I understand creators not wanting people to take their work and sell it on Beth's site etc, but blocking everyone else who works for free...

Anyway, with those gold trimmed corsets, it's a simple texture overwrite if there are no UV edits, which is fine to distribute, and anyone can have it.

I find that DD corset a bit heavy-handed, too much metal showing for my tastes, though the gold tones that issue down a bit. They're great for realistically inescapable design with all that steel, but when you see them bending, flexing and stretching, due to HDT, the steel no longer looks like steel. And if you build them without HDT, they will only look right on a non-HDT body, and that's sad. I'm looking at the possibility of a re-weight-paint that would solve the issue without throwing away HDT, but it will probably only end up on the corset I make to match the harness, and then nobody will like it because people are used to stretchy HDT corsets that balloon out around pregnant bellies now.

Posted

there are people out there like me that use hdt bodies, but dont use anything that increases the size of the belly area such as pregnancy mods. so it would be a nice idea. i do agree that it looks kinda funny when the player is wearing a corset and the corset kinda flexes when the player is in stealth. yes steel has some flexibility but not as much as seen when the player is in stealth.

My personal solution for stuff like this is to use an HDT xml set with the option of no belly bounce.  I use Bazinga's Naturalistic HDT (https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/2431-naturalistic-hdt-and-beast-hdt/) which has 3 sets of xmls each with 4 options related to belly HDT collision and bounce (no bounce, no collision, both, neither).  The belly will still stretch with inflation mods as that isn't related to HDT, but with the no bounce options it will not otherwise jiggle/move.  I find belly bounce to look quite strange on anything but a heavily inflated character, as to me it kinda looks like an otherwise fit female has a layer of jello strapped to her belly.  And obviously no belly bounce is much preferred while wearing corsets or armor that visibly has an armored belly.

XMLs are easy to swap out, so you could always recommend people use a non-belly bounce XML while using your custom corset.  That way you can simply build it to use regular HDT and it is up to the player to have HDT sets that look good with corsets and not have to worry about an HDT user complaining about their belly bouncing through a non-hdt corset.

Posted

I think the xml I am using for hdt was one that minimized bounce on breasts and butt and pretty much nothing on belly, it was one I found then edited the values further.

I do see your point on the corset bending and such. I have had to start using pulleys and counterweights to suspend any reality with v4 anyway.

Thanks for the XML suggestion. Following on from that...

I would seriously like a recommendation for an XML that mitigates the "invisible characters" bug as much as possible.

I suffer from it a lot unless I simply dump HDT altogether. I believe for my CD playthrough, I went CBBE without HDT "for a change", rather than UUNP Special, which I usually use. It was a novelty not having invisible female NPCs skulking around. Characters showed up I didn't even know existed! I barely even noticed the lack of animation, and the maid dresses seemed to suit not having it.

I tried the old HDT fixer, but it was useless, and just caused crashes without resolving the problem at all. It used to be a rare problem with my old gfx card. It seems to happen much more now, even though the physics is overall much better, as 60 FPS is reliably attainable almost anywhere. Apparently, uneven updates can help stop this bug showing up.

I also considered going to old school hand-animated TBBP, but there are very few animation sets for LE. Dragonfly is the only one I could find that's a serious contender, and I do not like that spinning idle at all. I quickly got sick of it in SE, where TBBP is having a bit of a renaissance. (But the mods I want just aren't on SE, and I can't seem to get a working MO2 under Win10 either).

If you're lucky enough not to see this issue, it's where a character has HDT boobs in one cell, and body in another, and their body stretches out sideways like a whole load of broken mesh, like they're beaming in via teleport. When they stretch far enough, they vanish entirely. When you enter a cell, some characters may start completely broken and invisible, due to this. If they are stretchy, and you get close to them, usually they fix themselves, but if they're fully invisible, often they don't. You can manually fix them by console selecting then disable and enable, which always works. But if you don't even know there's an invisible character standing next to you, you wouldn't know to do that.

It's a huge pain when it happens to a quest NPC that you're searching for, and can't find.

Fortunately, vanilla armors aren't HDT, so it doesn't impact those unless you put in a replacer. But in my SLAV and Slaverun playthroughs, I used a skimpy replacer, and so practically every female suffered from it in those games, at some time or another.

I fixed this problem 99.9% by following this piece of advice from some great poster on this forum.  I don't know who the source was, but following this has basically removed "invisible" npcs from my game.  Most of the armor in my game is HDT and my player used HDT hair, and the only time I see an invisible character is when one of the crazy heretical HDT chain items bugs out on a reload.

Original post I copied - I followed these instructions on all xmls I have installed:

Hi, you can try this. It works for me.

Open the "hdtPhysicsExtensionsDefaultBBP.xml" or what ever your controlling .xml is for cape, armor, whatever, with Notepad++. Search for the lines: <hkparam name="maxLinearVelocity"> and <hkparam name="maxAngularVelocity">. You will see a parameter like <hkparam name="value">255</hkparam>. If your value is not 255, change it to 255. The stretching appears to happen when the mesh movement moves faster than the max velocity integer. If you have hdt cape, You can easily reproduce stretching simply by using Whirlwind Sprint shout.

Once you change all above parameters, the stretch no longer happens. I did this for Clothes and Cloaks. I have not had any problems with stretching or invisibility on NPC or Followers. I do not use any changes to HAVOK ini. Of course your computer setup may come in to play, so results may very. Just thought I would share, because i used to have the same problems. I'm currently using HDT Clothes and Robes for all NPC's, HDT Cloaks(Myself and Sofia), HDT Underwear (Myself and Sofia), Custom version of HDT Marie Rose Hair (Myself), HDT Changeable Hair Ribbons for Marie Rose Hair (Myself), HDT Weapon Sling for XPMSE(Myself), and custom Hats/Hoods with HDT Hair (Myself), and of coures HDT Bodies (CBBE HDT including Sofia) all with no problem. Good luck, hopes this helps you to.

(note - I'm 99% sure Bazinga's HDT has this done already on his files).

Any devices that are in Assets you can message Zadil and ask for permission to use his items and modify them, there shouldn't be an issue with it. I contacted Zadil on behalf of Skullered for the Beast Race gags and such and he had no issues with it. It may take a bit to get a response as he doesn't check in often. Tell him I sent you and show him what you are doing and I am sure he will ok it.

I'm posting this in case it might help others experiencing similar problems, since I noticed that others had encountered similar technical dificulties when I was searching the posts here for a solution.  Also, the crash issue might be of interest to the mod author.

My character received punishment in the Shop for being late making a delivery.

The first problem is that after I was informed that I'd be punished, the messages that punishment was commencing appeared, but nothing happened.  Master and Herran just stood there.  Save and reload did nothing.  I finally fixed this by clicking the MCM option for FNIS PCEA2 to refresh animations.  After that the scene proceeded smoothly and my character was prepared for punishment.  So, my fault, but anyone else who forgets the in-game FNIS animation update might be helped by reading this.

The second problem was a game crash that occurred during the "displayed as a slave" scene, in which various devices are attached over time.  Consistently, the gag, blindfold, and boots would be attached, then the game would crash right as the fourth device was attached (I'd briefly see a message about device added, then crash).  My workaround was to use the console to carefully unequip the boots after receiving them.  I'd then be given the same boots as the next device.  Then I'd repeat until the session finished after giving me several identical boots.  Just guessing, but this might be because I'd toggled off piercings and body suits in the mod's MCM menu, and maybe it got stuck with no more valid devices to install.  But it seems like my preferences were reasonable and that shouldn't have caused a problem.  At least I found a workaround.

Not complaining, just passing along my experiences and solutions.

I updated DDa, DDx, and DD integration a while ago, and Zaz 8.0 for another mod, and I didn't even think to check here if it was compatible.  I am assuming it isn't, I started to get a lot of quests not progressisng then it hit me.  Now I can't find some of the previous requirement versions on my HD, and I cant find them in the downloads of the individual mod pages. Is there a source to get the right versions? Here is what I have and what I could find.  I know they are not what you said are required so I am trying to be exact.

DDa installed v3.0e, (can't find 2.9)

DDX installed v4.0,   (I also have 2.0c but cannot find 1.2.3)

DD integration v4.0  (I also have 3.3b but cannot find 3.2)

Zaz 8.0                   (I also have 7.0  and  6.11)

I'm sorry if this has been addressed in previous threads, I looked for a while but didn't see anything.  I try very hard to be sure to have exactly what the mod authors have written for required versions.  If I end up having to choose between Captured Dreams and another mod, Captured Dreams always wins. I can't be without Captured Dreams in my game. Your mod is the  best!

your DDa is fine, that is the latest version, DDX supported version for CD is 2.0c, DDI supported version for CD is 3.3b. ZaZ supported version for CD is 7.0.

as for which version of CD are you using? is it 4.051 or 4.15 with at least parts 1 and 2? which quests are you having problems with, is it the delivery and recover quests or the 4 optional quests? knowing which quests you are having issues with in CD will help Vel be able to help you more in finding a solution.

reason i am asking, is my DDA is 3.0e, DDX is 4.0, DDI is 4.0 and ZaZ is 7.0. the only issues i have found is the Yoke for property slave not being removed consistantly, since the keywords for the yoke in CD is still the previous DD versions keywords. Vel is working on getting partial support for DD 4.0. but it will take time.
