So first of all this new CD is awesome. Finally made it to the last stage in the manor. Though I've seem to run into an odd issue not always I can finish the first 2 task with no issue then when i do the 3rd i get the dialogue for markus saying "I'm done for the day, whatever is left can wait" and not the one about being done for task 4. Main reason i ask is because i don't know if i still get the 1 merit or am i just collecting demerits? Seems to occur mostly for sweeping almost like it didn't register completion

...

which mod?

What was the best answer to the question?

My example was not related to CD.  Just the general case that when doing a new Skyrim install + mods, that in itself introduces potentially many new changes that are unintended.   I have mods going back couple of years, I have no idea the install order or replacement choices I made at the time. Also those mods were probably installed over time, one at a time.  Now I install them all at once, start Skyrim and hope MCM doesn't explore setting up 20 MCM menus all at once.    So on a 'fresh' install, my Skyrim setup when I install CD again will probably be different.

For the answer, with no log messages etc. try and think of any overlap that the two mods can have conflicts.

Try flipping the install order of said mods.

Check each file before doing an overwrite to see if anything looks dangerous.

@tontoman

I didn't mean to come off like some country bumpkin or hijack threads,

but

You said the installation of a single mod almost drove you nuts until you found the answer, and that's valuable info in any thread.

I risk the pedantic sword of damocles from those present (especially (no, nevermind) but if it's a current mod, a *popular* mod,

and if it drove you batty, it would be good to know, that's all I'm saying.

Apologetic and with thanks, Don't eat me

I have experienced that if you finish your task early and speak to Markus you have this issue. Try to wait before speaking to him : wait until 6 pm then speak to him, then you should have the 2 options.

When I reached 30 merits, I had to to another day of task, and next day I had the proposal from Master ... sadly, as I wrote above, I seem stuck now.

So something that might be helpful. I'm updating a bunch of mods and was also having problems getting Captured Dreams to install through NMM. I didn't realize that you can click the little red "X" next to "install failed" and it tells you why it failed. I had uninstalled SL Aroused to update it, and hadn't reinstalled it yet. I guess NMM wants you to install mods based on the requirements first, then the main mod, not just go alphabetically like I was doing.

I'm unable to get the little devils and little helpers plugs to work properly. I says they are equipped but there is no pop up about them sliding inside of you. Is there a work around for this?

Yes, the requirements are there because you need them before you install the mod, you should always check each mod before you install it to see if it has requirements and then install the requirements/check if you already have the requirements first.

It's a huge pain I know (I just deleted everything yesterday and have so far reinstalled all the Nexus mods (bar some I'm hoping I just added because I heard they were useful, to hopefully reduce bloat) and today I have the task of installing all the loverslab mods and then cleaning things in TESVedit before I can even see if I installed everything correctly/have a stable game again x-x

Hello! Iam cleaning my papyrus right now and doing some esp cleaning and CD is giving me some errors in papyrus. Is it on my end (maybe bad installation or deleted file) - but everything should be ok or it is CDs fault? :)

Note to all CD users:

At the moment Veladarius real life eats most of his spare free time and as real life takes priority, requests and reports may go unanswered for a while, unless someone else can help.

But as soon as he got the time he'll answer as many as possible, so please be patient.

Thanks for your understanding.

Hello, I have been gone for a week, and came back to update to 4.05 from 4.03 + patches.  I cleaned my previous save, got rid of the CDxMCMmenu script as requested.  Installed the newest version, and started back up.  It started up ok, but I immediately noticed that my quest journal was pretty much blown away.   If this has come up before, and I missed the fix for this in previous pages, I would appreciate being pointed in the correct direction.  Otherwise, I think I will go back to my patched 4.03 version as I was having fun and am tired of stating over.. hehe

this is always a good idea, as some mods, like CD have to overwrite or build on some of thier dependants. CD in particular chages/adds to some of the DD files. found that out when i had to rip out 4.00 to upgrade to 4.04.

As you followed the directions your only solution is to completly clean your game from CD.

We could make this a general recommendation, but then not much people would update and it's not always needed depending on which quests you started and finished, so we can't forsee it.

So ya... clean your game from CD because your one of those users where it's sadly needed.

how essential is TESVedit? i have never cleaned any of my files or mods and they work fine. ofc, most of my mods are small, and LOOT is showing them as clean already.

Very essential but be aware to not clean every mod. Loot tells you which mods should not be cleaned.

And in case you wonder why to clean mods: Not cleaning mods makes the game unstable and can make mods incompatible to each other.

And as for CDS: it's cleaned before release and it contains all USLEEP changes. So no additional work here. ;)

ok, one thing that is bugging the heck out of me:

in the main description, CD says it will use some items for Neo's Slave Leia if you have that mod installed.

i installed it, registered and activated it with CD's MCM, and it not showing up in either the buy item options or on the shop models. i'm assuming that it is working iff io see the skirts on the shop models, per the pics in the description, but thats not happening.

it's oudated information because the addon that made this possible is no longer available because it's incompatible with CD V4.xx.

Support may be added again later down the road, but for now it's dropped.

It is a good idea to clean things; update, dawnguard, hearthfire and dragnborn .esm all need cleaning for a start so even bethesda released mods can come with ITMs (identical to master records) (and maybe deleted references, can't remember now). Its a very quick and simple task once you know how. Other mods may have ITMs or deleted references that need removing or undeleting via TESVedit to improve stability, but like CGi says a few mods have intentional dirty edits (guard dialogue overhaul for example) which means they should not be cleaned at all (Loot doesn't even flag GDO as having dirty edits anymore for me so I'm guessing they've improved their cleaning detection and now only show mods that both do need cleaning and are allowed to be cleaned?).

I'm not sure if I made much sense...

you did. gonna go do this now, as i do get the odd ctd for no reason. just running along in random parts of map aaaand CTD.

LOOT also links a cleaning guide, so should be easy to follow i guess.

Okay, got everything installed and started the mod again, doing the mines I got the neverending force greet from Mecius again, I tried reintalling CD and the patch replacing only the english files and the .esp using the patch, reloaded from before I started the mines and the bug is seemingly gone (second time for me that installing this specific way seems to fix the force greet bug, seems like the patch somehow reintroduces the force greet bug?);

Edit: On the plus side I got out of the mines at last and didn't CTD past Half Moon Mill, so hopefully that issue is now fixed with me by reinstalling everything fresh.

Edit 2: Somehow I don't think this is just a result of my vram, Mecius's clothes/body is invisible and almost everything has gone black, this started happening after I fast travelled back from the Ingot Orc quest. But I've no idea what cold be causing it, I removed several intensive mods and reinstalled everything from scratch to prevent having any 'baked in' bugs :/

But then again it did fix itself the second time I quit to desktop and reloaded, I really have no idea wh it's happening, the past couple times it's happened are the first ever for me.

Hi,

I have a strange issue with this mod breaking an intro sequence. How can I fix that?

"an intro sequence"? What intro sequence?

The vanilla one when starting a new game?

Hi,

Yes, the vanilla intro sequence. The cart either goes flying or the first view camera moves to the front of the cart near the feet of the cart driver. Also I am able to change to the third view by rotating the mouse wheel, which should not be possible.

Quick question: I'm considering completing Captured Dreams by going the negative route with increasingly worse jobs by failing quests/quotas. It apparently ends with 5 days in a cage (and something "happens after that..." according to the description page). Without spoiling anything too severely, can someone tell me whether my character survives and is free by the end if I go this route? This quest path sounds quite fun in theory, I just don't want to get to the end and have my character killed and I find that I have to start all over again.

Hi

Version 4.05 contains the names problem bug... master becomes hunter, herran guest, etc...

Or maybe it's because I didn't start a new game ?

Anyway, there is a way to fast progress in the mod (a command to complete 10 or more jobs, etc...). That's three times I try to reach the end of you mod, and I never suceed... and I'm become lazzy to do again the errands and recover quests...

I believe that the "CDS_V4-05_LESP.7Z" file from download fixes that, or an unlocalized esp when you install cd (from Fomod)

Strange.

For now just don't have CD enabled until you're in the castle with your chosen guide (where you get your toons hands freed) or use Alternate Start.
